Create IOS app to remove MDM profile

Hi,
I need a way to automatically remove specific profiles from ipads and then reinstall from a URL. Is this something that could be achieved with Xcode?
I am an experienced c# programmer and thinking off learning objective C. This may well be my first project. I work as an IT manager and we have just started rolling out iPads, etc using MDM.
Any advice is much appreciated.
Ps I know that I can do this with the MDM. This is to deal with unusal circumstances that sometimes occur in IT!, and the end user doesnt want to uninstall settings themselves.

Hi, Andrew-
What specifically are you looking for?  It's unclear if you're looking for best practices or other documentation.  Thanks,

  • Can Flash CS5.5 create ios app with in game purchase function?

Can I use flash CS5.5 to create ios app with in game purchase function and other ios specific functions? Is there any limitation compare to using ios native development environment? Same questions for Android OS.
    Thank you very much.

First disable autoplay. It gave errors for me. Try to make the movie play with the play() command.
to embed the movie in your air bundle, just go to publish settings for your flash project. Then in that screen go to the player settings.
In the first GENERAL tab you'll see a the bottom that you can add files to your project
Propably there is allready your .swf and an .xml file in there.
Using the + icon you can add your video.
Make sure that your video is in the same directory as your . FLA file and you can use it as is (by name)
If for example your flashfile is in c:\mytest\mytest.fla and the video in c:\mytest\videos\myvideo.flv , then you will have to load your video as "videos/myvideo.flv" with a FORWARD slash, never use \
    Good luck

  • Apple Configurator refresh is removing MDM profile

I have noticed that with Apple Configurator 1.4 and IOS 7, every time I refresh an iPad, my MDM profile is removed. Has anybody else come across this? does anybody have a solution?
I have confirmed that the Apple Configurator preferences are set to NOT remove profiles that Configurator did not install.
    Thanks,

configurator 1.4. is bugged. Here is the notes from my apple support call.
"I am adding impact with our engineers for you regarding two known issues:
    - Enrollment profiles for MDM being removed upon refreshing a Supervised device
    - Paid apps changing to "Free" upon importing an App update"
Not really impressed that they threw this out there with these bugs.. I mean really.. that's two things that 3/4 of your customers that use configurator are going to use.

  • Create iOS app using edge animate and DPS

I was investigating the potential for using edge animate compositions and digital publishing suite to create single edition iOS apps.
After some trial and error I have been able to create a basic iOS app for kids, using EA and DPS. The app was approved and placed in the app store.  See the below link:
    https://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=786031451&mt=8
For future reference do you have specific documentation/guidelines on using EA compositions to create DPS single edition apps?  I was hoping to get a better understanding of the potential for using html5 compositions in iOS apps (and limitations).

  • Where can I learn to create iOS apps in Sydney?

    Hi,
I am looking to learn how to write iOS apps, from scratch. Any suggestions? I live in the Sydney (AUS) area.

Often universities like to use Android because it is more friendly to a communist ideology, but you may be able to use iOS if you contact the professor.

  • Video in Flash-Created iOS app

    Is it possible?
I've tried importing the video, or embedding the video. I have two that will be included. This app is for a internal only application (not for the app store). Size isn't really an issue.
Embedding the video works, but the audio gets out of sync, and is pretty unusable.
Does anyone have a possible solution to this?
    Thanks in advance!

I'm not familiar with stagevideo. I'm going to look into it more.
The app was created with Flash CS6. The video (FLV) was embedded in the timeline. Flash actually warns me when doing this that the audio will likely go out of sync for longer videos. Unfortunately they are fairly long. It also tends to make the app act a little strange. For instance, the second video would just stop towards the later part of the video.
I realize embedding these videos isn't the best solution, so finding a different method would be great. But the problem is that the videos have to be included with the app, since the users won't have an internet connnection when using it.
I could get you a copy of the app, but it's pretty large with the embedded videos...
For the time being, I've simply removed the audio from the videos. This is a temporary solution as the app will be used at tradeshows where visitors likely won't be able to hear them anyway.
    Thanks for the help!

  • Can you use video within an flash created ios app

Was trying to add a video element to an interactive app that is to be deployed to the iPad. However the video isn't showing up.
I add the video folder  to the included file list.  The video appears encoded properly because i can add it to the video library on the ipad and it plays fine.
Does video work with the packager?

Got my answer. Currently Sorenson and VP6 only work.

  • Showing indesign document in iOS app.

Hi, I want to create iOS app which will display magazines but other then magazine pages i want to create login and some other pages. How can i show indesign document in app? DPS don't allows us to code and I haven't found any satisfactory answer for using indesign document in coding through xcode.

AFAIK InDesign SDK is meant for creating plug-ins for InDesign. It has nothing to do with cXode or even objective-C programming language which is used in xCode...
InDesign documents (indd-files) are compiled binary files, I don´t think you can parse them anyhow.
InDesign can be set to save preview images of the pages, that can be used for showing InDesign document´s pages inside some iOS viewer app, I think someone has already done somthing like that... but that´s about only way I can imagine to show InDesign document´s content inside iOS app...

  • Anyone profiled iOS app using FlashBuilder?

We're making an iOS app using Flash Professional. I also use Flash builder for my editing.
the application also unfortunately uses AIR-specific features, such as SQLite database and NativeApplication references.
I've had luck before using the profiler by just profiling as a web application (which is what gets created when I do "create new Flash Professional Project..." in FlashBuilder.
But I am stuck on how to get FlashBuilder profiler working on this project because it always wants to launch the thing in a web browser, which can't function due to the AIR-only features.
Anyone ever gotten this combination to work?  I *so* wish I could just start from an MXML wrapper and load my FLA as a swf, but silly iOS restrictions force me to have just one SWF with all my code in it.
    thanks!

    Hi ericmathew
iPhone 6 & iPhone6+ require different Launch Images than older phones:
    For Example,
    For iPhone 6 : Default-375w-667h@2x~iphone.png
    And iPhone6+ : Default-414w-736h@3x~iphone.png

  • Cannot install apps or remove policies w/ strict MDM policy already in place

I installed an MDM policy through Apple Configurator.  That policy temporarily has installing apps disabled.
When connecting an iPad to my computer and running Configurator, it does not allow me to override that profile to install apps, nor does it let me remove the profile, even though the profile was installed with the Configurator in the first place.
This is becoming a hassle specifically when a student forgets their passcode and the iPad disconnects from the WiFi.  Because I cannot install apps, and in turn remove profiles, I cannot wipe the passcode on the iPad without wiping the whole device.
Is there a way to update through configurator without installing apps?  I know I can deselect them, but I don't want to uninstall them due to the fact that students have lots of work saved in some of those apps.
    Any suggestions?

The GPO message turned out to be a complete red herring. Here's how I resolved it:
Go to the Add or Remove Programs section of Control Panel and remove the SQL Server Setup Support Files.
    Browse to C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Setup Bootsrap\Cache\SQLSupport\x86\1033 and run SqlSupport.msi
Run the Service Pack 2 installer again, the Setup Support Files should show status 'Upgraded' on the feature selection page. The rest of the installation should complete successfully.
    I hope this helps!

  • Is it still possible to create a 32-bit only iOS app?

With the latest AIR release (17), is there any way to still create a 32-bit only iOS app for testing on the iPad 1? It's currently not possible to install an app with 64-bit support on an iPad 1 to test the app. My understanding, however, is that Apple will do something on their end that will allow apps submitted to the App Store (with 64-bit support) to still be downloaded and installed on an iPad 1. Having a way to test on the iPad 1 before submission to Apple would be nice.
Is there a compiler switch or something that can be used for this purpose? If not, could such a switch be added easily? If we had such an option, we could continue testing on and supporting the iPad 1. Being in the education market, this is kind of critical to us.
    Thanks,

Because an app built with 64-bit support *cannot* be installed on an iPad 1 device for testing purposes, whether using iTunes or Xcode. It simply doesn't work. This is the message generated by Xcode:
This is when trying to install an app built with Flash Builder 4.7 and AIR sdk 17 beta.
As I stated before, my understanding is that Apple will still allow installing apps on an iPad 1 through the App Store, but *only* through the App Store. In my opinion, this is too late. We really need a way to continue testing on the iPad 1, if at all possible. That's why I'm asking if there's a possibility of adding a compiler switch of some kind that would allow building 32-bit only apps, for testing purposes only.
    Thanks.

How come although iPads are getting more powerful, the iOS apps from apple are so mediocre and just not that great? We spend all this money for the latest ipad and all we get is these $5 video and music apps from apple. Why create the iOS platform and only offer so so apps like IMovie and GarageBand ? While other developers are offering much better apps like pinnacle studio for video, Cubasis and Auria for music production, apple has not showed much growth in terms of innovation. While there's nothing wrong with making an app like GarageBand where "anyone " can make a song, how about something for real musicians or an app not so basic as it get for video editing? After spending 0ver $700 on an ipad I'd be willing to spend more than $5 for a better video or audio app.

First, try a system reset although I can't give you any confidence.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

Is it possible to restrict access to specific IOS apps based on the WIFI profile that a user has connected to?

you might be able to block it if the app uses Internet access
and depending on your wireless you might be able to block a specific user
accessing the backend host that the app uses
some firewalls offer application filtering but I'm not aware of any that work with ios apps

  • Need Help testing iOS app created in Flash Pro Cs5.5

I've followed several instructions on how to develop a simple iOS app. I've managed to go all the way through and Publish + create the .ipa. I'm able to then add the file to my iTunes library, but when I then try to add it to my iPod Touch (2nd Generation) I get the following error:
The app "XXXXXX" was not installed on the iPod "XXXXX's Ipod" because it is not compatible with this iPod.
I've even tried it with a simple "Hello World!" app but I get the same error.
I'm using Flash Pro Cs5.5 on a Windows PC.
    Any suggestions?

I'm having the exact same problem with my iphone 3G. I tried publishing the exact same simple flash app to my iphone, which I already previously tested succesfully, after having downloaded flash 5.5, and now I get the following message (which, I believe, is identical to yours kinant87) :
"The app "Main" was not installed on the iPhone "Norgaard" because it is not compatible with this iPhone."
I was trying to make another small app, when I got this problem, which is why I went back to re-test the app I knew was working!
I've reinstalled all my apple certificates, and also tried using flash builder 4.5, with the same result.
I also have not jail broken my phone, and was starting to think perhaps the iPhone 3G was no longer supported?
