Create java set up file

any body know how to create the java set up file
some thing like what in vb or c++?
do we need any additional software?
what is it? and where i can download
that's all
thanks a lot

Oh, you need an installerer ..
You can check out InstallAnywhere or InstallShield, but they both cost money.
A very good alternative, which is free;
http://www.psychoticsoftware.com/products/installwizpro/index.html
It can create native installers for windows, mac, linux, etc.

  • Set up file

    I want to create a set up file for my authorware project. So
    that it will copy my project files to in directory C:/ and make a
    shortcut in dekstop.

    We use InstallShield
    http://www.macrovision.com/products/flexnet_installshield/installshield/index.shtml)
    to create installations for our software. We use it for other
    apps besides
    Authorware courses though, so it may be a bit too
    over-powered for what you
    need, and I'm sure others could suggest cheaper or free apps
    that can do
    exactly what you'd need.

  • How to set SAXParser at command-line interface to create a large XML file

    Hi,
    I am trying to create a large XML file (more than 50 MB) by selecting from Oracle database but failed because of "out of memory" error. According to "Oracle XML Developer Guide", we should use SAXParser to parsing a large XML file. But there is no example to show how to set SAXParser at command-line
    Following is what I use to get xml files. It works only when the file is small.
    java OracleXML getXML -DateFormat -withDTD -rowsetTag PO_HDR -conn
    "jdbc:oracle:oci8:@server_name" -user "ID/password" "select * from table_name"
    When I set SAXParser at the way below,
    java oracle.xml.parser.v2.SAXParser OracleXML getXML -DateFormat -withDTD -rowsetTag PO_HDR -conn
    "jdbc:oracle:oci8:@server_name" -user "ID/password" "select * from table_name"
    it failed with the error message: "In class oracle.xml.parser.v2.SAXParser: void main(String argv[]) is not defined"
    Does anyone know how to solve the problem? I'll be appreciated very much for your help.
    Yi

    here are my ideas.
    register the xml schema.
    using xmldom, generate the desired xml output and return as xmltype.
    then you can use something like this to check.
    declare
    xmldoc xmltype ;
    begin
       -- populate xmldoc from you xmldom function
       -- validate against XML schema
       xmldoc.isSchemaValid(schema_url, root_element);
       if xmldoc.isSchemaValid = 1 then
            --valid schema
       else
            --invalid
       end if;
    end

  • Calling a created Java file from an AIR application

    I've got a guy helping me out who is creating a Java file that outputs an F1 keypress to the operating system/desktop (which Flex alone can't do.
    My problem is I need to know how I can call/activate this file from within an AIR application. I want my app to be ready for when he has created it for me but I've never used Flex to call an application so I would not know what classes need to be called or if any script would be required.
    In the following simple code lets say if the Java file itself was called keypress.java (or whatever file extension a java file has) what code would need to be added in, including imported classes, to make the click of the button activate this java file?
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <mx:WindowedApplication xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml" layout="absolute">
    <mx:Button id="KeypressButton" label="Button" horizontalCenter="0" verticalCenter="0" click=""/>
    </mx:WindowedApplication>

    I think one solution is to use a Java proxy to call the Web services.
    In the Java proxy you can have a method that accepts the user/pass and sets them correctly for the Web service.
    Then you expose that Java proxy as a data control (right click, create data control) - and then create a page that invokes that method.
    (For the basics of working with a POJO data control see: http://blogs.oracle.com/shay/2009/07/java_class_data_control_and_ad.html )

  • Create(java.io.InputStream) in Scanner cannot be applied to (java.io.File)

    Ahhh!!!
    Ahem, when I try to compile the file below, "PhoneDirectory.java", I get the following compilation error message:
    PhoneDirectory.java:12: create(java.io.InputStream) in Scanner cannot be applied to (java.io.File)
        Scanner fin = Scanner.create(file);After quite a bit of tweaking... I'm right back where I started. I'm a seasoned programmer, as far as concepts are concerned, but rather new to JAVA.
    The error seems to be occuring where a new instance of "Scanner" is supposed to be created. It uses file I/O, and I had only used the Scanner class for the keyboard input in the past.
    Looking at the Scanner class, everything seems to be right to me. I'm probably missing some simple fundamental concept, and I've been pulling my hair out trying to get it... Please help me shed some light on this situation!

        This class does input from the keyboard.  To use it you
        create a Scanner using
        Scanner stdin = Scanner.create(System.in);
         then you can read doubles, ints, or strings as follows:
        double d; int i; string s;

        i = stdin.nextInt();

    Scanner fin = Scanner.create(file);

    Scanner fin = new Scanner(file);

  • Java code to create a new .txt file in FTP server  --- Help

    Hi,
    I wrote a standalone java app which creates a .txt file in my local machine and transfers it to FTP server. But my requirement now is to create a new .txt file with the same content in FTP server itself instead of creating locally with basic java code.
    I'm aware of transfering file from local machine to the FTP server using STOR command of FTP. But i never tried creating a new file & writing content into that in FTP server.
    So, if any one did this before please help me out with source code or any idea ???
    Thank you.

    thanks for your reply. yes i've seen the Apache Commons NET API , but there is no method or class to create a new file in FTP server. I'm really worried how to solve this problem ???Sure there is.
    There's a method where you can write data to a file on the server using an OutputStream, right? Well, instead of writing to a FileOutputStream, write to that OutputStream instead. Remember to close the OutputStream and call the method which says you're finished with the command (I forget what it's called).

  • Jbo.passivationstore set to file, but PS_TXN table is still being created

    I've an app with application modules all having jbo.passivationstore set to file, a la the below:
           jbo.passivationstore="file" However, when i test this, the app creates the PS_TXN table and PS_TXN_SEQ sequence in the database. From reading the doc, I'd expect that only if jbo.passivationstore were set to database.
    Is there some other setting that needs to be configured in order to make the passiviation handled outside of the database?
    am using JDeveloper 11g.
    Thanks for your help.

    Timo, just tried it, that didn't work - PS_TXN is still being created.
    i found that just deleting the names from the properties in the JDev UI had no effect. so i then literally set the attributes to empty strings as below:
    <Database  jbo.locking.mode="optimistic" jbo.txn_seq_name="" jbo.txn_table_name=""/>is there some other step i should take?
    thanks for the quick response.

  • Creating an exacutable jar file in netbeans

    Hey, how can i create an exacutable jar file in netbeans ?

    i guess you already have a project created, if you don't create a new java application project.
    Then you need to do the following:
    1. Set the main class. This is the class that will run first.
    for this you need to right click in the project node, select properties, then run and in the Main Class field put the main class.
    2. Set the classpath: you need to put all the libraries or resources you use in your project.
    to do that right click the libraries node, select properties, then add library and add all the libraries that your project needs
    by doing this steps netbeans will create your manifest file and the jar that will create will be executable.
    Hope this helps.

    My entities are working perfectly as they work, and have already been tested.
    ANyway, what i want is some help into getting my build.xml into making a jar file and sending that one instead of the the war file..
    Can someone please let me a link of where i should look ? Or what i should include in the xml file in order to create the file
    sTevoo.
    P.s - I am using netbeans 6
    Ps - I wasnt sure if i had to post here or in the Deploying - Java Archive (JAR) Files

            <echo message="Run ... ${jboss.deploy.dir}"/>
        </target>
        After a whole day of changing and tweaking and all .... this sort of works.
    Some more tweakong and done.
    Just in case any one else wants this,,,

  • How does the icon get created for a saved file

    In my program I allow saving files using JFileChooser and ActionListener.
    In the constructor of the main class which extends JFrame I also set an icon by saying:
    this.setIconImage(new ImageIcon("image.jpg").getImage());
    This does not only set an icon on the title bar and the minimized window, it also creates an icon on my saved files. However, the image quality for the icon on my saved files is bad, even though the image quality for the other icons is ok. The size of the icon image I am providing is close to the size of the icon image on my saved files.
    How did the icon get created for my saved files? Is it possible to improve the image quality?
    Thanks for looking at this!

    I just realized that
    this.setIconImage(new ImageIcon("image.jpg").getImage())
    did not create the icon for my saved files.
    So what did create it? I did not program it!
    However, I happen to have an icon file Ananya.ico where I have my java project. I use if for my installation file. Did Java use this icon?
    Please help! Thanks!

  • Creating shortcut to a file upon installation

    I want to create a set up program that could install all the files and create a shortcut to that file on the desktop....plz tell me how to do it irrespective of the platform used

    I need to do the same thing as you did. Did you get your problem resolved? For me, it is a general quesion which is how to create a shortcut to a file in Java.
    As to put it on desktop seems is easy, which is set it to c:\windows\Desktop.
