Create Process Flow

Dear All,
I had some mappings in my OWB and I don't want to run them individually, I want all of them to run at once in a specific order by a single click.
Should I create process flow to achive this? Do I need to install any thing to create process flow.
I tried to create process flow and get following error while creating its location:
"Connection failed.
Io exception: The Network Adapter could not establish the connection"
Please let me know, what is the problem.
Thanks & Regards,
Danish

When I install through Oracle Database home, I get following things for installation:
- Oracle HTML DB
- Oracle Database 10g Products
- Oracle Database 10g Companion Products
In last option, it installs Oracle HTTP Server and Oracle Workflow Middle Tier.
It do not have Oracle Workflow Server.
I had installed last option now and it has successfully installed. It has asked me to provide Work Flow schema and I had given WF as its name. But I am not able to find this schema in my database now. Do I need to explicitly create schema?
Please let me know,
Many Thanks,
Danish

Hi
I have never faced this before and thats why it baffles me. I am trying to create a new process flow module which has already been configured to the OWF_LOCATION(Oracle workflow location).
I get Java exception error window with long list of details which are rocket science to me.
I will paste few lines of the details as its a big trace

• URGENT: Oracle Workflow Error: API-10020 on Creation of OWB Process Flows

I am trying to use Oracle Workflow to create Process Flows, in order to link together various mappings and components in Oracle Warehouse Builder. However, in the process flow editor window when I attempt to drag an object such as a mapping onto the editor panel, I get an error message stating the below:
API-10020: Unable to determine if the map is a PLSQL or SQLLDR map, please correct the map or choose another map.
All my maps are in PLSQL, and the language setting is set to this. I have tried modifying the langauge settings to see if it makes a difference but with no luck. My colleague believes this is a known bug in Oracle Workflow and there is a patch available to correct it.
Can anyone help with this query please? Thank you for your time.

In some versions of OWB (10.1, 10.2) The mapping property will display PL/SQL, but will actually be set to NULL in the repository (which will cause PL/SQL to be displayed as default).
The fix is easy enough: in the developer navigator, right-click on the mapping and go to configure and set the generation language first to something other then PL/SQL (you should get an error) and then place it back to PL/SQL. This should force the GUI to reset the parameter.
Alternatively, use OMB*Plus:
OMBALTER MAPPING 'MAPPINGNAME' SET PROPERTIES \
(GENERATION_LANGUAGE) VALUES ('PLSQL');
Good Luck,
Robbert

• Creating Process Workflow

Dear All,
Dear All,
I had some mappings in my OWB and I don't want to run them individually, I want all of them to run at once in a specific order by a single click.
I read that i can do that with Process flow. Im using OWB 10.2 R2 so I tried to create process flow and get following error while creating its location:
"RPE-02053: The Oracle Workflow version cannot be retrieved. This may have been caused by an incomplete or incorrect installation of Oracle Workflow or the schema may not contain an Oracle Workflow repository. Please check the location details, reinstall Oracle Workflow, if necessary and try again."
But i dont really understand what this error means. Is there anything special i should act on?
its catched my eyes that as i was creating the Processflow module and so on, it was not possible to add it in the location where my target and sources are! I must created a new Location for the Process flow.
Please let me know, what i can do.
Thanks & Regards,

• Help with scheduling Process Flows in Workflow in 10gR2

Dear All
I am after some help with the scheduling of process flows (PF) in Workflow in OWB 10gR2. I am trying to set up some PF’s to handle the refresh of some staging tables from various source systems. I have created a separate Process Flow Module for each source systems, mainly just to keep them separate and organised. I have a number of mappings which all run fine if execute manually or linked directly to a schedule/job. The problem I am encountering is when I try to run process flows from schedules. I have created process flows ok and have run them manually and they complete fine so I know that the content of the PF is ok. After linking and deploying the jobs I can never get all the process flows to run from the various schedules. What appears to happen is that the first PF works ok and any other PF that are within the same Process Flow Module/packages also runs ok even if its running off as different schedules. However PF’s under the other Process Flow Module fail with the following error

Following this error the PF will not even run manually! If I then stop the schedule and either drop or replace this failed PF thus redeploying, the PF then runs fine manually and if the restart the schedule it runs ok the next evening. My problem is that this then appears to impact on the other PF’s which all though have not been touched and ran ok the previous evening they then fail the following evening with the same error

• How to chage the logical Name of a Process flow?

Hi,
While I am creating process flows, some times, I do copy of one process flow its creating copy_of_pf1 ( for the process flow pf1) and I am doing necerrary changes and updating the process flow name.
But in the backend, its maitining Physical name as the name which we have given ( which is visible in OWB) and the loical name is still Copy_of_pf1. Its not updating as with physical name. Is there any way to update this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Regards,
Gowtham Sen.

Also (without changing the naming mode...)....
If you click on any object in the main tree and select properties, the Translations tab will also have the business name for the object and any sub-object - for the languages you have installed.
This is useful for example for setting the business names for a dimension and its levels, hierarchies and attributes - you can set the names all from one panel, albeit hidden in the translations panel!
Cheers
David

• Documentation of process flow documents

Hello,
I've been using Visio for some time now, mainly creating process-flow diagrams. I've always documented them with a supporting,
independant Word document, detailing each of the corresponding process flow's steps. It would be great if there was a solution that exists which would allow me to document each step of a process
flow within the diagram itself (maybe using Comments associated with each shape), and automatically generate the supporting Word document, organised by
Process Number (i.e. 1.0; 2.0; 2.1; 2.2; 2.3; 3.0; etc.)?
I'm using Visio 2013.
Thanks,
Larry

I really don't think there is any way to automate that.

• Error registering Process Flow Location

Hi
I've installed OWB 9.0.4 and successfully registered
Process Flow Location.
Then i've added russian lang to Oracle Workflow Repository
After that when i try to register Process Flow Location
i get error: RTC-5327 Schema OWF_MGR does not contain an
Oracle Workflow Repository.
But i still able to deploy Process Flow Packages
using earlier created Process Flow Location.
Thanks

Vasily,
This sounds like the known bug 2836447: OWB REPORTS OWF REPOS NOT INSTALLED IF MULTIPLE LANGUAGES ENABLED. The bug was fixed in 9.2 and also should be in the next 9.0.4 patch (9.0.4.11).
The workaround for now is to run the following in Workflow Schema (owf_mgr):
update
WF_RESOURCES
set
NAME = NAME || '_' || LANGUAGE
where
TYPE = 'WFTKN' and
NAME = 'WF_VERSION' and
LANGUAGE <> 'US';
commit;
The following removes the workaround and restores the WF_RESOURCES table to their original state. This should be applied when the fixed OWB client has been installed.
update
WF_RESOURCES
set
NAME = 'WF_VERSION'
where
TYPE = 'WFTKN' and
NAME LIKE 'WF_VERSION_%' and
LANGUAGE <> 'US';
commit;

• How to set E-Mail Activitie in Process Flow

Hi All,
I am very new to OWB and i created process flow based on documents.Process flow run successfully.Now i need to set E-mail Activity to that process flow. i read some of links and help topics.But iam not clear.so pleaseme tell how to do.
Thanks,

Hi
You just add the Email icon to the palette and if a process runs sucess or error (depends on your transition). Just add the email icon and click on it. Fill in the necessery values, such as
From
To
Subject
Body
SMTP server.
If you have a mailserver installed on your machine - just enter "localhost".
Else you will need to use an existing email server.

My question is very simple : is it meaningful to create Process Flow in OWB without any installation of Oracle Workflow (or something else like OWF) ?

I have same question. In addition, I would like to know if we use 9.2 process flow editor, do we need to know work flow? I need this info to decide we our folks need training on Oracle Workflow. From what I understand, with 9.2 Process Flow editor, we may not need workflow product.

• Scheduling Process flows

I have created process flow and created and schedule and attached it to the process flow thru configure and refferred calander and depoyed the process flow again. But the flow doesnt start.
Is there anything else to do. I read in form that some _job appears in Control center. I dont find in my control center.
Can anyone explain me any other steps which are required to run PF based on schedue.
Thanks..

Hi Tom
You will find pfname_JOB in the control center. if you expand the location under which you created your Schedule, you will see a scheduled jobs tree expand that and then you will find your schduled job( pfname_ JOB) which requires deployment to start running.
Hope this helps

• ERROR deploying PROCESS FLOW

I encountered the following error while deploying
RPE-02085: Failed to test wb_rti_workflow_util.initialize through deployed Workflow
Database Link STG1@WB_LK_LOAD_STG. Please check that "EXECUTE ANY PROCEDURE" privilege
is set and that the OWB Runtime is available.
- ORA-06550: line 1, column 7:
PLS-00201: identifier 'WB_RTI_WORKFLOW_UTIL.INITIALIZE@STG1@WB_LK_LOAD_STG' must be declared
ORA-06550: line 1, column 7:
PL/SQL: Statement ignored
I set the "EXECUTE ANY PROCEDURE privilege to runtime repository schema as well as
runtime repository user. I still get the same error.
Please find below the steps I followed
1) Process Flows -> Locations
Created Process flow location with ORacle Work Flow and 2.6.2
2) Process Flows
Created Process Flow module
Created Process Flow Package
Created Process
validated sucessfully
generated XML code successfully
3) Deployment manager
Register the Process flow location in owf_mgr/Owf_mgr successfully
pre-deployment is successful
when deploying I encountered the above error.
I want to execute the process flow from deployment manager itself.
Please help me in solving this problem. URGENT !!
Thanks in advance

• Creating variables in Process Flows and using thse variables in the filter

Hi,
I am new to OWB and in learing stage. Need to information.
*1. as to how pass/create/use variables to OWB mapping ?*
*2. Creating variables in Process Flows and using thse variables in the filter operator of the OWB mapping?*
*3. Other mechanisms of how to create/use variables within OWB mapping itself ?*
can you please provide the above details and guide me / help me in this regard.
Thanks,
skms.

1. Add parameters to your mapping using the MAPPING INPUT PARAMETER from the pallette.
2. Add parameters to the START operator in the process flow. Bind the process flow parameter to the Mapping parameter.
3. May be appropriate to use CONSTANTS instead of parameters.

• Sale process flow of SBO E-Commerce - What documents are created in SAP B1?

Dear All,
Can any one please confirm the sale process flow of SBO E-Commerce, when a customer submits an Sales Order and pays the amount online?
I am mainly interested to know about the documents, which are created in SAP B1 after the said Payment against the Order through the Web tools?

As I understand it, out of the box WebTools simply creates a B1 Sales Order from a WebTools order during the scheduled synchronization.
If you are accepting credit card payments and have configured a credit card gateway (Paypal, Skipjack, etc), then you can choose to authorise the payment only for capture later or capture the payment immediately at the time of order. Neither of these events creates any document in SAP B1. You process the order as normal and post a payment manually as part of your workflow.
If you have a credit card add-on (CitiXSys or similar) installed and specified in the WebTools Synch Manager, the normal SAP B1 processing of the Sales Order (creating a delivery document) will trigger the capture of a previously authorised credit card payment, creating and posting an A/R invoice and an associated payment document in B1.
Hope this helps you in your question.
Cheers,
Dave Bragg
