Create ringtones for I-Phone 5

I have been told 'Myxer' and 'Ventones' are really easy and useful (and free!) to create ringtone for the I-Phone from your own I-Tunes library? I have tried 'Myxer' and for the life of me, I can access the ringtone I appear to have created  via "Apps" on the device screen but cannot get it into my ringtones folder ? Has anyone experienced a similar problem and overcome it? Is Ventones any better/easier? Regards Tony

  • Can't create Ringtone for iPhone

everytime I click on the ringtone symbol next to the song I want, it says that I need to accept the iTunes Store Terms of Service and that by clicking 'OK' it will direct me to that. Thing is, I've already accepted that and when I click OK, it does nothing. It's becoming a real pain..any ideas?

I sent iTunes support a note about that and although they didn't answer my question directly, they got me around it. For what's worth, it did work; however, now I have a new problem. Long story short, don't create more than one ring tone for now. I'll post my crap about that momentarily...
    Here's what they wrote:
First I want you to try to create a ringtone with the following steps:
    1) If you haven't already, upgrade to the latest version of iTunes, which is available free of charge on the iTunes website:
    http://www.itunes.com/download
    2) Open iTunes, access the iTunes Store, and look at a few songs. A bell icon next to a song indicates that you can make a ringtone from the song. The bell icon does not mean that the song itself is a ringtone. If you do not see any bell icons, choose View > View Options, select the Ringtone checkbox, and click OK. A ringtone column will appear and any eligible songs will have bells next to them. Purchase any ringtone-eligible song you like.
    3) Now click Purchased in the list on the left. If you do not see any bell icons, choose View > View Options, select the Ringtone checkbox, and click OK.
    4) Click the bell next to a song to begin making a ringtone. The ringtone editor will appear at the bottom of the iTunes window.
    5) Adjust the highlighted area to choose the part of the song (up to 30 seconds) you want to use as your ringtone. You can also choose to fade in or out the audio by clicking the checkboxes in the highlighted area.
    6) Select a "Looping" length, which will set the gap between each ring. Click Preview to hear your ringtone before purchasing. Once you're satisfied with your ringtone, click Buy. Your iTunes Store account will be charged 99 cents plus any applicable taxes. Any song credits or video credits that may be on your account will not be used toward the purchase.
    7) Your ringtone will appear in your iTunes library Ringtones playlist on the left side of the iTunes window.
    8) To sync the ringtone to your iPhone, connect your iPhone to your computer. In iTunes, select your iPhone on the left and click Sync. iTunes will automatically sync any ringtones you create. To sync specific ringtones, with the iPhone selected on the left, click the Ringtones tab, choose Selected ringtones, and click Apply. Check the ringtones you want to sync and click Sync.
Please note that any ringtones you have previously synced to your iPhone will be replaced with the ringtones that you are currently syncing from your authorized iTunes library.
To set a ringtone as your default ringtone, go to the Home screen on your iPhone. Tap the Settings icon, then tap Sounds. Tap Ringtone, then choose a ringtone. This will become your default ringtone.
To assign a ringtone to a specific contact, go to the Home screen on your iPhone. Tap the the Phone icon, then go to your Contacts. Choose a contact, then tap Ringtone and choose the ringtone. When that contact calls, you will hear that ringtone.
Please note that iTunes creates ringtones for iPhone only, and the ringtones you create with your iTunes Store account may not be transferred to other accounts. Also note that even if you create a ringtone from iTunes Plus (DRM-free) content, the purchased ringtone will include DRM-protection.

There is no current support for that. If you like to give Apple feedback and request this, go to http://www.apple.com/feedback/

How do I activate a downloaded purchased ringtone for my phone?

Go to Settings>iCloud and sign out. Any synced data, such as calendars and contacts, will be removed.
To get a new ID: go to http://appleid.apple.com and create a new ID - you will need a different non-Apple email address from any ID you already have.
Then go back to Settings>iCloud and sign in there, enabling any data types you want to sync in the list there. You will be asked to create a new @icloud.com address when enabling Mail.

  • After ios7 upgrade, I cannot select different ringtone for different phone #

I had set up different ringtones for specific phone numbers but after ios7 upgrade, all the phone numbers ring with the default ringtone. The ringtones are still individually assigned correctly when I look in the addresses book. I have even tried changing an assigned ring tone to something else & heard the new ring tone when it was selected, but when the number was called, I just got the default ringtone.
    Any ideas or solutions?

    Hello ccrjon,
Thank you for providing so much detail about the issue you are experiencing with Messages after upgrading to iOS 7.
The first thing I recommend is quitting and relaunching the applications on your iPhone:
    Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
You can find the full article here:
iOS: Force an app to close
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5137
If you are still seeing the same issue after quitting and relaunching the Messages app, I recommend restarting your phone and then resetting if it's still not working:
    Restarting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Note: Reset your device only if you are unable to restart it.
    Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
You can find the full article here:
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting

If the issue persists, the last thing I recommend is backing up and restoring your iPhone:

  • Creating ringtone for iphone

    Hello,
I created a ringtone for an iphone and cannot get it to the ringtones on the phone. IF this is a Garageband issue can someone please help?
I created the file and saved to my desktop. (The phone I want the ringtone on is not my phone so I could not "share" with my itunes) I was able to send this file to the person that needs it and was able to download to their itunes. I then was able to move it to the iphone ringtones on the phone when it is sync'd to itunes. But, when I go looking for it on the phone, I can only find it on the ipod part of phone.
Did i do something wrong in Garageband or do I need to take this to iphone forum?
    Thanks
    Jim

You don't need to move it to the iphone ringtones , you can directly Click "Share" on the menu bar and select "Send Ringtone to iTunes".

  • Creating ringtones for iPhone

I've bought a song from the iTunes store to use as a ring tone and have it in my iTunes library in the purchased folder. When I use iTunes/store/create ringtone I get an error message, "iTunes could not connect to the iTunes store. An unknown error occurred (11556) Make sure your network connection is active and try again."
Nothing else that needs the network is having a problem and I can re-connect to the iTunes store if I want to buy something. How do I get round this?

    Where are you?
Itunes purchased ringtones are available in the U.S. only at this time.
There are many free ways to make ringtones.
If you type "ringtone" into the forum search bar you will find countless posts on this.

  • Create Ringtones for iPhone from scratch

I have a college song in iTunes--downloaded from the web--not from the iTunes store. I want to use part of it for a ringtone on my iPhone. The Ringtone Editor lets one do that if the tune is bought at the iTunes store--but they do not have this song in their inventory.
Is there any way I can edit the music--take the chorus from the song--and make it into an ringtone that will work with an iPhone??

You could bring it into GarageBand and create the ringtone there. See:

  • A simple way to purchase or use an itunes song for a ringtone for I phone 4S.

I have tried to use two different apps which had a video to show you how to use them.  The trouble is the instructions do not match my screen all the way through.  I need simple instructions please.

Not every song will have a ringtone available, they're designed specifically to be ringtones (i.e they're the catchiest 30 seconds of the song) so if they haven't made one it won't be available i'm afraid (this is where you would have to use an app).
As an example of one that has one, searching "Read all about it" finds you a ringtone of that song. It's under the "albums" section once you search.

  • Creating ringtones for the n70 with itunes

the pc suite doesn't seem to like my itunes files - when i click on a file, i get as far as the album title, but the individual songs don't show up on screen. i'm not very computer literate, so can anyone tell me if i need to convert itunes files to another format before pc suite will recognise them, or am i just doing something totally wrong?
i'm with t-mobile. thanks in advance

switched my itunes to mp3 format, put an album on it, same problem. i can't think what's wrong.
the tutorial and the phone manual are exactly no help whatsoever. i don't know why electrical companies bother with manuals at all, the level of assumed knowledge in them is unreal.

  • Creating Ringtones on itunes for iPhone

I have been trying to create ringtones for my iPhone from itunes.
But every time I try ti great it, it comes up with an unknow error 1156. and says that itunes cannot connect to itunes store.
Is anyone else is also facing this problem?

    This worked for me...
In iTunes, right click on the song you are going to make into a ringer and select “Get Info.”
Go to the options tab and go down to the “Start Time” and “Stop Time” check boxes. Check both boxes and input the time you want your ringtone to start/stop. The ringtone has to be 30 seconds or less. Click OK when you’re done.
Right click on your newly “clipped” song and select “Convert Selection to AAC.” The song will be re-encoded using the start and stop times determined (If your menu item does not read “Convert Selection to AAC” and reads “Convert Slection to MP3″ (or some other format) please go to iTunes > Preferences > Advanced > Importing and change the “Import Using” drop down menu to “AAC Encoder”).
After the song is done encoding navigate to your iTunes Music folder, locate your song, and drag it to your desktop. After the song is on your desktop go back to iTunes and delete the clipped version from you iTunes library (It won’t delete it from your desktop, it will only remove it from iTunes).
Go back the song on your desktop and right click on your song and chose “Get info.” Go to the name and extension section and change the extension from .m4a to .m4r (or you can just change the extension right from your desktop)
After the extension is changed simply double click on the file to add it to your iTunes library under the ringtones section. Sync your phone with iTunes and you’re done!
What you need to do is turn on "View File Extensions" under your folder view options.
Then go to your desktop right-click, rename and change the .m4a to .m4r and sey yes when it asks if youre sure.
