Hi guys,
I am typing the following commands bellow: (ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_SID is set up correctly).
#sqlplus sys/<sys-password> as sysdba ==> worked very well, of course !

Can i perhaps add Operating system environment variable to DATAFILE value somehow? I don't want to create tablespace with full file path, starting from drive name and ending with file name. You can use variables in dbca when you create a database (I already can hear you say you don't want that)
You can also use Oracle Managed Files for the entire database ( I already can hear you say you don't want that)
You can not use relative paths, which begs the question why you don't want to use an absolute path, assuming you seldomly create a tablespace.
I don't want to see posts like yours with unjustified 'complaints', yet I do respond to it.

Any way to create tablespace with name greater than 30 characters ?
Is there any way to create tablespace greater than 30 characters on solaris 10 and Oracle 10g. Any way ? because i have no other option.
desc dba_tablespaces
So clearly the answer is NO.
Tablespace names are invisible and irrelevant. Why the question? -
How to create a view object and attach with extended AM
Hi,
I tried to create new vo and attach this vo with the extended AM. But it is throwing error like 'PC.NAME : invalid identifier' (Actually this PC.NAME is exiting one).
Now i want to know how to create a view object similar like seeded one but with one additional condition in the where clause.
It is possible though extension, but i want to create two view object similar like seeded one, one with some other condition in the where clause
and another one with some other condition.
So for my requirement, i'll extend one VO and i'll add my condition but how to do it for second condition.
But i want same seeded VO with two different condition.
Any suggestions please,
SANSAN,
There is no need to attach the newly created VO with extended AM. You need to attach the same with the standard AM.

SO IDOC inbound create SO with reference to INV or SO #
Hi all,
I have a situation where I will get the inbound SO IDOC, through IDOC_INPUT_ORDERS and create a sales order with reference to a invoice number or another sales order (eg: consignment pick up and consignment fill up).
Except modifying the standard formed BDC in the FM, by adding additional screen code into the BDC, is there any other way to do so?
(eg: assign value into certain field in IDOC? Using another IDOC FM?)
Please advice.
Thanks.
Best Regards,
JLHi ,
At a high level, the IDOC processing executes in the following manner:
1. Interpret IDOC header segments and captures organizational, customer master and purchase
order header details. Performs user exits for each segment to process customizations to data
processing.
2. Interprets item level segments and captures item level details like material information. Again, it
performs user exits for each segment.
3. Sums up the order data and determines the posting criterion viz. creating order with reference
etc.
4. Builds up batch data communication sequence (BDC) with respect to the required screen
sequence of posting a sales order.
5. While building up the BDC data, system performs user exit to process customizations to BDC
data.
6. Calls transactions VA01 using the BDC data.
7. If the processing fails, an appropriate workitem is generated for workflow processing.
User Exit - ZXVEDU03
This user exit will be performed after each segment read in the IDOC processing function module. Exit is called during the perform interpret_idoc_orders in the idoc processing function module. The exit is executed before the BDC data building process and it is here where the invoice number would be retrieved into a variable from segment E1EDK02.
IF SEGMENT-SEGNAM = 'E1EDK02'.
IF SEGMENT-SDATA(3) = 'Z43'.
Save the you Number XXXXXXXXXX into a temporary variable.
Endif.
Endif.
User Exit - ZXVEDU04
In the function module IDOC_INPUT_ORDERS, form call_va01_new_orders is performed wherein BDC data is built up for every screen required to post a sales order. User Exit ZXVEDU04 is performed at various stages during the built up of BDC data. It is here in this user exit that a coding needs to be performed to insert BDC data for assigning sales order to the invoice
The BDC data for assign to invoice should be added soon after the BDC data for purchase order type is generated. The following BDC data logic should be coded in the user exit to facilitate assign to invoice
if you give me brief i can help you out more.
if helpful REWARD points
Thank you .

Not able to Create TABLESPACE PSAPROLL|PSAPUNDO with 728 MB
Hi Experts,
When i an trying to upgrade PI 7.0 to pi 7.1 with EHP1 in checks roadmap in abap it throws error like
ERROR> Insufficient free space in the database as follows:
Create TABLESPACE PSAPROLL|PSAPUNDO with 728 MB

In the location

These are examples for brspace commands to extend/create the required
tablespaces. You can adapt them according to your own needs.
Add option '-c force' to call the commands in batch mode.
Change option '-autoextend' to 'yes' and set '-maxsize' and '-incrsize'
to create autoextensible segments.
brspace -function tscreate -tablespace PSAPROLL|PSAPUNDO -owner SAPSR3 -size 728 -autoe

with the help of this above command i am not able to create the tablespace.
My Existing tabelspaces are
PSAPSR3
PSAPSR3700
PSAPSR3DB
PSAPSR3USR
PSAPTEMP
PSAPUNDO1
SYSAUX
SYSTEM
Plz help me on this ASAP.
Thanks,
HariYour real problem is that PSAPUNDO does not exist. For an unknown reason you are using PSAPUNDO1. so, you must fix this:
shutdown your DB.
rename tablespace PSAPUNDO1 to PSAPUNDO. this can be done with:
brspace -c force -f tsalter -a rename -t PSAPUNDO1 -n PSAPUNDO
you will also need to change parameter undo_tablespace to PSAPUNDO
if using initSID.ora, change this manually. or else, do this:
alter system set undo_tablespace=PSAPUNDO scope=both;
you might need to restart your database.
good luck. -

You could use import option show=y to capture import run statements and find CREATE TABLESPACE statements. Keep in mind your target database already has undo, temp system, etc. tablespaces so you do not need to precreate them. Then rerun import.

I applied and received an upgrade code to Redeem Mountain Lion for my new MBP.
I get this message when I try to Sign in to the App Store after entering the redemption content code, and also if I just try to "Sign In". The first part of the error is true - I haven't used the AppleID with the iTunes store.
I received the upgrade code using this same AppleID, so I don't think I can use a different AppleID.
I also tried to re-create this appleID...(it was one suggestion I saw for this issue) It doesn't let me since the ID already exists...
The error is:
"This Apple ID has not yet been used with the iTunes Store. Please review your account information." I click "Review", next message "You must turn on cookies to continue. Cookies must be enabled if you want to create or edit.. etc."
It's clearly not a cookie issue.. Stuck...The first part of the error is true - I haven't used the AppleID with the iTunes store.
Try here > Using an existing Apple ID with the iTunes Store and Mac App Store
received the upgrade code using this same AppleID, so I don't think I can use a different AppleID.
Correct.
It's clearly not a cookie issue..
As for cookies. Quit the App Store. Now open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder.
Type this exactly as you see it here: ~/Library/Cookies
Click Go the move the com.apple.appstore.plist file from the Cookies folder to the Trash.
Relaunch the App Store. -
Create table with storage parameters in a locally managed tablespace
Hi,
Can we create object with storage parameters in a locally managed tablespace.
CREATE TABLE my_hash_table_6 (
name VARCHAR2(30),
value VARCHAR2(4000) )
STORAGE (
INITIAL 1M
NEXT 512K
PCTINCREASE 0
MINEXTENTS 2
MAXEXTENTS UNLIMITED )
users default tablespace is locallly managed.
Then this table's extent management will be managed as per the tablespace or as the storage parameters which
were specified at the time of table creation. Why don't you try it yourself ?

Geotagging - how can I edit new places that I have previously created but with typos, errors etc? How do I delete a place I have set up? Then I could create a new, correct entry. I'm using iPhoto '09.
Is it OK to reply to my own question?? Thanks to the related posts that appeared AFTER I'd made the post above, I learnt about the 'Manage my places' item under the Windows menu. I felt a bit dumb not knowing this.
BUT it doesn't completely resolve the issue. The info shown in the EXIF (using opt-cmd-I) under Places has the place name I choose, but it is followed by a few other lines that are incorrect and do not seem to be anything to do with any data I can see under 'Manage my places'.
Can anyone explain where these other entries might come from, and how to edit them? -
Can anyone recommend an alternative software programme to Pages? I have an OS X 10.7.5 macbook pro, so I am unable to get it. I want a programme that I can create docs with pictures and text on, invitations, posters etc. Many thanks in advance…..

Create user with select privilege only one schema
can someone tell me how i can create user with select priviliges only one schema.
i don't want the user to have any select privileges with other schema.
can someone advise me.
ThanskIn general, you would do something like
CREATE ROLE abc_read_only;
FOR x IN (SELECT * FROM dba_tables WHERE owner='ABC')
LOOP
EXECUTE IMMEDIATE 'GRANT SELECT ON abc.' || x.table_name || ' TO abc_read_only';
END LOOP;
CREATE USER your_user ...;
GRANT abc_read_only TO your_userYou create a role, grant the role SELECT access to all the tables in the ABC schema (you can extend this to grant access to views, functions, etc depending on the requirements), and then grant that role to your user.

ORA-15005 when creating tablespaces
Database oracle 10g
OS Redhat EL4
Using RAC and +ASM
Hi
I created a load of tablespaces with specific datafiles.
create tablespace whatever datafile '+DATA01/etc/etc.dbf' size 100M
I then realised I had mixed up all the datafile names so dropped them all
drop tablespace whatever;
After this I fixed up the naming and tried to recreate the tablespaces but get the following error
ORA-01119: error in creating database file '+DATA01/etc
ORA-15005: name etc/etc is already used by an existing alias
Any ideas how I get rid of these so I can start again?
Thanks for help in advanceHi,
you should drop the alias first.
ALTER DISKGROUP dgroup# DROP FILE '+dgroup/etc/etc.dbf';

You state you are trying to locate the tablespace's datafiles in a new file system where no files should exist.
