Created template does not hold
I designed a template (with the proper font - Times New Roman, size - 10 point, style, margins) so that I can copy and paste from various news sources; it works great when I use Camino as my browser. Every article get printed with the defaults as set up.
However, when I use either Safari or any versions of FireFox, nothing seems to take as the template was designed. What ever font the original article has gets copied over to the template; whatever line-spacing is there gets copied as well.
Nothing gets forced to the defaults as I set it up!
My question is: what is there in either the browsers or Pages that allows this to happen? Why does the template act differently from browser to browser?
Appreciate any input and help.
As I said, all Cocoa apps, such as Safari, retain the original formatting. It is part of the programming in OSX and has the opposite behavior to what was standard in the classic Mac OS.
Camino appears to not be using the standard Clipboard routines.
There are no settings in OSX to stop this behavior.
If you want to lose the original formatting and adopt the formatting of the destination text, then you have to +Paste and Match Style.+
Make your own keyboard shortcut for this if you don't like Pages'. You could even swap the keyboard shortcuts in Pages, so that *command S* is +Paste and Match Style,+ but I think that could lead to future problems. As much as you or I may not like it, Apple creates the standards.

All is fine except the background image in the table at top (has the words florida shuffleboard in it) does not show in the template. The menu gets included fine and so dies the florida flag and shuffleboard symbol just not the picture with the words in it.
Can someone tell me why and how I fix it?

I get the following error when I try to create a Virtual desktop
collection;
"The Virtual desktop template does not meet the provisioning requirements."
although I'm specifing a sysprep'd VM installed WS2012 for a virtual desktop template.
Is there any way to resolve?

would you restrict the provisioning to only the desktop operating systems that you won't allow partners to license for deployment?
Are there any plans to change this to include 2008 R2 or WS2012 as the base OS for a VD template?

Importing element definition from an EDD into a template - does not work
FM 10.0.1 German on Windows XP SP3.
When importing the element definitions from an existing EDD into an existing template, FrameMaker converts the template into a new EDD.
So the element definitions which are correctly defined do not appear in the template.
The highest level element is than ElementCatalog in the template and not the higherst lvel element defined in the EDD.
In FM9 this was no issue.
Any help is appreciated, I have a deadline and must do some changes in the EDD.

EDD is english (Version FM7.0), Interface language is German.
Maybe it´s a localization issue.

No question the behavior you describe is a bug. However, I am unable to
duplicate it. I created an EDD with two element definitions:
Element (Container): doc
Valid as the highest-level element.
General rule: (
When I imported element definitions from this EDD into a new portrait
document, FM reports that element a is referenced but not defined and that
b is defined but not referenced. However, with all elements listed, the
element catalog shows a, b, and doc. The metatemplate elements are not
available.
I wonder if this is a language-dependent problem. Is your EDD German or
English? What about your user interface?
Can you send me a short EDD that fails as you've described?

DBCA in silent mode gives "template does not exist" error
We successfully created a database using the DBCA in silent mode like this:
dbca -silent -responseFile dbca.rspThen, attempting to create a second database on the same machine with a slightly different response file, we get the following error:
dbca -silent -responseFile dbca.rsp2
Template General Purpose does not exist. Please specify an existing template for database creation.The "General Purpose" template was used in the original database creation. It does exist. No logfile is created. Any ideas what could be causing this?We never did get to the bottom of the mysterious "template does not exist" error, but went with a solution that is better:
1. we used the already-existing database to create a clone template:
dbca -silent -createCloneTemplate -sourceDB OLD_SID -sysDBAUserName sys
-sysDBAPassword XXXX -templateName old_sid_copy.dbc
-maintainFileLocations true
-datafileJarLocation /local/opt/oracle/product/10.2.0/assistants/dbca/templates (Note the use of the -maintainFileLocations switch)
2. edited the template file, replacing all instances of OLD_SID with NEW_SID
/local/opt/oracle/product/10.2.0/assistants/dbca/templates/old_sid_copy.dbc
3. create the clone using the new template
dbca -silent -createDatabase -templateName old_sid_copy.dbc
-gdbname NEW_SID.MYHOST.COM -sid NEW_SID
-datafileJarLocation /local/opt/oracle/product/10.2.0/assistants/dbca/templates

Getting "Table %TEMPLATE does not fit into window" error
Hello,
I am trying to print a form to an old EPSON DFX-9000 dot matrix printer and am getting the error message Table %TEMPLATE does not fit into window".
This only happens when I go to that printer. I can print fine to a laser printer.
I have tried creating a new device type and copying over the format from the laser printer, playing with the format, changing formats, ect.
I have adjusted the size of the window that my template cannot allegedly fit into but still no luck. I have checked the height and width of the template and the window many, many times and still get the same error.
Has anyone seen this before? Please help. Thanks.Hi James,
You need to see the width and height of the Page Format which you have set in Form Attributes of your smartforms.
What ever you create should be within this width and height .
So accordingly adjust the width and height of your windows and components within them

My iPod Classic 120GB makes a clicking noise when syncing with iTunes and will not sync. It will not turn on at this time and has been charged but does not hold the charge. After trying to sync, iTunes states that iPod must be restored. Have tried to do this but not successful, I receive an error code and have done the troubleshooting steps for the error and I am still not able to sync or use my iPod. HELP?

Restoring your iPod to factory settings is the best way to try and get it back to working order. You can use the instructions below to restore it:
How to restore iPod
Verify that you have an active Internet connection, because you may need to download new versions of the iTunes and iPod Software.
Download and install the latest version of iTunes if necessary.
Open iTunes. Connect your iPod to your computer using the USB or FireWire cable that came with your iPod.
After a few moments, your iPod will appear in the Source panel in iTunes.
Select your iPod in the Source panel. You will see information about your iPod appear in the Summary tab of the main iTunes window.
Click Restore.
If you are using a Mac, you will be asked to enter an administrator’s name and password.
A progress bar will appear on the computer screen, indicating that stage one of the restore process has begun. When this stage is done, iTunes will present one of two messages with instructions specific to the iPod model you are restoring.
Disconnect iPod and connect it to iPod Power Adapter (typically applies to older iPod models).
Leave iPod connected to computer to complete restore (typically applies newer iPod models).
During stage two of the restore process, the iPod displays an Apple logo as well as a progress bar at the bottom of the display. It is critical that the iPod remain connected to the computer or iPod power adapter during this stage.
Note: The progress bar may be difficult to see, because the backlight on the iPod display may be off.
After stage two of the restore process is complete, the iTunes Setup Assistant window will appear. It will ask you to name your iPod and choose your syncing preferences, as it did when you connected your iPod for the first time.

Battery shows charging but stuck on 28% and does not hold charge
i am using HP DV6-6107tx, i got a new extended battery from anker which seemed to be running fine untill it discharged while i was playing watch dogs.
now my laptop wouldn't power on just on the battery, everything works fine if it is on charging, but the battery does not hold charge and my system powers off immediately on removing AC adapter. the battery shows "28% Charging" but does not increase or decrease the percentage even after hours of charging both while system is on and off.
i checked the battery in battery test from HP Support Assistant and it says that the battery status is ok, now i have tried the below methods with no luck :
power off and press power button methods.
uninstall and reinstall battery from device manager methods.
battery check from HP Assistant.
updating Bios to F.1b method.
updating the HP Support Assistant.
and all the other methods i could think of or read on HP's site.
can anyone guide me as to what is the issue here ? i don't have another machine to test my battery on, the charging lights are fine except that the light does not change color which it did on full charging the battery. i did try on 2 different adapters.
now if it were a motherboard or IC issue, would it not have said 'not charging' in windows ? in my case it says charging.

That you for provided such a detailed post with what you've already completed, for the issue with your battery. I will try to guide you further.
I would like to provide you further documents for troubleshooting, but you've essentially completed what I have for this issue. The only step left, would be to test the battery.
You can do this with another battery, or in another notebook. I know you mention another machine, but if you know someone who does or someone who has a compatible battery. This would test that. You could even see if a local computer shop could test it.
The reason for this, is if the battery is the problem, it's much easier and more affordable replacement. Also, you mention it being new, might have warranty.
The other possible cause to the issue you've touched on, that would be the system board. Testing the above, would just confirm if this is the problem or not. From there you could decide on what you'd like to do.
I know, there really aren't many suggestions here, but I hope this can provide you with the next step.
Let me know how things go, with the route you choose to troubleshoot.

It should work longer, but it's worse. My battery does not hold a full day without much use.
When the new version of ISO6 will come ??? A lot of apps don't work correctly too.... :-(
I'm a little bit disappointed...Sounds like your iPhone is locked to your home carrier.
See if they offer unlocking and if you qualify. Otherwise,
there is nothing you can do besides rent/but a cheap
phone for your month in Argentina. -

In MS Outlook 2010 Add in Create pdf- does not create pdf of draft emails- this maybe the case, but just wanted to make sure this is normal for the program- though I guess one can print as an Adobe pdf but it does not maintain the hyperlinks of email addresses etc. the functionality is compromised in a print vs create a pdf.
Here's a workaround by the team:
Right click on the message from Explorer list view or folder view and chose the option to convert to PDF. -
Security create-keychain does not add the keychain to search list

It seems that since OS X Mavericks the security create-keychain does not add the keychain in the search list. I tried calling the SecKeychainCreate directly to verify that this is not a bug in the SecurityTool (the result is the same). Could you please help me verify if this is expected behavior or more like a bug that was not reported?
Is there other way to create a keychain and add it to the search list except modifying the whole search list (for ex. using the security list-keychain)? I would like to concurrently create more than one keychain and modifying the whole search list does not seem like a good practice, becuase it introduces a race condition.
P.S. I tested this in Yosemite and the behavior is the same.

Please get the web site designers to fix this forum. There is no Z30 "place" and there is an error message that shows up every time.
The specified template does not exist or is emptyMake sure the SharePoint Server is joined to Active Directory. Also validate that the Web Application Application Pool account is running as a Domain User (rather than say Network Service).

MY new Ipod Nano does not hold a charge. I use it mostly as a watch, perhaps look at it 5 or 6 times in 8 hours, and leave it in sleep mode the rest of the time. I drains to the red line in less than 2 days. My husband's nano will last a week this way. I thought it drained because of looking at photos, so I quit looking at them and it made no difference. Am I doing something incorrectly to cause this short battery life?
You are still under warranty if your iPod is "new." Take full advantage of it by either calling iPod tech support, Apple Care if you have it or take it in to an Apple store or an AASP. Whichever is more convenient for you.

2 Create bindings in 1 page, second Create event does not fire (ADF)
I have an ADF, Struts, JSP master detail page and within that page there is a Create binding on the master view and this works fine.
I added the detail list to the page and added a Create binding for this view underneath the list.
The second create event does not seem to fire at all, when the button is clicked the page gets submitted and the request forwards to the correct page to display the input form but the contents of this form is the current selected detail row in the view and not a new row.
I have created 2 new pages to test the detail view... I put a link in the original page to a test list page that displays the detail list and included a Create binding in this page which links to a test create page and this works fine.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Can there be only 1 Create event binding in a single page?
Is there a way round this other than having to have my detail page on a seperate page?

AlCan you do something like this?
1. Look at the uimodel for your page and find the Create that is the action binding for the detail. Name it something like: CreateDetail
2. Change the button on the page to create a detail to be named: event_CreateDetail.
3. Change the forward from Master/Detail browser page to: CreateDetail
Can you provide more details on:
1. What are the names of the create bindings for master, then detail?
2. What is the name of the forwards, that is the struts-config.xml action definition for this page?
