I have CR XI, This should get you started.  in the Chart Expert (data tab) On change of dropdown, use Severity and Status, in Show Value(s) use sum of count, then to get the orders correct, click on the severity selection, click on order, select specified order, pick the selections in the order you want them to appear, you will need to do this with Status as well, to get the colors, click on the color highlight selection and add a highlight for Open and one for Close.

  • How to create stack bar chart on answers that shows % and counts?

    Hello guys
    I currently have a table that have several columns, each column represent one product name, and one column name "units" indicating how each product is sold...
    The requirement is to create a chart view with stack bar that shows the percentage of each product''s unit sales.
    Now we are discussing whether we should customize the table to consolidate all these product columns into one "product desc" column with all the product names as row in order to fulfill this requirement..
    PLease let me know whether this is needed or not... ALso, how would I be able to create stack bar charts that shows the total sales against each product sales in percentage and counts?
    Please let me know, I really appreciate it

    I tried to do this and was a bit successful. I used the paint catalog. Created a a request with 6 columns assuming units and dollars be stacked and Year ago units to be a line:
    Brand Units Dollars 0 Year_Ago_units 1
    Added a new request (Combined with similar request and selected paint subject area): Now in this request my columns are:
    Brand 0 0 Year_Ago_Dollars Year_Ago_units 2
    Assuming Year_Ago_Dollars be standard in your case.
    Created a chart view with brand and 1 on x axis and Units, Dollars, Year_Ago_Dollars on y axis and line as Year_Ago_units.
    Now able to see what I am expecting. May be you need to tweak a bit more according to your requirement.
    Let me know if this is of any help!
    Thanks.

  • Creating floating bar charts in Numbers '09

    I have what seems a fairly simple requirement, but can't quite work out how to do it in Numbers...
    I have a set of price ranges (quotes) and I want to put them on a graph, so I can see at a glance how they they tend to fall.
    Ideally, I'd like the X axis to be price and the Y axis to be basically nothing - each quote gets its own line.
    So I'm after a stack of horizontal bars indicating the from - to price range.
    It doesn't seem that this should be too onerous, but I simply can't spot an appropriate graph type.
    Anyone?

    I am trying to picture what you mean but I can't seem to. But I'll give it a shot.
    EDIT: I wrote all this then re-read your post and this isn't what you were asking for. Oops.
    All charts (graphs) need X's and Y's, though the Y's could be all be the same constant value. So the data you need to plot is a column of quotes (X data) with a column of 1's or checkboxes (Y data) next to it. I am guessing that you want your quotes to be spread across the X axis, not spaced evenly like they are in the bar charts. Otherwise you probably wouldn't be asking. You have two choices on how to do this.
    First way:
    If you can create a list of evenly spaced quotes in the header column (A) with a column (B) of checkboxes next to it, you can use a bar chart. You would put a check next to any quote you want to appear on the chart. So you might have a column with quotes of $1, $2, $3, etc with checkboxes next to each which you can check/uncheck. This probably isn't practical in this case but I don't know your data so I'm throwing it out there.
    Second way:
    Have a non-header column (B) of quotes and a corresponding column of 1's. Create a scatter chart. This will give you data points, not bars. In the Chart Inspector, Series tab, click on Advanced and add error bars to the Y axis. Make them negative only and 100%. Set the data point symbol to None. Then go to the Graphic Inspector and change the error bars so the line type is a straight line, the width is greater, and the color is what you want. This still isn't a bar chart but it is more like one.
    There are variations on the second method. You can remove the Y axis gridlines and value labels so you have a single horizontal line (the X axis). You can plot 0's instead of 1's and make positive, fixed value error bars.

  • In BI Answers, show X axis series/unit in bar chart that has null data.

    Hi,
    I am showing data for each day of the week as a bar chart. Days of the week are the X axis. Sunday

    Has anyone got any ideas?

    This will most likely need to be a modification in your RPD if not your data source. It can be accomplished in the RPD though.

  • Creating 'Bookmarks Bar' entries that contain multiple URL's

    As a new user of Safari, I noted that the default 'bookmarks bar' contains two items ('Apple' and 'News') that have their own dropdown menus of sub-links.
    As with 'Apple' and 'News' I would like to be able to put items on the bar that offer a choice of different URL's.
    How can these be created?
    Thanks.

    Click on the book icon at the left end of the Bookmarks Bar. This opens the Bookmarks Manager.
    On the right you'll see the various collections of bookmarks, including "Bookmarks Bar". Single-click on this item.
    On the right side you'll see the two folders you mentioned in your post. Additional folders can be added by clicking on the + button at the bottom of this section. Name the folder. Then start adding the URL's. This can be accomplished by:
    Click on the Book Icon to return to the regular browser window.
    Type a URL address in the address window
    Click on the book icon to return to the Bookmarks Manager
    Drag the URL to its applicable folder.
    Or, if URL's already exist in the Bookmarks Manager collections, you can copy/paste to the applicable folder.
    If you have existing bookmarks from another browser, say Firefox, you can import them into Safari using the "import bookmarks" command in the File Menu. From there you can move them to another folder, or copy/paste them.
    Let me know if you need any further clarification.

  • Bar chart query - bar subdivisions.

    Hi,
    I have created a bar chart that is subdivided into two colour reb and blue representing the values yes and no. a count of these yes and no's are performed and displayed on the bar in their appropriate positions.
    I am wondering how i could subdivide the bar once more by not only having a red and blue subdivision to represent yes and no, but have the red subdivision divided into 2 colours where one division represents 'big' and the other division represents 'small'.
    the bar chart i chose to create initially is a stacked bar chart. (im assuming this is the correct one to continue using for this)
    if i go to chart expert->data-> in the 'on change of' section , i have a formula which represent values on the x-axis and i have the field from the database which contains the values 'yes' and 'no'.
    in the 'show values' section, I have the field from the database which contains a formula for the count of the 'yes's and 'no's.
    the formula i ysed for this is:
    if ({MyDB.yes/nofield} = 'YES') Then
    1 else 0
    can anyone help me with this problem (as i am in dire straits with this one)
    thanks.
    J

    Hi James
    If  the group is on a database field, then you won't be able to manipulate the legend howver if it is a formula field then you can put the values that you want to see in the legend.
    Or you can create a mock legend with text boxes and the desired values.
    Hope this helps!!

  • Drill through from Bar Chart.

    Hi,
    I have a requirement and am having a difficult time coming up with a solution.
    I have a custom table thats gives me the amount values for Costs, Commitments and Budgets by Project. So the columns for this table are Project, Budgets, Costs, Commitments.
    I have created a bar chart that displays each of these amounts and the Project is the measure.
    The requirement is to drill from each of the bars directly to their own specific reports.
    I added the navigation path for these detail reports in the Chart Properties. Doing this allows me to click on each bar but it displays the list of the Navigations that I set inthe Chart Properties eg (it shows a List like
    Cost Details
    Commitment Details
    Budget Details) .
    When I select any report from the list it does take me to the Report I need.
    What I want is to be able to Click on the Costs Bar in the Chart and it should take me directly to the Costs Detail report, instead of selecting the Report from a list.
    I have been racking my brains to get this resolved, but have not come to any solution.
    I have tried adding the navigation path directly on the Costs column, that seems to work for the table view but not the Chart view.
    Any inputs are greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Lavina

    Thanks Aravind,
    Setting the navigation path in the Chart Interaction tab does not get me the desired result. It will work for one bar and one report.
    When I click on a bar, it does not know which report to go to if there are multiple navigation paths (which is my case).
    When I click on the bar , it shows me a list of reports that I can select from, but I want it to be that when I click on a bar it should directly go to the report
    Thanks,
    Lavina

  • Create a Simple Bar Chart - Numbers

    I would like to create a bar chart in numbers that totals line items by month and displays a bar chart by month.  Column A has dates associated with the other columns of the spreadsheet running horizontal.  Does the charts functionality have a tool that would count by month, or is there a formula that can be used, or would applescript be needed to run the count?
    hope this makes sense.  Thanks in advance.

    Thanks for the response.  So the simplest view of the chart is below.  I would like to have a bar chart that would just total line events by month.  From the below example, august would have 2 and september would have 1.

  • Creating a chart that has one series as a scatterplot, and another series as a column plot?

    I need to create a single chart that has two different series: one as a scatterplot, and another as a column plot. Please, I really have no idea how to do this, I know it's possible with excel, but I'm new to numbers and haven't figured it out yet, despite my best efforts. Thanks, any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi sy',
    Scatter charts are the only type of chart in Numbers that have two Value axes. All of the other charts are Category charts, and have a single Value axis and a Category axis.
    The two types can't be combined.
    You can produce a combined line and bar chart; these are both category charts. The two can share the same value axis, or each can have a value axis with a scale and range different from the other.

  • Data values on Bar Chart in a BI Publisher report (11g)

    I have a bar chart that I created via the layout editor in BI Publisher 11g, and I'm displaying the data values on the chart. That part works great. However, we're noticing that the chart adds zeros to the end of the data values depending on the length of the number being passed to the chart. My data item is a number that is 5 bytes in total, with 2 decimals. If the data value is *10.10*, the data displayed on the bar chart shows *10.10*. But when my data value is *1.10*, the data displayed on the bar chart is *1.100*. And if my data value is *.10*, the bar chart displays *0.1000*. The bar chart adds zeros to the end as the number of characters to the left of the decimal decreases.
    I don't see a way to make it not do that. Has anyone else run into this, and been able to change it?

    Basically what are you trying to do :
    Attaching Mutiple Data Definition to a XML Program and deciding which one to call ased on parameter.Sorry you can not do that one Data DEfinition per Report.
    ut there is one way of doing that.
    Create multiple data defintion( mutiple programs) and then a master program something like
    IF Master Program Param1 = 'X'
    call BI Program 1
    ELSIF Master Program Param1 = 'Y'
    call I Program 2....
    End IF;

  • Help required in order to produce a bar chart

    Hi,
    I want to create a bar chart. The first column I have is a label - the year. The second column is a frequency.
    If I highlight both columns, I get both variables plotted as values against the same y-axis. If I highlight just the frequency, I get that plotted, but have Untitled as the label for each column.
    I'd like a bar chart with each column labelled with the label in the first column. Can you take me through the steps needed to achieve this?
    Many thanks,
    Tris.

    Hello
    As I'm not really fluent with English, I tell you that detailed explanations are given in the Help in a chapter entitled: "About Charts"
    As values must be in a header to be used as labels
    and
    as a header can’t be used to display values defined by a formula,
    it’s necessary to use an auxiliary table in a mixed way.
    I assumes that we have a table containing most of our datas. I name it « main »
    I use an auxiliary table named « 4chart ». In this table the column A is a header one.
    As it can’t display formulas, the year values are typed here
    A1 2007
    A4 2010
    In the main table, the block of cells we want to chart is C3 :D6
    In C3 enter a formula grabbing the value of aux table’s A1
    C3 =4chart :: A1
    fill down until C6
    In D3 thru D6 I enter the values.
    Back to the auxiliary table.
    enter the formula
    B1 =main :: D3
    fill down from D3
    thru D6

  • Stacked Bar Chart

    Hi I would like to create a stacked bar chart in my report.
    It will have 2 dimensions and 1 Measure.
    Dimension 1 = Month
    Dimension 2 = Sales Item
    Measure = Sales_quantity
    I can't find anything in the user guide.
    Is this possible ?

    I am not sure what you understand as a "stacked bar chart" - There is a chart type "stacked bar chart" that we support. So you can have the Month as the x axis and the Sale Item as the different data sets.
    We are using the Oracle BI Beans XML description for our charts. The BI Beans chart builder helps to define the tags - that is stored in the Web Alternate Text of the Image that is included by the chart builder.
    The tag for the graph type is:
    <Graph graphType="BAR_VERT_STACK"/>
    To show 2 dimensions you need to modify the code the following way
    1) Adjust the row count
    <LocalGridData colCount="{count(xdoxslt:group(.//ROW, 'MONTH'))}" rowCount="{count(xdoxslt:group(.//ROW, 'SALESITEM'))}">
    2) Show the labels
    <RowLabels>
    <xsl:for-each-group select=".//ROW" group-by="SALESITEM">
    <Label><xsl:value-of select="./SALESITEM"/></Label>
    </xsl:for-each-group>
    </RowLabels>
    3) Add multiple rows for the SALESITEM in each column (MONTH) in the data section.
    <DataValues>
    <xsl:for-each-group select=".//ROW" group-by="MONTH">
    <RowData>
    <xsl:for-each-group select="current-group()" group-by="SALESITEM">
    <Cell><xsl:value-of select="sum(current-group()/Sales_quantity)"/></Cell>
    </xsl:for-each-group>
    </RowData>
    </xsl:for-each-group>
    </DataValues>
    The code stehms from an example I did recently for multiple line charts - so I made have some typos in there - from changing hte names. Hope it helps and you get it working.
    We should support the stacked bar charts in the builder, but it is only recently that
    people cared about the charts...
    Good luck,
    Klaus
