FSG - How to define a 'static' period

hello:
we are using Oracle Financials FSG and i need to setup a column set that has 12 STATIC months - for each month of our fiscal year. that way we can do comparisons to the same month in the prior fiscal year.
in other words, i want to define "January 2008", "February 2008", etc... and have them display the totals for that month (PTD) balances, along side "January 2007", "February 2007", etc. balances, with variance.
everything in the column set seems tied to the POI (Period-of-Interest) which varies depending what period you use when you run the report. this means it's variable and i would like it fixed.
is there a way to do this?
thanks

Hi ,
If you are in R11i , it's not but possible in R12 as per the below notes . Please check

  • FSG - how to put a constatnt period in column

    Hi,
    How to setup in FSG for example one column with month june-2010 permanently?
    I do not want to use the predefined columns in FSG in application and do not want to define the column references to previous periods (eg -1) couse it could change depends on boot parameters.
    Is there any solution?

  • How to define a Value for an Attribute of an Class

    Hi,
    How to define a Value for an Attribute of a Class ...
    ( I need to change the value of an Attribute of a class in standard program ....
    Ex...
       cl_hrce_masterswitches=>infotype_framework_is_active
    Here infotype_framework_is_active is the attribute .. its value in standard program is 'X'... Now i need to change it as '  '.
    How to define it and set value as ' '.

    Hello Surendar
    The static attribute INFOTYPE_FRAMEWORK_IS_ACTIVE is read-only and there is not SETTER method to manipulate its value.
    However, the attribute is filled in the CLASS_CONSTRUCTOR:
    METHOD class_constructor.
        IF ce_is_active                 = true OR
           global_payroll_is_active     = true OR
           mngmt_global_empls_is_active = true.
          infotype_framework_is_active = true.
          perid_infotype_is_active     = true.
        ELSE.
          infotype_framework_is_active = false.
          perid_infotype_is_active     = false.
        ENDIF.
    ENDMETHOD.
    Thus, you need to analyze how attribute CE_IS_ACTIVE, GLOBAL_PAYROLL_IS_ACTIVE and MNGMT_GLOBAL_EMPLS_IS_ACTIVE are filled in the CLASS_CONSTRUCTOR.
    For sure you will find customizing settings that are responsible for this.

  • How to use the static lib of berkeleydb in VC6?

    I know there is a libdb45s.lib. But when I try to link my project to it, VC6 reports many errors. Even the getting start examples cannot link correctly. The documents coming with berkeley db do not tell me how to link project to the lib, no matter static or dynamic.
    Could anyone tell me how to use the static lib libdb45s.lib and how to link it properly?
    OS: Windows XP pro SP2
    IDE: Virsual C++ 6.0 sp6
    BDB: 4.5.20
    Here is what I have done to link the libdb45s.lib:
    1.Add BDB related diretorys to VC6 link/lib dirs
    2.Add #include <db.c> to my .cpp file, I use the C API
    3.Change Project Options
    Link-> Libs/Objects-> add "libdb45s.lib"
    C/C++-> code generation-> Use Run Time Library-> MutiThreaded
    Link-> Ignore Library-> MSVCRT
    4.Build, here is the output, hope it would be some help:

    There are 2 concepts attached to a bank balance. The balance as per your books of accounts and another is the balance maintained with the bank. I believe i need not explain these 2 concepts. These 2 balances can be obtained from Oracle system provided some of prerequsities are met with.
    Balance as per your books - This is nothing but the GL balance available. In order to obtain balances for each bank accounts, it is advised that each bank account should have a separate account code combination. This is achieved generally by having a separate natural account for each bank. The code combination is attached to the cahs account for each bank. By maintaining separate account code combination, the balance in each code combination can be obtained from GL (provided transactions are accounted and posted in GL). These balances represent the balance for each bank according to your books of accounts. You can create an FSG for this purpose and provide the same to the customer, so that they can run the same whenevr they want.
    Balance as per bank - This balance is maintained by oracle in 2 ways - either the bank balance can be manually entered for each bank account for each date (quite cumbersome). Else, while loading the bank statement, the bank balances are also loaded. There are various types of bank balances stored - value dated balance, available balance, float balance etc. Depending on the balances provided by bank along with the bank statement, the bank balance can be recorded in oracle system. After the bank statement is uploaded and balances stored, standard cash management reports are available to query for the bank account balances. In order to view daily movement, the bank statement should be loaded on daily basis.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to define mapping from multiple files to Oracle Tables in 9i

    Around 100-200 Flat files are created every 30 minutes and each filename is different - Filename has datetime Stamp as part of the file name apart from the product code as first 12 characters.
    Can anyone guide me in How to define mappings to these files using OWB ?
    What I can do is consolidate all files into one known single file name and map the files to Oracle tables which I don't want to do because I need to reject errorneous files.
    Can anyone provide me some tips on this ?
    Thanks in Advance.
    Sohan.

    As you know, in OWB you need to define the flat file source in a 'static' way (name, location, etc. have to be defined previously), so you cannot deal directly with dinamically generated file names. One solution would be to consolidate them into a single file (which you can define statically in OWB), but prefix every record with the filename. In this way it is easy to understand from which file the rejected records came from. If you are using unix, it is very easy to write a script to do this. Something like this will do:
    awk '{printf "%s,%s\n",FILENAME,$1}' yourfilename >> onefile
    where yourfile is the name of the file you are currently processing, while onefile is the name of the consolidated file. You can run this for all files in your directory by substituting yourfilename with * .
    You can then disregard the file name field in OWB, while processing the rejected records based on the file name prefix by using unix utilities like grep and similar.

  • How to define a constant in TSQL ?

    I need to define a group of int constants and use them by a group of functions .
    so how I define a constant ?
    and how to make it accessible by multiple functions ?

    Hi,
    I am guessing that you are developer by your nickname, so i will add something for developers :-)
    This is actually a good question and the answer is that you can use database (and this is where this forum come to help you, and
    Kalman Toth gave you the basic answer), but if your need is for application that you are developing then there are several more option which you need to check what is best for you.
    define a group of int constants in application can be done:
    >> Using database table (best for big collection or a Collection that you need some changing)
    >> Using ini file (very useful for constant Collection)
    >> Using app config file (useful for constant Collection, remember that changing the file will restart the app and all users sessions will end in some cases)
    >> Using static class
    and so on
    I hope this is useful :-)

  • How to define challenge password (SCEP) manually in windows 2008 Enterprise CA

    reference doc (I can't past link, so I just list doc name):
    Network Device Enrollment Service (NDES) in Active Directory Certificate Services (AD CS)
    ==
    The doc said this one-time password is random.
    We can modify Registry to change password length and valid time.
    But I can't find how to define this password manually.
    e.g.  I want to set 3 password in password list/cache : aaaaa, bbbb, cccc.
    Someone know how to does this ?
    Thanks.

    I am a bit late to this post, but I wanted to point out that a single, static SCEP password is common in the SMB market. In order configure it:
    Configure service to function in a single-password mode by creating a REG_DWORD value UseSinglePassword and setting it to 0x1.
    Give Full Control permission to the account used to run NDES for the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Microsoft\Cryptography\MSCEP registry key. This step only required if you have installed KB959193 hotfix.
    In the IIS Manager snap-in, navigate to the SCEP application pool and in Advanced Settings set Load User Profile to true.
    If you’ve configured NDES to run under some user account, logon interactively with that user account onto the machine where NDES is installed to force creation of a user profile for that account. This is a one-time operation, the user doesn’t need to stay
    interactively logged on while NDES is running.
    After above steps are complete, the NDES will use only one password for all certificate requests. This password can be obtained in the same way as a one-time password by going to the admin page of the NDES. Administrators can deploy that password to their
    devices in an automated way.

  • How to define shift

    how to define shift?

    Do the following setting in spro for Shift:
    Define Shift sequence in SPRO(Production>>> basic Data>>>work center>>>capacity planning>>>Availabale Capacity>>>define shift sequence)
    In this step you define the following:
    Grouping
    Using the grouping you can create shift sequences and shift definitions for special areas (for example, different plants or different areas of a plant) and when maintaining the available capacity choose from between work centers.
    Work break schedule
    Here you define parameters that describe the individual work break schedules in more detail, as for example:
    Start
    Finish
    Break times
    Shift definition
    Here you define the parameters common to several work centers that describe the individual shifts in more detail, for example:
    Start
    Finish
    Break times
    Validity period of a shift
    In Logistics (LO) you can reference daily work schedules from the personnel system (HR). If you reference a daily work schedule in LO from HR and this is changed in HR then this change has a direct effect on changes in LO.
    Shift sequences
    You can assign the shift sequence of a capacity category as the available capacity at the work center.
    You define a sequence of shifts per weekday. The shift sequence represents a collection of shift definitions.
    In capacity planning the system uses the predefined values from the shift definition to determine the available capacity of a work center.
    The system calculates the following values:
    the capacity
    the actual operating time for the capacity
    Standard settings
    The SAP standard package contains settings for various shift sequences.
    Activities
    You should define the following:
    1. groupings
    2. shift sequences
    3. shift definitions
    4. work break schedules
    Assign this in work center capacity tap, under intervals and shifts.

  • How to change the Validility period of the cost element

    Hi All,
    how to change the validity period of the cost element. In tranc code Ka02 only the text is allowed to change but i want to change the validity period of the cost element.
    best Regards
    stephen

    Hi All,
    Thanks for your response...........
    My  concern is, i have a document posted to 43100 GL Expense acct, which is also defined as cost element, GL field status G004(cost accts). But when the original document is posted no is no assignment of any cost object.
    But i have to reverse the document and when i use FB08, the reversal is popping up with error " Assignment of CO object is neccesaary " Assign the cost center.
    Is there any way we can update the cost center for posted docuemnt? if so how? and can i make the cost element invalid for previous month so that it will not ask for cost object and change the field status of the GL from g004 to G001 only for reversal and set it back after posting is done.
    Appreciate ur feedback and suitab;le points are rewarded with points.

  • Oracle VM - defining a static network

    Hi,
    I'm not sure if I'm thinking about this right or not, but I'm trying to define an interface on a VM that uses a static ip address. I'm doing this through the web services API, but I would be happy to better understand how OVM does networking.
    In any case, I'm calling the addNIC command which requires a VM and a NICconfig. The NICconfig has a place for IP address, netmask, etc. Here is an example set of args I provide:

    However, when I do an ifconfig -a on the VM, there are two main issues:
    1. The eth0 interface looks to be preconfigured, but does not show up when I query the interfaces on the VM
    2. The eth1 has the MAC address provided above, but does not have the IP address or netmask set
    Some side questions:
    * what are appropriate values for "frontEndName"?
    * can Oracle VM generate a MAC address for me using the API? If so, how? I tried to leave it empty and got an error indicating that it must be provided.
    Thanks in advance,
    John

    jxstanford wrote:
    That makes sense (not that it's proper). I'm basically seeing what you described which is an initial interface that shows up in vm.cfg, but not in the OVM GUI. I'm still struggling to define a static interface with an IP address. When you mass create your VMs, are you using DHCP to assign addresses, or do you have a solution for setting up a static IP address?I have a solution: I use a source text file that contains data like server hostname, IP address, netmask, static routes, etc. I then cycle through each VM and loop-mount the system.img itself. Once mounted, I inject the configuration details into the appropriate files on the disk (like a ninja!). This is possible for both normally partitioned and LVM-based virtual disks, though the LVM stuff requires a little bit more work to enable/disable the volume groups each time. If you ping me at my [email protected], I can send you the (very dodgy) script I've been using so far.
    Note however that this is something that Enterprise Manager's VM Management Pack can do in a GUI environment: You are able to mass create/configure guests using EM and it will use the same mechanism to inject IP configuration data into the guest prior to boot. It can also auto-configure EM agent as well.
