Creating a new product group for SOP

We have SOP set up in our system .When i am trying to create a product group with material as a member , i am getting error , what is this ? Any help
The field  is defined as a required field; it does not contain an entry

Procedure
Transfer a suitable value.
If the field is the material group or unit of weight, and the field is not ready for input, check whether the material is locked. If it is locked, you cannot extend the Purchasing view or the Sales view. If either of these views needs to be extended, the material must first be unlocked. This can be done only by a user with special authorization. Contact your system administrator.

For information on locking and unlocking material master records, see the SAP library documentation Material Master (LO-MD-MM) -> Locking Material Master Records.

Hi,
Check mandatory field and sales and purchase view in material master.
Please check authorization for it aslo.
Go to tcode OMSFIX and un check if any field is checked for lock relevant.
this will open the field in MM01 and you can see the required field,
You can unlock the material in transaction MM02 (You will find "Unlock" icon in the application tool-bar).

    sorry but my english isn't the best so i try an answer again and hope i'm on the right way:
    Step by step guide for example client 100 and 200 on the same system. System 100 has usergroup test001 and client 200 has not.
    1. call sq03 in client 100
    2. pick the transport truck
    3. pick radiobutton [Export] and and radio button [Transport user groups] fill in the field [User groups] with test001.
    4 Execute and write(copy to clipboard) down the transport number
    5 logon to client 200
    6. call sq03
    7.pick the transport truck
    8. pick radiobutton [Import] and radio button [Transport user groups] fill in the field [Dataset with imports] with the transport number.
    9. Execute
    After that your user group should be in client 200.
    If you want to transport between different systems you have export the transport request first.

  • Error while creating Product Group in SOP

    HI Gurus,
    When I am trying to create the product group in SOP in MC84 , I get follwoing error.
    "Product group cannot be created (batch input error 7)  Message no. MA218"
    how to slove this?

    Basically if there are mismatch in the Field selection and fields visible in MC84 you would get this error.
    The workaround suggested by SAP is to create a product group using MM01 with material type PROD, latter on using the change product group transaction MC86 you can assign its members.

    why do you need to create a new business group? To implement HR? If so, linking a HR responsibility to your user, is one of the few steps to go anyway.
    How you did it on the test environment?
    Why not link a hr resp to your user temporarily, and disable it later.
    I'm always afraid to answer this kind of questions, since the real requirement is not described.

    It all depends if the data source was originally co-located on the same replica shared with other data sources. If not then DPM will simple re-use the same replica and pick up where it left off.  If it was co-located, then the old replica and RP
    volume is shared and the RP's will expire as new ones are made on the new replica and RP volume created when it's re-protected.

    I have upgraded to OSX 10.7.2 on my MacBook Pro.
    How can I create a new contacts group  using addresses in my Address Book?
    The idea is to use the group to send emails to a bunch of people without having to write them in individually.
    (Before, on on OSX 10.5, I went into my Address Book, clicked on the left to  "Add a Group" and then slid in the contact files I wanted to include in the group.

    Open adress book with 2 pages exposed and reach the position with the groups listed on the left page.
    In the bottom left corner there is a "+" ... just click on it
    Even easyer... press shift command N

    I need to add custom condition tax type, i tried creating the condition in OBQ1 and add that condtion in FI pricing OBQ3, now I want to confirm what is basic conept means whenever we create on condtion in OQB1 and add in OBQ3.
    i need to add that in Sales order and need to maunally populate that in the sales order.

    Hi,
    Goto the T.Code "V/06".Create one new "Z" condition type.
    Maintain the Condition Class as "D(Taxes)".
    Calculation type as "A(percentage)".
    Cond. Category as "D(Tax)".
    Select the tick mark for "Group Condition" if it is applicable for you.
    In the next step assign this condition type to your pricing procedure by using the T.Code "V/08".
    Also maintain access sequence by using the T.Code "V/07" and assign it to your Condition type.
    Now this condition type will appeared in your sales order after maintain teh condition records.

         In addition to the amount, enter a percentage rate in the Percentage field. The lower of the two limits applies. If you only want to use absolute amounts or percentage rates, you have to enter maximum value in other fields. Ensure that you define these limits for your G/L accounts and your employees. The lower of the two limits applies.
    Credit Account

    We need to create material group for  roll shop spare parts service,we created a new material group.
    when we are creating PR/PO with item category as D and a/c assignment K( entered cost center here).its giving error message
    as RC= 3M8 47 Account determination for entry JSL KBS J001 not possible(while making service entry sheet)
    after that i changed PR/PO and gave cost center and G/l account.now the service entry sheet is accepted.
    is it necessary give G/L account manually,if user chose wrong G/L account how to avoid this problem.
    please clarify me,
    do we need to assign valuation class for material group for services?(where to assign)
    or
    should assign G/L account manually to cost center while creating PR/PO

    Option-1:-- >
    Without creating material group and you can use your other service material group(existing service material group) and  create a service master  in AC03 as spareservice. Create a Service PO with text as roll shop spare parts service with other details as required like quantity of service, cost center & G/L account etc. After service being completed you can do SES in t.code: ML81N
    Option-2:-- >
    If you want report at the end based on different material/service group level, you can create a material/service group in OMSF for roll shop spare parts service and then you can assign to valuation class to material group in OMQW t.code. Then carry out regular process service order, SES etc.
    Based on requirement, you can enter G/L account manually or can set default G/L account in purchasing document with help of t.codes: OMSK, OMQW, OME9, OMGO & OBYC
    For error u201CAccount determination for entry JSL KBS J001 not possibleu201D, you cannot assign KBS transaction/event key to an account in OBYC t.code. Only you can assign G/L account to cost center with your CompanyCode in OKB9 t.code. Check the SAP note: 364570 & 106981

  • Creating a NEW Business Group, NO Security Profile generated

    Platform : R12 running on Linux86 --> FRESH install ( NOT Vision db )
    Resp : Global HRMS Super User
    Problem : No Security Profile generated for NEWLY created Business Group
    After creating a NEW business group ( ie. BG1 )
    I am able to see both BG1 and Setup Business Group ( I an view both Business Groups via Organization screen)
    When I access the Security Profile screen using the same resp "Global HRMS Super User"...
    I can ONLY see the default security profile ( Setup Business Group )...
    I am NOT able to view the default security profile ( BG1 ) that should have been created when I created my new business group earlier.
    NOTE : If I use the VISION db, and do the exact same thing... I can see both Security Profiles.. and both Business Groups.
    If I use the FRESH db, I can see both Business Groups... BUT... only 1 Security Profile... ( Setup Business Group )
    WHY ??

    hi charlie i tried the same in my vision instance, i am able to view my BG at the security profile level,
    when you query the system profiles,have you enabled the display checkbox at the responsibility level and try, or create an new responsibility and try... let me know the navigation you done clearly,

    We have a requirement to add a new BP grouping for an existing role(Retailer- ISM001) which enable us to create a BP in the retailer role with a different number range. So we created new grouping and customer account group and assigned a new number range.The problem is that we created BP with the new number range but in change mode it shows only the general data.System not showing the company code and sales area datas.
    Note: Integration is BP to Customer

    As you mentioned we checked the configuration, but it is quite okay. We normally create BP with the same settings. You mean to say that we need to change the configuration under u2018Configure Field Attributes per activityu2019 for the new BP Grouping we created? Could you please explain little more about how BP Grouping (Newly created) links with the above mentioned customizing activity? Isnu2019t this customizing common in create, change display activity irrespective of BP Grouping?

    You may create own calendars for special purposes as e.g. Sport's, secret events, hobby's and so on.
    As iCal allows to share calendars, you want eventually not share family events to others or if you manage a circle you may only share the "Homebrew" calendar with them.

    Hi,
    the issue has been investigated in the customer system.
    You're trying to create a table extension using EEWB and the table has 55 fields and each field has checktable.
    EEWB creates for each field with checktable 2 function modules. However, there is a limitation that one function group
    can contain only 99 function modules. That's why you got the error.
    Possible solutions can be following:
    1. Design question: Do you really need checktable for all fields? Do you need all 55 fields in one table? Otherwise, you can split it into two tables.
    2. Instead of using checktable, you can also use domain fixed values. For that you have to define your own data element and domain with fixed values.
