Very simply  ;=))) Just create a hierarchy of products, nodes of products groups and the products themselves. Everything is to be created in one frame.

    Hi,
    I have setting for Elim.inventory as below :
    In menu "posting item", I set "Finished Good" as an inventory item. And in the folder "Offsetting Item", I set "Net Sales" for debit side and "COGS unrealised profit on inventory" for credit side.
    After that,
    I input AFD for inventory managing unit (cons unit AA) => book value = 300 USD
    for Supplying managing Unit (cons unit BB) => Gross Margin=25%.
    Then I execute tas for Elim.inventory.
    It create journal as follow :
    Dr   Net Sales                     75
    Cr   Finished Good                       75
    Dr   B/S current Year Profit   75
    Cr   P/L current Year Profit           75
    <b>Is that journal correct?</b> because my accounting user said that it should be as follow :
    Dr   Net Sales                      300
    Cr  COGS unrealised profit             225
    Cr   Finished Good                          75
    <b>The other question  is :</b>
    How to set the "freight cost"  ? and what are the journal like ?

  • How to set up product group for IPI?

    Hi all,
    Currently, i am working on SEM BCS project. The consolidation process involved elimination on profit & loss in inventory (IPI). Understand from SAP help, there is requirement to set up product group.
    a) Can anyone tell me the detail steps involved in setting up the product group in ucwb? 
    b) Does the product group has relationship with MM module (eg material master)?
    Any response will be greatly appreciated!

    b). These product groups don't linked to MM. It's just some arbitrary classification. Certainly, if you wish, you may make it as close to MM's classification as possible.
    a). To set it up is very easy and ordinary: dbl click on Product Group, in the new frame right click - create (a hierarchy). In the ''Nodes not allocated create groups you need, drag and drop them into hierarchy.

  • How to map Product Group for the Materials in BW.

    Hi All,
    We have an requirement for one of the report called as Progress validation Report.
    We have to craete thsi repotr which would pulll out Inventory value, Production Plan value, Total Lates, Current week deliveries and WIP for a quarter.
    Cube whihc provides details about production plan has data by Material, plant and product group wise.
    But rest of the cube from which we extract the key figures does not have data by Product grop wise.
    Product group is been picked from PGMI table in R/3.
    How I can related the materials  which are in other cube to the respective Product group.
    Material and the relevant prdoct group data doesnot flows in BW.
    There is even a scenario where ahve seen a material falls under 2 product groups..
    PLease guide as how i can realted already existing materials in the Cube to the product group.

    Hi,
    Product Group is master data for material master. It is part of Matreial Clssification data in R/3.
    Please check if you are having the same already loaded as attribute of Material master. I guess it will be there, if it s not there then you should try to load the same in material master object which you are using in all the cubes.
    If the maintinenece in master data is nopt possible then you got to populate the same in cube.
    There will be a combination of keys (materail/plant/prduct family etc.. ( for which Product group will be unique). then load product with the help of these key combinations in all the cubes via update routine.
    There is one more way to have this but which is performance intensive.
    You may create one master data object called Product Group and keep material number as attribute (with compunding all other key fileds to get the unique combination). Then you may create an infoset using cubes and this master data object. Join the materail numbers in all. Display this object in report.

  • SEM BCS - Multple group currencies

    Hello everyone,
    I would like to share a scenario from my current implementation.
    We decided to perform currency translation in FI and bring the translated numbers into BCS. Group currency would be USD.
    At the same time this client has local GAAP requirement. They want to perform consolidation in their local currency. There will be a separate hierarchy for this group of companies in BCS.
    I know we can have multiple group currencies in BCS. How do we set up multiple group currencies in a single consolidation area?
    Can anyone come across similar situations?
    Would you please share your ideas?

    We have SOP set up in our system .When i am trying to create a product group with material as a member , i am getting error , what is this ? Any help

    Transfer a suitable value.
    If the field is the material group or unit of weight, and the field is not ready for input, check whether the material is locked. If it is locked, you cannot extend the Purchasing view or the Sales view. If either of these views needs to be extended, the material must first be unlocked. This can be done only by a user with special authorization. Contact your system administrator.

    Hi,
    Check mandatory field and sales and purchase view in material master.
    Please check authorization for it aslo.
    Go to tcode OMSFIX and un check if any field is checked for lock relevant.
    this will open the field in MM01 and you can see the required field,
    You can unlock the material in transaction MM02 (You will find "Unlock" icon in the application tool-bar).

  • SEM-BCS: Cons Group Field Required for Inter-Unit Elimination

    Hi!
    I need help.
    I need to use document type for manual postings that allows me to indicate the cons group field.
    I understand the PL10 is cons unit dependent only and not cons group.
    I know that PL12 allows cons group posting.
    But from what I understand PL12 is not captured in the inter-unit elimation task.
    Is there other way?

    Thanks for the helpful response.
    However I want my manual entries related to inter-unit elimination to reflect in one cons group only,  considering that we have different hierarchies in our system.
    The manual entries related to I/U elimation is basically an adjustment to the intercompany accounts. The purpose of my manual entries is to minimize the value of the difference of my intercompany accounts.
    for example: (before interunit elimination)
    Company A has intercompany accounts receivable of 100 USD with trading partner Company B
    However, Company B recorded 50 USD intercompany payable with trading partner Company A. Company B has understated figure of 50 USd
    To manually adjust in the BCS system,  I'll post in Company B debit inventory and credit intercompany payable 50 with trading partner Company A.
    Question is I want my adjusting entries to relfect only at the top hierarchy (one cons  group) and not at the other cons group
    Is there a way?
    Please advice.

    For intercompany transferred of inventory at profit, there are two elimination involved:-
    - Unrealised Sales
    - Unrealised Profit & Loss
    In SEM BCS, elimination of unrealised profit & loss is handled by IPI. How about unrealised sales?

    You cannot post directly to clearing items. That's why you get the error. The only possibility is to do it with reclasses on 01-10 level of postings without the doc type assigned.
    But you don't need it. AFAIU, you try to make entries for unrealised profit in inventory? Then  the entries you make should be as following:
    DR COGS (or any other cost/expense account) in P&L
    CR Inventory (B/S)
    The system will automatically add:
    DR Clearing item in B/S
    CR Clearing item in P&L
    It's how the clearing items work.

  • Product Group capacity can not be seen in MF50 output

    Dear All,
    I can not see the product group in 'total capacity' subscreen in output of planning table MF50.
    In MF50 the input parameter i am entering is product group and plant.
    In the scheduling tab of input parameters detailed scheduling and capacity planning is tick.
    For some product groups i can see in output as "Product Groups / Total Capacity" and also in the rows below it shows "Prod.Grp XYZ" then requirement and available quantity rows. After which the production line rows follows.
    For some product groups when enter in initial selection screen of MF50 with same input parameters in output i do not see Product group but i can see "Total Capacity Data" and then the rows starts with production lines. But no information on capacity of product group.
    The setup of all product group is same and are created with MM01.

    Thanks for reply.
    In 'Control Tab' i am not selecting any parameter. So in output i can see all materials  in 'Material Data' section which are included in product group  irrespective of requirements.
    I have issue in upper half section of 'Total Capacity Data'. I can see the different production line rows with Requirement / Available rows with capacity values in each period. Unit is %.
    But i do not see 1st row for Product group row with 2 subsequent rows (requirement / available) with unit KG.
    I can see these rows only for some product groups but not for all.
    For the product groups for which i do not see these rows have capacity requirement in selected periods which can be seen in same output in production lines rows. (where selection in input screen is product group and plant)

  • Error while creating the product group by MC84

    Hello Friends,
    I am creating the product group by MC84, and in product group field i have given the product group name i.e P2345, and its description i.e product group for waluj, plant i.e cw01 and Base unit i.e KG.Now when i press enter system is throwing the error"The field is defined as the required field;it doesnot contain an entry."Message no.MG144.And with this error system is placing the cursor on product group field.As i have already given product group name than also system is throwing the error.
    Though i know the alternative method to create product group by MMO1 and selecting the material type PROD, then also i want to know why system is throwing the error while creating the product group by MC84.
       Please guide.

    This message says that you have not entered a mandatory field.Enter proper values for all mandatory fields and then you will not get this error.
    Try to create the product group as material of material type"PROD"
    Then you go on adding the memebers in SOP Transaction.
    In some of the versions of SAP it is the problem.
    I have also faced this problem in some versions.

  • How to assign a Sales Org and Product group

    all the config have been maintained (creating the hierarchies/categories, assign the set types to categories etc.) under IMG->Cross-Application Components->SAP Product.
    Also assigned the set type for sales data/product group for category MAT_DIEN.
    But the fields from these section are greyed out when I try creating a product (not able to assign the sales org, or product group)

    One way is:
    Maintain the required setting in T. Code: VKOA.
    Another way is:
    Create an Internal Order (T. Code: KO01) with required Field-entries in
    Tab: Assignment --> Profit Center; and
    Tab: Period-end Closing --> Cost Center ( or G/L account).
    and attach it to your Sales Order.

  • MIC's of finished product should get transferred to Semi-finished product

    Hi all,
    I have the following requirement
    Based on the Customer requirement, sales order will be created. Two line items will be created in the sales order.
    First item: 100kg
    Second item: 5 kg (this will be the sample to be sent to the customer for approval)
    first item and second item will have different material codes.
    Now the process order will be created,released and confirmed. 04 inspection type will be activated for the material.
    The MIC's of the finished product ( A) should get transferred to the semi-finished product (A1)
    For X customer the MIC's for finished product (A) is a1, a2 and a3 and same should get transferred to semi finished product (A1 )
    For Y customer the MIC's for finished product (B) is b1, b2 and b3 and same should get transferred to semi finished product (A1 )
    The material code for the finished product will be different, but the semi-finished product (A1) will be same always.
    When ever inspection lot gets generated the MIC's of the finished material should get transferred to semi finished product
    Kindly provide your valuable inputs to address this scenario

    I think I understand what you are attempting to do.  The bottom line is that you are trying to use one material number to serve as the "sample material" for all your products.  Lets call the sample material mrtrl# 9000122.
    You have a make to order process so you first create a process order for the product and inspect it according to the customer's requirements.  You make the UD.
    Now when you make product A, you want those characteristic MIC values to copy to the sample material 9000122 inspection lot which is created from a separate process order using product A as the raw material.
    When you make product B, you want those MIC charcteristic values to copy to the same sample material 9000122  to an inspection lot created from a separate process order using product B as the raw material.
    I am guessing the intent is to keep the batch number the same between the FERT product batch number and the sample material.
    I would like to suggest to you two other alternatives which I'm not sure will work for your design but I think it is worth a try and might save some work. 
    1)  Have you looked at setting up your sample product as a by-product of the first process order?  You can confirm the finished qty and the sample qty from the same original process order.  This will then create your two 04 inspection lots.  You would recrod results on the first primary product. Then enter results recording and I think you'll be able to have that set up to copy over the resutls from the primary product.  If you can't with the standard SAP, I beleive you'll find the ability in copy inspection results to add your own custom FM that would do the copy for you that you are looking for.
    Of course the inspection plan for the by-product sample will have to have all the characteristics in the plan that could ever be expected from any primary product using this process.
    2) The other possibility would be to just have the person making the UD on the primary inspection products inspection lot, to post a sample qty "to other quantity".  They would always of course post to the sample material.  If the characteristics in the lot match up to general characteristics in the batch class for the sample, the resutls will be transferred to the batch.  Report your sample reuslts from the batch record and the specs from the inspection lot in the COA.

    I use PRGRP from PGMI in a report program
    PRGRP is used on the selection screen to find a product group
    On my selection screen ,when I use the list option,it brings up selections on material numbers and description
    How can I change it to just list all product groups for the user to select?

    System Response

This prevents planning data for the same material from being transferred to Demand Management multiple times from different product groups.
    Procedure
    Transfer materials to Demand Management from their MRP-relevant product groups.

  • SEM-BCS  vs Hyperion

    My client is unable to take a decision on software selection between Hyperion and SEM BCS - 4.0 for consolidations. The company is already implemented SAP -4.6c and wants to go for consolidation implementation. Hence, client is in dilemma for choosing software.     SEM BCS and ECCS both are consolidation applications of SAP System.
    ECCS is based on R/3 where as SEM BCS is based on BW. 
    There are no special circumstances, however SEM BCS is the latest version. Moreover the recent direction of SAP is towards BPC u2013
    Business Planning & Consolidation.
