Creating a workspace

How do you create a workspace or deploy a folder in tomcat ?
similar to servlet examples, root, webapps
I did see the tomcat manager page i could not follow the options
Please help

The best method is to build a WAR file an place it in the webapps folder. This will create a Context with the same name as the WAR file.
Other then that, creat a new folder under Tomcat's webapps directory (I will call it MyContext).
Under MyContext create a new folder called WEB-INF (note, capitolization is important).
Under WEB-INF create two folders, one called lib and the other called classes. So the directory structure looks like this:
[TOMCAT_HOME]/webapps/MyContext/
[TOMCAT_HOME]/webapps/MyContext/WEB-INF/
[TOMCAT_HOME]/webapps/MyContext/WEB-INF/lib/
[TOMCAT_HOME]/webapps/MyContext/WEB-INF/classes/
When you make .html pages and JSP pages, they should go in
[TOMCAT_HOME]/webapps/MyContext/
When you make your web.xml file, it should go in
[TOMCAT_HOME]/webapps/MyContext/WEB-INF/
When you make Servlets, and other classes, they should go into packages under
[TOMCAT_HOME]/webapps/MyContext/WEB-INF/classes/
When you include JARs (like JSTL, or a database driver) they go in
[TOMCAT_HOME]/webapps/MyContext/WEB-INF/lib/
Do a google search for deploying web application Tomcat for more.

    Hello Jack,
Please check if the following can help you - Re: Account setup for 100 users - script included .
If you find it useful, you’ll need to remember to adjust the flow schema to your current APEX version.

  • Is it now easier to create custom workspaces in Bridge CS4 &CS5

I use CS3 and I swear to god this is the most frustrating and hard to remember procedure after I lose my saved Bridge workspace settings. Once I figure it out, save the settings with a custom name, it's out of site and out of mind, forgotten years afterward.
I spent all morning trying to remember by trial and error how to recreate my modified filmstrip workspace which has one horizontal divider (major PITA to remember how to implement) separating Folder panel from Metadata panel on the left column, Preview pane in center with Content thumbnail strip separated by a horizontal divider underneath and the right column collapsed by the extended Preview pane. Very simple and uncluttered setup.
I didn't want to use Snow Leopard Mac Migration Assistant transferring my Bridge Workspace prefs (which I couldn't find on my OS Tiger hard drive pulled from my dead 2004 G5 iMac) to my newly purchased 2010 Mac Mini with Snow Leopard attached to the dead imac's HD through a firewire enclosure. Just reinstalled CS3 from my licensed CD and downloaded all updates using Adobe's online Update system.
Only one post on how to create Bridge workspace using horizontal dividers came up in a search and it turned out to be wrong.
I finally figured it out by first choosing Horizontal Filmstrip mode which has the left column in a tabbed layout, the center with Preview/Content including a horizontal divider and the right column with a horizontal divider and tabbed windows. Next I removed all tabs on the left except (Folder) and kept one tab on the right column (Metadata panel).
Here's the key that gets missed and forgotten in all this. As I click on the Metadata panel tab and drag from the right column over to the left column there is a blue highlight surrounding the entire column which gets most folks to let go upon which you get the disappointing two tabbed left column with no horizontal divider.
HERE IT IS...WATCH FOR IT...there is a blue one line bar that you can get to appear AT THE TOP of the left column when hovering the dragged tab just above the tab already in place in the column. Most don't see or know about this blue highlight bar showing up like this. And even then INTUITION says the blue horizontal divider highlight bar should appear in the middle of the left column being dragged and dropped to. But since no one sees it or maybe even knows about and how to get it to highlight, it gets forgotten about and the confusion and frustration continues.
I tried to post this in the Bridge Feature Request which now takes me to a Photoshop.com site requiring a new account be made for signing in. After I sign in, go to Bridge section, there's no GUI allowing me to Post New Topic, so I posted here.

2 clicks in Bridge Help, huh? Yeah. I already know how to create a workspace. It's the specifics of creating a horizontal divider that I'm having trouble remembering how to do and what to search for when I forget.
2 clicks didn't get me to the page on how to create horizontal dividers which is what I entered into Bridge Help Search from the beginning before I posted here. It only indicates how to make and move panels by grabbing the tabbed column which I already knew.
Put yourself in the place of someone who has to recall how to do something this deceptively simple and then know what to ask and search for after years of not having to deal with this. Would like you to find in the Bridge Help (search or whatever) where it says blue single line highlight bar lightens up to tell the user that a horizontal divider is being created.
Also see if you find instructions in Bridge Help that say..."Don't confuse this single line highlight bar (which if you have a fast video card will barely stay on long enough to notice or distinguish from the regular blue highlight bounding box when hovering between columns trying to create single square shaped panels with an adjustable divider bar but only getting tabbed unadjustable columns".
Heck, put yourself in the place of a newbie trying to figure this out. I've been doing this digital imaging stuff since '98 starting with Photoshop 4 and I'm having trouble.
Thanks for the directory location for Bridge's workspace. Don't know why doing a search using workspaces didn't find it. I finally hooked up my old G5 imac HD and found it along with the other "!!" workspaces but mine wasn't custom named which I may have altered slightly from when I first created it that originally included my name. I only found Workspace Horizontal Filmstrip Metadata.workspace. Wish there was a way to search where this file is at on the HD, but there's always google for finding that kind of stuff I guess.
Didn't find the "row of workspace names located at the top left of Search entry" in Bridge CS3.
But really this post is a disguised rant/feature request asking Adobe to allow instructions to show up by entering search terms... "Creating a Horizontal Divider In Bridge Workspace" when this situation comes up.
I'm hoping this rant will get indexed by google and show up in a search years later just so I'll remember this.

  • Creating a workspace in CS5

I have a very wide Toshiba laptop.  I want to create a workspace that takes advantage of the space..
I want two columns of palettes on the right side - Navigator, info, layers, actions, history, etc.  I have this set up.
I want the toolbar/toolbox on the far left.  I have THIS set up.
I want the space between these used for the image.  As large as possible filling the space.  I can DO THIS, but it's not persistent.
I have CS5 set up as full-screen with menubar.
I can "un-consolidate" the image and fiddle with the positioning to GET it where I want it.  Which is fine until I close Photoshop.  When I restart it,
I"m back to the consolidated image setting and my image is "full-screen", which means a lot of it is hidden behind the palettes.
I"ve created a new workspace using my configuration, but it doesn't appear to be making the images use the correct area....
How do I get CS5 to let me control not only where and how large the palettes are, but also how and where my image gets displayed when
    opened in Photoshop?

Have you tried simply tapping the "F" key on your keyboard twice?
The first tap will probably show the image full screen with a black background around the image.
The second tap of the "F" key will probably bring all the pallets back, and the image should not be under any of them.
Arrange the palletes and toobars the way that you want, and then save this arrangement as a new Workspace.

  • How to create Application Workspace with Jdeveloper 10g 1.3.2?

Following the instructions in "Developing and Using ADF Faces Skins", I am trying to create an Application Workspace.
The instruction says: "In JDeveloper, create a new Application workspace and name it - ADFFaces_skin_sample"
I can not find the way to create Application workspace with Jdeveloper 10g 1.3.2.
Because when I click FILE==>New I got "New Gallery--Application" in left, in right only got "Application, Empty project, File, Java Class, Java Interface". There is no "workspace" item.
I try to use Jdeveloper 10g 1.3.1, got same result.
I found other ADF Skin training samples. All of them asked to create Application Workspace. But the Jdeveloper version used by all those samples were earlier than 10g 10.1.3.2
Please let know how to create "Application Workspace"?

What used to be "Application Workspace" in 10.1.2 is "Application" in 10.1.3.2

  • Server can't create my workspace error when trying to distribute a form?

I am trying to distribute a form using Acrobat.com.  When I enter the email addresses, the program goes to work and then tells me that it can't create a workspace on the server.  Am I missing something in the process?
Thank you in advance for any help I can get.

Acrobat.com Workspaces has been retired. See: FAQ: Adobe Workspaces is being retired
For Acrobat X & 9 users, when you Select “Distribute” from the Forms tool pane in your Acrobat software, you will no longer see the option to distribute your form with Acrobat.com. You will still be able to distribute your form via email or your own internal server.

  • Creating multiple workspaces

Is it possible to create multiple workspaces for the same account? I'd like to separate our Dev/Staging/Production SCOM instances into their own workspaces.

    Hi,
Yes you can create multiple workspaces for the same account.
There are two ways to do this:
On the home page for Operational Insights, click Sign Up (rather than Sign In).
You will be presented with a screen to create a new workspace.
In the Azure portal, you can click +New -> App Services -> Operational Insights.
You can then create a new workspace
In both cases the workspace will be linked to your existing account.
In the Operational Insights portal you can switch between workspaces by clicking on the workspace name in the top right of the page (near the Settings (cog) icon.

  • No option to create new workspace in JDeveloper; turning BPEL Designer "on"

I'm trying to do some BPEL work on Linux, using JDeveloper Studio 10.1.3.4.
    A couple of issues:
    1) although the BPEL Designer shows up as a component in the "About", and BPEL Process Modeler shows up as a loaded extension in the same place, BPEL Process Project is a grayed-out option in New Projects. This may simply be due to the fact that BPEL Designer apparently needs to be turned "on", and I've yet to figure out how to do that on Linux (since the documentation is mostly for Windows).
So if this problem is solved by turning the JDeveloper BPEL Designer "on", I sure wouldn't mind knowing how to do it on Linux. It's easy enough to start the BPEL Process Manager - I have that running right now - but I see no shell script anywhere in the SOA Suite installation that remotely looks like it might start BPEL Designer.
    2) Many of the tutorials say that one should create a workspace in JDeveloper. According to them this is available as an option under File > New. Well, in Linux JDeveloper Studio 10.1.3.4 it's not available at all. It doesn't even exist as a disabled option. I find this curious, and somewhat disturbing.
Any ideas as to why something so central doesn't show up?
    Regards,
    Arved

OK, good to know, John. Eventually a person figures it out one way or the other. I realize all of this stuff exists in documentation someplace, but there's only so many hours in the day. And if you're using JDeveloper 10.1.3, with JDeveloper 11 already available, you don't necessarily expect a lot of the articles you run across to be so old that they still refer to workspaces. I'm not saying that these are necessarily Oracle articles.
As an aside I've found Oracle documentation to be pretty good. I use Oracle software on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. For ESB and BPEL on Linux the main problem with the docs is that they are incomplete. It's disconcerting to see continual references to having to turn BPEL Designer on, in Windows, and have no instructions concerning that for Linux, as one example. As it happens, doing a "startall" for opmnctl does everything I need, so if there's a separate BPEL Designer started up by that (as opposed to the BPEL Process Manager) I guess that's where it gets fired up. That may also be covered in documentation someplace, for Linux, but I haven't found it.

  • ERROR creating new workspace: directory file is invalid

    I f I try to create a workspace in a subfolder (directory)
where the path is too large then I get an error:
    The directory file "C:\Documents and Settings\aus046\My Documents\programs\java\oracle_jdev_workspaces\my_new_ws"
the path may conatain illegal charecters, may be too long or may not be accessable.
I make the path shorter like "C:\Documents and Settings\aus046\My Documents\programs\java\ws_footytips"
then it is fine but this messes up my desired folder structure.
Any chance of fixing this bug?

Yes, we've narrowed it down to a problem when using >80 character directory names.
It's bug 2776374 (viewable on Oracle Support's metalink site) and will be fixed in the next major release.
    Thanks!

Peter - Check the documentation (User's Guide) about Restricted Schemas. The DBA must run a script to remove SCOTT from the restricted schema list.
