Creating add-on deployable package using AAK for ABAP add-on certification

Hi all,
We are planning for ABAP certification next month.
I have some doubts if you can clarify please.
We have our name space registered and AAK is also installed on system.
Now with ABAP custom development we are planning to create Add-on CD using AAK.
For custom development I can use AAK (SSDC & SSDA) to create .PAT installable files.
How to create installable files for customizing i.e. configuration changes ?
We have to create BC-Set using IMG activity and follow upload - download process or any other process to be followed to install configuration changes.
Please provide some documentation for creating installabe files using AAK and BC-Set if available.

if not, how do you package BC-sets for certification?

Hi,
usually the foreign key is only set if the VO you select is dependent from a master. If e.g. you have DepartmentsVO1 that has an EmployeeVO3 as its nested VO, then creating a new instance of employees automatically add the foreign key. If you add EmployeesVO1, which is not dependent to DepartmensVO1, then the foreign key is not set. So if this is the case in THURA (keep in mind that this is not an Oracle demo but a sample used in a book about ADF) then all you need is to take the independent VO when building the new employee form.

Portal using Webdynpro for ABAP

Hi Gurus!
    I am using one portal using 'Webdynpro For ABAP'. It contains Contextual Panel as well as ViewUIContainer. Contextual Panel contains all the reqd options available for user; while ViewUIContainer contains diff views as requested.
   Now, I'm trying to make a copy of that Webdynpro with some other name. What happens is --
Application is not there and when I try to make one - it says
"Interface View Does Not Exists."
Further, when I try to make an Interface View with the new name - it says
"Interface View Does Not Exists."
   Therefore, what I could conclude about the case is -- may be Interface View is default to certain Webdynpro components/interface. Hence, my question is how can I make use of same webdynpro application with some other name. This requirement arises due to the fact that we have to add some more functionalities to that and I dont want to play with the efforts made so far.

The problem, if you backend system is not unicode, can be, that user with the browser accessing the Webdynpro page, can enter data of any codepage (because browser is Unicode), the data will then be stored with a wrong codepage in the system and will be destroyed.
Additionally all successor versions of ERP will be Unicode only.
And on top of that, if you plan to use Java components (such as a portal), the backend must be Unicode (see Note 975768 - Deprecation of Java features with non-Unicode Backend).

How to create a new user in Netweaver system for ABAP training?

Hello,
I had been learning ABAP using a trial version but recently purchased and installed a developer subscription of Netweaver 2004 SR3. Can someone please tell me the best way to create a new user for ABAP development and assign the needed transaction authorizations appropriate for a developer? I was able to create one in SU01 and assign a profile of S_ABAP_ALL but still could not get into SE80 with that logon. And the user had a license expiration of only one month, is there a way to obtain a permenant license for it from SAP?

Hi Chris,
You can create a role in t-code pfcg with all required transaction and assign it to your user id or else You can assign profile sap_all to you for all authorization.
Regarding license you can get it from sap.How to get it is explained in the document in the below link.

For ABAP development you need developer key and that also you will get from sap marketplace

This is a question bothering me for quite sometime, a gentleman told me that developing a product using ABAP is not advisable because of the licensing terms that SAP uses for ABAP, he further told me that you can not own the intellectual property right on your product if it is developed on ABAP. You can only sell a solution to a customer and customer can only use it and SAP can takeover the IP (Intellectual Property right) anytime they want. He sited this as a reason why they are developing their product on Java stack rather than ABAP stack.
Is it true ? Can someone throw some light on this ?

How to Add Multiple Driver Packages Using Reference File via PowerShell

Hey All -
I've got a task I'm working on which would be much easier via PowerShell. I tried figuring it out, but couldn't so thought I'd post.
The Task
I need to create about 50 new, empty driver packages (most are in the same folder in the console) and am trying to find a method of doing so where I may use a source text file / csv file as reference in the command line. Each package has a unique name
and source path. Here are examples:
- Latitude E5440 Win7 x86 [A01] \\server\drivers\5440x86
- Latitude E5440 Win7 x64 [A01] \\server\drivers\5440x64
The Structure
All of the ones I want to add via PowerShell will go into the same folder in the console. They will be in the folder "root\New Drivers\Dell CAB Drivers"
Any ideas or will this just take more time than it's worth for 50? Thanks!

Also, the creation of the driver package won't be your biggest challenge, as it's as simple as New-CMDriverPackage (see:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj821724(v=sc.20).aspx).
The biggest challenge is relating your models to a share name (unless they're all Latitude).

How do I create a "Reset Password Link" using apex for OracleExpress 10g?

I'd like to add a "Reset Password" link to my application, but am not sure how to implement this.
I see there is htmldb_util.reset_pw procedure, but this can only be called if the current user has admin privs. Clearly, an end user will not be able to logon as the administrator in order to reset their password!
I tried preceding the call to htmldb_util.reset_pw with a call to htmldm_custom_auth.set_user, and whilst the page showed the name of the admin user when it displayed, the call to htmldb_util.reset_pw still raised the exception that the current user must have admin privs.
Can anyone help please? Thanks Pete

You can either "play" with permissions for each user or you collect the reset password requests into a table and use DBMS_SCHEDULER to run the reset procedure every few minutes - this of course makes only sense, if said reset procedure can be used on different users from one account.

Creating *.dll in Visual Studio (using c++) for JNI

I'd like to ask, if anybody has experience how to make *.dll using Visual studio (2003) and use c++.
I make *.dll library in C ( in DEV-C++), it is no problem in C , but when I use C++, it doesnt work (it is the same in Visual studio)
I have the same code like in C ( the same header , and the "same" code - in dev-c++ it works well ) but when I try to create this same project using C++ it doesn work.
Visual studio throws exeption:

I want to use my photos in alphabet templates. Can I create or buy? I use CS2 for editing.

I wondered if it was possible to create alphabet letter templates with CS2 wherein I can use the template over my wildflower photos? If this isn't possible, is there any digital photo template software available for this?

If I remember correctly CS2 was capable of clipping masks. Take a look at the properties of your layers panel and see if clipping masks is listed. On windows holding down the alt key while the cursor is between two layer would change the icon and once clicked with the mouse, a clipping mask is created.
Another option is look at the text tool and see if mask tools are listed there as well. By using the mask for text instead of text you can fill it with any image you choose by using the paste into command.

Insert,update and delete data in a table using webdynpro for abap

Dear All,
I have a requirement to create a table allowing the user to add rows in it and update a row as well as delete a row from that table.To do this I guess I have to make use of ALV.But using ALV I am not able to enter data to a table where as I can make a column editable delete a row etc. please guide me to perform these operations(insert,update and delete) on table.

By using ALV you can do all insert delete etc things. if you want to edit i mean you can yenter data in ALV.

Table in interactive form using webynpro for abap

Hi All,
I am working on itercative form in adobe forms.I had a problem.
I have one field in webdynpro and interactive form in my view.
In interiae form layout i have a table which should be populated based on the input given in the field context attribute.
in layout i have 5 fields from 2 fields should poulated based on the input 3 fields user can enter anything i.e these three fields should be interactive.
I am able to sucessfully fill the data if i set 'Enabled' property to space in element interactive form.If i set enabled property i am not able see any data i my form.
How can i do this happen.I am very confused.I searched in many forums everybody says that if you put 'Enbaled' check box in interactive that will became a interactive form.

use normal wedynpro codeings for table also..
interactive form is a one of the GUI element in WD.so asual just create one attribute for input.
and one node for table bind the node to table. create action for input inside the action write select query in where condition give the readed value and once you create the inteactive form throuth the interface values will be shared automatically ..
