Creating aliases once for all domains

I have a number of domain aliases but I have to create a seperate mailalternateaddress entry for each user to receive mail under that domain.
Main domain is msai.mea.com.
fang.msai.com is a domain alias and points to msai.mea.com.
If I have a mailalternateaddress [email protected] I can receive there fine but If I want to receive email to [email protected] I have to have a seperate mailalternate address [email protected]
Is there a way to only have a single mailalternateaddress defined on the primary domain handle the alias for both domains?
I'm running iMS 5.2 with HotFix 0.6 and iDS 5.1.

I have no experience with Active Directory, but I think I have seen people customize the default home configuration in the appropriate language folder found in "/System" > "Library" > "User Template" in this situation ("root" privileges required). The template contains the basic folders ("Deskop", "Documents", "Library", etc.) so standardized ".plist" files for user level settings can be placed in the "Library" > "Preferences" folder of the template so that they will be copied along with everything else when the new "home" folder is created.
Often, an existing account will be configured as desired, then the appropriate files copied to the template. The caveat is that there can't be any references in eg. the "sidebar" or "Dock" to items within the home directory since the alias data in the ".plist" files will point to the original item in the model account used to create the template, rather than the corresponding items in the newly generated "home" folder.

Be sure that all DLL calls are thread safe (do not perform calls in UI thread).
Also for real-time application you need real-time OS.

Two other suggestions: save it in the new document profile or open the preferences file (it's a text file, maybe the options are stored there and you can edit them)

Creating an shortcut for all users on the desktop

I want to create a shortcut for all users on the desktop that will appear for all users that login to the computer. How is this done in Windows 7? In Widows XP this was done at the "All Users" profile, but I cannot find such a profile in Windows 7.

Configure a SSRS Data Alert once for all parameters

while BOL mention "[...] If the report is parameterized, you might need to run the report using different parameter values to ensure the data that that you are interested in appears in the report. After the report is open, you click the

is it possible, or is there a work around, to configure a data alert that lists all parameter members?
i.e. I've a report with a parameter that is "Customer" that contains more or less 1000 names. How can I create a single data alert for each Customer? --> i.e if the customer has a payment delay greater than n days?

Hi Davide,
Per my understanding that you want to create only one Data Alert for all the parameters in the lists, right?
As you know that if the report is parameterized ,only after the report is open then you can click the New Data Alert option on the Actions menu on the report toolbar to open Data Alert Designer and create the Data alert.
So by design you need to first select the parameter to filter the report and then create the “New Data Alert” . When you choose a data feed, the data from the feed displays in a table with rows and columns in the alert data pane of Data Alert Designer which
is the filtered tables data based on this parameter, that means the current version not support to set only one Data Alert for all parameters at once through the setting of the “New Data Alert” , The parameter values you chose to run the report are saved
in the alert definition and will be used when report is rerun as a step in processing the alert definition. To use different parameter values, you must create a new alert definition.

Create LOV's for all columns at the time of folder creation

Hi,
I know we can automatically create the LOV's for all the columns of a database table when creating the folder in the EUL. Is this a good practice or should I create LOV's on demand? What is the disadvantage of creating more LOV's than needs to be used other than the disk storage? I also know it is not a good idea to have an LOV on a field that has a lot of values. I am tempted not to create the LOV's in the beginning, but then it becomes a high maintenance issue if I have to come back and create many LOV's later. Thank you for your input.

Yes, it is not a good idea to create LOVs for all the columns. LOVS should be created only for the columns where parameters will be used. More the number of LOVs, slower the response in opening up your Discoverer reports and if you are using Disco Viewer, the page might take a long time to open up and frustrate the users.
Also it is a good practise to have LOVs defined on the lookup tables or where there are distinct values in the table and not from where these values are used in the table.

STO CONFIG:
The following steps have to be followed in order to configure stock transport order
between two plants.
1. Create a vendor for the Company code of the receiving plant using account group 0007
via T-Code XK01.
2. In the purchasing data view assign the supplying plant and the schema group
3. Create customer with the sales area of the vendor.
4. The shipping conditions, the delivering plant and the transportation zone determine the
route in the STO.
5. In the pricing procedure determination relevant to the STO assign document pricing
procedure and customer pricing procedure to get the pricing in the invoice.
6. Maintain condition records for pricing condition.
7. Maintain carrier as a partner in the customer master.
8. In OMGN select the supplying plant and assign the company code and sales area.
Similarly select the receiving plant and assign the company code and sales area (The
company code to which the plant is assigned to).
9. Assign the delivery type and checking rule to the document type.
10. And finally, assign the purchasing document type to the supplying plant and the
receiving plant.
11. Create the STO using T-Code ME 21N and save.
12. Check for release strategy if any and release using T-Code ME 28.
13. Create delivery in background using VL10G.
14. If delivery is created, it is an indication of correct configuration and master data
creation.

Create receving plant as a customer in suplying plants company code and sales area

Assign this customer number in receving plant detials OMGN
Assign supplying sales area in supplying plant details OMGN
Assign delivery tupe NB for in combination of supplying/ receving plants.
Create STO ME21N
As it is normal there in the item details wer should get shipping date i.e customer number
Go for Deliveryy VL10B
Shipping point *****
Select PO go for execute
then select the delivery then go for delvy ............create delvy,,,, delvy nubmer generated.

Click on picking
enter the picking qty
Click on PGI
in the mean time check in the PO history you will get the details

Fireworks 8 (mac) creates slice files for all image layers

Hi,
When creating a document with one or more slices with a
rollover behaviour, fireworks exports the
same number of images for the rest of the slices on the
page, even those without a rollover behaviour. For example, if
there is a slice with 4 states (therefore 4 image layers), all the
slices on the page will export 4 images, even if you only require
1. This is very frustrating especially if the page has many slices.
Does anybody else apart from Angel Massa, who I have seen
make a post last year on this subject, have this problem or know
the solution?

Create a certificate for non domain-joined PCs

We have a standard AD domain wit a CA and SharePoint/Exchange servers, hosted internally and externally with TMG 2010 as our firewall. For the external hosting, we have an external certificate from one of the main certificate providers. Internally, our domain-joined
PCs look to the CA to get their trusted certificate from.
This is the issue I am encountering:
Our external users (the ones whose PC is not joined to our domain) are fine when they access our SharePoint and Exchange services externally.
However, when they are connected via VPN, they receive a certificate error and when I look in Certificate > Certification path, I can see that it says:
"DOMAIN NAME" Issuing CA1 > "NAME OF SHAREPOINT WEBSITE".
When such a PC connects to the same website when NOT connected via VPN to the domain, they receive:
"DOMAIN NAME" Root CA > "DOMAIN NAME" Issuing CA1 > "NAME OF SHAREPOINT WEBSITE".
How can I create a certificate for these non-domain joined PCs so that I can import the certificate in the Trusted Root Certification Authorities store? Thank you!

It sounds like the question you are really asking is :
How do I designate the internal root CA as a trusted root CA
Run certutil -addstore root RootCert.crt (this must be run from an administrative command prompt)
This designates the root CA as a trusted root on the client. You also may want to install the intermediate cert to the store (you are not clear on what VPN product you are using, so it may or may not do proper chain building).
Run Certutil -addstore CA IssuingCA.crt

Proxy for pacman- download packages once for all machines

Hello.
I have a network with several machines and a server, all running Arch.
The server is also the internet gateway.
At the moment, all machines download all the packages they need independantly of each other, so many packages are downloaded several times. I could have one machine update all packages and then run a feed from /var/lib/pacman for all the others to update from, but then I must somehow make sure that all needed packages are on that machine. If I get another machine to install a new package it will either- not find it, or download it from the net and store it locally. Then any other machine that wants it will again be downloading it's own copy.
What pacman needs is some sort of proxy server. I run this on my server. Then on all other machines pacman is set to use that proxy. Whenever another machine requests a package or package list, the proxy downloads it and stores it on my server, then lets the client know that it's available from my servers feed.
Maybe there is already something like this?

Local Mirror HOWTO on Wiki is an overkill. All you need is any network filesystem. I use fuse-based sshfs. There is also shfs kernel module but it was much less stable last time I tried.
Just mount /var/cache/pacman/pkg on your client machines to /var/cache/pacman/pkg on your server. Then you'll have shared package cache. It is so simple!
You can even mount /var/lib/pacman/{current,extra,testing,community,unstable} the same way. Then you can do pacman -Sy only once.
Note that you need to patch your initscripts if you want to mount right from fstab on boot. See bug report #4681 (I'm not sure if I updated it for the latest initscripts release). I hope this will be included soon.
PS: if I'll have more time I'll write a little howto on wiki.

You could create the shortcut at one machine, then copy it to the target as part of the logon script. Note also that this line contains an error:
"C:\Users\%userprofile%\Desktop\Org_chart_test.lnk"
It should read:
"%userprofile%\Desktop\Org_chart_test.lnk"

I want to create a view in the Service Requests library that shows all SRs that are not approved. How to configure condition that says: if a SR has related Review Activity which is In Progress, show that SRs?
I couldn't find this when creating the view. Thank you.

So here's the first problem with that: Which review activity? a SR can contain multiple RAs, so how do we decide if an arbitrary SR is approved or not?
As to the specific language you use (Any child RA is In Progress) you might want to look at the criteria from the default Change approval view, which does something similar:

This is a simple AND criteria with two componets. one looking for a Review Activity (TypeConstraint='CoreActivity!System.WorkItem.Activity.ReviewActivity') which is related to the targetting CR by Contains Activity ($Context/Path[Relationship='CoreActivity!System.WorkItemContainsActivity';
Context in this... context means the CR targeted by the view) where it's status (/Property[Type='CoreActivity!System.WorkItem.Activity']/Status$) is In Progress ($MPElement[Name="CoreActivity!ActivityStatusEnum.Active"]$). The other is filtering

You could convert the second criteria to point to SRs and SR status values, and then use the similar text for the first criteria. i'd recommend
Anton's Advanced View Editor (or
the free version) to do the criteria adjustment.
