Creating an output file using 'GUI_DOWNLOAD' function

Hi SapAll.
when i try to create an out put text file using the FM 'GUI_DOWNLOAD' by wiring the follwoing below source code
CONCATENATE 'ASORT' c_tab 'ASORTYP' c_tab
'VKORG' c_tab 'DATAB' c_tab
'DATBI' INTO outtab-txt.
iam not able to create the text file with more than 16 fields.i have tried to create an out put file with 24 fields but i can only see 16 fields in it.so could any body help me in finding out how i can create an Output file with more than 16 fields in the file.

check your output definition....are you doing something like below? SAP will transfer 1024 bytes per line with GUI_DOWNLOAD.    After you download, how do you view the data? Be sure you're looking at the data with something that will show all 1024 bytes, and not jsut 256 or 512.

How to create multiple output files using TrAX?

I am new in this field. I'm trying to create multiple xml output files using TrAX. I have to parse a xml source file and output it to multiple xml files. My problem is that it only creates one output file and puts all the parsed data there. When i use saxon and run xsl and xml files, it works fine and creates multiple files...it has something to do with my java code...Any help is greatly appreciated.

Saxon has specific extensions. In this case it is <xsl:document>. That looks like a standard XSLT element, but it actually isn't. The history behind it is this: There was a proposal to create a new version of XSLT, called XSLT 1.1. One of the new features of this version was to be this xsl:document element. The author of the Saxon product, Michael Kay, is one of the people on the W3C committee directing the evolution of XSLT, so he upgraded his product to implement XSLT 1.1. But then the committee decided to drop XSLT 1.1 as a recommendation. So that left Saxon in the strange position of implementing a non-existent extension to XSLT.
The other outcome of this process was that XSLT (1.0) does not have a way of producing more than one output file from an input file. And so the short answer to your question is "Trax can't do that." However, XSLT 2.0 will be able to do that, although it is not yet a formal W3C recommendation, and when it does become one it will take a while before there are good implementations of it. (I predict that Saxon will be the first good implementation.)
One of the problems with XML and XSLT is that what you knew a year ago is probably obsolete now, because of all the evolution going on. So being new in the field is not a disadvantage, unless you get stung by reading obsolete tutorials or magazine articles.

Creating TDMS Waveform File using DDC_ functions in C 6.0?

I am trying to implement an export written in C 6.0. I can make TDMS files using the DDC_ commands without any problem. But I cant figure out how to make waveform TDMS files. I figured if I added the wf_ properties I should be able to set the waveform=Yes. But it appears to be more complicated than that.
Here is what I have working so far ... (excluding the error handling to make it easier to see)

Thank you so much for your reply.
I'm not using CVI, I am using Microsoft C/C++ 6.0.
Everything is fine if I make data TDMS files, but everything I have tried to make a waveform file has failed.
The posted code has error handling cut out and you are right, i was missing the following call at the end.
DDC_SetDataValues(lphchanneltime, lpthischanneltimesarray, (unsigned int)(scansinfile/decimationfactor));
This code all works to make a TDMS data file but I have to include a separate time channel to make it graphable (not shown).
I would rather specify the wf_increment and not include the Time channel with time values for each sample.
I would have thought all I need to do is set the waveform property on each channel to yes but nothing I do changes that from "No" to "Yes"

Heading during downloading into local file using GUI_DOWNLOAD fun.module

we have a requirement that we want the plant description as a heading (first line of the file) in the local file. iam using "GUI_DOWNLOAD" function module for downloading data for which iam passing the charecter type internal table. before downloading iam passing all the filed headings to that table and then appending the internal table data into it. now iam getting data properly with field headings . but before that heading i want one more description for a plant field which iam using in my selection screen
in the fun.module "GUI_DOWNLAOD"
we have HEADER file but it is of XSTRING type so it is taking only 2 char.
so how to use this . Plz help me.

Printing messages in Log File and Output File using Dbms_output.put_line

Hi,
I have a requirement of printing messages in log file and output file using dbms_output.put_line instead of fnd_file.put_line API.
Please let me know how can I achieve this.
I tried using a function to print messages and calling that function in my main package where ever there is fnd_file.put_line. But this approach is not required by the business.
So let me know how I can achieve this functionality.

If you can tell us your application scenario and why you are trying to control the output name only with xslt, then we can drive you towards correct direction. Remember you cannot control output path with xslt.
if you are using bizTalk, you have to use xslt with maps and set the output path at ports
if you are using .net, you have to control it from your dotnet code.
Xslt alone cannot control the output path.

Should not create any output file when transform with xslt file

I have a xslt file, which I have make code to check the order status value.
If OrderStatus != 'Reject' --> create attribute, element for output file
Else OrderStatus = 'Reject' --> do not create attribute/element ==> output is the empty file.
Requirement: if OrderStatus = 'Reject' --> do not create any output file.
how to do with this requirement?

Do you mean the xslt file always return the output file?
I have tested this xslt file following (only xslt file, not run in BizTalk project):
Create a blank console application using visual studio and add attached xslt file to newly created console app. Next open the XSLT file and select input file and output files and start xslt debugging to create output file.
I want to edit the xslt file how to cannot create output file in the case OrderStatus = Reject.
I don't say in particualr xslt file, its actually your map as a whole that returns a output message on successful execution.
since you are testing the xslt file as individual file, you are able to control it as per need. i mean you can write incomplete code or any kind of output elements that are not present even in schema. But when you set the map properties to use external
xslt , map completely relies on xslt and xslt has to produce output that matches the output schema structure.
So you better test your xslt by setting it to your map. Once you set map properties to use xslt, you can test your map by right clicking on map and choosing test map.

Downloading two different text files using gui_download

Hi Folks,
I have two internal tables.itab1 and itab2.Generally in most cases I have to download only the data in itab1 as a text file using Gui_download.In some cases if a particular condition is satisfied I need to download both itab1 and itab2 data as two different text files using gui_download.To achieve this I had called the gui_download twice as I have to pass two different internal tables.
But I am getting only itab1 textfile and not itab2 textfile.
In the selection screen I am giving the path as c:\..
Kindly let me know where I am going wrong.

Trying to create a certificate file using keytool -help!

Hi, I've followed a series of instructions using Terminal to create a certificate. Terminal produced a file and when i open it using Text Edit its about 20 lines long worth of code. I was hoping it would provide a certificate I could use. Maybe it has, I just don't know what I'm looking for!

I was given an assingment, but have no idea where to begin. The assingment is to create a text file using notepad with all of my digital inputs and some how make those imputs show up on my digital indicators on my control pannel.
When it was explained to me it didn't sound to hard of a task, I have no LabVIEW experience and the tutortial sucks.

OK! Let's do it step by step. I assume you already have a VI with the digital indicators.

open notepad.
decide on a format, possibly one line per indicator.
type the document.
close notepad.
open LabVIEW.
Open the existing VI with all the indicators.
(are you still following?)
look at the diagram.
Who made the program?
Does the code make sense so far?
Is it a statemachine or just a bunch of crisscrossed wires?
Where do you want to add the file read?
How should the file be read (after pressing a read button, at the start of the program ,etc.)
See how far you get!
