Creating an RF Amplifier in Multisim

Hello,
I am trying to design an RF transformer in multisim. It is named TK1235 or also 42IF123 in the attached pdf. I tried using the user manual (page 298 of 374483a.pdf) but i am not sure how do i go about defining the values that are specified in the datasheet. Can someone guide me on this issue??
Your help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Kush Patel

Hi Kush,
In order to design a transformer in Multisim you need to have the SPICE model for the part. Another option is to use one of the parametrizable components in the library and edit its footprint.

  • Creating a custom component in multisim using *.lib and *.olb files

i have  *.lib and *.olb files for a pspice model. which file i have to you while creating a custom component in multisim.

    Hello,
Thanks for your question. In order to create simulatable custom components in Multisim you need a SPICE model (Multisim can also understand PSpice Models). The file format for SPICE model can be different according to the manufacturer, for instance: *.cir, *.lib, *.llb. At the end of the day these files are text files that you can open with a text editor, therefore, you can simply copy and paste the model in Multisim.
Here are two good resources on component creation:
    Component Creation 101
Creating a Custom Component in NI Multisim
When you reach the step where you need to enter the SPICE model, simply open the *.lib or *.olb file with a text editor, and copy and paste the model.
    Hope this helps.

  • Creating an Eye Diagram in MultiSIM Blue

How do you create an eye diagram in MultiSIM Blue 13.0?  I read somewhere to create a macro and I created a text file for one to add to the "User Database."  Also, where are the components stored in the program?  Maybe I can dump the file there.  I'm very new to this so please forgive my inexperience.
Thank you for all your help.

    Hello Fernando.
    Thanks for replying.
I cannot post or describe the circuit because it's proprietary.  I tried to attach a pdf describing how to create an eye diagram in Spice but I kept getting an error.  The eye diagram is a very important tool to visualize data patterns and I'm trying to create either a macro or a circuit.  The oscilloscope functions in MultiSIM do not allow this.  How can this be done?
Here are 3 sample macros that should work:
    pi=4*atan(1)
    mod(a, b) = (b)*(atan(tan(((a)/(b))*pi-pi/2))+pi/2)/pi
    eye_sweep(p, d) = mod(time+(p)/2+(d), p) - ((p)/2+(d))
    Best regards, Jesse.

  • Isolation Amplifier in multisim 10 library

How can I get the component ISO122p in the multisim 10 library

I do not know which version of MS you have, but in my Power Pro version there are a few simular types already there i.e ISO121G. Look under ANALOG>SPECIAL FUNCTION.
If you can't specifically use these , maybe you can modify one of them to the ISO122P parameters. This would definitely be a whole lot easier than  trying to create this from scratch.
I have not located a model for your specific IC so creating one from scratch or modifying an existing one could be your only option unlkess someone has already created on and wishes to share.
Let me know if your version has these and if not I will post one of them for you to modify.
Also look at the website in my signature and see if there may be one there or request it on that forum and see if someone has one.
I hope some of this helps.

  • How do I create a ferrite bead in Multisim

I would to simulate a ferrite bead in Multisim.  Has anyone done this or know how to do this?

Kitt is right, the only thing a bead is is a smoll inductance usually used for EMF filtering or in high frequency applications where a coil would not work efficiently. You can try Kitt's method and see if it will work for you.
There are model on the I-net. Not to sound obvious, but have your tire to Google for "Ferrite Bead Spice Model"? I found one the other day in a PDF file, but I neglected to download it and do not know the link for it right now.
I hope you can find what you need.

  • How to create a new component using SPICE?

People, I don't know how to create a new component using SPICE.
I know that it's possible to create a new component and use a SPICE code, but I don't know how to do this very well, and I need the TI ISO124 (Isolation Amplifier), and I have no idea on how to do that. Can somebody help me? I need to develop a layout.

  • Creating Sawtek filter library component

Hello all. I couldn't find anything related to my question so I'll write my first post.
I am trying to replicate the RF 70MHz on Multisim.
Then I encountered a Sawtek Filter 854660 within the circuit diagram.
I followed the steps on creating a new library component from the NI website:
    http://www.ni.com/tutorial/3173/en/
    but to no avail.
On the 854660 pdf datasheet, I cannot find the type of package required to create this filter on the multisim library.
Can any one offer some advice as to how can I create a new package for the sawtek filter? Or perhaps the package is already in multisim but I might have missed it?
    Kind Regards,

Sorry, I couldn't attach the files on the previous post.

  • Variable Frequency Drive Simulation in Multisim 11

I'm having trouble creating a VFD simulation on Multisim 11.  I've created a Delta source connected to a 6-pulse rectifier, which connects to a filter, which connects to a PWM (antiparallel SCRs), which connects to my motor.
Any corrections to be made?  Additions?  Thanks.

Just an update for the community. In version 12 we have added a lot more components into the Electro_Mechancal family which can really enable users to further their testing abilities.
Co-Simulation is also a very revolutionary feature that has been added to Multisim to allow users to test a complete system by being able to test their circuits along side their LabVIEW code.

  • Exporting schematic from Multisim to Cadence Allegro

    Greetings,
My company owns a copy of Allegro and Multisim.  I'm having a bit of a hard time convincing the powers-that-be that we need another SPICE/schematic capture and/or PCB layout program.
Does anyone have a method for getting schematics, hopefully with footprint and pinout information, from Multisim to Allegro?  I've been searching the net for a while now off and on, and I'm coming up empty on this.  The best I can come up with is a straight netlist export/import, but then I have the issue of updating part libraries in both programs.  So, I thought I'd throw the question to this forum and see if anyone else has dealt with the same or similar issues and has either a solution or a "can't be done in a reasonable amount of time" conclusion they'd like to share.  (I mean, I'm pretty sure I could WRITE a program to convert between the two, but it would take half a year or more at my next-to-nil level of expertise in the file formats of each program.  Way before that point, Orcad or Ultiboard would be cheaper).
    Thanks for your time,
    Mike

    Hi,
When you transfer a Multi-page design from Multisim to Ultiboard, all the parts are transferred at the same time and placed outside of the board outline and there is no way to automatically group parts that come from a specific page.
Now, one thing you could do is create a Part group in Multisim. Open a page and select all the component, then go to the Spreadsheet View, Components tab. Go to the Part group column, click one of the cells and enter a name for the group. Repeat for other pages if necessary.
Transfer the design to Ultiboard. Now, let's say that you want to place on the board outline only the parts from a specific page. In the Spreadsheet View go to the Parts tab. In the Part group column select the entire group; only the components that belong to this group will be highlighted. Now you can simple drag and drop the entire group of components.
    Hope this helps.

  • Is it possible to save Multisim version 13 circuit files so that they can be used in Multisim version 12?

I have a circuit files created in version 13 of Multisim and would like to be able to give then to my students to work.  However, the school has only installed version 12 of Multisim.  Is there a way to save the version 13 files so that they are useable in version 12?

    Hi there,
Unfortunately no. Multisim is not backwards compatible. Version 13 files can't be opened in v.12.
