Creating default branches for multiple projects: A_MAIN, B_MAIN...

I'm trying to figure out how to minimize my pain and get started
using SCM under JDev for a multi-project development.
Will it be advantagous to create a PROJ_MAIN branch for each
project? COMMON_MAIN, AP_MAIN, GL_MAIN ...
Then the src for each project is not co-mingled so to speak..
Any thoughts?

Curt,
Certainly this is a good approach. You have probably found that the latest(main) rule provides too many files. By restricting code to, what we call, integration branches, the code is more clearly divided into product areas.
The JDev WA wizard allows the creation of a workarea based on the latest on a branch, however, from memory this adds the latest(main) rule to the latest(new_branch) rule for the JDev private WA. This again could download more files than required. A better approach is to create a JDev workarea based on a shared workarea (the second choice when creating a JDev WA). This shared workarea is created in the RON or commandline tool. Just give access to one other user or PUBLIC and the workarea becomes shared and available in the JDev WA wizard.
Taking this one step further, we usually create a configuration, base the WA on this and then share the WA. This provides a nice baseline for development.

[ADF Help] How to create a view for multiple tables

I am using Jdeveloper 11G and ADF framework, and trying to create a view to update multiple tables.
ex:
Table A has these fields: ID, Name
Table B has these fields: ID, Address
A.ID and B.ID are primary keys.
B.ID has FK relationship with A.ID
(basically, these tables have one-to-one relation)
I want to create a view object, which contains these fields: B.ID (or A.ID), A.Name, B.Address.
So I can execute C,R,U,D for both tables.
I create these tables in DB, and create entity objects for these tables.
So there are 2 entity objects and 1 association.
Then I create a view object based on B and add fields of A into the view:
If the association is not a "Composition Association",
when I run the model ("Oracle Business Component Browser") and try to insert new data, fields of A can't edit.
If the association is a "Composition Association", and click the insert button, I will get
"oracle.jbo.InvalidOwnerException: JBO-25030: Failed to find or invalidate owning entity"
If I create a view object based on A and add filed of B into the view:
When I run the model and try to insert new data, fields of B can't edit, no matter the association is or is not a composition association.
So... how can I create a view for multiple tables correctly?

Thanks, but the result is same ....
In the step 2 of creating view object, I can select entity objects to be added in to the view.
If I select A first, and then select B (the "Source Usage" of B is A), then finishing the wizards.
When I try to create a new record in the view, I can't edit any properties of B (those files are disabled).
If I select B first, and then select A in crating view object, the result is similar ...

You can combine different orders in to one delivery ,But for the customer Order combination should be checked in the sales area data of the shipping tab,we can combine orders but the ship to party,Route,Inco terms,Shipping date,shipping point should be same,you can do in T.code VL04 & VL10

How to create a validation for the project coding mask

Hi,
Would just like to ask how to create a validation for the project coding mask wherein the WBS elements hierarchy will be checked against the template saved. For example,
project coding mask is XXXX-XXXXX-XX-X-X-X-00-X
mother WBS should be XXXX-XXXXX-X and lower level WBS would be XXXX-XXXXX-XX.
The validation should not allow a mother WBS to be XXXX-XXXXX-XX.
How can we go about this?

You can use validation with the combination of the level and the coding mask.
In the validation:
Pre requisite: WBS level = 1
Validation: Prps-posid = prps-posid :1-12:
Message : Error
If required you can give the parameters for your detail error message.

What is the best way to create shared variable for multiple Real time (PXI) to GUI PC? I have 16 Nos of PXI system in network and 1 nos of GUI PC. I want to send command to all the PXI system with using single variable from GUI PC(Like Start Data acquisition, Stop data Acquisition) and I also want data from each PXI system to GUI PC display purpose. Can anybody suggest me best performance system configuration. Where to create variable?(Host PC or at individual PXI system).

use an "UserExit" as described here:Customer Exits in SAP EHS MANAGEMENT (Exit: C1020001 EHS: Menu exit 1 of substance management/C1020002 EHS: Menu exit 2 of substance management) and establish first an user interface. Don't create e.g. own transaction etc. Use the realy nice enhancement options using these "Exits".

Branching to multiple projects within a SCORM-compatible LMS

I'm close here, but I'm not quite getting what I want. Hopefully someone can point to the "easy" way to do this...
I am creating a single course that is composed of multiple Captivate 5 projects. The user is branched to different projects along the way based on the answers to embedded questions (such as passing/failing a pre-test). In the final project I have a post-test. That's the only one that needs to send a score to the LMS.
So let's simplify it for an example:
User enters in Module 1 and takes a pre-test.
If they pass with a certain score, they go to Module 3. If they fail, they go to Module 2.
If they're sent to Module 2, they go to Module 3 after they complete it.
In Module 3 they take a post-test and that score gets recorded.
Running this scenario on my desktop is easy. Putting it in a SCORM environment is taxing my brain.
Currently, I'm publishing each Module as its own SCO, keeping the Course ID and Title consistent between them.
I tried using the Multi-SCO Packager, but that results in entries in my LMS for Module 1, 2, and 3 separately. Not what I want.
I have tried moving the folders for Modules 2 and 3 to make them sub-folders of Module 1. That seems to work (I get one course entry point, for Module 1, and I exit with the correct score from Module 3), however in reviewing the LMS reports, this results in an artificially elevated "# of accesses" figure. The reason seems obvious: every time I load Module 1 it's one access, and then when I branch to Module 3, it's another access, because really I'm reloading the page with a new module and SCORM manifest, right? Plus I'm a little worried that this kind of gerry-rigging is going to break something.
I don't really want to use the Aggregator, because I don't want a TOC - they shouldn't have the ability to jump directly to Module 2, for example - but I tried it anyway. And I found that even if I can get it to flow the way I want to, I can't figure out how to package the Aggregated project into a SCORM Manifest.
There's got to be a way to do this. What am I missing? Is there something obvious I'm not considering?

The sequencing and navigation capabilities of SCORM 2004 are designed to work between shareable content objects (SCOs). Whether you publish to SCORM 1.2 or SCORM 2004, Captivate always publishes a course with exactly one SCO, and so doesn't make use of the SCORM sequencing and navigation capabilities. There are ways to implement branching in Captivate, but they're independent of the SCORM capabilities.

The tutorial doesn't speak directly to sequensing, but it does describe how to use RELOAD. Your situation is a bit more complext than just sequential prerequisites. You need conditional sequencing and that's done by specifying sequencing rules in your manifest:

SRM 7 - defaulting values for multiple line items on shopping cart

Hi,
We are using SRM 7 - Employee self service - Punch out catalogues and describe requirements.
Our scenario is this:
- User is responsible for creating shopping carts for numerous cost centres/other users
- Shopping cart will have multiple line items (but the cost centre/other user will be same for all line items)
- Is it possible to define in a shopping cart that all line items will have a specific value? E.g. all line items will be assigned to a specific cost centre?
I know about assigning dedault values in PPOMA_BBP - but our situation is where user does not want to use this default value this time, but another value
Any suggestions?

To confirm, did you use the BBP_DOC_CHECK_BADI (in conjunction with the BBP_ITEM_CHECK_BADI) to look at different cost centres on the multiple lines on the shopping cart?
Also - did you use the same BADI to give user opportunity to enter a default cost centre that is then automatically applied to all line items on the cart?

I have a WSDL based proxy service with multiple operations. For 2 of the operations i want the same functionality and other operations have there own functionality.
So in Operational Branch, can we have the same branch for 2 operations? I can easily create another branch and copy the code, but trying for a better solution.

Create .SCA file for MII project

Please let me know the steps in creating .SCA file for deploying MII projects developed using WorkBench with login page. I think that after creating the .SCA file we can deploy it using Eclipse under the menu Deploy View Console or using JSPM. After deploying we should be able to login using the credentials and should be redirected based on roles to appropriate pages.
I had deployed the intial .SCA file named (XMII08_0-20004625.SCA) using JSPM. MII version used is 12.1.8 and Netweaver version is NW CE 7.1 EHP1 SP5.
How we can set up the development environment in Eclipse or NetWeaver Developer Studio for MII project development so that we can directly create MII SCA file from the tool itself. Please share documents if any.

I need to modify the default login page in MII and redirect it to different URLs based on roles.
I am able to change the images in the default Menu.jsp in the NetWeaver login to Authentication page and inside properties tab. There I am able to change the images like branding-image.jpg, SAP NetWeaver image, SAP Image. But this is reflected in both the URLs
http://servername:50000/nwa and http://servername:50000/XMII/Menu.jsp
Then I changed the web.xml inside war file (tcsecumelogonui.war) which is in the path InstanceDirectory:\usr\sap\CE1\J00\j2ee\cluster\apps\sap.com\com.sap.security.core.logon\servlet_jsp\logon_ui_resources with the new Login.jsp file instead of Menu.jsp for the servlet tags but still when I access the new Login.jsp page from the URL http://servername:50000/XMII/Login.jsp it is still showing Menu.jsp. But when I tried to login using the Menu.jsp page then it is redirected to my new Login.jsp page.
Please let me know how I will be able to change and deploy a new login page in MII 12.1.8 and with NetWeaver CE 7.1 EHP1 SP5.

After some research i found a way, just put more references on the "collection".
Here's a sample to export all domain projects :
collectionList = ArrayList()
refs = ALSBConfigurationMBean.getRefs(Ref.DOMAIN)
it = refs.iterator()
while it.hasNext():
ref = it.next()
if ref.getTypeId() == Ref.PROJECT_REF:
collectionList.add(ref)
collection = HashSet(collectionList)
To export multiple project, just put multiple projects refs in an arraylist and create a Set from the arraylist with "collection = HashSet(collectionList)".

Creating a Portal for Multiple APEX Apps

We have created multiple APEX applications and would like to find a tool and/or way to create a portal for those applications. Single sign-on would be a requirement as we are currently using LDAP authentication in some of the applications and default APEX in others. We can go with LDAP across the board if necessary. Is there a way to create a dependancy for multiple specifc platforms?

I am trying to generate a package for a client that includes interface libraries for both 32-bit and 64-bit applications. The problem is the client is not happy that one essentially has to build the 32-bit version and then the 64-bit version, and wants
everything built at once. This is a complex solution where the package has multiple dependancies with some of those projects have multipe dependancies.
The client wants this all integrated into Visual Studio 2013 in basically an "idiot proof" approach, any suggestions?
