Creating links to a specific step in a GP

Hi everyone,
I was wondering if there was a special syntax to build a hyperlink directly to a specific step in a Guided Procedure. The application I'm working on has to send an email to a user with a link to take him directly to a step in a GP. Does anyone know how to do it or have any examples?
Thanks you very much,
Luis T.

Hi,
On your email template use the built-in parameter "workitemurl".
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce10/helpdata/en/5d/a71342cb385333e10000000a155106/content.htm
I've implemented a requirement like it using this parameter, so user receive the email, click on link and the workitem is started.
Best regards

  • Ability to create GPOs, but only link them to specific OU

    Hi guys,
Running a 2008R2 domain.  I need to delegate the permissions to create new GPOs to a specific account, but I want that account to only be able to link them to a specific OU.  I know how to delegate the link permissions to specific OUs, but
not how to delegate permissions to create GPOs without making the account a member of Group Policy Creator Owners which would give it ability to edit other GPOs.  If anyone knows a way I can delegate permissions to create new GPO(bot not edit existing
GPOs), please let me know.  I was checking the User rights Assignments in the Default Domain Controllers Policy, but not seeing the ability to add a user in there.

    Hi Dan,
If you want to delegate permissions to create GPOs, you can refer to the following steps:
    1. Open Group Policy Management.
    2. In the console tree, click Group Policy Objects in the forest and domain for which you want to delegate creation rights for Group Policy objects (GPOs).
    3. In the results pane, click the Delegation
    4.Click Add.
    5. In the Select User, Computers, or Groups dialog box, click Object Types, select the types of objects to which you want to delegate creation rights for GPOs, and then click
    OK.
    6. Click Locations, select either Entire Directory or the domain or organizational unit containing the object to which you want to delegate creation rights, and then click
    OK.
    7. In the Enter the object name to select box, enter name of the object to which you want to delegate creation rights by doing one of the following:
    ◦ If you know the name, type it, and then click OK.
    ◦ To search for the name, click Advanced, enter the search criteria, click Find Now, select the name in the list box, click OK, and then click OK.
Based on my test, after delegating creation of GPOs to a user by following above step, the user will not have permissions to edit the GPOs that are not created by himself.
For more detail information about delegating creation of GPOs , you can refer to the following link:

  • How to create a dynamic link in a Form to link to a specific FOLDER

    Hello,
I have created a reports of all employees of my department.
This reports shows me the empno and ename
    When I clicked on a empno ( for example empno = 1 ) then then I got a MASTER DETAIL FORM about that employee(empno = 1) .
Who he or she is and which course he or she had followed.
I want create a dynamic link in the MASTER DETAIL FORM which shows me directly the folder of that employee ( in this example folder 1 ).
If I clickt on the report with all employees of my department on an other number ( for example empno = 3333333) then if I click on the dynamic link in the MASTER DETAIL FORM I want to see the folder of employee 3333333 !!! You know what I mean ?
What I want to know is, how to create a dynamic link that shows me directly a folder which is dependent on which empno I had clicked on in the report ( report with employee numbers and ename )
Is there any way to pass some parameters into a link to a Folder ? Is this possible in Portal ? Does anyone know how to do this, or do you have a suggestion how to solve this problem ?
    Thanks a lot !!!
    Chu Lam

    Hi Chetan,
I am glad that someone had replied on my question.
I will explain it to you again.
I have created a report that shows me all employees. If I click on a employee number then I get an MASTER DETAIL FORM on my screen with all the information(where he works now and which number I have to dial ifhow can I reach him by telephone) of that employee on which number I clicked on.
I really like this mechanism. (You click on a number and the information that you see in the next screen is dependent of the number you clicked on ! )I have created all this. It works fine.
What I want is to expand this example.
Every employee has a FOLDER (yes, those ones in Content Area ) which they can insert text or image into that folder. The folder name is just the employee number. ( employee with employee number 3303, he owns a folder which is named 3303 and an employee with empno 9999, he or she owns a folder with the name 9999. )
Every employee can tell more about himself in that FOLDER by iserting text and images. For example : What he likes, pictures of his vacation, something like this.
What I want is this :
If I click on the first report, which provides me all employees on screen, on a employee number 3303 then I get a Master Detail Form on my screen with all information about that employee with employee number 3303. And I want in this MASTER DETAIL FORM to create a link that shows me directly the FOLDER of that employee ( 3303), so I can learn more about employee with employee number 3303. But I don't know how to create this link.
That link had to be dependent on the employee number. The difficult thing about this link is that this link had to be dynamic.
I hope this will make it clear to you :
    (report all employees:)
    empno ename
    3301 john smith
    3302 peter clark
    3303 wilson jones
If I click on a empno ( for example 3303) then I get a MASTER DETAIL FORM which provides me information.
    (MASTER DETAIL FORM )
    EMPNO 3303
    ENAME wilson jones
    department New York
    mobile number 98908763
    Company tel. no day
    AOL 097485838 monday till wednesday
    Oracle 04848584333 thursday and friday
    LINK
(what I want is to create a link here )
If I click on LINK in this MASTER DETAIL FORM then I want to link to the FOLDER of this employee ! ( In this example it is FOLDER 3303.
BUT IF I CLICKED ON THE FIRST REPORT ON A DIFFERENT NUMBER ( FOR EXAMPLE 3301) THEN IF I CLICK ON LINK IN THE MASTER DETAIL FORM THEN I HAVE TO LINKED TO FOLDER 3301.
I just want to know how to make a link like this ( create a dynamic link to a specific folder ).
    Thanks in Advance.

  • Create a link to a specific spot in PDF document

Is it possible to create a link from a Table of Contents item to a specific heading on a page within the same document. So far from what I've read and what I've tried I can only link to a specific page but not a specific section on that page. Is that possible? If so how to I do that? It's basically the same idea as HTML anchor links within the same HTML page. So if you have a links up top you can create named anchors for the destination spot later on down the page. I tried using the destinations in Acrobat also but it seems to also only point to the page, not the specific area on a page.
If anyone knows if that's possible, could you either show me how to do it or point me to a tutorial online that shows how to do that. I've searched and searched but just cannot seem to find anything. Maybe I'm not using the right keywords to search.

You can either link to an existing named destination or a view that you establish when you create the link. A named destination is a combination of a page and the view settings (e.g., fit width, fit visible, 200% zoom and scrolled 1/4 way down the page, etc.)
When you add a new named destination, go to the page you want and set up the display of the page to what you want. Give the named destination a meaningful/descriptive name.
When you create the link that you want to target a named destination, select an action of "Go to a page view" and set it to the current view. You then have to go and edit the action and select "Use Named Destination" and select from the list of named destinations in the document.
You do not need to set up named destinations to link to a specific area of a page, but they are helpful when linking from other documents or systems, particularly if the document that's linked to changes with any frequency.
To set up the same type of link without using named destinations, just add a new link and when you're presented with the "Create Link" dialog, select "Go to a page view" and navigate to the corresponding page, set the view you want, and click the "Set Link" button.

  • How to create links that guide you to a specific title on the page and not the beginning of the page?

I'm trying to create links so that when you click on a title in the table of contents it guides you to the title on the specific page. However, when I do that it always sends me to the beginning of the page even if the title is in the bottom. Anyone knows how to do if I want to get to the title and not to the beginning of the page? When I use Finereader it create links from the table of contents automatically and those links send me to the title no mater where it is on the page. I've tried do edit the settings to look like those links created in Finereader but it doesn't work.
I'm using Adobe Acrobat XI on a Mac Book Air.

In you first query you can only have 1 column listed in your subselect, used ResourceID.

  • Creating links to specific area in a PDF

I want to create a link to go to a specific text area in my one-page PDF... not allowing anything outside of this specified area to be filled unless you click on this link. Does anyone know how to do this?

Creating a link to a specific area is very easy. Make a button and set its action to "Go to page view", then go to the area (you can even set the zoom level you want) and set the link.
Preventing the user from leaving that area is not possible.

I would like to able to have a home screen link to a specific book within my iBooks library vs. opening the folder that has the app that has the collection, etc.

No, it's not possible - as far as I know currently only Safari allows you to create separate homescreen shortcuts.

  • Link to a specific page in a PDF - from word

    Hey guys
Possibly a stupid question, however Im not too familiar with acrobat and creating pdfs etc, I have searched and tried whatever answers i've found though.
What Im needing to do (well, its another user, but they've asked me to fix it for them) is create a link in a word document that will open a pdf at a particular page. This word document will then be exported to PDF and the linking needs to still work. The files will be on the local filesystem (not a web server) and need to open in acrobat reader, not an IE window.
I can get it to work fine if you manually edit the link in Acrobat professional and tell it to go to a page in another PDF, but when I try adding the link in word it just opens the PDF at page 1.
    What I've tried doing:
Create a hyperlink in word to c:\test.pdf#page=50
Create a hyperlink in word to c:\test.pdf#chapter6 (with chapter6 being a destination in the PDF document)
as above but with file:///c:/test.pdf#page50 and file:///c:/test.pdf#chapter6
All of these open the PDF but at page 1, not page 50. When i view the link properties in acrobat it shows the action as being "Open a file: c:\test.pdf" but nothing about opening to a specific page.
The user does not want to edit the resulting pdf in acrobat once it has been created, due to needing to frequently update the word document and re-export to pdf.
Systems are running WinXP, Office 03, and have tried with Acrobat 6 and 8 (would prefer it to work with version 6, as 8 is just the trial and would prefer not to have to upgrade to get this to work).
Any help would be much appreciated!

I have a similar problem I would like to solve. I am also running Word 2003, Windows XP and Acrobat Professional 7.0.
I can create a hyperlink in a word document to open a separate PDF file.
I can then use PDF Maker to convert the word document to PDF.
    No problem.
When I click on the new link in the PDF document it opens the separate file in the same window and the original PDF file is closed.
I do not want the original file to close.
When I set up a new link from within Acrobat then I get the option to "Open in new window". This link works the way that I want.
As there are multiple hyperlinks in the word document, I will need to recreate new links everytime I modify the Word document. This is very time consuming
Question - how do I get the automatically created link to open in a new window?
    Thanks in advance

  • How do I link to a specific Hero Image in from another page?

How do I link to a specific Hero Image from another page?

    Hi Laura,
I am afraid that this is not possible in Muse at this stage, I will recommend that you post this on our ideas section over here, https://forums.adobe.com/community/muse/ideas, and let our devs team know of this requirement.
As a work around I will suggest that you create a dedicated page with this panel opened when you publish and link that page with the text that you want. Let me know if you need more clarification on this.

  • Button link to a specific frame in time line

Ok I have created my buttons and the content for the specific
frames. I have named the button and given it an instance name. I
have also given my specific frame a name and set that label type to
    Name.
Whats the code for turning getting my button to link to a
    specific frame?
I've also done the stop() code in each frame as I want it to
stop at each frame until the button is clicked again.
I have more than one button and each will link to a different
    frame.
    Thanks.

I've duplicated an FLA with exactly the assets you have in
the same places, with the code on the main timeline. And mine
didn't work, just the same problem as you had. The solution I
proposed above works, but it is not the only way (See #2 below).
On Frame 1, select the UIScrollbar. if you look in the
Parameters tab of your UIScrollbar component, you'll notice that
    the
    scrolltargetName refers to
Instance_0. This is a default instance name assigned by the
Flash compiler, because you did not give your dynamic textfield an
instance, and your UIscollbar is referencing that. Now go to Frame
    4. You will find that your dynamic textfield has the same instance
name, and the UIScrollbar is referencing the same instance. Problem
is, you have more than one textfield on more than one frame using
and referencing the same instance name, your UIScrollbars will get
confused as to which textfield is actually "Instance_0". The moment
you click to another frame, you've confused the UIScrollbar(s), so
    they never work again.
    The solution is simple.
First, put a stop() action on the first frame, if you have
not already done so, so your timeline stays put until you click on
    a button.
Then you can solve the problem in one of two ways:
Give your textfields different instance names, and make sure
    the
scrolltargetName property of each UIScrollbar refers to its
    respective textfield.
Or set the text dynamically, which after all is what a dynamic
textfield is for. Have only one textfield/UIscrollbar combo, on the
first frame, and place code on a keyframe for each section which
    changes the
    text or
    htmlText property of the textfield.
That should work. It did on mine.

  • Linking to a specific Acrobat page from an HTML document

    Hi –
I need to create links from a website to specific pages/locations within a PDF document which is hosted on our server. When I was creating PDFs with Acrobat 8 Professional, I would just create a link in the site HTML that had the page number at the end (like: <a href=http://www.website.com/document.pdf#page=6>, and it worked fine. We upgraded to Acrobat 9 last fall, and it seems that this particular trick no longer works. I’ve also tried creating destinations, but still no dice.
Any suggestions? I found one forum thread from last year that detailed a similar issue in Acrobat 9, but the issue was not resolved. Thanks.

    The simplest way:
in the HTML you expand the two occurences of "movie.swf" (in
the object and embed tag) to "movie.swf?jump=50", where "jump" is
the variable name and "50" is the frame somewhere in the middle of
your movie.swf that you want to start with.
In the first frame of movie.swf you have actionscript
    if(this._framesloaded<jump) {
    this.gotoAndPlay(1)}
    else {
    this.gotoAndPlay(jump)}
Of course, this doesn't check for error conditions and has
other weaknesses, but I hope you get the point.
    Good luck
    Wolf

  • Newbie - Linking to a specific topic

    Hello,
I just got RoboHelp 7 today and a bit lost. Here is my
issue. I'm an App Dev Project manager. I came onto a project that
has an application that links to a RoboHelp project. All links
within the application send the user to the default.htm. Which is
nice because you have the search tool and the left side navigation
pane. However, inside of our application we have help links that
appear to be very specific to a topic, yet when you click on the
link you get the default page. We can create links right to a
specific htm page from our application, but when we do that we only
get the topic and none of the nice features that Robo help adds,
like the navigation pane. What I'd like to do, is create a link
that takes a user to the help files with the appearance that you
get when you go to the default page, but instead of sending them to
the default page, send them to a specific help file.
Can anyone get me pointed in the right direction? Should we
use bookmarks in Robohelp? If so, how do we link to them.
Thank you so much (in advance)!

This isn't working for me. The URL of the base help page is:
    file:///C:/makana/kahuna/help/Motivator/!SSL!/WebHelp/Motivator.htm
and in trying to follow the instructions in the web article,
    I changed it to:
    file:///C:/makana/kahuna/help/Motivator/!SSL!/WebHelp/Motivator.htm?#path/Alignment_Best_ Practices.htm
where Alignment_Best_Practices.htm is one of the other pages
in the !SSL!/WebHelp folder. This makes a File Not Found error. Am
    I doing something wrong? Thanks.
