  • How to create Application Workspace with Jdeveloper 10g 1.3.2?

    Following the instructions in "Developing and Using ADF Faces Skins", I am trying to create an Application Workspace.
    The instruction says: "In JDeveloper, create a new Application workspace and name it - ADFFaces_skin_sample"
    I can not find the way to create Application workspace with Jdeveloper 10g 1.3.2.
    Because when I click FILE==>New I got "New Gallery--Application" in left, in right only got "Application, Empty project, File, Java Class, Java Interface". There is no "workspace" item.
    I try to use Jdeveloper 10g 1.3.1, got same result.
    I found other ADF Skin training samples. All of them asked to create Application Workspace. But the Jdeveloper version used by all those samples were earlier than 10g 10.1.3.2
    Please let know how to create "Application Workspace"?

    What used to be "Application Workspace" in 10.1.2 is "Application" in 10.1.3.2

  • How to create .ear file in JDeveloper 10g

    Hi, I am new to Jdeveloper. I am using JDeveloper 10g. I have created one project abc.jws under which there are five .jpr folders(DTO.jpr,persistence.jpr,service.jpr,util.jpr,ViewController.jpr). I want to create .ear file for the whole project so that it can be directly put in the production environment. When I right click on the abc.jws and select New, the EAR option under deployment profiles is disabled. I would highly appreciate if someone can help me on this.
    Thanks.

  • How to create a "pjc" using jdeveloper 10g

    Hi guys
    I am trying to make my first pjc (pluggable java component) using jdeveloper (default installation with Oracle developer 10g). I was following the [Jdeveloper 9 documentation||http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/forms/index-087743.html] from OTN and got stuck once after creating the PJC1.java
    According to the documentation, the property inspector should allow me to change various properties for the newly created .java file and let me add new events with the events tab. In my case, once after I select the java item from UI, the property inspector doesn't show anything. No tabs for properties or events :O
    If somebody could point me towards Oracle documentation for Jdeveloper 10g, it would grateful.
    regards,
    raj

    Oracle jDeveloper 10.1.2.1.0 was the last version the inclued the Forms PJC Wizards. All versions after this didn't include them. You can actually develop a PJC using any IDE, but I have found using the PJC Wizard to be extreamly helpful. Java is not my strongest skill and I don't do a lot of Java PJC development so I keep this version installed for when I need to work on PJCs.
    Craig...Thank you Craig. We are with Oracle ERP R12 from 2009 June and almost all our legacy applications were either made a part of the ERP suite, or hosted with Weblogic server 10.3.6. As leading the development team, my biggest challenge is making the custom applications migrated to 11g forms/Reports "behave" exactly like the ERP suite.
    We wanted to design a parameter screen for the reports, almost like with ERP Suite, where the parameter columns are dynamically created during runtime and the biggest challenge was to limit the MAXIMUM LENGTH for those columns, thus started our venture to find an appropriate solution. After spending almost 20 years in the field of software development, I just didn't want to copy a jar file from the web and get over with it. Instead I wanted to understand what the codes do.
    Anyway, Francois was kind enough to provide the .java with his pjc blog and I created a new pjc based on this .java code :) and my objective was satisfied. If Oracle really wants to "kill" the forms/reports, I think they just should do that, instead of removing few highly sought components with so called "Newer versions"
    Ridiculously the documentation library for JDeveloper 10.1.0 is empty, even though it is listed with Oracle documentation library.

  • Simple question on creating an applet in JDeveloper 10g

    the Help says:
    To create a Java applet: In the Navigator, select the project in which you want to create the new applet. Choose File | New to open the New Gallery. In the Categories tree, expand Client Tier and select Swing/AWT. In the Items list, double-click Applet to open the New Applet dialog.This will open the New Applet dialog that will create the applet for you based on information you specify, including the name, package and class it extends. Press F1 or click H elp to obtain context-sensitive help in the dialog.
    Yet when I select Swing/AWT, the Items list has no Applet choice; the choices are:
    Dialog
    Frame
    Java Application
    Java Web Start (JNLP) Files
    Panel
    so how does one create an Applet?

    Select Web Tier>Applet in the New Gallery.

  • JSP ADF Tree Binding in JDeveloper 10g

    I am attempting to create a JSP hierarchical tree structure in JDeveloper 10g. I can successfully create the tree structure for two levels only. I need to be able to create a tree 5 or more levels deep. I have created an ADF Master Detail structure using the sample OE schema for three levels and to the best of my knowledge, I have set up the rules correctly using the Tree Binding Editor accessed by a creating a new binding under Create Binding > Input > Tree for the UIModel of the test web application I created. However, in the JSP page, I can only access the first two levels. The code I'm using is as follows:
    <c:forEach var="masterRow" items="${bindings.CustomerOrdersTree.rootNodeBinding.children}">
    <c:out value="${masterRow.CustomerId}"/> -
    <c:out value="${masterRow.CustFirstName}"/>
    <c:out value="${masterRow.CustLastName}"/><br>
    <c:forEach var="ordersChildRow" items="${masterRow.children}">
    <c:out value="${ordersChildRow.OrderId}"/><br>
    <c:forEach var="Row2" items="${ordersChildRow.children}">
    </c:forEach>
    </c:forEach>
    </c:forEach>
    The first two levels display fine, but the third level is not displaying. What syntax should I be using to traverse further levels of the tree binding? Is it even possible? Thanks.
    Note: I didn't connect any event handlers for collapsing or expanding data. I'm just trying to display everything right now.

    I have the nodeExpanded attribute on the second level, set up exactly as the first level. I have a toggleSelection method on the second level (View Object) as well. I've stepped through this method and the arguments are passed correctly and the transient attribute is updated correctly. I'm calling this method through a second DataAction like treeHandler, and this works as far as calling the correct method with the correct argument values.
    The breakdown occurs back on the JSP. Even though the transient attibute gets populated accurately according to the toggleSelection method, when accessing that attribute on the JSP, it returns a null value. I can access all the other attributes from the same View Object, except for the transient attribute. I'm not sure what else to try.
    I'm starting to doubt this is even the best solution for a tree structure. With the way Oracle's example is set up, you would have to nest so many if-then structures in order to keep track of all the nodeExpanded attributes and which data to display or not, and I anticipate view state issues and caching problems.

    Not in iWeb itself.
    You have to create these menus yourself. Start here :

    Also, see podcast episode 9 of

    and then add them to a webpage with the HTML Snippet.

  • Drop Down Menu on Jdeveloper 10g - REVISED

    Hello Gurus, I am using Jdeveloper 10g. I know that drop down menus are not supported in Jdeveloper10g/ADF and available from it's next release onwards which is Jdeveloper 11g. Hence, to develop drop down menus on a menu bar I am using HTML and Java script. The issue that I am facing - the horizontal menubar displays always on the top of the webpage overlapping other web page objects. This is not where we want to display the menu bar. Instead, it needs to show up somewhere on the middle of the web page. No matter what I do, it displays the menu bar on top most part of the web page. Always. Below is the code snippet. Any help in this regard is highly appreciated. Thank you for your time and efforts.

  • How to use Jdeveloper 10g (10.1.3.4.0) or 11g to create J2ME apps?

    I can't find any tutorials or documentation in how to do this in the current version of Jdeveloper 10g or 11g.
    All I could find was the Jdeveloper Wireless Extension 9.0.5 but this doesn't work in either versions.
    Also I don't want to do browser apps or I would just do the Mobile ADF, I want to do MIdlets more specifically one that will connect to a Web Service.
    If any one could point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it!

    Due to improvements in network coverage and communications, the need for a truly disconnected/on device application is diminishing. If your requirements can be mostly met with an online solution, I would recommend checking out ADF Mobile in 11g that support you to create a browser application optimized for mobile browsers.
    What is the scenario that you are trying to support? Feel free to reply to this thread or to me directly. There are efforts in the works, and I'd like to hear what you are trying to build.
    Thanks,

  • Creating weblogic-cmp-rdbms-jar.xml from JDeveloper 10g

    Hi
    is any one aware if I can create the weblogic-cmp-rdbms-jar.xml from the Jdeveloper 10g. I know that it definitely does not have this deployment discriptor in the list.
    Is there any other way of creating this via JDeveloper.
    if not would it be a good feature to have?

    A schema for weblogic-cmp-rdbms-jar.xml may be registered and an XML document based on the schema generated.

  • JDeveloper 10G (BPEL Designer): how to create db connection to Oracle Lite

    I want to create a JDeveloper database connection to the Oracle Lite database installed with JDeveloper 10G BPEL Designer, but haven't been able to find any info on the subject.
    Can anyone point me to some info or walk me through it?
    Regards

    To connect JDeveloper 10g to an Oracle Lite database, you will need to follow this setup.
    1. Create an ODBC entry for the Oracle Lite database. If you have installed Oracle Lite 10g Mobile Development Kit, you should have a copy of POLITE.ODB pre-installed. Check your ODBC.ini, or run Administrative Tools > Data Sources (ODBC), and follow the polite entry pattern. If you create a new Oracle Lite database, you must create a matching enrty in the ODBC configuration file.
    2. In JDeveloper, create a new connection for your Oracle Lite database.
    The Connection Name should match your entry in ODBC for ease of reading.
    The Connection Type should be Oracle Lite.
    The Username is system.
    The Password is xxx.
    The Deploy Password box is checked.
    The Datasource Name must match the ODBC entry exactly.
    Leave the rest of the fields as is.
    Test your new connection.
    Enjoy.
