Creating new material using i/b MATMAS IDOC

Hi mates,
I'm trying to create a material in R/3 using an inbound MATMAS IDOC. The material type I use is confiugured for internal number assignment. So, I'm leaving the E1MARAM-MATNR blank.
But, the IDOC failing saying 'No Material Transfered'.
I'm using '005' for the field MSGFN in E1MARAM, E1MAKTM, E1MARMM etc. Is this the right value?
I'm trying to create a material with only the basic view data maintained.
Whats wrong/missing in my config?
I appreciate ur inputs.

Hi Praveen,
Use WE19 transaction to execute the function module IDOC_INPUT_MATMAS01.
Use different values for the MSGFN field and check it

    New material can be created by using a BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEDATA.

    2) create a material
    3) go to transaction BD10 , give material no  and then execute.
    4) go to transaction WE02 to chk the status.
    if you want to send Outbound idoc automatically once the material is cretaed then use change pointers concept.

    Grouping of Material that have same basic  properties  can be assigned to one material type.
    While creating new material types following points to be considered as material type controls following things,
    1) Material is intended for certain purpose ( For ex consumption)
    2) Whether  material Number to be assigned internally or externally
    3) Number range intervals
    4) Screen sequence & which screens to be appeared
    5)Which user data can be entered
    6) Which procurement type ( Internal or external)
    7) Inventory management i.e. value & qty update  required..
    You can also change material type for a material  under following conditions.
    1) Old & new material type must be assigned to same account category,
    OR
    2) No. open PO ,stocks or reservations

    sorry, that is a typo in the english translation of the note. The original german says: "Dies bedeutet, dass zu einem Material die erste Charge jeweils immer auf ERP-Seite angelegt und an das EWM-System übertragen werden muss, da hierdurch die Verbindung zwischen Material und Klasse angelegt wird."
    (now translated from me): This means that, for a material, the first batch is always created in the ERP system and must be transferred to the EWM system because this creates the connection between material and class.

    While creating new material type we are giving the Filed ref. on that basis sytem find which fields are option mand. etc. below the filed ref. there is also SRef for material type , why this fileld is use ? if this is screen sequence ref. then what is use of industry sector when creating material bcoz industry sector also determines the scrren ref. then which will follow when we creat the material.

    Hi,
    SRef is the Screen reference .
    You have to create the Sref then it should assign depending on the transaction.
    Grouping of transactions that determines what screens are displayed depending on the transaction when you maintain material master records. It also determines the order in which the screens appear.
    The screen reference Transaction is in table T130M.
    In material master the first reference is industry sector,then specific to the industry sector what is the material type & screen sequence.

    Hi everybody
    im trying to create a new material using BAPI through C#.
    im using BAPI_MATERIAL_GETINTNUMBER then BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEDATA to create the new material and everything working but when i try to create a new purchase order for the new material i got a message saying the material is not activated or does not exist. i can find the new material in the MARA table.
    Any advise will be helpfull.

    there is an error encountered while creating a material using BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEDATA..
    The Error description is " Material description is not transfered " even after supplying the Material description and other mandatory field information like industrial sector, material type ,basic view indicator,Base UOM,Base UOM ISO code.
    Please let me know the solution, if you know.

  • Creating new file using report generation express vi

    Hello,
    In my application, I need to write certain data in excel sheet. For that I created an excel template and I used the express vi in report generation toolkit to save the appropriate data in appropritate columns. I need a new file created everyday by that day's name and write the data to it rest of the day. I am having problems creating new file using this express vi. I tried using the low level vi's but not been able to it properly.

    am configure the ale program now . the problem is occured during the creating the material using mm01.
    am using client 000 (sending system). and i want to send the material to the client 400(receiving system)
    while am  save the created material using t-code mm01 in client 000 . it depicts the error as
    syntax error in program SAPLC140. 
    plz resolve this problem.

        In MM01 transaction code u have a problem..normally u will go to mm01 screen to create the material..i thought the same error will occur...so call basis to rectify this problem..

    to occur, the running program was terminated.
    The reason for the exception is:
    If you use an ABAP/4 Open SQL array insert to insert a record in
    the database and that record already exists with the same key,
    this results in a termination.
    (With an ABAP/4 Open SQL single record insert in the same error
    situation, processing does not terminate, but SY-SUBRC is set to 4.)

    i am having some issue while creating new services using ORADIM utility.
    The Errors are:
    18:13:28 SYS@vik 24-MAY-11> host oradim -delete -sid vik
    Instance deleted.
    18:13:52 SYS@vik 24-MAY-11> host oradim -new -sid vik -intpwd oracle -startmode A -maxusers 100 -pfile D:\app\vikash.chauradia\product\11.1.0\db_1\database\initvik.ora -timeout 60
    OPW-00005: File with same name exists - please delete or rename
    Instance created.
    Error while deleting value, OS Error = 2
    Can anyone please help me to fiinf the solution?

    check for the files in ORACLE_HOME/database. You have dropped existing instance and creating service again, move all the files to other folder then create using ORADIM

    I want to create new Material Group XXX and be included in the range of fiscal year K1 & K2
    How do I connect these two fiscal year to the new Material Group

    I hope  there is no assignment of GL account to material group. If you want that, you can assign Valuation class to material group in OMQW transaction.
    Because of the valuation class, the system can find the assigned G/L account number in OBYC. In this case Transaction Key GBB and General modification VBR.

  • Creating new Positions using RH_CREATE_POSITIONS?

    I tried to use the RFC rh_create_positions to create new positions using C#. But
    i get an error:"Screen output without connection to user".
    Well is there any work around for it or is there any other RFC/BAPI i can use to create positions under an org unit.

    Yes, the BAPI doesn't create the position ID.  You need three tables to be populated for update
    1. hr_object_header - one entry for entire update
    2. hr_infotype_header - one entry for each infotype record update
    3. pd_object - required if you have IT1000 in hr_infotype_header
    4. pd_object_relationships - required if you have IT1001 in hr_infotype header
    Similarly all other tables need update based on records on hr_infotype_header.
