Creating objects only with role grants.

Good afternoon, everybody.
I'm having a problem to compile some procedures in a scheme, let's call it scheme A.
This scheme A is receiving privileges to execute a function(B.get_date) of other scheme, let's call it scheme B, through a role B_STUFF.
When I try to compile a procedure from scheme A that uses the function B.get_date, it doesn't compile because there are
insufficient privileges for scheme A to execute that function, but I already gave that privilege through the role B_STUFF.
Nevertheless it only works when I give direct grant execute on function B.get_date to schema A.
Here is the example of my problem:
create function B.get_date return date
is
Begin
return sysdate;
end;
grant execute on function B.get_date to B_STUFF;
grant B_STUFF to A;
create procedure A.proc
is
begin
....uses the function B.get_date....
end;
Invalid object.
Is there a way to do this without having to give direct privilege of an object to a schema?
Thanks for the attention...
Regards...

Is there a way? Yes. But it's probably not what you want...
SQL> ed
Wrote file afiedt.buf
  1  create or replace procedure a.proc
  2    authid current_user
  3  is
  4    l_dt date;
  5  begin
  6    execute immediate 'select b.get_date from dual' into l_dt;
  7    dbms_output.put_line( l_dt );
  8* end;
SQL> /
Procedure created.
SQL> set serveroutput on;
SQL> exec a.proc;
06-FEB-13
PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.will work. Any user that wants to execute the A.PROC procedure will need to have the ability to call B.GET_DATE (either directly or via a role).
In general, since roles can be enabled or disabled in a session, password protected, made default or non-default, etc. you can't use them when you're creating persistent objects. Otherwise, if A has two sessions open and in one session B_STUFF is enabled and in the other the role is disabled, Oracle would have a very hard time figuring out whether the A.PROC procedure should be valid or not. And then what happens when both of those sessions are terminated-- which set of roles should Oracle then use for A's persistent objects? That's why Oracle generally depends on privileges that are granted directly to a user when you're trying to create persistent objects.

    Hi Kesava,
    what is the purpose of creating a business system of type IS? This is automatically done in the post installation by CTC templates. So if the post installation is successfully executed, this should already be there. And if not you should check if the post installation was properly executed and if there where problems analyse why they occured.
    The creation of the BS is just one part of the game, so I would highly recommend to execute the hole post configuration via template or follow the help.sap.com and execute it step by step manually in the described order. Otherwise i guess this will not work.
    If there where just problems with SLD - please also have a look at SA Note 1117249 - Incomplete Registration of PI components in SLD

  • Create business partner with role 'Internet User' via BP

    Hi,
    We want to create business partner with role 'BUP005 Internet User'
    for purpose to link with created early user su01.
    It's work via isauseradm application, Web UI.
    Now I want to create new role 'BUP005 Interner user' via GUI. I started Tcode BP.
    I filled USERNAME, password, roles. I tried to save BP.
    I got this error:
    Enter the Internet user
    Message no. R11214
    You have maintained attributes (logon data, roles and/or fixed values) for the Internet user, without having entered the Internet user itself.
    But,
    Field 'INTERNETUSER' is not changeble.
    Denis.

    Hi, DJ
    Thank you for answer)
    1. Have you saved the BP. If Yes, just see if the INTERNET USER maintained is available in SU01.
    Yes, but I can not see  INTERNET USER in the BP.
    2. If you are not able to assign the INTERNET USER, please try to maintain the INTERNET USER in BP.
    I can not do it, because I can not change field INTERNET USER
    3. If the INTERNET USER field is not available, just check the authorization for the same.
    I has all authorization: sap_all.

  • How to create business partner with Role : "Loyalty Partner"

    Hello,
    During the creation of Loyalty Program, we can add loyalty partners which are Business Partners created with Role --> "Loyalty Partner". In standard package I could not see the the Role "Loyalty Partner"
    For this role to be available during the creation of Business Partner, does any business functionality needs to be activated or should we create new role "Loyalty Partner" through BDT
    Thanks
    Ram

    Hi Vishal
    Thanks for your explanation but I think it has not answered my question fully.
    Yes, I do agree that only Loyalty Partners can be added in a Loyalty Program and those are Business Partners.
    If you read through my question, I have asked how the system differentiates between Business Partners for example a sold to party and Loyalty Partner.  In other words, which part of data in the Business Partner is the one which actually differentiates a Loyal Partner with other Business Partners. I think, just creating a Business Partner with Role --> Loyaly Partner will not serve our purpose.
    The BP view is the same and the BP Role category does not contain my customization to differentiate this
    Hope you understand what I am trying to say. Please let me know if you have any questions !!
    Regards

  • How to create objects dynamically (with dynamic # of parameters)

    I need to create a set of objects based on a definition from an XML file (obtained from the server) and add them to my scene.
    I understand how to create the object using getDefinitionByName (and the limitations regarding classes needing to be referenced to be loaded into the SWF).
    But some objects require parameters for the constructor, and some don't. The XML can easily pass in the required parameter information, but I can't figure out how to create a new object with a dynamic set of arguments (something akin to using the Function.call(obj, argsArray) method.
    For example, I need something like this to work:
    var mc=new (getDefinitionByName(str) as Class).call(thisNewThing, argsArray)
    Currently this is as far as I can get:
    var mc=new (getDefinitionByName(str) as Class)(static, list, of, arguments)
    Thoughts?

    I think what Dave is asking is a bit different.
    He's wanting to know how to invoke the constructor of an object dynamically (when he only knows the # of constructor arguments at runtime).
    This class I know will do it but seems to be a hack:
    http://code.google.com/p/jsinterface/source/browse/trunk/source/core/aw/utils/ClassUtils.a s?spec=svn12&r=12
    See the 'call' method, which first counts the # of arguments then invokes one of 'n' construction methods based on the number of constructor args.
    I've yet to find a clean AS3 way of doing things ala 'call' though.

    null field label doesn't exist you have to create return field in process form and map this field to provisioning lookup. In this lookup CodeKey should be your process form field and Decode should be __UID__

  • Create object on user's default tablespace only

    Hi all,
    Is there anyway I can limit a user to create tables NOT on system tablespace , besides alter user quota 0M on system ?
    Can I limit a user to create objects only on his own default tablespace ?
    alter user quota 0M on < all other tablespaces except user's default> ?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    I have really no idea why oracle is behaving like this. How can you create a table without a quota.
    1) Write here the oracle version for your database software
    2) Can you try connecting to the database with same user id but from a remote client using TNS method instead of logging in locally, and they try creating the table.
    3) Can you give only CREATE SESSION privilege (not create table) and then perform the same task again.
    PS: Please paster your code/output enclosed withing code tag. Write **, then your code/output and then again *{code*

    hi amjad,
    this is to inform you that you cannot achieve this in standard configuration.
    but with technical person you can achieve the same.
    I have created one Sales Order with Four Materails (A,B,C,D) - ok
    Now I want to create delivery - here the delivery should not be created only with Materail A - ok.
    that means to create a delivery i have to enter materail B or C or D with A (with single materail A delivery should not create) - ok
    this is copy control routine from sales document to delivery document.
    logic for the same is:
    read VBAP-POSNR 10,20,30 & 40 & VBAP-MATNR that is MATERIAL A,B,C,& D.
    check if when ever VBAP-POSNR 10 - material -A is coming into the delivery whether the associated VBAP - POSNR's (any one). is there or not.
    if it is there with any one of the POSNR's then process it other wise "E" message with "No Associated Materials Exist for Material A"
    note : for this process please copy and create a new sales order to delivery to billing documents.
    hope this helps.
    please check with your abaper and update the forum.

  • Script for Users, Roles,Grant,Tablespace

    Hi,
    Please guide me on the following .
    I am moving database to new Unix server .
    so can I create the script which will check the existing Users, Roles, Grants, Tablespaces from current database and store that data.
    And using same soared data I want to create the same " Users, Roles, Grants, Tablespaces" using the script.
    Can i do this. Please guide me how to do this so I will help me to move database
    Thanks,
    Amol

    You should run ?\rdbms\admin\utlrp (note the ?, which is shorthand for ORACLE_HOME) from the database server. to make sure you have the correct script. You can call sqlplus from Toad easily.
    The script affects PL/SQL only. PL/SQL resides in the SYSTEM tablespace in the SYS schema. You don't have 400G of PL/SQL. It should take a few minutes only.
    The SYSTEM schema WILL be imported. SYS will not be imported, but automagically recreated. The only thing you will miss is Grants which have been made by SYS directly to end-users or roles, outside those defined in catalog.sql

  • How do I create a dropdown with three options so that only one is visible in a form (non-flowable)

    I'm working on a form which needs to provides three options for the user out of a drop down list. When the user chooses one option, only that subform is to be visible. Two of the three subforms are text fields, and the third subform is a series of fields which are editable by the user.
    How do i create a dropdown with three options in it, so that in each instance only one subform is visible? This needs to happen in the same space on the main form.

    Hi Nellie,
    Here is the form back to you. There were three main issues:
    In order for dynamic behaviour, like showing and hiding, the form must be saved as a Dynamic XML Form in the save-as dialog.
    While you can use a minus sign when naming objects and subforms, it will cause scripts to fail. I have changed the name of the subforms so that they now use an underscore.
    The dropdown had specified values in the Object > Binding palette (1, 2, 3), so the script needs to use these in the if statements.
    When sharing forms on Acrobat.com, the best option is to select the file in your workspace and then click Publish. This will make it available to anyone who has the published URL.
    I hope that helps,
    Niall

    Hi
    1. First create a user like readonlyweblogic using some password in Weblogic Console. In Weblogic Console itself, select this new user and go to his Group Memberships and add a Group named Monitors. This means this user has Monitor role for Weblogic Console. Monitor is a Read Only access role to the weblogic console.
    2. NOW, with full admin privileges user, login into EM Console. Select soa_infra, right click mouse -> Security -> Application Roles. On right side, click green arrow and see list of Roles shown. Select the role named SOAMonitors, click on this. And add a User to this that is created above like "readonlyweblogic".
    3. Close all the browsers. Open a new browser and test weblogic console and em console with this new user.
    I have this setup like this in many envs and they all work fine. They are read only access users for admin console and em console.
    Thanks
