Where did you get that script and what are you trying to do, exactly (generally, I got that your aim is "creating partner application in Oracle").

  • Registering a Partner application with Oracle SSO 10gR2

    Hi Everybody
I'd like to ask a question around registering a partner application with Oracle SSO.
I have entered my home_url, logout_url and cancel_url e.g. home_url is https://vevopuitest1.co.uk/vevo_test1 and so on for the other fields.
When I save the details some information is automatically created e.g. Site Id, Site Token etc.
The bit that I am particularly interested in are the fields Single Sign-On URL and Single Sign-Off URL.
For my purposes these fields are respectively: https://cwassotest1.co.uk/pls/orasso/orasso.wwsso_app_admin.ls_login and https://cwassotest1.co.uk/pls/orasso/orasso.wwsso_app_admin.ls_logout
    My questions are:
    1. Where do these values come from?
    2. Can I view them anywhere, say, in Oracle Directory Manager or using ldif queries?
I would like to be able to verify these values.
    Many Thanks
    Andy

I'm afraid this won't answer your question completely, but AFAIK in principle it does not matter on which machine SSO is running, as long as it passes the user id and credentials properly through the HTTP Header. Even more: in practice it is very common to have SSO running on a different machine than where your app runs.
So what I would do is find out how to use ADF Faces with SSO. Perhaps someone else can provide pointers on that.

  • Create a report in oracle portal based on a different database.

    Hello,
I'm trying to create a report in oracle portal based on table in a different database than te one from portal.
I have allready succesfully added a new DAD in the enterprise manager, but how can I select that database in the portal environment?

  • [Problem]Registering "External Applications" in Oracle Portal

We want to register an external application (simple HTML based login application) with Oracle Portal 10.1.4. We followed the steps documented and registered the external application. We did provide the necessary credentials and checked the remember credentials check box.
We added the External Application Portlet which provides a link to the added application. However, everytime we click the link , instead of automatically logging into external application , we are shown the external application login screen.
Our environment: Oracle 10.1.4 Portal ; Oracle 10.1.2 Appserver
Appreciate any help to solve the problem.
    Thanks

    Hey 619948:
These can be tricky to track down. Typically, there are 1 or more form fields missing from the external application that the actual application needs to log you in. Here's the flow I use to setup external apps.
    1) Go to login page of the external app and view the page source
    2) Find the URL in the action address of the <FORM tag or in the JavaScript used for submitting the form
    3) Find every form input including <INPUT, <SELECT, etc and note their names and their values (if any). This includes hidden ones
    4) The tricky part -- try to make an educated guess as to which fields are required and which ones are optional. This is not always obvious
    5) Setup your external application with the Action URL as the URL, the username and password fields where indicated and adding in any extra fields identified in step 4
If that still doesn't do the trick, I use the Web Developer plugin for Firefox to change the POST (if that is what is used for logging in) to a GET so I can see the exact fields being submitted on the application's login page. Sometimes, it may be an obscure button like submit=submit.
Finally, some applications just don't play well with externally logging in. This is one of the cases where it really isn't Oracle Portal's doing. Some apps just have so much coding and scripts etc. on their login page that you just can't login except through thier page.

  • ADF Application and Oracle Portal Login Page

We have developed ADF application and deployed it in Oracle AS 10.1.2 along with the custom JAAS module, which is working fine with the application custom login page. As a next page, I want to use Oracle Portal login page for the authentication and authorization.
How can I accomplished it? Any idea?
    Thanks,
    AP

    Shay,
    1. I created blank ADF project
    2. I copied myreport.jsp file (this one was generated by Oracle Report Builder) under ..ViewController/public_html directory
    3. Created directory 'lib' under ViewController/public_html/WEB-INF/lib
    4. Copied reports_tld.jar file under the directory created in 3.
    5. Created simple jspx page with the af:link (btw af:goLink does not exists in JDev 12c), set 'destination' to myreport.jsp
After the steps above I could not even compile the application, many problems too many to list here, Basically JDev is trying to build the project with .jsp file generated in Report Builder and is unable to.
So to be sure we are on the same page: I am trying to embed JSP report files generated by Report Builder into ADF project, then create EAR file and deploy on standalone WLS. Finally execute JSP web only report.

  • ApEx 2.1.0.00.39 as Partner Application in Oracle AS Single Sign-On

    Hi,
I've installed the last Application Express 2.1.0.00.39 (oracle-xe-10.2.0.1-1.0.i386.rpm and oracle-xe-univ-10.2.0.1-1.0.i386.rpm) but, when I try to "create an authentication scheme" for configure an ApEx application to use SSO under
    Home>Application Builder>Application xxx>Shared Components>Authentication Schemes>Create Authentication Scheme
in the second step of the procedure I don't find the choice "Oracle Application Server Single Sign-On (Application Express engine as Partner App)".
    I found only these:
    - Show Built-In Login Page and Use Open Door Credentials
    - Show Login Page and Use Application Express Account Credentials
    - Show Login Page and Use Database Account Credentials
    - Show Login Page and Use LDAP Directory Credentials
    - No Authentication (using DAD)
even if under the help voice "V Information" the others two are describes:
Oracle Application Server Single Sign-On (Application Express engine as Partner App) delegates authentication to the Oracle Application Server Single Sign-On (SSO) Server. This Application Express site must have already been registered as a partner application with the SSO server. For more information, contact your administrator.
Oracle Application Server Single Sign-On (My application as Partner App) delegates authentication to the SSO server. In this case, you must register an application with SSO as a partner application. See the next page for more details.
Does Someone know how to resolve it?
    Thanks
    Emanuele

Thanks for all your help Scott
    I've added the -PORTAL_SSO- .....
After this I've had a new problem same to this: Re: SSO Authentication Not Working
"get the error below and it then directs me to http://hostx/htmldb/f? and the "p=" is missing"
But after a lot of tests I discovered where was the problem: "The apache configuration for the proxy!!"
This an extract from the installation doc :
    SetEnv force-proxy-request-1.0 1
    ProxyPass /htmldb http://127.0.0.1:8080/htmldb
    ProxyPassReverse /htmldb http://127.0.0.1:8080/htmldb
    ProxyPass /i http://127.0.0.1:8080/i
    ProxyPassReverse /i http://127.0.0.1:8080/i
    ProxyPass /sys http://127.0.0.1:8080/sys
    ProxyPassReverse /sys http://127.0.0.1:8080/sys
where you replace 127.0.0.1 with the name OR ip address of your XE installation. 8080 is the default http port of your XE installation. "
Well, I used the IP ADDRESS and in the @regapp > listener_token the NAME!!! (HTML_DB:servername.domain:80)
I changed the IP ADDRESS with the NAME, restarted the httpd service and now all works fine.

  • Partner application access to portal login info

How can an SSO partner application (Java) tell whether or not a user has logged in to Portal?
I need to log activity in a public application servlet, so I'd like to log the user as PUBLIC if not logged in or as their actual userid.
I don't seem to have access to this info until the user has visited a secure part of the app.
    Any pointers would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Rob

    DIY answer ...
The cludge I used to get round this was ...
Make a PL/SQL item which displays a Login or Logout link as appropriate, based on the current userid from portal.wwctx_api.get_user.
The login link goes to a secure portal page called FORCE_LOGIN, passing a URL parameter called nextPageURL which contains the URL of the next page to show after the login is complete. You can use portal.wwpro_api_parameters.get_value( '_pageid', 'a'); to help build the current page URL if you want to retun to the current page.
The FOIRCE_LOGIN page contains a PL/SQL item which builds an IFRAME whos src is a URL to my app servlet ForceLoginServlet, passing on the nextPageURL parameter. Use portal.wwpro_api_parameters.get_value( 'nextPageURL', 'a'); to help with that.
The ForceLoginServlet is a secure servlet (set up in web.xml) so that forces a silent authentication to my app. All the servlet does is display HTML to redirect back to the URL in nextPageURL.
Horrible! But it does the job.
Anyone who know a better way of doing this, please tell me.

  • Custom DB authentication to an application from Oracle Portal not working.

    Hi All,
We have a Portal customized and integrated to LDAP for SSO.
From the portal, we have a link that takes to another custom application that requires another level of authentication. We have implemented this authentication as custom Database based authentication.
When user login to the portal and access this link, he will be directed for authentication again. This custom application has been installed on a different OC4J instance while Oracle Portal is running in a different OC4J instance.
Issue is though user details are being propagated to the custom application page, we are receiving an error saying authentication failed.
In the OC4J instance specific for this custom application, we have configured jazn.xml to use custom authentication.
    Below is the code:
    <?xml version = '1.0' encoding = 'UTF-8' standalone = 'yes'?>
<!DOCTYPE jazn PUBLIC "JAZN Config" "http://xmlns.oracle.com/ias/dtds/jazn-9_04.dtd">

    <property name="role.mapping.dynamic" value="true"/>
    <property name="custom.loginmodule.provider" value="true"/>
    </jazn>
and in jazn-data.xml, we gave the role mapping.
But the problem is when the link to the custom application is accessed, it seems like the custom autentication mechanism is not working.
Can anyone throw light on this?
Do we need to give the same configuration in the j2ee/home/config directory files also?
Can we use both LDAP and custom DB authentication with in the same OAS setup. Remember as of now, Portal and custom application are running in different OC4J instances but within the same OAS.
Any help in this regard will be highely appreciated.

  • Integrating existing Web application with Oracle Portal

    Hi,
I have an existing application which is purely written in servlets and which is in use for quite some time. I have a requirement now of moving this application onto the Oracle Portal.
I was just wondering if we have any quick meanse of doing this or we have to re develop from scratch in oracle Portal server(ByDefining page, Page templates..etc).
    Advance thanks for your help
    Thanks
    Sreedhar

What do you mean with "moving this application onto the Oracle Portal"?
The best expedite way is use in the portal a LINK that direct your users to the actual app.
Another quick thing you could do is use the IFRAME TAG (only works in IE). This way you can embed your app in Portal (show it in some area in portal)
    Then comes the complex things:
    - You can activate SSO to your applications ( which is not THAT difficult)
    - You can PORTLATIZATE your app, this doesn't means that you have to rewrite all, but still you need to write in a "Oracle Java Way" some thing to get it work..
You can see this link if you're using portal 10.1.2:

  • Document Management System created with Oracle Portal

I am currently reponsible for creating a DMS with Oracle Portal 10.1.4. I want to know, are folders usually represented as Portlets or Page Items?

One more question. Our Oracle Portal system will be the "window" into several other applications, including Oracle Discoverer and external applications. The plan is that the functionality for the DMS should only be for the DMS. Because the DMS will have basic and advanced search functionality that should only search the DMS repository, do you suggest creating a separate Page Group for the DMS or one overarching one for the overall Portal and the DMS piece will have subpages? I'm not sure if development will be more complicated or simplistic with a individual DMS Page Group.

    Hi,
There seems to issues in the profiles which being created in UCM.
Can you check the Trigger Field which has been configured for the profiles ? If the trigger field has been configured as Type, can you change it to any of the other custom defined Information fields and then create the application.
To access the Trigger Fields navigate to the WCC web console, Administration --> Admin Applets --> Config Manager --> Profiles --> Trigger Field.

  • How to create custom template for webcenter portal application

    Hi,
I created webcenter portal application in my jdev using the webcenter portal application template provided by the webcenter framework.
I tried to create custom template for my application by following steps:
    1. Created new application using webcenter portal application template with all default package structure.
    2. Right click pagetemplates folder under webcontent package and select new option.
    3. New gallery opens up.
    4. Selected JSF under webtier and JSF Page Template under items in the right hand side and clicked Ok button.
    5. New wizard opens up for creating new JSF page template.
    6. Gave template name(file name) and Page Template Name(template def name).
    7. Selected checkbox staing start a Quick Start Layout and selected three column layout and selected Ok.
    8. Selected checkbox for Create Associated ADFm Page Defination(so that page templates can be changes at run time).
    9. Created some Facet Definations (header, footer, content1, content2, LHN, RHN).
    10. Clicked Ok button which will create custom template.
    11. Added some Panel Group Layout component from Component Palette.
    12. Created new page (.jspx) with this template.
Now when I try to add producer portlets created using Producer Portlet application template and connected to the above application using WSRP2.0, I'm facing problem.
The prolem is that I'm not able to add more than one portlet in one single page?
Kindly let me know whether the steps followed by me is wrong some where and needs to corrected and let me know how I can add more than one portlet to page?
Basically I cant see more than one placeholders in my page to add portlets.

    Thanks Yannick.
In the step 9 I had mentioned that I created various facet definations (header, footer, content, content1 RHN and LHN).
Is this is not facet you are talking about or should I drop facet ref from the resource palette?
Can't I add moer than one portlet to my page at design time itself?
Annoying since in weblogic portal we do this at design time(.portal).
