Creating slates in between videos on one timeline???

Hi all,
I cannot figure this out, I have one timeline with about 10 videos on that one timeline.  Now I want to put an image in between each video so people will know the title and section, which i can get the image on the timeline and i put the chapter marker at the beginning of the image (title slide) and all works well except the video plays for about 2 seconds then j umps back to the beginning and then plays the entire video.  Could someone please help me resolve this issue?
Thanks

Along with Jon's suggestion, I'd also Import from PrPro, so that each Sequence is an individual Timeline, one for each Sequence w/ the added still image and Title. You can use Playlists to do things like Play All, and then link to individual Timelines. That will simplify your navigation, and you do not have to stack your Sequences onto one Timeline. Errors can happen with things like one bit of Audio being just a bit short, or a bit long - I'm talking about Audio Units here. Staked Assets have caused many problems.
Good luck,
Hunt

  • I can't seem to drag and drop more than one video on my timeline ? Only the audio will appear ?

Hello, I've been working on Premiere for a year now
I installed 2014 a week ago, and until today I haven't had any problems.
When I drag and drop the first video, everything works fine, until I try to drop another video.
The second video won't appear on the timeline, except for it's audio
Which is weird to me because everything worked well on the CS6
    My sequence settings are
    Custom
    30 frames/second
    16/9
    sample rate : 44100Hz
    quickTime
    +H.264
    The first video's properties:
    Type: MPEG Movie
    File Size: 576,0 MB
    Image Size: 1920 x 1080
    Frame Rate: 30,00
Source Audio Format: 44100 Hz - compressed - Mono
Project Audio Format: 44100 Hz - 32 bit floating point - Mono
    Total Duration: 00:04:41:28
    Pixel Aspect Ratio: 1,0
    The second video's properties:
    Type: MPEG Movie
    File Size: 583,1 MB
    Image Size: 1920 x 1080
    Frame Rate: 29,97
Source Audio Format: 48000 Hz - compressed - Stereo
Project Audio Format: 48000 Hz - 32 bit floating point - Stereo
    Total Duration: 00:04:45:15
    Pixel Aspect Ratio: 1,0
    (it's a .MTS)
What is weird, too, is that when I added the first video, I couldn't add it "Again", the same thing happened
Any help? I need to finish the project by tonight :/

My QuickTime version is the 10.4 (no idea if it's the latest one)
What do you mean by my system properties ? My mac ? If so then its a 16Gb 1600MHz DDR3 + Nvidia Geforce GT 750M 1024MB, an OS X Yosemite version 10.10
"What happens when you import the files onto a non-quicktime sequence?", well I don't know how to create a sequence before dragging a file on the timeline on this premiere, so I dragged the "Second video" first and it created a sequence with AVC Intra 100 1080i
    29,97 frames/second
    preview file format AVC-intra class100 1080i
what's weird is that I could add the second video once, but not twice, and I can add the "first" video several times (it's weird because the sequence was created from the second video's properties)
To answer your last question, the same thing happens too. I can create another sequence with the "Second video", add the "First video" 10 times but I won't be able to add the second video a second time.
On the other hand, when i created another sequence with the "first video", I will be able to add the first video as much as I want, but I won't even be able to add the "second" video once.

  • Change of Video Frame One Sample Out of Sync with Correct Point on Timeline

Change of Video Frame One Sample Out of Sync with Correct Point on Timeline.
It has been found on the author's PC that, in Audition 3 in Multitrack View, a video file displayed in the video window will change its frame one sample later than it should do with respect to the correct point on the timeline. This has led to extra work having to be done by the author, as detailed later.
    To demonstrate this issue:
Create a new multitrack session. Enable the Time and Video windows. Enable only 'Snap to Frames'.
Using an external program, render a two-frame video clip at 25fps. Let the first frame contain the letter 'A', and the second frame contain the letter 'B'. Making sure that the Display Time Format is set appropriately, in this case at 'SMPTE 25 fps (EBU)', lock this clip on the multitrack timeline, ensuring that the clip starts at time 00:00:00:00.
Create a mono audio clip of silence at 48kHz 32-bit that is two frames long. Lock it on an audio track, ensuring that the clip starts at time 00:00:00:00.
Place the cursor at time 00:00:00:01 and create a cue marker at this point by pressing F8.
Zoom into the timeline so that approximately twenty samples are visible, with the cursor lying on the cue marker in the middle of the screen. The Time window should display 00:00:00:01. The Video window should display the letter 'A'.
Move the cursor back in time (leftwards) by one sample. The Time window should change its display to 00:00:00:00, whilst the Video window should still show the letter 'A'.
Move the cursor forwards in time (rightwards) by one sample, so that it overlays the cue marker again. The Time window should change its display back to 00:00:00:01, whilst the Video window remains showing the letter 'A'.
Move the cursor forwards in time (rightwards) by one more sample. The Time window's display should remain at 00:00:00:01, but the Video window should now display the letter 'B'.
As can be seen from the above steps, the video's change of frame content occurs incorrectly one sample later than it should; the change of video frame content should occur simultaneously with the change of the frame number displayed in the Time window, which is at the point that the cue marker has been placed.
The practical effect of this issue is that it has caused the author a huge amount of extra work on an 89-minute long soundtrack-for-video timeline. There were over 1100 changes of shot which the author wished to mark by placing cue markers at the beginning of every shot. This should have been a quite simple process of enabling 'Snap to Frames', stepping through the video, and laying cue markers down by pressing F8 when the shot was seen to change.
Because currently the Video window (referencing the cursor laying over a cue marker
i that has been placed on the timeline using the 'Snap to Frames' option
) will actually display the end moments of the previous frame rather than the beginning moments of the current frame, laying down a cue marker when the shot is seen to change will actually place that marker at the beginning moments of the second frame of the new shot, not at the beginning moments of the first frame of the new shot, i.e. the cue marker placed will be one frame later in time than it should be. If it is wished for the cue marker to, as best it can, represent the beginning moments of the first frame of the new shot, it has to be manually repositioned so that it is at least a sample later in time than the time at which the shot has actually changed, in order for the Video window to correctly display the content.
The author had to manually reposition all 1100+ cue markers.
Ideally, the Video window should display a change of video frame in synchronization with the change of the frame display in the Time window, which occurs at the position of the 'Snap to Frames' point.

  • Can't choose between Video Timeline & Frame Animation?

  • Creating a relationship between one table and the PK in another

Sorry the subject of this message is a bit vague. I'm not sure how to describe this problem in one sentence.
So here's the issue: I've just created a new block on my form based on table2. Table2 contains t1_id which is the FK link to Table1.
What I want is when one of the fields in Table2's block is changed and inserted, the t1_id is inserted in the applicable row. Essentially, I need :table2.t1_id to have the 'Copy From Item' property set at :table1.id
I cannot seem to see where in designer this option is. I asked a friend and he said what I need to do is 'create a relationship between the two values in designer'. Huh? In the Table Definitions the FK is set for the two, so I'm not sure how to do this.
Another problem, which I'm believing will be solved when this is, is that when the form loads, this new block, table2, is not automatically populated with the applicable values from the table.
Thanks for any help. It's greatly appreciated!

Do you mean that you want to create a Master-Detail Form using Designer?
If yes, you need to define the entity usage from the Function Hierarchy Diagrammer, then attribute usage definition. Generate the module using Application Design Transformer. You need to define the Context so that master table's PK will be carried over to the detail table.

  • How do you add multiple videos to one single timeline in encore cs6

please need assistance, i have 10 separate video files that i am trying to burn onto as few of dvd dl's as possible

I would either put each video on its own timeline or use Premiere to edit them together. Often adding more than one video to a timeline in Encore does not work.

Sir Churchill, I tried deleting one of the playlists from my computer (Playlist 130).  The next day I checked my wife's computer and noticed that Playlist 130 was now missing from her computer as well.  Is there a way that I can delete a playlist from my computer without it disappearing from hers as well?

  • Multiple clips in one timeline - Frame freezes between each clips!!!

Yeah, I've read a couple of topics and didn't found any real info about my problems...
All my clips are encoded in mpeg2DVD... I've created one timeline and put all of these in order... When I'm watching the preview, everything is fine... BUT after I burned the DVD... on players, it freezes every time the clips changes... just for a second... but it's really annoying...
It's like all the time a clip changes on my timeline, it senses it... and freeze a little bit...
    I've erased all the chapters...
    Tried the play lists...
Wonder if there's anything else I can do to?

You're not going to get around this using MPEG-2 files.
What the function is actually doing (under the hood) is creating VM commands that go from one movie to the next movie. This is why the pause - the player is "reading" the commands at the end of the clip, as it needs to know where to go next. It's effectively a POST command linking the end action of one timeline to the next.
You can always try using AVI files, and allowing Encore to transcode the timelines to MPEG-2 - this might get around the problem.

  • Toggling between video clips (not audio clips) in the timeline

    Hi,
I was wondering if there is a solution to this small inconvenience I am experiencing in FCP 5. When I have snapping enabled, and press the down arrow key, the playhead jumps to the next audio or video clip in the timeline. I am trying to find out if there is a way to jump between video clips only.
    Thank you

    Thanks,
Do you know if there is a way to make the up/down arrows snap to only the video cuts on the video clips in the highest video tracks in the timeline? Thanks.

  • What to use to create a picture and video slideshow/presentation?

I was curious as to what someone would use in order to create a picture and video presentation/slideshow?
I think that iPhoto does a good job with getting all your pictures in order, and then using the templates and choosing your music to create a slideshow. However, if one wanted to include some video and narration into the slideshow, I imagine that they would need to use iMovie as well.
I know that you can drop images into iMovie as well, and I think they are automatically given Ken Burns effect, but if you have a lot of images, I think it gets pretty tedious working with all those photos, when iPhoto will already do all of that for you.
So, long story short. I would like to make a presentation with video and images. I would like to use multiple songs, and possible trim the amount of each particular song down, so there is some sort of mix/flow from one song to the other. I would also like to be able to record a narration and include it in the slideshow. I know that iMovie does a lot of that...I saw the narration feature, and the ability to trim the songs back some, and include more than one song. It also has the ability to choose only the portion of video that I want. So would you pre-create the photo portion of your slideshow in iPhoto, convert it to a movie, and dump it into iMovie? That seems clunky.
What process would you use? In my mind, I picture using a program that had some sort of timeline in order to be able to fine tune the audio and video, and iMovie has a timeline of sorts.
    Currently running iLife '09.

    Ian
I've been working for the last three weeks on a project like the one you describe. It turns out to be far beyond my limited competence, but I'm committed and have to trudge on.
Mine may be a little different from yours in that it has the equivalent of 106 "slides." There are twenty video. The "stills" are either text I've made in Word and saved to iPhoto as a pdf doc or photos. I've engaged actors to read the text that goes with most of still-slides. I thought I could create individual slides with the sound 'attached,' string them together and then make a movie out of the Power Point or Keynote slide show.
    Nothing has worked so far.
iMovie has been a special heartbreaker. I've had at least a half-dozen chats with Apple Care and a couple of trips to an Apple Store to solve one challenge after another.
I can help with  Ken Burns. Tedious is not a strong enough word, and the 'help' menu is not helpful, because it is Wrong., The controls are NOT the least bit intuitive. In fact, they make no sense - at least to me.
[I gave up on iMovie the first time because of Ken and the absence of intelligible instructions to make him leave.]
    (1) Not finding the control. "Help" says to click on the crop icon on the tool bar (between mic and i) or to type "C". All I get is the crop function - Ken is nowhere to be seen.
    (2) Finding it. The crop icon that should have been designated is accessible when you select a still photo. The hand icon appears; on the left side there is column of three icons. On top is Crop; the middle is the duration for the still - the default default is "4 s" // the bottom icon is the gear. Click the gear; there are four rows of choices; click the one at the bottom  "cropping, Ken Burns & Rotation". At the top left corner there are three boxes "fit | crop | Ken Burns"// select "Fit" and Ken Burns is turned off. Why is "fit" is the opposite of "Ken Burns"? I don't know.
Here's a warning and a sad tale. I spent about three days getting the first 64 still/videos/transitions and audio clips assembled the way I wanted them. The audio for 65 went in okay and it looked okay, but nothing would make it play. 66 was okay but not 67 or any subsequent attempt - although the videos after 67 were okay.
During my final Apple Care conversation the diagnosis was: "corruption." Start over again with a new project!
I could select, copy and paste the visuals in those three moves, but the audios had to go over one at a time. Since you can't have two projects going at the same time, I'd have to copy one audio clip from the old project, select the new project and wait for it to come up, make the paste, and then wait for the old project to come up.
So watch out. I gave up on iMovie because the recreation of a new project would be so agonizing and with such a big project, I don't know how to avoid "corruption" for sure, and neither did the guy at Applecare.  I switched to iPhoto, but after a day I realize that it's audio capability requires a process as tedious as trying to redo the iMovie.
Final Cut Pro is probably the right program but that's a whole other thing.

  • Creating mouseover that triggers video

I'm VERY NEW to Flash, and don't know much about it. What I
want to do is probably pretty easy, but I have been unable to
figure it out. What I want to do is have a series of graphics on
the right side, which represent certain organizations. Then, when
the mouse floats over one of these organizations, it will trigger a
photo on the right side, which will fade in, and stay in as long as
the mouse is over the graphic, then when the mouse leaves the
graphic, the picture will fade out. If they place their mouse over
a different graphic, a different picture will fade in in the same
location as the other, etc. Is there a tutorial around that might
show me how to do this that someone can point me towards (or
    directions, or something)?
    Thanks,
    Jesse

    Hello Haridoss,
Would you mind expanding on the instructions you gave for creating a button to play an embedded video on a Captivate 7 slide?
It sounds straight-forward enough but my Properties panel isn't showing an option for setting the video to autoplay (see printscreen image).
Also, when you say to insert an 'event video', is this the same as inserting a regular video via the interactions panel (2nd tool from bottom at left in default view)?
Finally, assuming I can find the autoplay button and that 'event video' is the same as a regular video, will I need to stagger the button and video in the timeline, as per Himanshu's printscreen above? (I can try it out if you're not sure - once I find the autoplay!)
    Cheers,
    Jacqui.

  • How to create "transition" while FLV Videos load before and during "chaining" or "looping"

    The Status:
OK, I now have Action Script 3 that will work for chaining FLV videos... or Looping an FLV video.
But when one video ends there is a short pause before the next one loads and starts... the progress bar for the Flash Player displays diagional green lines... and it is simply not a smooth transistion.
This happens when chaining or when looping.
And, even though I'm doing a progressive download... where the video starts very quickly... and plays while it downloads... there is a short delay at the start. That is not as noticable as the break between videos or when looping back to replay the same video.
    The Question:
Is there a way to create a visual transistion... say a rotating object... or something to keep the motion/action going during that short interval?
I've seen something like this before... like two (broken line) circles rotating in opposit directions... or something.
It show the "busy" status or whatever I guess.
    Thanks for any help.

That depends on how you're loading your videos. Assuming you're using a loader object, you would add/show and remove/hide this
animation while you're waiting for the load of the video to complete. If you're loading the file(s) directly into a FLVPlayback object then you'll want to do this:
    import lash.events.VideoEvent;
    FLVPlaybackObject.addEventListener(VideoEvent.bufferingStateEntered, showBufferState);
    FLVPlaybackObject.addEventListener(VideoEvent.playingStateEntered, clearBufferAnimation);
    function showBufferState(e:VideoEvent):void
         //Do your busy animation here
    function clearBufferAnimation(e:VideoEvent):void
         //Hide/stop your busy animation here
However, I may be all wrong about your methods. Let me know if this works or if you need anymore help. Thanks,

  • Problem to create a time-lapse video

    Hello all,
I'm encountering a problem with my CS5.1 , let me explain . I want to create a time-lapse video from many pictures i've taken,  But when i go to File------Automate------Batch , then I'm supposed to find in Actions something called "Time-Lapse processing " or something like this, but it's not there !!
Can you help me in how i can get this work, please ? much appreciated.

    Welcome to the forum.
It appears that you are looking to process your Still Images in Photoshop, with an Action, and then via Automate to Batch. Is that correct?
Premiere Pro does not use Actions, and has no Automate>Batch.
However, if one is doing Time-Lapse Video, PrPro can do that nicely.
First, will you have any Video, or only Still Images?
If ONLY Still Images, then you must address your intended delivery, say DVD-Video, or BD, or streaming media. That will determine your Project/Sequence Preset.
Let's say that you intend to create a BD (Blu-ray Disc), in full-HD, then you can choose a 1920 x 1080 Project, at a FPS for where you are, such as NTSC = 29.97 FPS.
After you have perhaps Scaled your Still Images in Photoshop, and named them in sequence, such as ____00001 through ____0000x, all in one folder, you can then Import that Numbered Still Sequence into PrPro, and even add a Transition, if needed.
For most true Time-Lapse, one would choose a Duration of 1 Frame, but for a bit of a Stop-Motion "look," then 3 - 5 Frame Duration might be better. You can always experiment with a few of your Images, to see what suits your tastes and desires. For most of what I do, the Stop-Motion look is my choice, and I will usually choose a Duration of 3 Frames, with a tiny Cross-Dissolve between those Frames. This is your artistic choice. There is no right, or wrong choice.
Hope that helps, and for the Photoshop aspect, you might want to post the question here: http://forums.adobe.com/community/photoshop/general
    Good luck,
    Hunt
