Creating sub groups in iFS...

Please, let me in this...
(1) Does iFS support the creation of sub groups underneath one group?
For example,I am using the iFS Manager, and I want to create groups for that represent companies...Group A, B & C...
Can I also create sub groups, Sales, Marketing and Human Resources for all three groups? and eventually create users for each of these groups?

You can definitely create subgroups under the groups you create. Copy and paste the groups into the Group page as you would individual users.
I played with your scenario a little, and there doesn't seem to be a problem in creating subgroups with the same names.
However, when I select a group from the global list, it displays the same user names in any of the matching list names, regardless of their parent group (they still display properly when I open them underneath the parent group).
Even if this did work, in practical terms, you'd end up with a global list of several groups with names that are indistinguishable (Sales, Sales, Sales, Human Resources, Human Resources, Human Resources, etc.).
What I'd recommend is that you create the subgroup names with an abbreviation of the company name.
For example, you could have the ABC company group, then ABC_Sales, ABC_Human Resources, etc. This way you can tell them apart when looking at the global list, there won't be any potential for confusion, and they'll cluster together naturally.

Hello All,
I have been presented with a situation where I am required to log data that is arranged in a multi-level hierarchy. My preferred method for data logging is the TDMS format, but it is unclear if I can log more than 2 levels of hierarchy with this option. In the terminology of TDMS file, I would need to create "sub-groups" or "sub-channels" so that all of the data can still be arranged within the same parent group. Is this type of data arrangement possible with a TDMS file?

My understanding is that TDMS files are set at 3 levels of hierarchy: File, Group, Channel. You could probably name the groups to show a parent group such as "Parent:Group".

Asset Class under Sub Group of assets

Dear All,
In my Client place they are have list of assets. I clasify in Asset classes like
Plant & machinery, Buildings, Land -Asset Classes
In Buildings they have Differenct Factory Building and Office Building which is situated in Factory itself.
These Two buildings having differenct % of Depreciation.
But in one Asset Class- Building They want Create Sub Group of Assets with different depreciation .
It is Possible or Not. If it is possible How can we Create the Sub group of assets Under once Class of Assets. with different Depreciation Value.
Pl Clarify my doubt, if any manual is there porivde for my configeration.

hi,
it is possible to run depreciation for main assets and sub assets with deprecition key.
what you need to do is goto the following path
spro - > financial accounting (new) - > asset accounting - > master data -> screen layout - >
now inside screen layout you have options like" define screen layout for asset depreciation areas"
once inside the main screen of it select the scrn layout 2000 and double click on field group rules which you can find on the left side of your screen
here you will be displayed with various options for flagging what is (req) (opt) ( blah blah )
look at depreciation keys against it you shall find flags like ( class ) (MnNo.) ( sbno.) (copy)
in this remove the flag from copy and from MnNo. and flag the Subno.
this way it will not copy the depn key from the main asset and instead it will ask you provide a depreciation key while creating a subasset
and also remove the check assigned to (class) against depreciation area in screen layout 2000

Unable to create sub site after setting up site subscription in Sharepoint Foundation 2013

Hi, All,
I have set up sit subscription in to the sharepoint. I have a Site collection which is assign to specific tenant group. I have assign sevral custom features to the tenant group. What happening now is, when I am creating a sub site, it throws an error that
specific feature(e.g CustomList feature) is not available. So I added that feature definition to tenant group. Again I tried to create sub site. Now it shows error that specific feature(this time it shows AnnouncementList feature) is not available. So I added
that feature too. Now its showing me these kinds of error continuously.
So what required is I need to add all the default features to my tenant group. Do you have idea how can I add those feature by single command instead of I add it to the tenant group one by one ?

You can use Powershell to create a Feature Pack that will add multiple features to a tenant group. Here's one for the default Foundation Features.

HT201320 Does my email service provider have to provide the ability for me to create an IMAP email account in order for me to create Sub-folders within Apple Mail?

Hi, Apple Mail provides a function to create sub-folders within my mailbox so that I can group emails of similar subjects or from the same sender. My service provider only provides POP email protocol and the New Folder button does not appear in my Apple Mail account for that service provider. Icloud provides the opportunity for the iPad user to select between POP and IMAP. I can select IMAP and the New Folder button appears allowing me to create sub-folders within the icloud email account. Does this mean I cannot create sub-folders in my email account unless my service provider provides customers with the option of creating an IMAP email account?
This appears to be a problem for quite a few Apple Mail users, but service providers appear reticent to provide a response other than 'use Microsoft Exchange / Hotmail, Google GMail, or some other third party email service provider'. This is why I have chosen icloud as my email service provider. It is Apple and therefore Apple supports it. I have been a Telstra customer for over 15 years and they informed me today, strongly, that they support their own products and services, not Apple products, even though Telstra sell them. When I asked the Telstra Customer Support Manager whether they support Telstra customers, I was informed 'no, because the Telstra customer is not a Telstra product or service'. I have since cancelled my Telstra email account and am in the process of cancelling all of my Telstra services.

Yes. That is what it means. You need an IMAP account in order to create sub folders on the iPad.

You can create the employee groups depending up on your clients requirement, Eg: Permanent, Temporary, Seasonal, Trainee, Advisor etc
And define the employee subgroups and assign them to the employee groups Like
Enterprise structure>Definition>Human Resource Management-->Employee Groups & Employee Groups
Enterprise structure>Assignment>Human Resource Management-->Assign employee subgroup to employee group
you can create employee subgroups depending up on your requirement like asst manager, manager, GM, MD, VP ETC an assign them to the employee subgroups ok.
Ensure that certain empployee subgroups may not be assigned to employee group based on requiremen, but create all the employee sub groups which is existing in the organization.

How to Sum the datafield of a sub-group?

Hello guys,
I am having this issue that I want to only Sum the datafield at sub-group level, not the detail level. But when I do the sum, it is adding all the details. The reason I am having this is because I have somewhat duplicated details (they complement each other). I merge them using group (by Item). The Item QTY is the feild that they all have and they have the same value, but I only need one of them. Now I want to group them by order number and show the total of items I ordered. I Sum all the items' QTY, but instead of sum the QTY that's merged, it sums all the QTY from detail. Basically I am suming duplicate numbers.
Is there any solution to this? Thank you.

Thank you for the help. I treid the Average running total, but the problem is that I cannot do Summary on those new fields on the parent group. Also I can't get rid of the dupliate because the singel record does not contain enough info, I need all the records to merge togather to collect all the required inforamtion. Before I will just created a merged view on my DB to get rid of duplicate records. But this time, I am linking too much tables (includes external server DB table) that I can't make a view for that.
Basically I have an order that splits into multiple invoices that get shipped using an external server where the Actual Ship Date does not write back to our own ordering system. I am trying to see if all my items are ship on time. So I need to merge all the items QTY from invoices that linked with external shipping DB, and group them in one order.
The main problem I have is that I can't do summary on many custome fields. I can made the correct amount using Formula Field that has a shared flag to not include duplicate numbers. But once I use the shared flag, the forumla is no longer useable by Summary.
Anyway, I think I will just use Excel instead. I already have all the proper data, just that when I do group summary in Crystal, it becomes a problem. I will export the data and do analysis from there.

SUB-Group consol. in different currency i.e. other than group currency

HI Friends,
Consolidation Group currency is "USD". In the consolidation hierarchy, i have one sub group where all the companies are in AUD.
Now the requirement is that australian sub group requires sub consolidation in AUD.
Currently we are doing sun consolidation and the results are as expected, but they are in group currenmcy "USD".
Is there any option to get the sub groupconsolidation report in AUD i.e. different than group currency.

Hi ,
Yes it is possible.
Direct in UCMON and change your group currency, but you must do again full proces consoidation in this group currenct, or in your query (query designer) you create a new report and use transaltion currency direct in report.

Sub Group Question?

I have a mixing challenge and I'm not sure if what I want to achieve here is called a sub group or bus or what so maybe you guys can tell me:
I want 18 of my 20 tracks to fade down and verb to fade up before a chorus while the other 2 tracks remain as is. Do I create a new fader and send the 18 tracks to that fader and then automate the volume and verb on that channel to do what i want?

Yes, routing those 18 tracks to a Bus/Aux would probably the easiest solution for your quest. So choose e.g. Bus 1 in the ouput section of those tracks (select them all in the mixer while holding down shift - then set any output to Bus 1 - all others will follow), Bus 1 will automactically get assigned to your next free Aux track, send that Aux track pre fader to another Bus/Aux with the reverb inserted, then automate the fade out of the volume fader and the fade in of the reverb send.

SAME Work Schedule for Both EE Sub Groups

We have 2 EE Sub groups which have the same work schedule - Flexible Working hours - 8 hrs/ day - 5 days a week. One of the EE subgroups will get paid Hourly at 80 hrs a week and the other will be paid salaried for 80 hrs a week.
Can anyone please help me configure this with a step by step explanation ? I have already configured a holiday calendar.

1. Create break Schedules which would be ur break timings and Paid or unpaid.
2.create Daily workschedule which would be ur daily work hours by giving start time and end time and assign break schedules to that.
2.Create Period workschedule in which U have to define 7 days daily work schedule.For Example Monday to Friday ur Workscheules having working hours and Saturday and Sunday Free workschedules(if u have Sat and Sun as off days of week)
3.Then U have to configure work schedule rules and generate the workschedules.
These are the basic steps to be performed.

using FTP_COMMAND can we creater 2 or more subfolders at a time?

but if the filepath is 1/2/3/4. then iam not able to create subfolders 3 and 4. At a time only one sub folder is created.

Changing or Deleting Standard Employee Sub Groups

Dear All,
I am creating a new Personnel Structure. The abbreviations that I want to use for my personnel Sub Groups are already used in the standard. Now all I want to ask is that should I delete the standard Employee Sub Groups and make my own with the abbreviations that I want or should I change the existing Employee Sub Groups and use them as my own? Some one told me once that you should never delete or change anything from the standard and now I am confused as to what I should do. If I change or delete the existing Employee Sub Groups will that have any negative effect on the system?

I think you should be able to leverage the existing employee subgroups - just make sure the way they have been currently configured for all rules and schemas for the standard system works for your scenarios as well. If not, you may need to change all those related tables and features and schemas and rules as needed.

Mapping of details grade / employee sub-group / activity type

Is there a common table that I can download the details of grade / employee sub-group / activity type.
OR
Do I need to download them from different tables, If so, what are the tables that I can link up. In such case if I am creating a query through SQVI, what is common field in these three tables.

Is there any logical database in SQVI for downloading the details for grade / employee sub-group / activity type
