Creating the second issue of an iPad magazine

So the first issue is approved by Apple and ready to go on iTunes...
When I come to the second issue, I am a little unsure of the Viewer Builder process - can anyone help?
If my first issue is loaded up as:
Viewer name: Design Monthly
Viewer type: Multi-issue
Title (Library view): Design Monthly Magazine
How do I specify the second issue?
I assume it is:
Viewer name: Design Monthly
Viewer type: Built-in Single Issue
Is this correct?
Also, how does enabling the app for Newstand change things (if at all)? Is that specified in the first issue as 'Multi-issue with iTunes subscription'?

A little bit of extra information:
If you have created a multi-folio app, until now with only free folio's, you should do the following:
Create a IAP (in application purchase) in itunes connect . (Add screenshots of a couple of you magazine pages to the IAP)
Create a folio that has the content and publish it is 'Public/Retail'. Make sure the productId matches the productID in your IAP
Create a new Viewer binary (the marketing version number will increase) - the configuration of the viewer is _exactly_ the same as your current viewer
Test the viewer on your iPad - including the purchasing proces with an iTunesConnect Test User
Upload the viewer to iTunes Connect.
Submit the viewer for Approval TOGETHER with your first In Application Purchase.
(Apple requires you to submit a 'new' binary once you start to use IAPs). At the moment to use Newsstand in combination with DPS, you can only use paid subscriptions, which als requires you to set up at least on paid issue and the corresponding subscription IAPs
if you have not yet submitted a viewer to iTunes Connect and want to do retail (IAP) content, you should do the following:
Create a folio with content that represents your magazine. Publish the folio as 'Public/Free'
Create an IAP (Add screenshots of a couple of your magazine pages to the IAP)
Create a folio that has the content and publish it is 'Public/Retail'. Make sure the productId matches the productID in your IAP
Test the viewer on your iPad - including the purchasing proces with an iTunesConnect Test User
Upload the viewer to iTunes Connect
Submit the viewer for Approval TOGETHER with your first In Application Purchase.
(Non official information) Apple will closely look at the content of your Free folio to approve the app. They will use the screenshots to approve the IAP.
If you are planning to publish frequently (once a week, once a day) and IAP approval time is critical, then work with your local Apple representative. Publishers have been able to get IAPs preapproved for a longer time period
More information on testing can be found in the 'iPad publishing companion guide' in the Digital Publishing Portal and in the iTunes Connect Developer Guide (downloadable from iTunes Connect)

  • Create the second transport for a project

When creating a project, we clicked "YES" to create a transport linked to this project.
However, once we have to release this transport, we want to create another transport
linked to the same project. If we create this transport from SE10, SE01, etc. perhaps
the said project will NOT be aware of this new transport.
Should we create the second transport from SOLMAN_PROJECT_ADMIN ?
And if so, how to do it?
    Thanks a lot!

    hi
if you want to transport solution manager project created in solar_project_admin then you can use the transport request created for the same via the sap menu as i have mentioned from
solman dev to solman prd etc
but if you want to transport the TR which are created for a CHARM project in solman then in that case you can schedule it with the task manager after changing the phase you can check the process flow etc here

  • Create the second copy, delete and the first copy serial (Archive Deletion)

    Hi Experts,
I am new to DB2 and i want to enable "-cds" Option (Create the second copy, delete and the first copy serial) while performing online backups. Though this option is available in "Oracle" and we can schedule the same in DB13 itself.
If you can please guide to enable this feature in DB2 via DB13 ?
    Regards,
    JAI

    Hello JAI,
which tool you´re using to create the online backups?
The command to prune could be as followed:
    db2 prune history  and delete
It will be helpful if you monitor your db2diag.log during this to see whats happened.

To the best of my knowledge you have now unfortunately blocked yourself: you can't cancel an iCloud account and as you've got the address there you can't add it as an alias, and I don't know of any workaround for that.

  • Acrobat 8 Professional can't find the scanning device when creating the second page of the PDF file

Hey guys, this is my first post here, so please excuse me if there is anything I need to know.
I am a Mac User and I have the whole CS3 suit installed.
Everything works just great except there is this little thing bugs me around.
When I try to use Acrobat Professional 8.0 to create a PDF file through my scanner, (samsung SCX-4725FN, it's scan/print/fax combined) I wouldn't be able to continue to scan to the second page. To be more specific, I have no problem to scan and create the first page of the PDF file, when it asks me if I want to scan and create another page, when I confirmed it, I wouldn't be able to see the scanner in the "Acrobat Scan" window. The "scan" botton stay faded, therefore I can't continue. If I click "cancel" and try to create another PDF file from the scanner, the smae problem will show up again. The only way that I can continue to scan is to quit the program from the menu bar and restart it, then I can start to create the next '1st page only' PDF file from the scanner. I had to do this rapidly to get all the pages scanned first, and then combine them to get my work done. This is a pain in the butt. I have downloaded the most updated scanner driver, and patched Acrobat to version 8.1.2 , but the problem still exist. I have tested the scanner with PS CS3, the scanner works just fine. So I assume there is a glitch here with the software. Can anyone help me please?

I am not very clear at which step you are facing issue. Below is the sequence in order to scan more pages from Acrobat:
    1. Launch Acrobat. Click menu File->Create PDF->From Scanner....
    2. "Acrobat Scan" dialog will appear. Select your scanner installed in Scanner dropdown. Check 'Prompt for scanning more pages' checkbox as you want to scan more than one page. Click Scan button in "Acrobat Scan" dialog.
    3. Now scanner UI will appear. Make setting like color mode/resolution and click Scan button(or may be Accept button) in this dialog. (This is scanner specific ui)
    4. After this scanning will happen and "Acrobat Scan" dialog will appear with "Scan is Complete" and "Scan more pages" option.
    5. Select "Scan more pages" option and click OK in this dialog to scan more pages.
    6. Now again scanner UI will appear as in step 3 above. Make your settings and proceed.
Do you see scanner UI or "Acrobat Scan" dialog in step6? Are you not able to click Scan(or Accept) button in scanner UI?

  • Product ID for second issue of multi viewer app

    hi,
I've in this forum already found very usefull info about publishing the second issue of a free multi viewer app but still can't figure out if we have to use the same Product ID  for each issue, or do we need to create a different Product ID for each issue ?
I've put two examples below, suppose one of them has to right. Or not ??
Is this the way to handle multiple issues (option 1):
    product ID issue 1 = Product ID issue 2 = com.magnusmedia.magname
Or is this the right way (option 2):
    product ID issue 1 = com.magnusmedia.magname.01
    product ID issue 2 = com.magnusmedia.magname.02
    thanx in adavance
    Herman
Allright, was in a hurry and tested it out myself.
Option 2 is working for me, hope it's right to handle it that way.
With option 1 the app crashes (dark gray screen, no folio opens, library- en scrolling buttons are available but)

Short answer: Yes, use a different Product ID for each folio (or for each set of folio renditions).
Longer answer: It's confusing that there are three different types of Apple Product IDs:
    (1) the app Product ID, which you can ignore
    (2) subscription duration Product IDs for a paid app or a single Product ID for a free subscription app
    (3) a Product ID for each retail folio
When you're setting up a free subscription app, you don't need to use iTunes to create a Product ID for individual folios, because your folios are free. You just need to set up a free subscription Product ID in iTunes Connect and specify that Product ID in the DPS App Builder. On the Adobe side, you use a different Product ID for different folios you publish, such as com.publisher.publication.2012October and com.publisher.publication.2012November.  If you're creating renditions, you use the same Product ID for the different renditions and different Product IDs for different sets of renditions.

  • Why is the unlock-screen of my iPad mini showing black or blue lines?

3 days ago, i bought an iPad mini at the apple store. Everything is working perfectly, but ever since I first started it, I'm noticing some black or blue lines at the bottom of the screeen on the unlock screen. They disappear after one second.
I already updated to the latest version, and I did a hard-reset, but this didn't help.
Does anyone know how to solve this?

HI i have the same issue with my ipad mini retina. it appeared too out of nowhere after  more than a month of using it.  my device wasn't dropped or exposed to any liquid substance. At first only a single line appeared and then it grew to this. How did you fix yours? did you return it?

  • Wi-Fi connection issues with my iPad & iPhone

I have a Linksys N750 Wi-Fi EA3500 router and up until a month ago, I never had any issues picking up a wi-fi signal through out my entire home. When I'm in my bedroom which is on opposite side of the house from where my router is,my wi-fi signal is strong on iPhone, however I can't search the internet, stream movies on Netflix or listen to Pandora. I'm also having the same issue with my iPad 2 and never had this issues a month ago. When I take my windows based laptop in my bedroom, I have no issues and the upload / download speed is fast. Please advise.

Restart your WiFi router by removing power to it for 30 seconds.

  • How do you publish a second issue in a multi folio DPS app?

For a free folio is it really as easy as the following?
1.) Go to DigitalPublishing.acrobat.com and click on folio Producer
2.) Click on the Folio and click the Publish Button
3.) Select the options as "Public" & "Free"
4.) Enter The Product ID and Hit Publish
Do you sign in with the new PRODUCT ID that you've created for the second issue?
How far in advance can you schedule the publishing of an app?
Is there no waiting period after submitting the app to APPLE?

Yes, it's that simple for free apps. Just publish it as public and free—and use a DIFFERENT product ID such as com.company.app.issue—and it will be available.

  • How do I create a second instance of oc4j in a standalone enviroment

I am using OC4J standalone to deploy a sparql endpoint using jena, joseki, and the oracle jena adaptor. OC4J is running on the same server as my DEV and QAR databases. The current instance of OC4J is using a data source called "OracleSemDS" to connect to my DEV database. We are now ready to migrate the endpoint to QAR. As I was setting up the QAR endpoint, I discovered the the jena/joseki tools are hard-coded to use the "OracleSemDS" data source. Therefore, I cannot have 2 endpoints running in the same OC4J instance where one points to DEV and the other points to QAR.
Therefore, I need to create a second instance of OC4J that specifies QAR as the "OracleSemDS" data connection. Can someone tell me how to do that?
    Thanks,
    Phil

    Thanks,
Philgday Phil -- Melli Annamalai from the Oracle Server PM team pointed me to your question. I was an OC4J Product Manager before we bought out BEA and I swapped over to WLS -- so I have some information below that hopefully is of assistance to you.
Since you are using OC4J standalone, the simplest way to get a second instance, is to just clone the existing, whole directory structure of your working OC4J instance into another directory, and configure/run it from that directory. To map the OracleSemDS to another target (QAR) you change the data-sources.xml file in the second instance. If you want to run them concurrently on the same server, you'll need to change the ports in the second instance so they have unique values: default-web-site.xml, rmi.xml, internal-settings.xml, jms.xml. These additional ports can be specified on the command line as a Java property string, albeit this is not a documented nor supported feature. See http://buttso.blogspot.com/2007/02/specifying-oc4j-standalone-ports-from.html for more information.
Now as an example, assuming you have your OC4J you want to clone in the dev directory, and now want to create a second instance of OC4J in qar, I'd do this:
    cp -rp dev/* qar
    cd qar/j2ee/home/config
    vi data-sources.xml
(edit any other files if needed to alter ports) ...
    cd ..
java -jar oc4j.jar That should work, and should create the second instance using the current configuration (ie dev) as its basis (including deployed apps). Of course, you'll need to manage them independently from here as they really are just two separate OC4J standalone instances.
Now what else you could potentially do is to create a secondary configuration file subset only which only changes the necessary files to support running the second instance. In this case, you'd make a copy of the j2ee/home/config/server.xml, j2ee/home/config/application.xml and j2ee/home/config/data-sources.xml files, renaming them to qar-server.xml, qar-application.xml and qar-data-sources.xml.
    Then do the following:
    1. In qar-server.xml file, you'd change the global-application application to point at qar-application.xml instead of application.xml:
    <global-application name="default" path="qar-application.xml" parent="system" start="true" />
    2. Change qar-application.xml so that it used the qar-data-sources.xml file:
    <data-sources path="qar-data-sources.xml" />
    3. Change qar-data-sources.xml file so it points to the qar database target.
    4. Start OC4J, telling it to use qar-server.xml instead of the default server.xml
D:\java\oc4j-10135-prod\j2ee\home>java -jar oc4j.jar -config config/qar-server.xmlI think you could run into some concurrency problems if you try and run the two instances simulataneously, but in general it should be OK I think if you run them separately.
Another solution here is look at how the application specifies/uses datasources. The hard coding of the data-source name into the applicaiton via a direct JNDI lookup works, but restricts the flexibility you as a deployer/administrator has.
If the application used the Java EE resource-ref approach to look up and use the datasource, then the actual JNDI name of the datasource the application uses it totally abstracted from the actual physical name of the datasource that is created on the container -- so you'd have DEVDS and QARDS as physical datasources configured and running on OC4J -- and what happens is that as you deploy the application, you essentially map its lookup and use of OracleSemDS (which would need to change to a java:env/ namespace) to the physical datasource you want it to use (DEVDS or QARDS for example). You can easily alter this post deployment by changing the generated orion-application.xml file to point at the alternate physical datasource. Following that, you can also create separate deployment plans which map the app to the different datasources, then feed this in with the deployment operation so that the correct mapping to either DEVDS or QARDS is done during the deployment process.
I don't know what scope you have to change the application so the above may not be possible -- you'd need to change the lookup code so that it uses the Java EE reference model and change the meta-inf/application.xml to add the corresponding resource-ref entry which declares the logical datasource name that needs to be mapped on deployment.
Another approach here may be to use an application embedded datasource, where you put a data-sources.xml file into the application archive itself (along with an orion-application.xml file which references it) whereupon at deployment time, a datasource specific to the application will be created. In this manner, you'd have say two copies of the same application to deploy (DEV, QAR) which contain different data-sources.xml file. From memory, each application will have its own JNDI namespace so their datasources can co-exist with the same names, with application level data-sources overriding server level ones. Since you'll most likely want to keep the same context-root for the web modules (which has to be unique per server) you'll generally need to run just one of the applications at a time. I'd do this like this: deploy one, stop it, deploy the other, stop it, then start only the one you need to test. In that way, you'll have one copy of the application running (either DEV or QAR) and one datasource definition running within it.
Here's some documentation links to get you going:

    Hi,
The currency in service PR/PO is fetched from service condition master,
Change the Currency in Deliv/Inv Tab, which will change the currency in service condition or manually change in the service condition master, so each time currency in PR needs not to be changed by user.

    Even that is the question.
