File receiver append - how to prevent from data losing

Hi
I am working on scenario where I am appending a file. The problem is that another system is processing that file every 15 minutes. File is copied to another place and then processed, but the original should not be touched until file is copied. How are u guys dealing with issues like this?

U can make file adapter to pic the file after some interval of time..means after speicif period of time..means schduling file adapter

The scripts above seems to work as intended with no errors and do indeed stop my five XE services. I created the second script to start them and they do indeed start and are listed as "Started" in the Services panel aferwards.
My XE installation has the 5 services set up to start automatically.
I was happy to find the script above because I did not know the starting order and using the XE shortcuts for "Stop Database" and "Start Database" just seemed to cause sqlplus to receive ORA-12514 "listener does not currently know of service..." after trying to use them to restart the database. Using the scripts above seems to leave me with a different error.
I am pretty sure I eliminated my 9i listener and it is no longer listed in my Services panel or the registry.
Restarting the laptop does start the services correctly, and now I am on to a more pressing JDBC error, so if I get a chance to use the script again, I will post my results. Thanks.

Using Acrobat X I've inserted a link to open a file. When I try open the link, however, I get the following warning:
Could you suggest me to prevent it to appear from the very beginning please?
Maybe I should sign my PDF file somehow?

How to prevent synching data to Adobe's cloud?

I have received emails from Adobe that “They are happy to tell us that our data is now synched via Adobe Cloud.“ (german original wording below.)
We never want to store any data on Adobe's cloud servers since Adobe is a company based in the USA. We have legal obligations to never ever export any data outside of our country and especially not onto any server in the USA. We did not save any data to Adobe's cloud yet and we never want to do this. Why did Adobe activate this feature on all of our multiple Adobe accounts without our consent and how can I make absolutely sure it never gets turned on?
In fact, is there a way to prevent all Adobe applications from synching any data with their cloud and also preventing users from accidentally turning off this “feature”? The overhead for systems administration created by Creative Cloud products is terrible. (Posting our actual stand regarding CC would severly violate the forum guidlines.)

Interfaces Restore - How to recover from Data Loss

Dear Friends,
Since 4:00 PM Yesterday our ERP system is started issueing short dupms it was continued till 11:00 PM. So we have decided to shut down the system.
After detailed analysis we found that the route cause of the issue is curruption of one block in database. SAP and Oracle data base experts are trying to recoved the data but it seems it is not possible,
Now the only option we have is restore the system from backup. the last back up of the system is @4:00 pm yesterday. Now the issue is we have data loss of 8 Hrs bussiness transactions. my customer is very big SAP instalation and we have very complext interface. interfacing with arount 200 systems 2000 IDoc intefaces and many more file interfaces etc... This is the first time we are facing this issue and we need to think of how we can sync the Interfaces again.
For masterdata coming from external systems we can simply ask the partner system to resend the Idocs or Files. But for transactional data we can still request them to send the Idocs or files to my SAP system but we should some how avoid sending the confirmations back to partner systems.
Could you please let me know did you faced this kind of problems and did you applied any best practices.
All kind of suggessions are wellcome!!!!.....

Im using an aiport router connected to my pc, my brother on the other hand is using a program called NetCut which disconnects me from the internet when he feels that i am lagging him. It makes the status connected but no internet connection, is there a way i can prevent this from happening?
is there a way to protect myself from this? also how can i disconnect people off my network wireless and ethernet?

you could place a frame with horizontal elasticity set to shrink around your author's field. make that field fill 90% of the page width and place the date-column beside it.
If you have small number of authors the field should shrink and take the date fied with it.
If you have a very large number of authors the list would occupy 90% of the pagewidth, spread over more than one row, the dat field would be places at the right end of the page at the top.

How to get from data entered on a form to a session attribute

I have a jsp with a form with fields that are updated by the user.
The values are in the fields value as I expected.
Example. document.frm.Name.value = "Me"
How do I populate a session variable with document.frm.Name.value?
I think I have to do a request.getParameter("Name") followed by a
session.SetAttribute. But the request.getParameter does not get populated with the latest value in document.frm.Name.value.
Any idea is welcomed. Thanks

How to switch from data guard really time apply (redo) to archive log

Standby database configured with broker and applying the redo in really time; however, I want to change this to archive log apply mode without losing the broker configuration. Is it possible? If it is not possible to use broker to do archive log apply, can I remove the broker and use data guard to set up the standby to use archive log apply?

I think mseberg is answered correct, you can use enable/disable apply log with change of state on standby database with DGMGRL, as writen mseberg.
or you can disable recover standby database with following script from SQL*Plus.

How to prevent from trying to iMessage an ex-iPhone user

Hi,
I have an AT&T line that used to be with an iPhone, and since I switched this line\number to an Android device, all my iPhone contacts having issues when trying to text me.
Their phones are always trying to iMessage me, and fail to do that, than they need to manually cancel and "send as text message" and it switch the conversation to text messages until the next time they trying to contact me.
There do you think is the issue? somewhere on my end or on their ends? and what can we do to prevent their phones from trying to iMessage me? (so it will send Text Messages automatically).
I can't ask them all to delete my contact and create it again, it will be kind of weird and rude... :\

It is on your end. You need to deactivate iMessage. Go into your support profile on Apple, log in with your Apple ID and remove that device from your support profile. How to overcome from Data block corruption error

If you have a recovery manager backup, then you can perform a block recovery operation, after the information shown on the error message where the file# and the block# are displayed you can perform the block recovery operation.
Syntax for the block recovery operation can be found here : BLOCKRECOVER
In case of an index block, it is enough to rebuild the index.
In case you have a regular backup with archivelog enabled you can restore the damaged datafile and perform a simple file recovery operation.
One more additional tip that can be used, you may be interested in using the DBMS_REPAIR package unit.
Finally, I suggest you to check the complete datafile using dbv (Database Verifier) utility to find out if there are more corrupt blocks in your datafile, and proactively run this utility as a maintenance task.

I am sure you have tried to do this before you posted your question, so just in case you are havining issues here is a quick
1) create sql condition with either
WHERE
Date_column >= :P_DATE1
AND Date_column <= :P_DATE2
OR if using Oracle you can use BETWEEN operator
WHERE
Date_column BETWEEN :P_DATE1 AND :P_DATE2
2) Make sure the Bind parameters are created and in correct order and that they are Set to DATE in the Parameter Type
When you go to get XML data you will see the calendars for selecting your two dates.

Choose your infopackage which holds the data targets, in the Infopackage screen reach the Scheduler tab and you will find the where-Used list. This will let you know the particular process chain responsible.
