I think vertical orientation is not supported.

  • Road Map Step Label Changes Issue

    Hi Gurus,
I am working for ESS business package. I have changes FPM application to read Edit as "Display" for Road map step. I have tested it and transported it to test system.
The changes were working fine till yesterday; today when i tries to test the application the road map step is reverted back to read as Edit not Display. I do not find any one changed the FPM application.
    what would be the reason.
my observations are like; I had some changes in some component and deployed it and have transported NWDI transports to Test system. i suspect this transports have changed the FPM application.
Please suggest me on this issue,.
    Points will be awarded..
    Thanks
    Srikanth

    Hi Srikanth,
    the short answer
You modified the FPM application from within the portal, using the Self-Service Administrator portal role, right? The point is that this content is also contained in the SAP_ESS SC in NWDI. It's contained in all those cfg DCs you see. They basically contain a (zip)archive that contains other (zip)archives that contain different XML files that eventually describe the FPM application. So what happened is that you modified the FPM application at runtime, but your changes were overwritten when the cfg DC was deployed afterwards.
    the details... and the questions...
Concerning those cfg DCs. They're a very specific type of DC. The type is "Enterprise Portal" and the subtype is "Portal Content". In NWDS, this is described in the following XML file: C:\Program Files\SAP\IDE\IDE70\eclipse\plugins\com.sap.ide.eclipse.component.provider_2.0.0\componentTypes.xml When I was using NWDS 7.0 SP12, this particular type of DC was not visible (if I remember it correctly), i.e. I could not create a new DC of this type. NWDS SP12 also didn't contain the necessary plugin, com.sap.portal.pcd.ide.eclipse.nwdi.ui.NewPortalContentWizard, as described in the same XML file (or at least I couldn't find it). Since I installed NWDS SP14, the plugin is present and I can create this type of DC myself. But that doesn't help me that much, since the wizard just creates some empty DC and I don't have a clue how to populate it with the content of the FPM application. Unfortunately I also don't have a clue about how to modify the existing cfg DCs in SAP_ESS.
BTW, the change you made, a small textual change, is relatively easy to do: unzip the archive(s) in the cfg DC, modify the text in one of the XML files (for some reason the translation of the roadmap steps are present 4 times, if my memory doesn't fail on me) and zip everything again. This works fine for me.
    the $1 million question...
Obviously, what I really like to know: how to modify the FPM applications on the portal using the Self-Service Administrator role (that's easy) and export it to a suitable archive that can be imported in the (SAP_ESS) cfg DCs? As long as this is not possible, meaning I don't have a clue how to do it, I'm forced to deploy the modified FPM applications, which I exported as an epa file, after each NWDI transport. And this is not very practical...
I hope my (probably a bit too complex) explanation makes any sense.
If someone else knows more about this subject or how to deal with it, please let us know. tnx!
    Kind regards,
    /Sigiswald

  • Changing Road map step name through Self Service administrator

    Hi,
My requriement was to change the name of road map step in Enrollment iview from review enrollment to just review.
for this change i went to Self-Service administrator role under which Portal Content>Content Provided by SAP> srvconfig>com.sap.pct.erp.srvconfig.ess.employee_self_service> Benefits>FPM APplications>Benefits Application  changed the name in road map and saved it. But the changes are not reflected .Can you tell me what might the reason be?
    Thanks
    Sushanth

No I dont have Guided Procedure role. I have all other roles which a normal Portal developer and administrator has.

  • Disabling the Sub Road map steps in web dynpro abap

    Hello Experts,
I am using Floor Plan Manager for Road map(FPM_GAF_COMPONENT).
I have 5 main road map steps of which the second one has 3 ( 2.1, 2.2 , 2.3 ) sub road map steps.
I have a requirement of enabling only the sub road map step in which we are presently in.
The other sub road map steps should be disabled.
Like if i am in 2.2  then 2.1 and 2.3 should be disabled.
I have solved this issue for main road map steps but unable to find a way for doing the same with Sub Road map steps.
Please help me out in this.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Shravan Varma

Substeps are not shown automatically, they are to be enabled at runtime .

  • Custom Road Map step in Annual Enrollment not clickable

Problem Describtion: In our Annual Enrollment, AE,(via ESS) we had introduced three additional road map steps. Application is working absolutely fine. But there is a small catch.
In standard Annual Enrollment (AE) application I can navigate to next step by clicking on the Road Map itself. But this is not happening for the customized road map step i.e. I can not navigate to next step by simply clicking on it.
Any ideas why this is happening?
Please let me know if more information is needed to fully understand the issue.

  • How to set the color for road map steps

    hi all,
my requirement is like ,whenever i select my step in a roadmap it has to be set in yellow color and others has to be in default color.
    thanks,
    Siva.

    Hi......
    Its Very Simple......
Create an action for the road map.
for example..... if you have three step in it....
by default the first step will be in active only...
    ie., Yellow colour
if you click the second step and it should be active means.... if you have to create a event....in the property of the Roadmap
Create the on action select event....
    in that event.....
try to use this code.... based on your scenario.....
    set context data
DATA: road_node TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_node,
              road_data TYPE if_componentcontroller=>element_roadmap.
        road_node = wd_context->get_child_node( 'ROADMAP' ).
        road_data-step = step.
        IF step = 'CHOOSE'.
          road_data-prev_enabled = abap_false.
        ELSE.
          road_data-prev_enabled = abap_true.
        ENDIF.
        IF step = 'END'.
          road_data-next_enabled = abap_false.
        ELSE.
          road_data-next_enabled = abap_true.
        ENDIF.
        road_node->set_static_attributes( road_data ).
    navigation
        wd_this->fire_navigate_evt( step ).
    Hope this will help you
    Thanks & reagrds

  • Issue in navigating to Sub road Map steps

    Hi experts,
I have a main step which is having 3 sub steps in fpm.
I am trying to navigate to 1st sub step on click of next button in the 1st main step.
This is being posssible with a normal button which is created uin a view and writing the code in the view action method.
However my requirement is to make that happen on click of a FPM button.
While doing so and writing the code in PROCESS_EVENT "Access via Null reference is beiong tHrown" on the line
    "IF NOT ls_target_state-substep IS INITIAL.
              lo_nd_substep = lo_element->get_child_node( name = wd_this->wdctx_substep )."
    Why is this Happening
    Ny ideas.
    reply is greatly appreciated......
    Thanks In advance

    Hello Shravan,
I think you are rasining the substep event in the process_event? in the process_event I dont think you can influence the navigation to substep of the same step.  you can only influence the substep of the subsequent main step (next main step).
if you want to navigate to the substep of the same Main step, then you should raise the SUBSTEP event before process_event method (NEEDS_CONFIRMATION method will do).
Try raising the SUBSTEP event in the NEEDS_CONFIRMATION method and see whether it works.

  • ESS - Skip a Road Map Step for Select Beneficiaries

    Hello Frnds,
We have a requirement in ESS - Benifits & Payments --> Open Enrollment.
If you select any of the Insurance Plan and either Add/Edit Plan then in next screen we will get a Select Beneficiaries button and if we click it, then it takes us to a sub step 1b which allows users to Select their Beneficiaries. We want to skip it. Is there any way ?
    Is there any config ?
    Thanks
    Shobhan

If this is needed only on the portal side, there is no other IMG config in ESS that can control this.
    You can try 2 options:
    1. Enhancements on Function Module: HR_BEN_ESS_SCREEN_CTRL_INSURE (for insurance plans related modifications).  Look at SCREEN_CTRL in debugging mode.
    2. Web dynpro personalization - In this case it can get a bit tricky.
Option 1 might be a better bet as you might want to limit this only for certain plans.

  • Help on Road Map

    Hi
My requirement is simple. I have 3 Views. I navigate from View 1-2-3. Now I want the Road map to show in which step i am currently and also must allow the user to navigate freely among these three views by clicking on the Road map Steps. But internally , navigation works by plugs. I got this clear by reading other posts.
Now I started creating one and I am not able to even view a road map on my scree. I created 3 steps under a Road Map UI and gave the description and name for each steps. I made step 1 to be highlighted in View 1. Where could I have gone wrong ?
    Regards,
    Murali.

Oh Sirjee. That was a right guess. I put it inside a container, and hence it could not show it properly.
Now I am able to Navigate from View 1 to View 2 and the selected Yellow box also changes accordingly. I have manually at design time set these values.
I have one More question, Can I have the user click on the boxes to go to a particular step. Is it possible ? Or else should I have seperate buttons that contol the navigation ?
    Thanks a lot.
    Regards,
    Murali.

OK, well I would go with what Apple says in writing but if you want to take a trip to visit the Genius Bar that won't hurt.
Good luck, I'm 99% certain  you will find I was correct but please let us know.

  • How can I control the application log display format?

    Hello all,
I am running into a problem with regard to application log display, and I don't know if we can work on the standard log profile(BAL_S_PROF) to fulfill my requirement, I would like to get you advises.
Basically, we already saved numbers of the messages for each level (Domain BALLEVEL), so at last we will get a log tree with branches hopefully. Like below:
Level 1: Check document item 01 (traffic light is Red)
Level 2: Display success status (Traffic light is Red)
Level 3: Display method B( Traffic light is Red)
Level 4: Display processing status for method B( Traffic light is Red)
Level 3: Display method C ( traffic light is Green)
Level 4: Display processing status for method C ( traffic light is Green)
At present system determine the traffic light color of the upper level depending on the lower level status, if there is even one red light in the lower level, the upper one would be red, like in level 2.  My requirement is that we need to make level 2 as GREEN, this way it is more reasonable from the business point of view because a solution has been found. I did some research for the function module 'BAL_DSP_PROFILE_DETLEVEL_GET', but obviously I haven't found a way till now, can anyone shed some light on this?
    Thanks,
    Derek

    Hello Gaurav,
Thank You..!!! I tried appling filterFunction on the ADG and got whatever I expected but filter changes the original dataprovider behaviour. SO which I dont want to do it.
I have created a local variable and binded whatever data wanted to display on that page. Infact it works as expexted and I still have original data provider as well.
I have one more problem, I'm using creationComplete to initialize my local data provider value. It works only once while creation of state. If I navigate my screens fore and back and come back to this screen, it doesn't display the modified values as creationComplete loads only while state creation.
Is there any mothid which does the samething while vising the page every time than creation?
    Thanks,
    Siva

  • What is optimal behavior for an application when display area is reduced

    Citizens,
    Motivation
I am trying to get a software vendor to improve its window behaviour, and I need some evidence to throw at them so they don't do the old "Its an apple problem" speech when I bust into their office waving my placard.
    _The Problem_
The software product opens windows which are not visible on the current display space because it has saved window locations when the display space was bigger. Some windows can be accessed using Window-Zoom, but others (apparently modal dialog boxes) cannot be accessed without plugging in another screen.
    Objective
I am trying to determine what the best-of-breed solution to this problem is. How do other applications deal with this?
    Theory
There is an expectation that the application should be able to deal with a changing environment. However, I propose that OS X should be able to detect that a window is being displayed in an inaccessible location, and that it should be taking action to make it accessible - e.g by moving the window so a grabbable part of it is visible on the nearest edge of the screen to its requested location.
    Expectation
This will be what they call a "robust" discussion.
    Scenario
The product in question is MYOB Accountedge.
    The problem scenario is this:
    * we have an OS X system with two monitors. They are the same size, but this is not relevant to this problem.
    * On startup, MYOB displays a small "control console" window which has icons for its primary functions.
    * We set the "Save window sizes and locations" option in Accountedge preferences, on the Windows tab page.
    * From the console window, open up the Banking application (which opens a new window), click Spend money (which opens another new window) and move that window to the second monitor.
    * Next, click the possible-values button in the Acct column, which opens a window on the first screen, and move that window to the second screen too. We are moving it because the first screen is a laptop, the second screen is 14", and the operator is a myopic old geezer)
    * Now stop MYOB and remove the second monitor.
    * Restart MYOB and repeat the above - you observe the following:
    - the main window appears on the first screen regardless of where it was when you last closed it down
    - the Spend money window is not visible, but under the Window menu bar option, you can see that it is active.
    - under the Window menu bar option, you can select Zoom, which makes it take up the whole screen. (Some windows will let you resize this down while keeping the display fields useable, others compress the display areas so they are unusable unless it is full-screen sized - this is clearly a bug.)
    - when you click the possible-values button in the Acct# column, nothing appears to happen. The Menu bar Window list is all disabled (i,e. greyed.) The Zoom function is not accessible. I can see the dialog box in Expose but Expose does not seem to offer a way to move it.
There is no way to get to the account list help dialog. It is being displayed outside the visible space and there is no way to access it. As far as I can tell, OS X does not have a keyboard solution for moving dialog boxes, so the only way to move the window so it is visible is to use the mouse, but the mouse cannot get to it.
    So: What should happen?
