Creation of Import Control/commodity codes and Language translation

Dear All,
My requirement is to maintain new control codes for country India for the different Custom duty rates and to maintain the condition records for all the condition types associated with Customs Duty.
1) I have already maintained chapter-ids in J1ID on production.
2) In SPRO, I have defined new Commodity codes/import code by country for which a customizing request is generated on
development server, the menu path being:-
                     - Sales & Distribution
                          - Foreign Trade/Customs
                              - Basic data for foreign trade
                                   - "Define commodity code/import code numbers by country"
Query :- Now, my customizing request is pending and I have been asked to maintain the the translation for all new created commodity codes and have also been asked to copy the English description to all existing languages.
I need to know at an earliest how to maintain the translation for the newly created codes.
Hope I have made my query clear !

  • Commodity code and import code no

    hi SAP SD guys,
can any body explains about commodity codes and import
codes number? for what purpose it is used?

when trading internationally, then you need to find the correct commodity code for your goods , so you can fill out the customs paperwork accuratly. the code is minimum 8digit, but can be more. depending on the code you can lookup duty rates and import export restrictions.
commodity code and import code no and HTS harmonized tariff schedule is basically the same and captured in just one single field in SAP. It is used as well for European trade statistics such as Intrastat and extrastat.

  • Importing Intrastat commodity code to BNITMDV

    Hello all,
I am importing a set of commodity codes against Items in a 2007A SP01 PL7 database using the DTW2005.0.28
The error I get is 'Unknown error - 1005!UDO_BNITMDV'
The error occurs for update of manually entered intrastat details via DTW, and for imports for the Item code alone, or with the item code and commodity code.
The commodity code being imported exists and the item code also exists.
BNITMDV does not have a space in the name of the UDO and  this is the only cause of this error I have found in any postings.
What else can cause this error?
    Any help appreciated.
    Thanks

    Update
There is a Mention of the error in Re: Importing UDO with DTW ... by
Paul Feeney. This states that the error results from a UDO with a space character in the name.
After a short webex it appear that this is not the name of the UDT but the name of the object in Tools > Customisation Tools > Objects Registration Wizard. In the case of BNITMDV the default name is 'Item Master Data Default Settings' this has to be changed to  'Item_Master_Data_Default_Settings'
Thanks to Zoltan for pointing this out.

  • KM content and language translation

Dear Portal Experts, I have a page with multiple links and content that was created in KM-documents as HTML file. This URL is being called using the URL iview in a page. Is there any way to translate and display the content in multilanguage based on user login language. Thanks
    Regards
    Gabriel

    Hi,
First you need to arrange the KM content in different folders based on the language. Let say if are displaying help file.
Then in KM you need have folder Help following by sub folder for each language. Under these folders you will need to maintain the translated documents.
Now develop a custom abstract portal component ... implement the method doOnNodeReady()...
under this method, get the logged in user and his language.
    request.getUser().getLocale();
will provide you that. Now dynamically build an url for the KM document to be displayed.
    e.g.
    String url = "/irj/go/docs/documents/help/"+request.getUser.getLocale()+"help.html";
Once you have the url, then you need to forward the request to this url using the below code:
    request.forward(url);

Loading Commodity Codes and Import Code Numbers
    Use
This procedure describes how to load an external file containing commodity codes or import code
numbers for use in your system.
    Prerequisites
u2022 The external file must be in ASCII format
u2022 You need to know the structure of the file u2013 which columns (positions) the codes, the text
descriptions and the units of measure occupy.
    Procedure
    1. You access this function from the Foreign Trade Data Service Cockpit.
    2. Choose the appropriate tab u2013 European Union, Japan or Other u2013 in the Load/Compare
section of the Data Service Cockpit. Choose the Load commodity code button next to the
Commodity code field to display the selection criteria screen.
    3. Enter the selection criteria and the file specifications.
Entries in the following fields are mandatory:
    u2013 Country key
    u2013 File name
    u2013 Drive
    u2013 Subdirectory
    u2013 Initial position goods number
    u2013 Final position goods number
    u2013 Initial position goods text
    u2013 Final position goods text
See the field help (F1) for detailed information about each of the fields in this procedure.
You can determine the actual positions of the columns for the data record structure
entries by opening the ASCII file and counting the spaces used for the digits and the
text characters. For this you need to identify the beginning and end positions of the
codes, their texts and units of measure (when applicable) and enter them in the
    corresponding fields.
For example, for a commodity code file with the contents "12345678 Sample text"
(with no unit of measure), you should make the following entries in the data record
    structure section:
    Data Record Structure
    Field
    Entry
    Initial pos. goods no.
    1
    Final pos. goods no.
    8
    Initial pos. goods text
    10
    Final pos. goods text
    21
If there is no unit of measure (optional entry), the last position for the goods text can be a
number that is much greater than the actual final position for the goods text (for example,
    200).
    4. If you want to use this set of codes as the basis for maintaining the codes in the system,
select Carry out preparations and enter an identification code in the Key for upload field. You
will need this key to access this set of codes during maintenance.
    5. If you are installing codes from floppy disks or several files
u2013 For the first disk or file, select First data carrier
<![if !supportLists]>u2013 <![endif]>For additional disks or files, select Further data carriers
    6. Execute the function.
    Results
The system uploads the file contents to the SAP System.
    Potential Errors
When you execute this report, the system issues an error message if
u2022 The values for the beginning and end positions overlap
u2022 You enter an incorrect length for a commodity code or import code
    number
u2022 The length for the codes has not been maintained for the country you
    enter on the selection screen.
You assign commodity code and import code lengths for each country in
Table T609S in Customizing (see Sales u2192 Foreign Trade/Customs u2192
Basic Data for Foreign Trade u2192 Length of commodity Codes/Import
    Code Numbers).

  • Differrence between HTS Code and Commodity Code

    Hi All,
What is the difference between commodity code and HTS code in US. Also what's the significance of both the codes.
    Regards,
    Prabu

    Hi Prabhu,
The difference between HTS and Commodity codes are as below
HTS is Harmonized Tariff Schedule which is a product classification used when using for US Customs import Declaration
Commodity Codes known as Schedule B Numbers are the product classification numbers used when in doing the Customs Export Declaration.
Commodity Codes or HTS or HS codes are mainly depend on the basic commonly agreed numbering schemes maintained by World Customs Organization(WCO).
The common thing among these two numbering schemes is the first 6 digits are same and rest are different.
    Mark if helpful.

  • Importing a journal voucher with GL Codes and BP Codes

    Hi Experts,
I'm trying to get a DTW import for Journal Vouchers working on 8.8 PL05. I have a journal voucher template with GL Codes and BP Codes that I need to import as this is part of some integration.
If I leave out the BP Codes it works fine but if I add them into the sheet is gives a DTW error "invalid account code application-defined or object-defined error 65171".
I have tried to add BP code to shortname and add contra account.
Please any help would be appreciated.
    Regards
    Lou van Wyk

    Welcome to SAP forum Lou...
I do not know about 8.8 Journal vouchers, but some time ago we were importing with BP codes and we ran into a somewhat similar situation.  I believe we had to format the BP codes to Text in Excel before saving the file to CSV.
Another time I was working with an individual who had not set up two BP Master Data records before doing transactions like it states in SAP's User Guide titled Data Migration and Opening Balances...
    Maybe that helps?

  • Commidity code and country of origen

    Hello
what is the relation ship b/w the country of origin and commodity code ( imports and as well as sd relented . please help me with business .
    @sakhi

there is no relation between commodity code and country of origin beside they are almost always mentioned together in reports or forms that are given to customs and statistical offices.
the commodity code is an intenational nomiclature for materials, the first 6 digits are common world wide. the other digits are more region specific defined e.g. for Nafta, or for european union.
The country of origin play a role in preferences, means if a good is EU origin, then a supplier from the EU you can ship it with low customs duty  than the same good with a chinese origin for example.

  • Tax Code and Description

    Hello All,
We are making a customized report based on vendor invoices.
    1) Need to know tables or logic where we can find/pull out tax codes and its description.
    2) When invoice is posted value goes to GR IR account, from which table i can get the GR IR value.
    Regards
    Himanshu Nijhawan

    Hi Himanshu,
    1) Need to know tables or logic where we can find/pull out tax codes and its description.
You can find the Tax code in RSEG Table for the Vendor Invoice. Specify the Document No & Year, you will get the tax code in the field RSEG - MWSKZ
Tax code Description can be obtained in the Table T007S. Specify Tax Code and Language as well to get the description
    2) When invoice is posted value goes to GR IR account, from which table i can get the GR IR value.
For this, first you should get the Account document corresponding to the Invoice. So, Query table BKPF with the following fields to get the accounting document
    Company Code
    Year
Object Key (AWKEY) = Your Invoice No + Year (Concatenated Value for eg., 51000000002012
you will get the Accounting Document No in the field BKPF-BELNR
WIth the Accoutning Document & Year, query the table BSEG to get the GR/IR accounting posting. Generally the GR/IR is posted with Posting Key 86 (BSEG-BSCHL)

  • Foreign Trade Fields in SRM - Commodity Codes

    Hello All -
Are there any standard foreign trade fields in SRM, like Commodity Code and Country of Origin?  I have not seen these fields and I was wondering how other people have handled this.
    THanks
    JAne

    Jane,
We have  implemented the classic scenario here with SRM 5.0. So, the foreign trade functionality is being handled on the backend.  I looked around and didn't see fields for HTS nor country of origin.
I do not know if that is being handled in the extended classic or if SRM 7.0 has that functionality.
I hope someone who is on SRM 7.0 can answer that question because that functionality would be a something we could use here as well.
    Regards, Dean.

  • Commodity code from GTS to Feeder - full load

Which report can I use to transfer all materials / commodity codes to the feeder system.  I know that report /SAPSLL/STAWN_RETRANSFER  can be used to select the materials as of a certain date, but I want to re-synchronize GTS with the feeders because the batchjob which was created for this stopped running for a number of days.
    Regards,
    Luc Schouterden

    Hello Luc,
to re-transfer commodity codes execute on GTS side report /SAPSLL/STAWN_RETRANSFER and on feeder side /SAPSLL/STAWN_RETRANSFER_R3.
    1. /SAPSLL/STAWN_RETRANSFER calls RFC function module into the feeder system which fills up intermediate tables /SAPSLL/T604R3 and /SAPSLL/SWNWLR3 (preparation of takeover commodity code to feeder)
    2. Than report /SAPSLL/STAWN_RETRANSFER_R3 takes the records from 2 intermediate tables from previous step and distributes these into the MARC, T604 and T604T tables (assignment of commodity codes and descriptions to materials)
    Best regards,
    Gabriel.

  • Clarification on table T002, report RSCPLANGU and language installation

    Hello everyone,
We need to add a language key to table T002.  There are already several postings in SDN related to this topic, but none seem to be fully answered.  I have also not found a clear answer on this topic in the SAP Help Library or on SAP Service Marketplace.
We have a ERP 6.0 EHP4 Unicode system.  In our system, table T002 contains 41 entries.  However, we do not have 41 languages installed in our system (we have ~12).  How did the additional language keys get added to table T002?
Table T002X, which also appears to contain language keys, contains 560 entries.  I found report RSCPLANGU, which copies all entries in table T002X to table T002, including the additional language key that we need.  However, I am wondering what exactly does this accomplish?
If we do not need to login to the additional language, is it necessary to actually install the additional language?
Thanks in advance for any information you can provide.
    Tommye

    Hi,
Please distinguish terms "language key" and "language (translation) data":
The language keys defined in a system specifiy for which languages it can process data; THIS Note covers ONLY the definition of language keys.
Language data are the translated texts for a language which you can install in order to have a user interface in that language.
You can define a language key, but not install the user interface data of that language.
Additionally, you can check SAP note 579937.
    Thanks

  • Uninstall Printer Drivers, Additional Fonts, Language Translations?

I just did an Archive and Install of 10.4 from 10.3.9, ran the combo updater to 10.4.3, and then upgraded to 10.4.4, but my only partly-caffeinated bad self installed all the extras Printer Drivers, Additional Fonts, and Language Translations when I did the original A and I of 10.4.
I neither want nor need all these extras. How should I go about rectifying this situation?
    Thanks!
    Dual 2 GHz G5   Mac OS X (10.4.4)   6.5 GB RAM

You can also disable fonts using Font Book (in the /Applications folder). But be careful, as disabling the wrong fonts can cause problems with various applications. Such problems include programs unexpectedly quitting as soon as they are launched.
Note: I have had no problems disabling all of the Asian character fonts.
