Creative Xfi fatality FPS problems

Hi I recently bought a fatilty soundcard but haev not been able to install it at all, I get a mixture of memory parity errors, BSOD and most of the time the drivers wont even install as it says supported hardware not detected, I didn't pay money so i could get a useless card, my motherboard is an intel om398 with bios a09, i have tried plenty of things to get this card working, but so far to no avail. Are there any known issues with intel boards? And if so is there anything I can do to get it working? Thanks Ant. btw my computer is a dell dimension 4700 with 2gb ram, an x800xt card etcMessage Edited by natastna2 on 2-2-200607:55 AM

Try using a different PCI slot for the card (as the card has onboard memory, I seriously recommend a slot whose IRQ is not shared with any onboard or other PCI devices. Consult your manual to find the slot. On my Asus A8N-SLI, it's slot 3. If such a PCI slot is already occupied in that slot, then you will have to free up the slot by moving cards around to make for space for the X-Fi.

hello all. just recently bought a xfi fatality card, and im trying to connect it to my xbox 360 to get sound, and thats when the problems start.i have a optical cable from my xbox 360 connector to the optical in on my fatality front panel and some headphones connected to the headphone jack, but i get no sound at all. i have also tried the rca inputs on the front panel but no sound there either.tried to hook up a dvd player to just to test it, but like always no sound. its not my xbox thats faulty?as i've tested it on my stereo. could someone please help me im at a loss and dont know what to do.i've tried to change stuff in console but to no use. thanks for your help and?replys paperman?ps have searched the forum but no luck?

I had this problem to begin with, its just because as default the SPDIF in is muted. If you open the launcher in entertainment mode go to the option where you can the volume to each kind of audio and at the top of the volume slider on some of the devices there is an arrow pointing down. Click on this and choose SPDIF and then unmute it. I'm having a further problem now though as i've got the sound playing from my PS2 but i cant get 5. from it on DVD videos only stereo, any ideas?

When i'm installing my fatality software, it auto reboots when it installs my audio drivers.
Im busy for like 4 hours to fix this, but getting real tired now.
i tried really everything. Since i read about its maybe an mobo issue , but i cant find any solution for it.
Also cant update my bios since asus website is not aviable.
Can u please help me and tell me what to do about this.
    Lamas.

Im really tired of reposting this... but call creative.. they will RMA your card. There is a known bug with Nforce4 MOBO and this card. You most likely have a xfi card with the old bios. This will update your bios wen you send it back.

  • SOUND MUTING WITH XFI FATALITY TITANIUM AND WINDOWS 7

5SOUND MUTING WITH XFI FATALITY TITANIUM AND WINDOWS 7z Ok sorry if this hasbeen covered before but I searched and couldn't find it so here goes:
I have a two month old XFI FATALTY TITANIUM CARD WITH THE FRONT PANEL BREAKOUT BOX.
It showed up staright away as a hi fi device and the optical output when selected works ok I dunno about surround sound it simply plays great stereo through my Arcam DAC connected up to my stereo.
Problems began when I decided to install the Creative Software. What happens i sit plays for maybe o mins then mutes also I primarily use i tunes and it wont play anything until a few seconds after the music starts.
This is just on optical out if I use standard phono to 3.5mm jack its fine.
What puzzles me is why this happens when using the creative software ? Reverting back to the pre creative software it plays fine I would just like to take advantage of the various functions suplied with creative software?
Any ideas please. FWIW I Completely deinstalled the card and installed? abasic CMI 8738 card and that does the same so maybe its windows 7
Oh spec wise Windows 7 32 bit
    4GB RAM
    Asus MOBO

Weird... I changed nothing and yeterday it worked...
I just understand this, but what the hell?

  • Random BSOD/Crackle Pop in BF2/BSOD in BF2142 on X-FI Fatality FPS Champ

Using latest drivers from Creative v2.9.7 not the June/July update through windows update because it kills the DTS and makes the sound sound all monolike. Ok so here it goes, the driver support says that the latest should've fixed the BF2 crack/snap/pop sounds but I just reinstalled the game recently and I still hear it even with the current version I use so I guess it isn't fixed. 2nd issue is when setting it audio to x-fi with Ultra High, it BSOD's after awhile or so of playing with ha20x2k.sys. Also I get random BSOD's from doing various things such as I could be watching a movie then wanted to play a game or something then a BSOD occurs thereafter with ha20x2k.sys issue again. No this doesn't happen all the time just after my computer has been used for a few days and when I have been listening to various audio's from being a movie or music. On some games it just gives BSOD as if it were random. After a quick reboot I can play the game fine so I just know it's random to the point where it can happen if maybe multiple files with audio are initiated either it being a game and/or movie. And last issue is BF242. I find it funny how it says certified for 242 and/or best heard with on X-fi and yet it gives these casual BSOD after playing for an hour or so using X-FI ultra high settings. I was wondering what can be done to fix any of the 3 possible issues already said on the topic. Yes I've reinstalled them again and still no go. I only have the drivers instealled, EAX, audio console, volume properties, DTS NEO:6, and GO launcher v5.0. Everything else I got rid of... so if anyone knows of a solution or suggestion please let me know. Thanks. P.S. Was looking around but I don't see a Fatality FPS Champion edition no more. Only Xtremegamer Fatality... discontinued? Problem related issues?

  • XFI Fatality Gamer + GigaWorks S750 + Decoder DDTS-

    Dear Sir,
Im using XFI Fatality Gamer + GigaWorks S750 + Decoder DDTS-00 ( just bought it ) and the question is I feel no difference ( Dolby Digital and DTS Effect ) when I'm not using the Decoder.
    What I've done is I already :
Connect cable from my soundcard to switch box and then another cable I connect it from my Gigaworks to switch Box. And then from the switch box it self I connect it into the decoder. All the cable im using is the standard from Creative. I haven't used any coax or optical cable.
Looking forward and really appreciated for the assistance.
    Many Thanks.

To connect your Soundblaster NX to your DDTS-100 decoder, and let the decoder handle the DD/DTS decoding, you have to connect a digital/optical/coax cable, from the digital output of the NX, to one of the digital inputs on the decoder.. Also make sure you have set the settings on the souncard, to "digital output only", so that the decoder can decode the encoded digital streams, sendt by the soundcard..
if you want to connect your soundcard to the decoder via analog cables, and let the soundcard do the decoding it self, you will need to use a 7.1 analog-audio cable, that comes with both the decoder and the speaker system. Connect the audio cable from the analog output on the soundcard, to the input "switch-box", and set the switch-box to "PC-audio". Also make sure you have connected your speakers to the "switch-box".

  • Creative XFI Xtreme Music & Nforce6 prob

I recently upgraded my computer system from a MSI Nforce4 motherboard and a AMD-FX 55 processor to a Intel Quad core Q6600, and a MSI Nforce 6 650i P6N SLI Plantinum (or is it premium? i can't remember) Motherboard. After this change i started to get random system crashes. After many many many days of trouble shooting and formatting, i narrowed down the problem to my Creative XFI Xtreme music sound card. When my system crashes, the system will freeze with all but some sound glitches (if playing anything with sound at the time). Only way out is to reboot. No errors in the event logs indicated to me what could have been the problem.
Even though i have updated all system drivers, Bios, formatted, even used the creative XFI Beta drivers the only thing that solves my system crashes is the removal of the xFI card itself from the system. (yes i have disabled onboard audio). So my question is, Does anyone have any experiences with the Generation XFI cards and a Nforce6 based motherboard that has had a issue like this? Or is it just a compatibility problem with the MSI P6N 650i SLI board itself? Could even be the card has gone bad, however these problems only started after changing hardware which leads me to beli've in a compatibility problem. Could it be the card needs a newer EPROM Chip?
Any users with the same issue or similiar?
    Thank you very much.

Thank you everyone for your replys. To answer the Questions (Hope i get them all).
. I was running WinXP Pro before, and currently Am still running WinXP Pro.
    2. I Did as well change PCI Slots with the same end result of the system freezes/crash.
    3. Toronto699, yes i have noticed the problem only goes away when the SOund card is removed, so at least i Now know i am not alone in this problem.
I figured that nforce 5/6 must be a issue, although i know there are many people out there that are running XFI cards on these chipsets, it does appear from all of the complaint posts through-out this forum that the latest drivers are not up to speed with all of the newer motherboards/chipsets out there. Esp since it Did work fine on my Nforce4 board (which i know there was a bug Even with the XFI and nforce4 chipsets early on tho i never had any), and only after i changed over did the problem start happening, which lead me to beli've in a incompatibility issue.
Even though i will probably never come accross a fix.. IF i do, i will be sure to post it.
once again, thank you for all that have replied.

  • Creative Zen loading music problem

"Creative Zen loading music problem?I just started using a creative zen (DVP-FL000, 6Gb) player and i'm having?a few issues copying music onto it.
I have loaded the latest firmware (.2.03e) onto it and formatted it so was clean when i started loading my music on.
I'm using winamp on winxp to copy my music to the player, but occasionally i get tracks that wont copy to the player. Winamp just shows 'unspecified error'. If a file fails to copy it will never copy, no matter how many times i try. Somtimes its a random track, sometimes an entire album.
So i also tried copying the tracks that wont copy using windows explorer, it appears to copy but the file never appears on the device. The same is also true when i try it on my Windows7 laptop with explorer, it will appear to be copying but then part way through it will report that the device has stopped responding.
It only seems to happen with windows media files, all my mp3s copy fine. The files that dont copy probably represent about 0% of my music but play fine on all my other players.
sorry for the long post, just really scratching my head with this one!
    anyone have any ideas?

    solved
did a 'clean up' in the recovery menu, no problems transferring tracks since

  • Fatal Error:  Problem parsing signature --D

I get "Fatal Error: Problem parsing signature --D" followed by the name of the class that I'm attempting to initialize. This occurs when I run the program, however I don't get this when I am debugging. Does anyone know what this means and how I can fix it?
    Thanks,
    Tyler

I figured it out. My problem was that there was some kind of error happening in my code. I believe is was a couple of null pointer exceoptions or something along those lines. Once I debugged the hell out of my code, I was able to run the app completely without the error. I'm sure the same thing is happening with you as well.
