Creator CVS problem

Hi
We're trying to use a tool for CVS, while developing a project in Creator.
Currently we have two stations working on the same project. We've modified a file, made the check in for it and got it in the other station, to verify the change was actually made. But we haven't seen any change. The problem is that Creator seems to work with a cache of the project already opened. We think so because if we close the project, and open it again, the change is reflected.
Is there any option or parameter to avoid that caching thing? Or any other kind of solution to this.

Creator 2 problems on PowerBook G4 OS X 10.4.4

I am having a G4 17", 1.67GHZ, 2GB with Java build 1.5.0_06-103 on OS X 10.4.4. I could install Creator without problems. It is also starting fine. But the moment I want to start a new Project the little progress bar in the upper right corner will "flicker" and it shows "scanning" forever. I can let it run for an hour and no progress happens. If I am closing Creator 2 after that it will hang while telling me that it is writing some data into the persistent storage. The only way to stop it is to end it with kill-9. Then at the next start up it will show "fatal exception" during start up. I have uninstalled everything and re-installed 3 times, always the same result. On my Windows XP it is running flawless. But Mac would be nice...

Just want to reiterate that we have successfully installed to
PowerBook G4 with 10.4.5 with jdk1.5.
On the G5, we have an open issue of first project created on
startup to be corrupted. In that case it will not open. A subsequent
project created will work. We have seen this problem very
sporadically on the G4, however it may be possible that you have
hit this. Neither of the respondents have answered so I assume
that you have been able to get past this and go forward with Creator. (?)

Studio Creator installation problem with Fedora 5

Hi,
I tried installing JCreator in Fedora core 5, but I get the problem concerning the graphical installation. I tried installing Jcreator in silent mode using the command line options -is:log log.txt �silent and a sp file which sets the installDir and is.debug to 1 , however the installation does not complete, properly and it does not install the SunAppServer8 directory

I can't recall what they are, but I know that there are some libs that you need to install to get the Creator installation to complete OK on Fedora 5.
I think that I ended up using some libs from either Fedora 3 or 4 since there were no Fedora 5 versions available for the two (and again, I can't recall what they were) libs.
I do know that it is possible though as I have Creator on Fedora 5 right now.

Cvs problem in flex builder 2.0

Hi, everyone, I have installed my flex builder 2.0 without
problem, and i have created some apps using it.
It is really good.
But the question is , when I set up a CVS client in flex
builder, i can only do commit / update / synch, Why the Edit /
Unedit menus are disabled? Dose anyone know this? I think it is
very inconvenient.

CVS problem (freezing) with JDeveloper

Using JDeveloper 9.0.5.1 build 1605, i am having a real weird problem with cvs. cvsnt has been installed in both my laptop and server. When connecting to local cvs server everything is fine. but when i try to connect to a remote server, suddenly the computer freezes. the freezing goes on for about 10 seconds, then everything gets back to normal, and after 5 seconds or so, everything freezes again. this goes on till i kill jdeveloper process.
the freezing goes on for a while after i kill it, but it goes away after that. but after that all my networking goes weird, and i can no longer ping the cvs server.
using eclipse, and tortoise from windows explorer i can connect to remote server without problems. i am using pserver, and my os is windows xp pro with sp2. I have also tried preview version of jdeveloper, but the symptoms are the same, even if i choose to use the cvs version that comes with jdeveloper or use the one from the environment vars (path)
so has anyone experienced such a problem? any help would be appraciated a lot.

Just a few questions to try and track down why this is happening.
Which version of cvsnt are you using, could you paste the output of cvs --version into this thread?
Do you have a large repository? JDeveloper did have some problems with cvs support being over chatty when trying to find incoming changes. JDeveloper was making more connections to the cvs server than were being cleared up effectively DOSing the cvs repos.
10.1.3 Production should have fixed this, could you give it a try?
It sounds like something is stopping network connections from being freed.

CVS PROBLEM??

I have a CVS in a linux enviroment, and i use JDeveloper 10.1.3 EA ( Im a newbie CVS user )....and we are working in a MVC Project, and we have a proyect in the cvs, all the programmers download this projects, and in local mode they create more JSP pages, but, when they create new jsp pages this do some modifications in the faces-config.xml, and ....if someone create a jsp page and commit it...in the "Incoming" on the "CVS window" of Jdeveloper of the other programmers appears the files who was created and modificated, but where appears the "incoming status" of the faces-config.xml file, and the DataBindings.cpx says "Conflict on Merge".......
What i have to do to solve that problem and continue creating pages in different pc's at the same time?

When a file has a merge conflict, you can right-mouse on it and "Resolve Conflicts..."
This brings up a window where you can decide how it is correct to take the conflicting changes from multiple developers.

Creator 2 Problem - Docked Windows Keep Popping Up

I'm having an issue with the released version 2. I have all of my windows, i.e. Palette and Navigator on the left and Projects and Properties on the right, docked and minimized. Then, when I move to the tab of another file, these windows pop to the foreground and stay there even when I click the underneath file editor.
I'm using the latest release, fully updated. Win2K, 2GB RAM. Anyone else having this problem? Anyone know how to fix it?

To see if this really is worth fixing ...
If Palette and Output are closed. Is it really unacceptable to
open via a shortcut key combination?
Or docked windows should remain in the docked state regardless
of switching to the Designer?
In this case then activating using shortcut keys is more
efficient than clicking the docked area ?
I do see in Creator 1.0 that docked windows remain docked
when switching, in a sense, a regression.
If this is really an inconvenience then I can file a bug

10.1.3 Release 3 & CVS Problems

I have been successfully using JDev with CVS thru SSH2 connection. Recently (and I have not made any updates) JDev thinks it should remove from CVS files that I have NOT marked for deletion when I open it. It only happens when I launch JDeveloper. Almost every time it randomly selects files that I have not marked for deletion and thinks it should do a complete removal of them from even the CVS server. This is a HUGE problem. Any ideas on how to get it to stop other than disconnect entirely from CVS?

This problem does not appear to be fixed by the bug fixes you mentioned. I downloaded and installed the latest version, etc.
Several times since I see stuff like this in the message area:
<internal cvs client> remove euser_includes.jsp
cvs remove: scheduling `euser_includes.jsp' for removal
cvs remove: use `cvs commit' to remove this file permanently
I have not touched this file and by the time I see this message it has removed the file from my hard drive. I have to go to the Pending Changes area and right click on the file name and choose CVS -> add. If I do not do this, and happen to do a commit all...I lose the file even from the remote CVS server. This is a big problem for me because if I happen to miss one of those messages, I lose my file entirely. The file it picks is random. I have begun to only keep one workspace open, because if there are other workspaces open, it could pick files from those, which it has and if I am not actively working on those, then it causes huge problems losing files.

Creator Startup problem: Password Protected Site

Hi, does anyone know why this happens. I've been using this version of creator for a few months and now every time I startup it pops up a box with the title Password Protected Site and asks for a username and password. If I keep pressing cancel it goes away but I need to do that like 20 times. I've tried my sun developer password - doesn't work either. Does anyone know what the password is?

after installing Netbeans 5.5 in a VMware environment (Version 5.5, Host: Ubuntu 6.10, Guest-OS: Windows XP) i was able to reproduce this problem.
In my environment i'm behind a proxy, which is automatically configured via Internet Explorer.
After getting this weird "Password protected site" popup i remembered cealex solution and tried my Proxy authentication. Et voila. it worked (i had to put it in twice!!!). So i think, whenever it has a network connection it tries to download new contents for "Articles & News" and "Blogs".
I feel that it is just a weird popup header ... ;-)
I'm also a newbie to Netbeans.

Creator Install Problems on Mac OS X - 10.3.7.

Problems installing Creator on Mac OSX. After uncompressing the download, I run the command to start the install from the new "Creator" volume. All is good. The command opens up a terminal window and executes it's little script, finds Java, kicks off the GUI and all is well. Install is over, all good, I get "the end" and "logout" in the terimanl window. So
However, after succesfull install, every time I open a terminal, it now tries to run this same darn command.
AND IT DOES FOR ANY SHELL I HAVE.
When and if I login with a different user, other then my default account, no issues.
If anybod has any ideas, please help.
Oh yeah, if I execute the uninstall command, all is clean, uninstall works, I manually remove .Creator from my home dir.

I'm not sure what command you speak of. When you
install creator you can just run it using the icon it
created for you, there should be no need to run any
command from a terminal.
Regards jPJP, I am talking about the cnd to start the install. After clean good install, every time I try to open a terminal window, it tries to run the install command, i.e. start the install. Sorry for the confusion.

JDev Internal CVS problem: no indication that local source is out of date

Hi,
I have a situation where two people are coding an ADF BC / Faces project and both developers are editing the model, modifying the same AM etc.
When one developer commits their changes to the CVS, the other developer has no indication that their copy is now out of date with the CVS. The incoming changes is set to run every 5 minutes and definately runs, but there is no way of knowing that a local copy is out of date. Is JDev meant to do this or is something not configured properly?
Aside from updating each object every single time prior to make a change to it, is there any way that JDev can change the CVS Icon on each object if it is different than the CVS?
What does the "Finding Incoming changes" do if it is not meant to flag files as out of date?

So far this is not working well at all. We are spending a lot of time fixing problems caused by one or more files for each object being out of date. We are having to do a force unchanged commit to get rid of the 'mixed states' status on some objects.
The delete from CVS also completely hangs JDev on both developers PC's as wll as stuffs the AM definition.
can anyone recommend an alternative that they have had success with?

Qt Creator - pkgconfig problem

CVS problem: Entries file not being created

I am using Flash Builder 4 Standard. Connecting to CVS, it had been working correctly but now when sharing a project it isn't working. It creates the project in the repository but doesnt include any of the files. Looking in the actual project files (in finder) it has created a CVS folder correctly but only has 'repository' and 'Root' but not 'Entries' which I assume is the problem. These are the steps I am taking (which was working...)
Create new project
File > New > Project
Complete all fileds including path to the project files. Fla, and .as files.
Do all the work I need to, and is finished. So I want to share the project to the team.
Right click on the project in 'Package Explorer' window > Team > Share project...
Select the CVS repository, (the connection works as I see all the projects listed)
Select 'use project name as module name'
Next > enter password > Finish
At this point I used to get another dialogue window appear to be able to add comments and finalize the commit. But now for some reason nothing happens. No errors or anything. When I look in the repository the folder is there but it is empty.
Does any one have any idea how I can fix this? It is most strange and very frustrating! Any help would be greatly appreciated

Delivery transaction accounting can be seen in Inventory--Transactions--Material Distributions screen (assuming that your destination is inventory)

Java Studio Creator Installation Problems in ubuntu linux (JRE not found)

Hi, im having some problem with the installation of this tool, i try to install it and i get a message saying that it can't found the JRE, i have also tried passing it by argument like this:
-is:javahome /usr/lib/j2se/jre/bin/
-is:javahome /usr/lib/j2se/jre/
but i get the same message, any suggestions??

I was getting these same errors, and after a bunch of poking around
in the install script and debugging it, I finally figured out that the
"problem" was that I was typing 'sh <installer>' instead of chmoding the
installer +x and running it as a command. I still don't understand why
it couldn't find the installed JVN (it's in /usr/bin/java, for heaven's
sake!), but when running it as a command it extracted the bundled jvm
and completed the install.
It did produce an error about being unable to find some stuff for the
bundled server, which I haven't tried to track down since I don't think
I need it. But I was able to install Creator and run it on Gentoo.
Now if I can just figure out why it does nothing when I click build
on an existing project, I'll be happy.

Creator presentaion problem

We are using Creator 2EA to write the next version of our corporate web site and we were quickly confronted to a small presentation problem. It involves 2 StaticText components inside a 2 columns GridPanel. Actually, the problem is not strictly Creator 2EA related, but simply Creator (either 2004Q2 or 2EA).
By default, the StaticText components get rendered in the middle of the table row created by the GridPanel. What we need to achieve is to be able to position the StaticText components top-aligned inside the rendered table row. We have tried a few things with CSS (vertical-align:
top) applied on the StaticText components without much success.
Does anyone came across such a problem, and would be willing to share his / her workarounds / tweaks?
