  • Depreciation(Planned & Posted) not coming after AFAB.

Depreciation is not at all coming after AFAB, even for the planned values.  In the Asset GL only acquisition value is getting posted, no depreciation.  I have checked and tried most of the threads related to this in the SAP Forum but still not able to solve this problem.   Please suggest.

    Hi
When you are running AFAB in background, check the spool for error messages in SP02. The most common issues are as:
    1. If you are on new GL, required configuration not maintained in ACSET
    2. No ranges not maintained for Document AF
3.Fiscal Period is closed for Posting

  • Vendor Credit Memo posting to Asset when invoice did not

    Hi Experts,
We are on SAP 604 and have the following scenario.
PO to purchase an asset at $10,000.  (not an inventory item).
Goods receipt has NOT been done.
1st invoice comes in but is only for half of the asset.  (.5 qty at $5,000)  does not post to asset since there is no GR done.
    Postings:
    Debit 201010 $5000
    Credit 201015 $5000
2nd invoice is data entered wrong.  It is for the remaing half but Acts Pyble enters quanty of 1 instead of .5.
    Debit 201010 $5000
    Credit 201015 $5000
When reversing the second invoice (or even just entering a credit memo), instead of the posting doing a simple reversal of hte invoice like this :
    Debit 201010 $5000
    Credit 201015 $5000
SAP posts to the asset even though there has yet to be any other postings done to the asset (no GRs and no invoices have posted to the asset).  Credit Memo posts like this:
    Credit 201010 $5000
    Debit 201015 $6666.67
    Credit Asset: $1666.67
Please confirm whether you see this posting as an issue for the asset.  I have posted an OSS message to SAP and they are saying the system is working as designed unless I gather enough business requirements to do a development request.  I'm trying to see if this posting is just an issue for my organization.  Typically we would not expect a Credit Memo to capitalize the Asset.  - Or if you know of a fix, please let me know.
    Thanks!
    Cindy

If you do not want negative posting/ balances in your asset, you can configure the depreciation areas to allow positive values only. That way if balance is negative (as in your example), posting is not allowed.

  • Asset depreciation issue after Credit memo posted to asset.

    Hi,
We bought asset on 2010 Dec with price 100,000 SGD last year. The asset, monthly depreciation = 833.33 SGD with 20 year useful life.
This month, we received an CN to minus 20,000SGD for some reason.
Hence I do credit asset with transaction type 160, post 20,000SGD to this month.
Seem like now system are getting current NBV to calculate the depreciation for remaining useful life. It is not they want.
Business assume to get positive depreciation this month to re-adjust back the 20,000SGD depreciation to this month.
How to get month depreciation value 666.66 SGD after this asset? Hope you can suggest me.

Recheck your Multi Level Method in AFAMS. You should use the base value 24.
Have to ticked "remaining useful life"
Also, check your OAYR settings? Did you select "Smoothing"

  • ABAW not posted into GL after AFAB

    Dear Experts,
I am exploring the asset revaluation function (ABAW).  Have configured the integration point between AA-GL(AO90).  After posting revaluation via ABAW, I have executed AFAB but the values from the revaluation is not posted/generated from the depreciation run, hence my GL is not updated accordingly.
Hope to hear from you soon...
    Regards,
    MC

    dear
This revaluation amount will not be posted automatically. Once depreciation run takes place then only the amount gets posted to the GL account. Hence it is advisable to run at the year end.
Also the depreciation run has to be for the first time in order to get the revalued amount to be posted. Otherwise, the amount will not be posted in the GL account.
Run the Depreciation for a period in AFAB. If you do a test run you would be able to see the revaluation amount that has to be posted and the same would be reflected in the planned values in asset explorer (AW01N).

  • Customer credit amount..

    Dear Gurus,
Suppose If customer is having some credit amount in the company and no more he wants to continue his bussiness with the company then what is the procedure to clear the customers credit amount..please do the needfull
    Thanks in advance..
    Regards,
    Raj

    Hi
Since the customer wants to close his account, you will have to pay back the credit amount in his account after making all adjustments due to you.
You can include the customer payment in the APP run or make a manual entry for posting a payment to the customer.

  • Exchange rate diff amount posted to AUC asset

    Hello All,
I am stuck with one issue and looking for some help
We are creating purchase order with account assignment as projects and then doing MIGO & MIRO and then settling through CJ88 to AUC asset.
The issue is related to exchange rate difference amount posted to AUC asset.
MIGO and MIRO are done on different dates and the difference amount in exchange rate posted to GL account maintained in KDM.
Now, when i settle the WBS element through CJ88 the AUC asset is posted with amount including the exchange rate difference amount.
Business do not want the exchange rate amount added to the AUC asset.
please confirm is this the system standard behavior .
    Your inputs appreciated.
    Thanks
    Shashi

    Hi Shashi,
As per Accounting Standards, the asset must be valued on the exchange rate on the date which risk and reward is transferred from seller to buyer.
For example If the vendor despatch the assets on 01.03.2014 at his place and contract is Exworks then the asset must be valued on exchange rate on 01.03.2014. Lets assume exchange rate on that day is 1USD=60INR. The price is 100 USD. You receive the assets on 10.03.2014 and exchage rate on that day is 55 INR. Now if you make GR on 10.03.2014 Asset value will be 5500 INR whereas as per AS it should be 6000 INR. That is why when you do MIRO the differnce between 6000 and 5500 is posted to asset.
When you do MIRO you must enter currency(USD) in Basic data tab and exchange rate 60 in details tab.
What happens in your system is standard behavior of SAP as well as correct process as per Accounting Standards.
    Hope it is clear.

  • How to reverse the Depreciation for the excess amount posted?

    Hi Gurus,
We have uploaded the data last month from legacy system to SAP as below.
The Fiscal year is Jan - Dec and gone live on June 28th 2009.
Accumulated Depreciation was taken till Dec 2008.
Ordinary Depreciation was taken from Jan 2009 to June 2009.
But Ordinary depreciation is not up to date in SAP as the user miss out the 2 months depreciation for each Asset but this was already posted in legacy system. All the GL Balances have been uploaded as per the legacy system. Now system is taking the previous 2 months Depreciation along with the current month. If we run the Depreciation for the current month, the system will post excess amount as it includes previous 2 months Depreciation.
Can any one kindly suggest the process to reverse the excess amount after Depreciation posted for the current month?
    Thanks much for the help.
    Early responses will be appreciated.
    Best Regards,
    JBC

    HI
    Few clarifications-
    1. you have posted two months dep in legacy , have you transferred that dep amount wth the ordinary dep transferred from jan to june?
If yes, that means your last posted dep month is june and accordingly you have to set the last period (6) in the SPRO for asset data transfer specifications, so system will start calculating dep from the 7th period only and will not recalculate dep for last two months.Check the last posted period mentioned in SPRO.
2.If you have uploaded wrongly your ordinary dep for current year , then that means your Asset accounting opening balance (migrated balance ) is not matching with your Trial GL upload as well, so you need to correct your asset accounting opening balances.
For this you need to reset your company code status from 0 to blank ( tset data always allowed for asset data transfer). And then correct the values for current year ordinary dep posted from jan to june, also check the last posted dep period as above.
3.However you may post writeup ttype 700 to adjust the excess dep posted by any reason, you can extract last two months dep posted values asset wise from legacy system if already posted, and post the writeups for the same value in current period using LSMW.
    Cheers

  • Capitalization of Assets after MIRO ( Invoice Reciept)

    Hi Gurus
Our system allows for capitalization of Assets after MIGO ( Goods Receicpt) Client wants to capitalize assets only after MIRO ( Invoice Receipt). System should not be able to do capitalization after MIGO.
Do we need to make any changes to configurations??
    Thanks
    Regards
    Satish Kumar

    Dear Satish,
When u r procuring assets thru PO, at the time of MIGO ur asset account will get hit & will be capitalised. Also, at the time of invoicing ur GR/IR account will get a corresponding effect.
Now if your client want NOT to capitalise asset during MIGO then try with the below option:
Any asset that has to be procured will not be directly procured as asset. Every new asset to be purchased from outside will have its AUC account created. Now amount lying in AUC acount is not termed as capitalised. Now say u r procuring 10 chairs. Create a AUC for these 10 chairs. Make PO with this AUC. So whenever u will do MIGO ur asset will not get any effect but the amount will get posted in AUC. So this will solve ur purpose of not capitalising at time of GR. Later after invoicing, user can capitalise complete AUC or partial AUC using AIAB & AIBU.
Hope this will help solve ur query.

    Ajay

  • How to track the corresponding CWIP and Asset after settlement in reports

    Dear gurus,
We are trying to develop a single report which would have commitments, actual costs, Auc amounts and Final Asset postings w.r.t a project or WBS element.
What is the table where we can find AuC amount and CWIP number for given WBS elements. Similarly where can we find the Final Asset number corresponding to the WBS element.
Is there any way we can work around the settlement rules.. Is there any table where the settlement rules are saved??
    Pls guide..

I am trying to do an asset revaluation using  transaction AR29N
However, the following message appears when the transaction is executed
    Diagnosis
Depreciation still has to be posted for asset.....
    System Response
    The asset cannot be processed
    Procedure
Execute a depreciation posting run for the period 001/2011
I have already executed a depreciation run using transaction code AFAB for the period 001/2011. When I go to Asset Explorer AW01N under the posted values tab I am seeing depreciation posted for the period 01 for the year 2011.
Therefore, I do not understand why the system will still issue a message execute a depreciation posting run.
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks for replying.
I checked both the SAP notes you recommended and other SAP notes that relate to asset revaluation and still was not able to find any one that matched my problem.
Is there anything else you will be able to suggest ?

  • Profit center is posted to asset account??

    Hello experts,
I wonder it is correct that profit center is posted to asset account.
Now our B1 2005B does that.
    For example,
In AR credit memo (or Sales return) , we input profit center XX into the documents.
    Then B1 create Journal Entry as below;
    Dr
Sales Revenue 100 , profit center XX
    Inventory 50, profit center XX
    Cr
    AR 100,
Cost of Goods Sold 50, profit center XX
Inventory account is asset account, so I'd like to know this is correct and SAP's spec ? or SAP's bug?
    Please give your advise,
    Kaori

    Hi Kaori,
The functionality is slightly different in the B version so I can tell you how it working in the A version and maybe you can verify this.
The Profit Center should only be allocated to accounts that has been defined as Account type 'Sales' or 'Expenditure'. If the Inventory account is given this definition it will allocate the profit center to the inventory as well.
Normally by default P&L account are set as 'Sales' or 'Expenditure' and Balance Sheet accounts set as Account type 'Other'.
    Hope it helps.
