HI Murali
Credit and risk management takes place in the credit control area. According to your corporate requirements, you can implement credit management that is centralized, decentralized, or somewhere in between.
An organizational unit that represents the area where customer credit is awarded and monitored. This organizational unit can either be a single or several company codes, if credit control is performed across several company codes. One credit control area contains credit control information for each customer.
For example, if your credit management is centralized, you can define one credit control area for all of your company codes.
If, on the other hand, your credit policy requires decentralized credit management, you can define credit control areas for each company code or each group of company codes.
Credit limits and credit exposure are managed at both credit control area and customer level. You set up credit control areas and other data related to credit management in Customizing for Financial Accounting. The implementation guide is under Enterprise Structure -> Definition or Assignment -> Financial Accounting and then Maintain credit control area. You assign customers to specific credit control areas and specify the appropriate credit limits in the customer master record.
Settings for determining the credit control area of a document. The settings of items 1 - 4 are taken into account according to their priority. The credit control area found is stored in field VBAK-KKBER.

  • Issue log for credit management in SAP SD.

    Dear Experts,
I am stuck at a situation where I have found that the credit exposure has exceeded it's credit limit being specified, under FD32 screen, in credit management scenario. How this happened?
    Details of the issue :
    1) Credit master has not been maintained.
    2) If credit master has not been maintained then how the system was able to show the credit exposure of the respective customer?
    3) If the credit management settings were pre configured correctly then, why the sysytem didn't blocked the sales order in initial stages itself?
    Required guidance :
    1) why the credit check was not performed while processing the sales order?
    2) Why the sales order was not blocked when it exceeded the specified credit limit?
    3) What needs to be done now?
Scenario:                     Credit limit : 1000 INR
                                        Credit exposure :  10000 INR
                                        Credit limit used : 999.99%
    Kindly suggest & assist.
    Thanks & regards,
    M.S.Kumar.

Not sure but you can have a look at the following from SD side.
    1)  In your pricing procedure, SubTotal "A" should have been maintained for your basic price
    2)  In FD32, for that customer, the field "Credit account"  should not have a different code.  It can either be blank or the same customer code
    3)  In OVA7, for your item category, you should have activated for credit check
    4)  In OVFL, check what credit control area is assigned to your sales area
    5)  In XD02 for that customer code (Payer) check which credit control area is assigned
    thanks

  • Credit Management with advance payment

    Hi,
We have credit management scenario with advance payment.
In most cases the customer pays an advance. This advance may / may not be against a specific Sales order. At the time of checking the Credit limit, the system has to check the customer advance account as well.
We have 2 types of products u2013 standard (fast moving products) for which there is a min stock defined. There is also a non standard product for which there is no min stock defined.
When a customer places order for standard products & pays an advance against that, this advance may be used to deliver any product in any sales order for standard items. Hence for standard products advance is not linked to a sales order.
However, in case a client places an order for Non standard product & pays an advance against that order then that advance cannot be used to deliver a standard product.
This is to ensure that if advance is paid for non standard profiles, then advance paid against that should not be used to clear orders for standard products.
This can be administered correctly by locking an advance received to specific sales orders. This can be done at the time of receipt of advance & order confirmation.
If this is possible then please suggest step by step configuration.

    Hi
If the credit limit is specific to only few customers who pays in advance then you can go with dynamic credit check.
Please go through this link which will help you for configuration

  • Credit management business scenarios...........

    Hi Gurus,
Could you please provide few business scenarios (ex: pharma industry) where credit management is implemented in SD point of view. Because i need to prepare document( PPT)  for my client.
If you send that would be reference for me and it would be great full to me
    looking for the good response.
    Thanks
    murthy

    Hi,
Further to info provided by Ram and your query,
Using simple credit check or Dynamic credit check will depened on the requirement the client has.
If they want to consider period horizon to check credit then you can use dynamic check and if not then simple check, etc.
    So its not scenario dependent.
    Hope this helps you,
    Regards,

  • Letter of Credit functionality and Credit Management

    Hi,
we want to use Letter of Credit functionality for exports.
Currently, we have an ERP system that contains the sales data. In a separate system we have the credit management functionality (Financial Supply Chain Mgt - FSCM).
When order is created, the credit limit is checked in the FSCM system (via PI messages).
Now, we want to link some of the Sales orders with Letter of Credit. I believe, this is standard functionality in GTS.
So when Sales Order is created a LOC should be connected to this.
Can the GTS be connected also to FSCM credit management, so credit limit is not affected?
    Example:
Sales Order value: 1 Mio USD
10% down-payment  >   this would be in the credit exposure visible (net exposure).
90 % covered through LOC  > credit exposure should showing this, or it shows order value and in a negative figure this amount deducted so no effect on exposure.
Down-payment has no relation to LOC. When money is received for this the net exposure of the sales order is 0.
partial invoice: 0.4 Mio USD > it should be possible to link this invoice to the LOC. The posting FI document should have some LOC information, so when payment comes in the amount in LOC is reduced as well as in credit management this open.
Final invoice 0.5 USD: as above, all values go out from exposure if there are any.
A second case would be guarantees, where there is no reduction of values. This would stay same.
Anyone who can advise a solution here?
    Thanks + Regards
    Hein

Letter Of Credit can be used as a standard solution of SAP GTS with ERP solution. Yes you can connect both SAP & no SAP systems with GTS, but plugins, PI etc needs to be built in. But it would not be real time like RFC works. There are some standard available which needs to be hard coded to meet specific requirements.
Connecting LOC to Sales Order, invoice etc, is manual, based on business specific parameters and it comes standard with SAP GTS. Maintaining Values & Quantity of LOC based on actual LOC from bank is also possible. The depreciation of values & quantities is also standard with in LOC in GTS.
You can also setup various communication methods for LOC.
I think when Invoice is raised and payment is received the LOC should be closed in the system. There can also be other scenarios where in system determines LOC based on predefined logics for determination strategy put in to the GTS system.
    Cheers,
    Abir

  • Credit Management - Maximum time overdue limit for open item

    Dear all,
I've this scenario to configure for automatic credit control. A customer is billed on Jan 22nd '10 and now the account receiveable shows an open item. This customer is allowed 52 calendar days to make payment for this invoice, hence no credit block yet. As such, the customer can still make orders.
In my existing configuration, I've already enable "static" credit check on "open orders" and "open deliveries". The static check is to check against the customer's credit limit.
So, if I were to add in the earlier mentioned overdue open items check, is it sufficient to just maintain the field "Days oldestItem" with "52" within the automatic credit control screen?
    Thanks.
    Steven

    Hi
The sytstem will shows oldest open items depending on the payment terms from the invoice date.
Once it crosses the days of payment then it will show in oldest open items
if you want to extend some more days for that then you need to maintain the days in "Days oldestitem" the automatic credit control area
Prerequisites for credit management to work in Sales and Distribution:
1.Assign credit control area to company code
2.Maintain the credit limit in FD32 with details of risk category and the credit limit value
3.Do the settings in OVA8 -automatic credit control area with combination of Credit control area/Risk category /credit group.
4.Assign the credit groups to the sales and delivery document types.
5.Maintain the Subtotal 'A' in the pricing procedure against which value the sytem should check the credit limit.
If you have any further clarifications on above let me know
    Regards

  • Credit Management requirement for cash business

    Hi Gurus,
Actually my client business is a cash business, there is no credit concept for the customers.
My requirement is when i create a sales order, system should check the credit balance of the customer(Business receives the payment through cheque and entry is made in f.28 transaction) and should compare with the current document value and if it exceeds, then system should through the error.
And if any open sale orders exists for this customer, system should even consider those values while credit check is happening.
And the exceptions for this requirement is
1.Credit check option should be there only for specific case of customers i,e based on account group of   customers.
2.There are  very few customers(around 5) where they give credit.
Pls guide me, early resposes woould be highly appreaciable.
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Mahendar.

    hello, friend.
you can consider using the payment guarantee scenario in credit management. the customer advance payment could be treated sort of as a financial document or payment card.
as for the selective application of credit controls based on customer group, i believe you do this be configuring risk categories and assigning them to the appropriate credit account master data.
    regards.

  • Credit management requirement

    Hi,
Guys i have the b/m requirement w.r.t. credit management.
i am very confused on the same.
-.The credit period of 45 days from the date of placing the order(i.e sales order) will be admissible to the customers of the company.
-. Customer will be required to issue a post-dated cheque on the due date of payment for 95% value of the order.
& The order will be taken for production by the plant only after post dated cheque for 95% value of the order has been received by the branch and confirmed to Head Office.
-.The balance amount against the supplies received by the BP against the purchase order shall be payable after the receipt of the goods by him. This outstanding amount shall be a part of credit limit.
-.At no given time the total credit exposure (including the value of post dated cheque) against BP shall exceed 50% of the invoice value to him in preceding 90 days.  In case the business partner has already utilized the credit limit agreed for him, the supplies will be made against cash payment only.
-.If any payment is received from BP in less than 45 days, he shall be entitled for credit note @ 1.5% per month.
CAN ANYBODY HELP ME TO MAP THE SCENARIO IN SAP ON THE SAME.
    Rgds

    Hi,
For credit period of 45 days. configure payment terms.
SAP does not have a solution for post dated cheques. However you can use F-49 - Noted Items for post dated cheques. At the end of due date, use F-28 - incoming payments.
For Credit Limit, Configure Credit Management,Refer to this website.
    http://www.sap-img.com/sap-sd/credit-management.htm
In case of cash payment, you can use F-28 or F110, you have to use cash GL Account.
Please let me know if you need more information.
    Assign points if useful.

  • Credit Managament: avoid credit block for down payment invoices

    1) Downpayment - when an order is blocked, can we create a billing
document of the downpayment request created in slaes order. Logically
the customer wants to pay for this downpayment immediately and process
    the order
Notes: If credit management is activated at sales order level and In
Milestone Billing scenario or Project Sales order scenario, at Sales
order level we have a Downpayment (Z0000 - Downpayment) Milestone
usage and Other Milestone invoice Usages.
The business requirement is Customer need to pay the downpayment
invoice before executing the Sales order.
In SAP when the Sales order is blocked for Credit Management, system is
not able to create the Downpayment invoice also. to creat the invoice
we have to release the order first. However we dont want to release the
order but want to receivce the downpayment and then may be we can
manually release the order and process. The reason is suppose we have
an automatic release to production or PR or creation of service order,
we would like to process them only after the downapayment, now for
creating the wownpayment invoice for receiving the downpayment, we have
to release the order which shall further process the order
automatically. Please suggest a solution for the same to avoid the
credit block for the Downpayment invoices.

I think this can be enabled easily.
For the combination of Credit Control Area, Credit Group and Risk Category, you should have enabled the Dynamic/Static credit check, you can configure it such a way that it only gives you a warning message and doesnot block your sales order. This should solve ur problem

  • XI and Credit Management in FSCM 6.0

    Hello,
We have ERP2005 with FSCM and want to use the Credit Commitment interface ( http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_01/helpdata/en/43/2a1c518e5f601fe10000000a422035/frameset.htm ) to pass FI-AR data to SAP Credit Management via XI. The sender is the FI-AR system and the receiver is the SAP Credit Management system Both FI-AR and FSCM are on the same ERP2005 system and XI is on a seperate system.
I have downloaded the XI content for the the intefaces CreditCommitmentNotification_Out and CreditCommitmentNotification_In and set up the configurartion so messages come out of ERP and the determined receiver is the same ERP system but my problem is with the receiver communication channel. The SAP help link referenced above says I should be using the communication channel XIChannel. Can someone help me and tell me what type of communication channel this is and what I have to do set it up please.
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Pete

    Felipe,
Thanks for the info it solved the problem and the interface works now. For future reference in case anyone has the same problem the scenario is as follows
    Sender                  = ERP (FI module)
    Sender interface     = http://sap.com/xi/PI/FIN/Operational/Global
    Sender namespace = CreditCommitmentNotification_Out
    Receiver = ERP (FSCM)
    Receiver interface     = CreditCommitmentNotification_In
    Receiver namespace = http://sap.com/xi/FSCM/Global
No interface mapping is required just set up the receiver determination with receiver determination to use a receiver communication channel of type XI.
    Thanks,

  • Unallocated sales order is out of Credit management

    Dear gurus
On credit management, if inventory is NOT allocated to sales order
(Ex. No inventory at storage location),
warning or error message show up even if the credit amount is
    exceeded the limitation.
After created sales order without inventory allocation, then inventory
is  allocated later,  and error message show up
as delivery, because the credit amount is exceeded the limiation.
What is the concept of SAP behind this logic?
Why SAP doesn't count unallocated sales order to credit management?
    Y.Kaneko

if i understand you correctly, you need to know why an order does not have a allocated stock if it is credit blocked, & why does the order goes back to credit hold when it is released & availbility check is carried out.
from a credit management view, allocation of stock to a blocked order is not followed in business, lets take a logic example if you have 100 qty in stock & u have order for 80 qty from a customer on normal scenario you will have this order confirmed, but since he is on credit block, the confirmation for him will not happen, there is no point in reserving the stock for a credit blocked customer, if at all it happens you may not be able to confirm a new order for 70 qty for a customer who is of cash sale type.
next order going back to credit hold after confirmation : this may be a scenario in material determination, you might have entered say $5 manually for a material & you had saved the document that will be of $5 value, once you release the order ( you will release the value as $5 against the order), now the determined material will have a condition record of $6 & hence will go for a block,( means if the manually entered price is lesser than the condition value) you will have the order going for block again.
let me know if my understanding on your question is right

  • Credit management ECC 6.0 implementation

    Hi Experts/Gurus,
One of our clients have done a technical upgrade from SAP 4.6c to ECC 6.0.
Now they want to know what will be the timeline required for implementation of the Integrated credit management functionality of ECC6.0 in their SAP system if they go on for functional upgrade.
    Now following are my doubts:
    1) How to compare their existing credit management process/Functionality with the new ECC 6.0 integrated credit management functionality?
    2) How to decide upon the timeline required to implement the new credit management functionalityof ECC 6.0?
    Thanks in Advance!

    Hi,
Its depend on your company upgrade strategies, compair 40. credit mgt. functionality & 6.0 functionality.
    then go for upgradre
Heer I some comments on upgrade
    Upgrade Scenarios
Customers who are motivated to upgrade to ECC 6.0 generally pursue at least one of the four key goals just discussed as the primary goal of the upgrade.
    Improved business strategy
    Sustainability
    Operational excellence,
    Lower TCO
SAP takes three major approaches to upgrading, each driven by a different motivation and leading to a different ROI and payback periods.
    u2022 Technical upgrade:
Focuses on risk mitigation and sustainability of the existing SAP solution.
    u2022 Functional upgrade:
Focuses on reducing TCO by reducing system complexity u2013 for example, by returning custom modifications and custom code to SAP standard code
u2022 Upgrade with strategic business improvements:
Considers major reengineering and implementation of new strategic business applications as part of the project scope. These approaches are summarized below.
The three major approaches can be complemented by other compelling changes such as system landscape consolidation, the implementation of shared service center(s), and so forth.
In summary, the more your upgrade decision is driven by business improvement goals, the better your expected ROI. Upgrade experiences and customer statistics confirm that the decision for an SAP software upgrade is usually determined by a mix of business, technology, and strategic criteria.

  • Regarding open items in credit management

    Dear friends
My query is that is it possible to restrict credit management for credit and debit open items? See i am using oldest open item blocking in my scenario. Now credit and debit amounts are both considered as open item for credit management. I want only invoice (Debit entry) for consideration and not his payment(credit entry).
Please advise is it possible or not and if possible where to define that???
    With regards
    Inder

    Hi,
All business have their own credit management needs, SAP allows you to specify your own automatic credit checks based on a variety of criteria. You can also specify at which critical points in the sales and distribution cycle the system carries out these checks.
    SM30 - Table/View
    V_TVTW – Define Distribution Channel
V_TVTA_KKB – Assign sales area to credit control area
V_T014 – FI - Define Credit Control Area
T001CM - FI – Assign Permitted Credit Control Area to company code
OVXG - Set up Sales Areas
    e.g. Sales Organization
Distribution Channel Division Distribution Channel Division
    FD32 - Customer Credit Management
OVAK - Define credit limit check by sales document type
    Check Credit
A – Credit limit check and warning message
B – Credit limit check and error message (no sales order can be created)
C – Credit limit check and delivery block (block delivery if hit credit limit)
Options B and C -> used for checking open order values (when you create/change the sales order)
D – Automatic credit control with open order values
More control in transaction OVA8 - Automatic credit control
You check for open orders and deliveries, or just open deliveries.
or open order values with other options
    Credit group
Allows you to combine different sales document types for the credit limit check
VKM1 - Blocked SD Documents – Finance have to released the delivery block
OVAD - Define credit limit check by delivery order
whether the automatic credit check occurs at the time of delivery creation and/or goods issue
OVA7 - Define credit limit check by item category
Set whether to include/exclude item category for credit limit check
OVA6 - Define credit group. You can groups together different business transactions which should be dealt with in the same manner with regard to the credit check.
You enter the credit groups when you configure the sales document types for credit management and define the (D – automatic credit check).
    SAP default credit groups
01 – credit group for sales order
02 – credit group for delivery
03 – credit group for goods issue
OVA8 - Automatic credit control – Double click on the line items
You can have the followings credit limit check :-
    Static
Depends on the customer total value of open orders, deliveries, billing documents and open items.
    Open items
    No of days open
Overdue open items checks is based on the ratio of open items that are overdue by a certain number of days.
    Max open items %
The customer balance must not exceed a certain percentage.
    Oldest open items
If you don’t want to deliver to the customer at all when even only 1 invoice is overdue.
Tick the Check for Oldest Open Item and Set the field Days oldest item = 1.
    Days oldest item
No of days allowed for overdue or payment terms.
Use of the credit check Oldest Open Item. If a user attempts to alter the order quantity of a released sales document
that was previously blocked, it would be reblocked again by the system. The system only reblocks the sales document if the new order quantity is above a certain % amount.
    Released documents are still unchecked
The preset % is whatever you want to set it as when configuring your automatic credit processing. You enter a deviation % and number of days,eg, you can set it so that an order can be changed by up to 10% within 30 days of original order entry date without it going back on credit block.
    Next Review Date
If a customer has a credit limit of 1000 USD, and you would like to restrict this credit limit only to be available in current month (say March). If the document day is in April then the credit limit is zero.
You can use the “NextReview date” and “Number of days” fields and combined it with the “Last int.review” field in customer credit master “Status” view (FD32).
VOKR - Display of work list for credit management (configure the display variant)

  • Service Interfaces for Credit Management using WS-RM

    Hi,
We are implementing FSCM Credit Management on EHP 5 without using PI. For this we are WS-RM and have configured following service interfaces:
    CreditCommitmentNotification_In
    CreditCommitmentNotification_Out
    CreditWorthinessQuery_In
    CreditWorthinessQuery_Out
However, when we create sales order, credit check is not being perfomed. Do we need any other service interface for implementing Credit Management?

    Hello,
I am using ECC 6 ehp 5 Which Enables you to Implement FSCM services via WS-RM (Web Service Reliable Messaging) instead of having to use Previously PI.
I require to implement the scenario is:
Credit Management (FSCM) and Integration with FICA without requiring PI.
I think I have covered all the technical configuration, but do not know how to test credit management and integration with FI-CA, appreciate if you can do to get a guide.
As indicated by the WSRM configuration guide, run the report SRT_ADMIN_CHECK and the result is:
    Cross-checking system settings
    bgRFC destination is Operational
    bgRFC destination is registered supervisor
    WSRM event handler is activated
    Task is active watcher
Data collector for monitoring is not activated
ICF All nodes are active for SOAP Runtime
    Ending cross-check of system settings
    thank you for your help.
