Criteria Workflow emails - FROM field

Hello,
on criteria workflow steps notification emails can be sent to the users.
Emails are sent from document author (dDocAuthor) in FROM field of the email message.
Is it possible to configure that emails would be sent from sysadmin (or other constant user) but not from dDocAuthor?

Thank you for your reply Frank. I am using Mac OS X Version 10.6.8 with Mail app version 4.5. I just updated all the software and these are the latest versions. So, the question is about Mail app 4.5.
The problem looks the same even after all the updates. When I try to redirect the message, I have empty To field to type in where to send the message and the From field shows a drop down menu with MY email addresses of the configured Mailboxes in my Maill app (these being gmail and hotmail). The original From field is simply not there and is not in pull down menu.

New to blackberry. I would like to know how I can change the "From" field when you send an email from the phone to a name or email address I want it to say.
Here is my email situation:
My email address is ''[email protected]" (which i purchased) and anbody who sends an email to me gets forwarded to my yahoo email account. In yahoo I created an "alias" "[email protected]" so when I send an email, nobody sees my actual yahoo account which I want to keep private. How do I do this?

You couldn't find any solution because there is none given your current configuration.
You're receiving your email from your Yahoo account - not your peronal domain account. It's kind of a security issue for you not to be able to forge an email address on your BlackBerry. In fact, you can't change the FROM address when replying at all on a BlackBerry. You can forward using another email address that's set up on the device, but you can't manually enter a FROM address even when forwarding.
First thing to do is to set up your personal email account through your BIS setup.
Once you've done that, you can either stop forwarding your personal email to your Yahoo account, OR filter your personal email to NOT be forwarded to your device through your Yahoo BIS setup, OR have your personal email filtered on your Yahoo account and delivered to a folder other than the Inbox and it shouldn't be seen by your BIS setup.

Email "from field" is connected to apple id?

Hi,
I have two separate apple id, one for myself and one for my family.
I use the ipad1 and iphone 4 while my family use the ipad2 and the iphone 3.
I authorise the imac to allow my apps to also be available for my family.
I am wondering if this is causing the following problem.
When my family send mails out mail from the ipad2, which is a separate email then my personal email, the mail sent out show that it is from the family account but when you open the email it shows that it is being send from my personal account.
I have checked the mail account settings in the ipad2 and it is setup only for the family account.
Any idea what is wrong?

Problem solved. Under SMTP, other then the primary server, there was also smtp server setup for gmail. Some how that got in the way and causes the sent mail from my family email to use my personal gmail account. After removing that other SMTP servers email, the sent email has the correct From field.

Need to send an email via workflow if a field changes

Hi,
so I have this field called temination date in an infopath 2010 form. When (if) a user changes that field, I need to send an email out to other users, but I can't figure out how to do it, I have tried making another field called temination date before, but
the problem I am having with it is getting it to populate. I should say that the field temination date before was just a regular list field, not an infopath field, not sure if that matters.
any help at all would be greatly appreciated

From your description, here is what I understand.
Your InfoPath form saves to a form library having 2 columns Termination Date [Date and Time data type, promoted from InfoPath Form] and Termination Date Before [Date data type, created on Form library].
On save[submit] of the form, a workflow [created using SharePoint Designer] triggers, with the below logic.
If CurrentItem.Termination Date Before is blank Then assign the Termination Date to Termination Date Before
else send an email Termination Date changed from Termination Date Before to Termination Date, set Termination Date Before to Termination Date
Is the difficulty you are facing is when you assign Termination Date to Termination Date Before?
As Ram suggested, can you try modifying your workflow logic with just as : log to history list CurrentItem.Termination Date, change the termination date and save the form, verify the workflow triggered, verify the correct value logged to the
workflow history list by opening the workflow instance from items workflows?

Hi all of the above work, our question is how to control the RTF (Rich Text Field) look up values to the InfoPath 2010 form in the HTML email?
How to FORMAT the RTF look up value? in the HTML email
EXAMPLE
we have a InfoPath 2010 form published in the SharePoint 2010 custom list library there are 5 RTF fields (Notes1, Notes2, Notes3, Notes4, Notes5) there are other plain text fields, date fields, and other field types in the form
We use a HTML table to make the email look like the InfoPath form, so when the users fill out the form and they get the email notification everything looks the same.
Our problem is the EXTRA LINE SPACE in the RTF look up values
We want to remove any leading spaces, and line spaces between HTML table cells
Our Workflow has the HTML in a Workflow variable, as you know it does not support remote CSS it has to be in-line style for any formatting we want all cells to have
valign="top" the email should align at the top of the cell, all field types do except the RTF look up values they make the email look bad and they contain a lot of white space.
Please test this in your enviroment

there are some notes that perhaps you may check:
Use the same font for all the controls to ensure consistent spacing between rows.
Choose Size from the Format menu, and then choose To Fit from the menu that appears. This adjusts the size of each control, depending on the font set for the data that appears
in the control.
NOTE: The Print Preview and Output To commands use different algorithms for calculating text width; therefore, the text may occupy more or less
space in the RTF file.
Reduce the amount of blank space above and below the report controls. Any vertical
space between the controls is converted to whole lines
in the RTF file. For example, a
space of .02 inches can increase to .1667 inches in the
RTF file.
Make sure controls on the same output row are not too close to each other or overlapping. This can cause the Output To command to omit the controls or to align the columns incorrectly
in the RTF file.
Use the Align command from the Format menu to ensure that a row of controls is aligned properly on the report. If a row of controls is not aligned properly, the Output To command may place the controls
in different rows, causing extra blank
spacein the RTF file.
and please have a check there are updates for exchange 2013 and will be available with the upcoming release of CU4 for Exchange 2013, that stated the format rtf was saved instead HTML. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2862739/en-us

Adding Email Queue Item to Queue from Contact - How can i put the Contact in From Field?

Hi Guys,
A contact completes our webform on our website. The comments box text on the webform goes into a hidden comments box on the contact form which in turn triggers a workflow to create an email message and queue item which adds the email message to a queue for
a response from one of the sales team. I am unable to populate the 'From' field on the email message with the Regarding Contact or Contact details in order for me to be able to just hit reply to answer the query.
Any ideas on how i can acheive this?

Remove ;# from Workflow Email

Hi,
I have a choice column which accepts user input. I then have a workflow which sets a variable for an email using the data from the choice column.
When sending the email the text will be surrouned by ;# (i.e. ;#choice;#)
Is there a way I can remove these symbols from the workflow email?

Hi Ben,
If you are sending the email through SharePoint designer, it seems there is an option when creating the
"Define Workflow Lookup" the "Return field as" has 2 choices "As String" and "Lookup Value (as Text)".
If you use As String then it will append the ;#. If you instead choose
Lookup Value (as Text) then it is only the value.

Cannot set the email from address (reply-to) in SharePoint Designer workflow

I have created several workflows for custom lists. Among other actions, they send out emails. It appears however, that they all use the same from-address. I would like to supply each of these workflows with different reply-to addresses.
Can I do that? After a lot of searching it appears that the only way is to create separate Web Applications, since the reply-to address is set on Web Application level. But that would require several extra web applications in my case, which again need their own site collections and sites.
I really, really miss a "From" field in the SharePoint Designer workflow "Send e-mail" action.

I think it is not possible out of the box. Have a look at the "Send email extended" custom SPD workflow activity (http://www.codeplex.com/SPDActivities ). As per the website "Send email extended - Enhanced version of the OOTB activity. Allow you to specify the sender. Also does not break links in body."

Hide 1/1/0001 from Short Date in Workflow email

Using InfoPath and SharePoint 2010.
I've various date fields on my InfoPath form which can be left blank. These date fields are published to SP successfully as blank (to the human eye).
When I place the date field (short date) in a workflow created email, the date returns in the email as 1/1/1/0001 . This I understand is workflow default behaviour.
Can this value (1/1/0001 be hidden or replaced with a "blank".
I've 6 date fields in this email, any one of them could be blank. Is there an alternative to write multiple email combinations?

i didn't read a lot of your 2nd paragraph, but it seems like the password is the issue, right?
do a true clean install
reboot your machine and hold down command+option+r, you should see a spinning globe - if you don't see the globe or anything that reads internet recovery, shut down and try again
at menu, chose disk utility and once there, find your HD on the left side, select the physical name and erase it as mac journaled
exit disk utlity
at menu, choose install OSX
this time, when it asks for a password just hit continue, it will let you complete without a password
you should be able to get into your laptop, now figure out what password you'll be able to use with your kb issue

From field in shared mailbox displays LegacyexchangeDN instead of person's email address.

We have a situation where a group of users who utilize a shared mailbox are getting a weird issue from time to time. They will take mail from their own mailbox and drag it to the shared mailbox. Sometimes the email show up fine, other times the
from field shows the GUID of the person's mailbox rather than their email address after they move it. See attached pictures. Any idea what would cause this and how I would fix it? It appears this way in everyone's Outlook and OWA.

DisplayName is an Active Directory property which represents the display name of a recipient in an appropriate format to display to the end-user. This is a Unicode property which may contain non-ASCII characters so that a user name may contain DBCS characters.
In your case, you need to create a registry entry on Outlook side.

Why is the "From:" field being changed in Mac Mail. I have multiple gmail accounts setup and it seems to change the "FROM" field even though I've selected which account to use to send the email.

So
I've got multiple gmail accounts setup in Mac Mail.
Somtimes when I send or forward emails, it uses the wrong FROM field even though I'm declaring
specifically which account to use.
This becomes apparent when the person replies to my message and it goes to the wrong account

Check you accounts in Mail and make sure each account has the correct outgoing server address. Check the box to use only that server.
Second, go to the gmail website and in settings under the account tab, make sure you have the correct settings for replying to messages.

How to get my Name in the From Field instead of email address?

For an Exchange Activesync account, how do you get your friendly "Name" to show in the From: field rather than email address ([email protected])?
I seem to be able to do this fro IMAP/POP accounts but not Exchange Activesync.
All the discussions I've found about gmail and Activesync seem to be centered on getting your messages to show a different return email address than your exchange account. I'm not looking for this, just to show the Name.

If you add a contact ("Contacts app>> "+">> enter info) with that email address, it will appear in mail with whatever name you set in the email address' contact.
