SharePoint 2013 Workflow Email Reminder 3 month, 1 month, due date email reminders
Hello,
I am trying to create a list workflow in SharePoint Designer 2013.
Basically, there's a column called "Revision Date" that will trigger the workflow to send a 3 month (before), 1 month (before) and day of email reminder (based on the date entered in the column "Revision Date").
I step up the workflow using stages for the 3 month before, 1 month before and actual revision date.
Example, if I change the item's revision date to today (4/8/2014), it will trigger the last part of the workflow and send an email saying that the Procedure is due today (and logs in the history that "3 Month Reminder NOT Sent" and "1 Month
Reminder NOT Sent").
If I enter the item's revision date as 3 months before (ex. 7/8/2014), it will start the workflow and send an email saying that the Procedure is due in 3 months (and logs in the history "3 Month Reminder Sent" and waits for the 1 month reminder
date to push forward with the rest of the workflow...)
However, if I set the item's revision date to 1 month before (ex. 5/8/2014), it will send the 3 month reminder email then the 1 one reminder email. I can't get it to skip the sending of the 3 month email and use the "Else" is Stage: 3 Month-- <Wait
for 1 month date (Vairable:Date4) then log "3 Month Reminder NOT Sent">.
Any ideas on what I am missing to trigger the Stage: 1 Month without sending Stage: 3 Month first? In case anyone is looking for the same information...
I was able to simply "fix" the workflow by adding a loop and a 30 day pause.
So the workflow will now "pause" until the variable date then send out the email reminder which then then repeat every 30 days until the actual revision date.
Seems to be working in test.
Thanks! -
SharePoint Designer 2013 Workflow not sending e-mails
Hello everyone, it's me again.
I have a problem with my custom workflow. A simple workflow made in SharePoint Designer 2013 with a "Send Mail" action isn't actually sending any e-mails.
I am able to send mails with SharePoint 2013 with out-of-the-box workflows or alerts when sharing a page. The simple workflow is: Send Mail to TestUser after a new item has been created.
1) SMTP server has been configured and tested successfully, I am able to send mails
2) The workflow gets "Completed" status even though I didn't actually receive a mail
3) I double checked User Profiles and the e-mails are correct (I also checked in Active Directory)
4) The User Profile Sync. Service is running and I even did a full sync
5) Out of the box workflows are work perfectly fine
I have no explanation why custom workflows won't send a mail. I can perform other actions like "change workflow status".
Any help please?Hi Ali,
Please check if "send mail" action does not work in both SharePoint workflow 2010 platform and SharePoint 2013 platform.
Please add the actions "log to history" before and after action "send mail" to check if the send mail action is performed.
And you can also add "pause for a duration" before the "send mail" action, see if it could help.
You may also check if there are some related ULS log.
Thanks

Dynamics CRM 2013 : Designing email for marketing
Dear all,
Can anyone guide me how to create/design email to be sent for marketing purposes?
Any help/guide will be greatly associated.
Many Thanks & Regards
VinayTaking your questions in turn:
Not sure. Are you certain the warning coincides with when a user downloads an attachment, or could it be from some other action ?
You may have a cached page with an expired token, or maybe the token has been hard-coded into a separate web resource or report
Setting IgnoreTokenCheck will also stop Crm using tokens elsewhere. Tokens are used as a defence against cross-site request forgery attacks. There are 2 schools of thought on this: Either 'cross-site request forgery is only possible if you have other exploits,
e.g. cross-site scripting, in which case you've a bigger problem anyway', or 'you should always defend in depth'
Not that I know of, apart from my answer to 2) above

what is the best way (msdn, books, sites...) to learn the CRM Workflow development ?

I would say that the best way to learn something - start doing something. Firstly
download SDK and recheck samples. After that try to develop something with your own.

Hi All,
I have a scenario in which user has to qualify lead, there is business process which is applied on lead. In business process there are certain fields before going to next state user has to fill that fields. There is target time line for every field like after
filling the first field value if user does not fill the second field value with in 24 HR then a task will be created for that user. Similar process for every field. As per my understanding we can do this by workflow. But workflow there will multiple workflows.
Can any one suggest me best optimized solution for it instead of workflow. Thanks in advance.

priyaiHi,
I would create a lot of child workflows and one master workflow which calls all these child workflows. Also waiting workflows is not a great solution specially if you have many records and users in the system. If the
system is quite big, suggest using batch process for waiting conditions.
Hope this helps.

How to customize SharePoint Foundation 2013 workflow notification emails
We have a SharePoint Foundation 2013 workflow that sends emails when certain criteria are met. We have tried to customize the emails using SharePoint Designer, but the emails that are received are different.
Ho do we configure SharePoint to send the emails formatted as we specified in the workflow?
The emails we receive are all formatted like this:
Subject:
[Company Name Workflow] - [Item] has been assigned to you
Content:
Task assigned by [User Name] on [Date].
To complete this task:
1. Review [Item].
2. Perform the specific activities required for this task.
3. Use the Open this task button to mark the task as completed. (If you cannot update this task, you might not have access to it. Click here to request access.)Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you want to customize SharePoint Foundation 2013 workflow notification emails.
We’ll need to do a few things to replace SharePoint’s default notification with our own. The first thing we need to do is turn off SharePoint’s default notification. On the Workflow Tasks list, go the Advanced Settings and select
No for Send e-mail when ownership is assigned. Then we need to create workflow to send email.
There is an article for your reference, although it is about the SharePoint 2007, it still works for SharePoint 2013.

Dear All,
I have a requirement, where user wants to do some action in the workflow email that goes into user's inbox.
User wants to have the option of yes/no and forcing an action on the basis of that.
How can email from workflow have this type of functionality, please suggest.
Regards,
NeerjaHi Neerja,
I have done this long Back. Customized the program RSWUWFML2 to send the mail with Approve/Reject button with the help of HTML code.
If the user press approv/reject in outlook, called the HTML Mailto option. So it will come like as Reply mail.
If the user press, send button the mail will be routed to SAP inbox - Always to the static SAP user with the details of Approver decision and work item ID.
There is a class and it will be triggered when ever the particular SAP user receives the mail's. Using the class work item ID and approver decision will be extracted and the work item will be completed based on the approver decision.
Thanks,

Hi All,
I'm having issues with the date format within an automated WorkFlow email. For Leads, users in the UK are entering the 'call back date' field as '26/06/2009' and in the email it seems to base this on the server locale appearing as '06/26/2009'. Can we format this within the code?
Thanks
Oli @ InnoveerI have just experienced this and used the following to convert the date to Australian format for my workflow email
%%%Mid([<IndexedDate0>],4,2) + '/' + Left([<IndexedDate0>],2) + Mid([<IndexedDate0>],6,Len([<IndexedDate0>]))%%%
this gives format DD/MM/YYYY
hope this helps, -

Workflow to send email notification to the assigned person using Sharepoint Designer 2013
Hi,
The requirement is whenever the assigned to Field is changed to someone, the assigned to person should get an email notification saying that the item has been assigned to you.
I created a sharepoint designer List Workflow to send an email notification, below are the steps,
1. Log workflow to the workflow history
2. then Wait for Assigned to be not empty
3. then Email currentItem:AssignedTo
4.then stop the workflow
But the thing is whenever any field is changed in the particular item this email triggers, I want to send email only when Assigned to Field is changed and not any other field. how do i write the condition to check only if the assigned to field is changed
or not and and how i trigger the email.
Any help is much appreciated.
Thank you
Smile AlwaysHi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you want to send email via workflow while the assigned to field value changed.
We can create a helper field
which will store the previous value of the Assigned To, then you can compare the current value with previous value of assigned to and send an email accordingly.
I have made a simple workflow demo below, you can refer to it.
I have created a new single line of text type field AssignedPerson in the list, then use the workflow below to achieve your scenario.
More reference:

SharePoint 2013 - SPD Custom Workflow keeps sending multiple emails for a single Task
I have a workflow triggering on List item created only. There are multiple stages in the work flow and in each stage a single task is assigned to a group of people. Currently group is only having one user i.e. my own test user with a valid email address.
Workflow was running fine for first 5 runs but now it keeps sending multiple emails for each task multiple times and runs very slow. I have only single workflow in development server with 24GB RAM.
Enabling the Workflow log in Event viewer does not show any error or warnings. The only clue I see is WorkFlowManager Database table "DebugTrace" having multiple entries showing that WF is trying to send same email multiple times with failed attempts,
but in reality emails are being delivered as well.

I could not get the exact phrase as I don't have direct access to development machine at work.

SharePoint 2013 document library workflow to send emails when document changes
Hi All,
Need a email alerts to setup when documents get change in a SharePoint 2013 document library. Mail should go to all the members in a SharePoint Security group.
Many Thanks
sudesh withanageOut of the box , You cannot set alerts for SharePoint group. You may try -
1- Create a group in active directory, add users to the ADgroup. Add that ADgroup in Sharepoint and configure alert.
2- You can set up a new user and change their email to that of a distribution list, and then assign the alerts to this user.
3- You can create a custom workflow/action or event receiver that will send an email to a distibution list or programmatically traverse the SPGroup's members and send them the notification email, whenever an item is added or changed.
4- You can try this , this was for WSS3 -
http://advancedalert.codeplex.com/
5- you can to use SharePoint Designer and create a workflow that send an email to SharePoint group.
Thanks
