CRM ICWEB "END CALL" tab getting truncated in IE8

Hi,
We have CRM 6.0 (2007) running on IE6 and planning to upgrade the browser to IE8. During testing, found that "EndCall" tab on Identification screen is getting truncated after clicking on it. Upon click the tab moves up into the header area and gets truncated. This problem is happens only on IE8 browser. Also we implemented all IE8 related SAP notes and they did not fix the issue.

Hi,
We seem to be experiencing a similar problem when we upgrade to IE8.
In CIC0 we have an Overview tab with which we can view information from the SAP ISU system.
The tab consists of 2 html frames, but the top frame now only shows the html code instead of the html page itself.
When I copy and paste the html in a separete file to open it in IE8.
IE8 shows the page the way CIC0 should which means there's nothing wrong with the HTML code.
Our GUI 640 has been upgraded to 720 and we tried the compatibility mode and lower security settings in IE8.
We also installed all the SAP notes related to the IE8 issues.
But nothing seems to work.

R3 to CRM direction - BDOC - Email address getting truncated on BP

Hi,
Customer details are being tranferred to CRM from R3 using BDOC.While doing so the Email address field is getting truncated to 40 Chars (if it is more than 40). This only happens when the Customer is changed in R3 and then BDOC is sent to CRM (change in Email ID) , But when the customer is sent to CRM for the first time (new customer created), the Email ID is getting populated properly (no truncation).
Can you please help me in the issue.

Skype End Call buttons fails, logging fixes?

So, I was originally using Skype, wanted to call my friend today.
I tried to call him, only for him to im me saying he couldn't chat. I tried to end the call.....
Only for the call not to end, ever. Alt and page down, Right click and end call, tab and spam enter over end call button, nothing worked!
So, i reloaded skype after ending skype exe by taskmanage.. Same issue occurs with another friend. It repeats, multiple times. The only time it stops, is after i restart my computer, and only for 10 seconds.
So, I get the logging tool, run it to try and track the source of the issues, run skype, and try to call a friend.....
I was able to succesfully end the call that time, and other times after that.
Question: Why? Was it because the logger fixed a skype registry or something? or was it because of something else entirely? I would show logs, but it would probably show nothing out of the ordinary!

Try to reset all Skype settings.
Quit Skype or use Windows Task Manager to kill any Skype.exe process. Go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %appdata% and then press Enter or click the OK button. The Windows File Explorer will pop up. There locate a folder named “Skype”. Rename this folder to something different, e.g. Skype_old.
Next go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %temp%\skype and then press Enter or click the OK button. Delete the DbTemp folder.
Restart Skype.
N.B. If needed, you will still be able to re-establish your call and chat history. All data is still saved in the Skype_old folder.

Problem in SAP Script - Paragraph AS - Chars getting truncated at end of

Output for one of script is not getting printed correctly.
When i see output of Script, text is printing beyond the end of line and last few characters are getting truncated.
For ex:

For instance it was suppossed to show Purchase order in second line. But half of letter is truncated.
I want Purchase order to be printed on 3rd line automatically is enough space is not available on second line.
Please provide some useful solution for this

if you want to print purchase order on next line do it like this...
Ex,
&var1& &var2& &var3&
Purchase Order &P_ORDER&.
Here, variable 1, 2 & 3 will be displayed in line 1 and purchase order will be displayed in line 2... now if you think data of variable 1 2 and 3 are getting truncated.. use tab spaces between this variables...define tab spaces in your paragraph format.
Ex:
&var1&,, &var2&,, &var3&
Note: if you think variable is too long use offset...
Ex: &var1(20)&

I have taken the phone to the service outles but the best they did was to reboot the phone it works fine for a day or two but again the same issue.

I'm glad to hear that they replaced your phone. Any experience I have had with Apple customer service and/or Genius bar has been extremely positive. While I have had positive outcomes from trouble with other phones in the past, they are not as quick and friendly. I had a Motorola phone and a Samsung phone go bad several years ago and warranty work through AT&T required that I wait for a replacement unit and then mail back the original unit to keep from being charged for the device. This usually meant almost a week without a phone. Nice to walk into Apple and walk out with a replacement device. Enjoy your phone.

Since you didn't provide our specific model, I can only give a general answer. Yes, there is a setting to determine what happens when the flip is closed (or opened) and what actions will hang up a call. Go into your settings, call settings, and explore till you find one for ending a call.
If you still can't find it, post back with your specific phone model and I can probably give you more specific instructions.

4:3 video gets truncated on TV

Hi All
I have recently encoded a 4:3 video using iDVD. I have selected the 4:3 option in iDVD. Much to my surprise, I realized that the sides of the video gets truncated during playback on a TV. I have checked the TV setting is at 4:3 too.
What puzzles me was that playback on a PC was absolutely fine!
Anyone has a means of resolving ?

The audio from the movie clips was the problem. The audio seemed to slip behind the video each transition. I was combining 15 video podcasts to try and work round the lack of a playall feature.
I wanted to select the transition time to zero but could not find this option. The manual button did not seem to allow this? I played around with a few settings, different transitions different intervals but the problem always showed when looking at the final burnt DVD on a standalone player. Frustrating.
I ended up having to go back to imovie and find out that combining projects is also impossible, so had to export each podcast in turn and then recombine in a new project. Very very tedious so if you have any other ideas then let me know.
I'm steadily converting to DVDSP and FCP as imovie/idvd although easy to use are actually quite disappointing in the long run. I wouldn't have minded if they had called it 'imovie lite' or 'imovie basic'. I might have picked up the warning that 'they' actually wanted me to spend more money. Of course I will reevaluate that thought if someone can explain why technically this is difficult/impossible ro acheive but lack of a play all function in iDVD and/or combining projects in iMovie seems a obvious omission. I was not annoyed that the import movies to slideshow workaround in iDVD did not work as it wasn't really intended to do this. Just a bit irritated as it worked fine in preview mode and only became apparent in the final burnt version

Data getting truncated while exporting report to a text file in crystal 10?

I am using crystal 10.When exporting report to a text file ,a dialog prompts asking for Character perinch with a default value 9.If I change the value from 9 to 16 i am getting the correct data(that means character per inch value is 16) and it update "CharPerInch" value in registry under following location to 16.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Crystal Decisions\10.0\Crystal Reports\Export\Text
The dialog asked for character per inch also has option to select not to prompt again and i also selected that in first go.
When i export the report again in text format it didn't prompt for number of character per inch but the data gets truncated.
What i believe is even though it updates entry in registry and reads, it is not using the same value for export. It never consider the value that is in registry, if the check box is not selected then it is using the value entered in the dialog and if the check box is selected then in the next run it uses the default value as 9.
Can anyone suggest me how to override this problem ? Is there any other setting place in registry where i can enter the number of character per inch.I don't want to crystal to prompt always for character per inch.

The other option to avoid truncation of the data could be
Right click the text filed
Click on Format Text to open the Format Editor
On Common tab check the text box for Can Grow.
This will prevent the data from truncating in preview as well as while exporting to text.
Otherwise you will have to set the characters per inch to 16 each time. I donu2019t see changing the registry value causing any difference here.

Okay here is the general concept for your scenario:
-You will call standard/custom RFC's(could be BAPI's) in the CRM system from the existing application.
-You will need to write a new model layer in your ASP application that calls the RFC layer in CRM
-You decide what data you want to use from CRM in your application
Let's assume at minimum you will want to use the product master, business partner master, and business transactions. You will need RFC's/BAPI's for every interaction point where you will consume/publish data to CRM.
So when an user creates an order from your e-commerce site, you will need to support saving an order in CRM. This is example of how you need to map out each function in your existing site to a part of the CRM system. Since we don't know what your site currently does, this is something you would have to do.
Once you have mapped out the business level data to the CRM system, then you can evaluate where you will need a BAPI and/or RFC call. Once that is done, then you can look at the CRM system and see what standard pieces can be called. Then everything else is custom development. Your ASP application will call CRM via RFC.
It is possible to do what you want to do, but it is going to require a lot mapping work and a fair amount of development effort to integrate the two pieces. I don't know if you might be better off looking at the SAP Internet Sales Solution instead so you could focus only customizing that application, instead of worrying about an integration problem. It just depends on how much special functionality your existing e-commerce site has today.
My general recommendation would be for you to hire a consultant that has done an SAP e-commerce project using SAP CRM in the past and let them guide you on the implementation issues. An on-site resource could better answer your "high-level" questions.
However if you have more questions please ask and I will try to answer to the best of my knowledge.

Validity end date tab is suppressed in scheduling agreement

There is no layout is assigned to the doc type & standart transaction varient is acitve , but while doing ME31L above field is not coming ( it is in suppressed / hide mode )
Please let me how to get that validity date tab in scheduling agreement.

Go to SPRO > IMG > MM > Purchasing > Purchase Order > Define Screen Layout > NBF > Administrative data, header > make the fiels Validity Period field optional / Required.

New Field value not displayed in "My own activities" of CRM 5.0 Own tab

Hi.
I have a scenario where in we have added a new field to "My open activities" in CRM 5.0 Own tab.
However the value of the field for various transactions is getting displayed only for one particular user and not for all the users.
what may be the reason for this?!!!!!!
The only user who is getting the output properly, the user ID of his was replication based on similar roles to check whether it was issue related with roles. But the output was not obtained even with the replicated user ID.
Hence the output continues to come only for one particular user in all the systems.
Kindly request to provide some inputs / suggestions at the earliest.

ALV Header getting truncated in excel

I am using the GRid Layout. but when i am downloading the output in the Excel sheet, the headers are getting truncated.
I have tried increasing the width in the FIELDCAT and also removing the coulmn-optimze option in the layout also. but still after trying the headers are getitng truncated.
Any pointers how can i download without the headers getting truncated.

When in phone mode black screen and no option to "end call" power dwn req

ok so heres my problem after i updated to 4.0.2 now when i use the "phone" to make recieve call screen goes blank and i loose the option to "end call" then to get outta call i have to press power button and home button to reset i hav already went to itunes and rebooted my phone hoping that would fix it but nope its still jacked up anyone can help?? any ideas

in phone mode, I face the same problem. I call and then I have to enter a series of numbers to make an international call, but the screen goes blank completely
This is little bit weird. I am using iphone 3gs; works with other functions, but for the phone. The phone becomes completely useless after I make any call.
Good that it is still in the 30 day trial period; plan to return it.
