Crosstab or Crosstabs with different date ranges not lining up.

I have a crosstab with a dimension (item) in the vertical axis, and different date ranges on the Horizontal (top) axis.
I want to display counts of a measure over specific ranges of time. For instance, count of items sold for weeks 1,2,3,4, horizontally, then count of items sold for months 1,2,3,4 horizontally, next to each other.
Problem is that count rows by item do not line up. Count by week has fewer items, so it has fewer rows than the counts by month. I need it to have the same number of rows, and just show 0 or blank in that row, instead of just not being there. I need all rows to line up by item.
Its like there needs to be an outer join, but I haven't been able to make it work. What am I missing?
Does that make sense?

You are looking to display a grid with a high degree of consistency, regardless of the data present. There is no "single" step capability provided by WebI to achieve this, so it requires creativity on your part. A second data provider (DP) for your report is necessary and can be either a view in your database, a custom SQL, or some folks have even built a derived table in their universe to accommodate. At any rate, there are one of two ways to achieve. If you are familar with SQL and the "union" statement, you would run the basic SQL, then via union, dummy up a second query that has all the requisite columns, but for the measures you would use a value of zero so as not to affect the generated facts. For example, suppose you had a report for a hardware store, and you wanted to track the following items: Nails, Flashlights, and Screws. Your basic query might look like this:
select item,sum(inventory) from inventory_table where item in ('nail','flashlight','screw') group by item
Then your next portion of code:
union select 'Nail',0 union select 'Flashlight',0 union select 'Screw',0
See how the union is providing "dummy" info? To do this in WebI with a second DP, you would not use union, but a separate view perhaps, then in WebI apply Merge Dimensions on the item column (and the equivalent of an outer join).

You should transfer any purchases from iphone regularly: File>Transfer Purchases , if they fail to be transferred when you sync.
You buy one and only one download. It is your responsibility to move/copy/backup your purchases.

I have multiple itunes libraries in my itunes folder with different dates. how did this happen?

im trying to figure out why songs randomly disappear from my actual itunes. when i check the itunes folder on the drive, there are several versions with different dates. I didnt intentionally create these multiple libraries and i dont know how to open them to look for missing music

How to go about multiple inclination with different data selection in Delta

We have to copy large amount of data ( more than 42lak of recodes) selectivly from on ODS to other ODS. in delata load ( BW 3.5 enverioment)
I thought of loading data in slices through delta loading with selection condition.
step 1> Do The initialization with selection condition as for calyear =2001 ( Init without data transfer )
step 2> Take the delta load .. it will take all delta record with same selection
step 3> Now I want to do Initialization with selection condition as for calyear =2002
step 4> take the delta now it will take delta for year 2001 and 2002 both Right ?
Here what problem I am facing.. while doing 2nd time initialization it prompt me to delete the last initialization request form scheduler menu.
if i delete the last request .. will it take the delta for previous initialization selection and new initialization selection. ?

You are correct with this scenario normally. The message you mentioned normally comes up when you open a infopackage and don't change the selection first or in case you have overlapping selections with an already done init.

Crosstab Columns Need to be two different date ranges

I'm fairly new to CR and don't know crystal or basic syntax or any coding really.
Using the crosstab expert, I need two columns that are based on a range of dates. Unfortunately the range of dates are not any of the choices I have when I just bring the date into that column box in the expert.
My two columns:
Column 1 = 11/01/2007 12:00:00:00 AM to 10/31/2008 12:00:00:00 AM
Column 2 = 11/01/2008 12:00:00:00 AM to 10/31/2009 12:00:00:00 AM
When I insert a crosstab and use the expert I have two choices for the columns box. I can either create two new formulas or use the group options. I've tried my very inexperienced hand at creating some formulas with laughable results. The group options, although lovely, don't meet my very specific date needs.
Anyone out there have the time to help me? It would be much appreciated.

Try creating a formula similar to the following;
if in datetime(2007,11,1,12,00,00) to datetime(/2008,10,31,12,00,00)
then "11-2007 to 10-2008"
else if in datetime(2008,11,1,12,00,00) to datetime(/2009,10,31,12,00,00)
then "11-2008 to 10-2009"
and use this formula as the column field in the crosstab.

Using a sparse lookup with a date range?

I have created a table (Benchmark_Lookup) that contains the following columns:
start_date, end_date, section, benchmark
I then have numerous logical tables (Eg Business Growth) that will all have a new logical column performing a sparse lookup on the above table to retrieve it's benchmark value.
In the lookup table, I have multiple rows for the same section with different benchmarks differentiated by the date range that they were in effect.
I have worked out how to perform this lookup using the following:
lookup(SPARSE "bla".Benchmark_lookup"."Benchmark" ,0, "bla"."Business_Growth"."section")
Unfortunately, the above is now bringing back duplicates as it's not working out what date range to select from.
I have joined the lookup table (using a physical join) to my Time dimension by saying "business_date >= start_date and business_date <= end_Date" but that doesn't seem to work.
Any ideas?

I understand how the lookup function works but what happens if the lookup table has the following two rows:
EFFECTIVE_FROM     EFFECTIVE_TO     SECTION     SCORE
01/Jan/1900                 30/Jun/2013           test              1
01/Jul/2013                  06/Jun/2079           test              2
I need to use the following lookup rules:
Business_Date >= Effective_From
Business_Date <= Effective_To
Section = 'Test'
The lookup should therefore only ever return one row as the date is used to find the appropriate range.

Same Input name with different data type cause the reflection exception

I have a proxy contains couple RFCs. Two RFCs contain an argument named IN_COMPANY_CODE with data type of ZTRE_FX_BUKRSTable. Another RFC contains the same argument name of IN_COMPANY_CODE but hold different data type (String). All RFCs are in the same proxy. Complie and build the application with no issue.
But when I ran the RFC, it generates the reflection exception below:
Method SAPProxy1.Z_F_Tre_R_Pre_Trade_Fx can not be reflected. --> There was an error reflecting 'In_Company_Code'. > The XML element named 'IN_5fCOMPANY_--5fCODE' from namespace '' references distinct types System.String and MSTRFOREX.ZTRE_FX_BUKRSTable. Use XML attributes to specify another XML name or namespace for the element or types.
I realize the conflict introduced by the same name with difference data type. But I would like to know if this is fixable as a bug or if there is any best practice and/or some manual intervention to make it work.

2 AI channels on one DAQ, with different sensitivity range

This vi is based on the State Machine from "new project" on the splash screen at LV startup.
A while loop is in parallel to the main while loop of the state machine, shown in picture.
It runs continuously until the Exit button is pressed.
The problem seems to be in the ..............start>read>stop..........start>read>stop.......... part along the error line.
The reason for this clunky start/stop arrangement is that the voltages measured are in two different sensitivity ranges.
The shunt voltage is small and needs the -.2 to .2 V range. The load voltage is larger and -10 to 10 V range is good.
In the initialize state, two separate "create channel" vi's were used to specify the voltage range for the physical channel. The corresponding tasks are sent over via local variables.
The DAQmx errors happen randomly, sometimes the first iteration, sometimes the 50th.
I tried disabling one or the other start>read>stop for the shunt or load voltage.
I tried replacing them with DAQ assistant.
I tried various DAQmx vi's: "wait" and "control task with unreserve resource selected".
But error -50103 "specified resource is reserved" keeps popping up.
Is it possible to create two tasks on the same device when they are not used simultaneously?
The only reason is to measure in two voltage ranges.

This has been discussed numerous times. Do NOT use separate tasks. You can use different ranges for different channels with one single task. Just wire the task out of one create channel to the task in of another create channel.
You are also using local variables where they are almost certainly not needed.

Reusing Human Tasks across BPM Processes with different Data Objects

JDeveloper 11.1.1.6, WLS 10.3.6, SOA/BPM 11.1.1.6
I have defined 2 BPM Processes, P1 and P2, which has 2 different Process Data Objects O1 and O2.
But I am reusing the same Human Task in both the processes.
For the Human Task to support the activities in both the processes, I have added O1 and O2 Data Objects in the Human Task Definition.
And hence the ADF Taskflow / page generated out of the Human Task will have both the Data Objects O1 and O2 as payload objects in the Page.
When an instance of Process P1 is created, the payload O1 will have values, but O2 will be null.
And when an instance of Process P2 is created, the payload O2 will have values, but O1 will be null.
It works well like this, but I am a bit concerned about the performance from BPM Process and also ADF page.
In ADF page, let us say, somehow I can control the rendering of the attributes or creation of the iterator bindings based on identifying which process is being executed.
(By setting the iterator binding refresh property in page definition)
In this way attribute bindings for O1 will not be created when P2 is being executed.
But still when the Process instance is created, and when we see the payload structure of the human task in the EM - Audit Trail,
I still see both data objects O1 and O2 are created in the Payload, but O1 will have nulls in process P2.
So my question is, from performance point of view, is it advisable to define different Data Objects in reusable Human tasks ?
Or should I have to define a separate Human Task definition which contains only the Data Objects related to the process it is being called from ?

You are correct in your assessment that the JAG in the current JHeadstart release cannot cope with multiple bc4j packages. There is no work around for this. Upgrading to 9051 will not help.
In the JHeadstart-ADF release, this restriction has been lifted. You can place your EO, VO and AM objects in different packages, and you can group them in a separate project (Model project), while generating your JHeadstart application in a ViewController project.

        The FM HR_99S_INTERVAL_BETWEEN_DATES   is doesn't existing, but there is a fm HR_MX_INTERVAL_BETWEEN_DATES but it returns no of Years & Days.
       But i found some FM which r returns no of months for given date range. but my requirement is, want to display the month no bw 1 to 12. (ex: dat1=15-03-2008 & dat2= 01-06-2008 then in month fields 03,04,05 & 06. ).
Plz help me on this.

Multiple series chart with differing dates

Is there a way to display multiple series on a chart when the
data for the horizontal axis doesn't match up? For example:
if data1 (val, date) is (10, 01/05/2008) (15, 02/08/2008)
(20, 03/01/2008)
and data2 (val, date) is (8, 01/12/2008) (25, 02/10/2008)
(30, 03/14/2008)
how would I get the data to display on a multiple series
chart. Right now, I am using a CategoryAxis for the horizontal
axis. If I do something like this:
hAxis.dataProvider = data1;
hAxis.categoryField = "date";
it will show only the series for data1, but not data2.

That link tells you how to add multiple axis to a chart which
is what I'm doing, but unless you want to have two horizontal axis
on the bottom (which looks terrible) or put one on the top and one
on the bottom (which looks awkward), this solution is not very
good.
The problem is that the data ranges for the horizontal are
the same, but the individual timestamps are slightly different,
sometimes off by only a few hundredths of a second.
To attempt to work around this, I merged the two arrays, but
that seemed to mess up the display of the data.
Is there not a way to just draw the second series on top of
the first without having to lock it to the axis? It seems like the
answer is no when using the standard packages. But is there a way
to override this and get it to draw properly?
