Cryptic filenames of attachments - how to translate them?

i have a problem with the filename of an attachment. In my code i get the name with
String fileName = part.getFileName();
But now i got a mail with the following source:

It's a kind of strange to show a filename like ?iso-8859-1?Q?Software_Qualit=E4tswesen.doc?= in my application..
I don't know if that's the cause, but the correct filename contains german mutations (I hope thats the correct translation for what i mean: ae, oe, ue)
How do i have to handle this?

Those are encoded according to RFC 2047 (which you can read about here if you really want to). I would have thought that JavaMail would implement that RFC, but perhaps it only implements it for headers like subject line. Try upgrading to the latest version of JavaMail.
(The word is "umlaut".)

To the best of my knowledge, there is no way to prevent the automatic downloading of the SD version when you buy an HD show.
You can, if you wish, suggest that the ability to prevent the SD version from downloading through the iTunes feedback page. But since the SD version is needed for use on iPods and there at least at present is no mechanism for someone to download the SD version at a later time should they decide they need it, Apple may just continue to force the downloading of both versions. If they get enough feedback on the issue, though, they may figure something out.

Download and run the free application TinkerTool (not "TinkerTool System"), select the Applications tab, and check the box labeled Don't display contents of attachments inline. Then relaunch Mail.

MPEGstreamclip corrupts m2t files translating them into Quicktime for FCP

Recently purchased and tested the Firestore FS-4. Had no problems whatsoever capturing the clips perfectly as m2t files in the FS-4.
But when I run those m2t files through MPEGstreamclip to translate them into Quicktime files so FCP can read them, the clips get corrupted.
The translated QT files seem speeded-up as though I had been recording through my Sony Z1U at high speed / fast forward speed. Please see the file in question, pay close attention to how the cars go by at top speed in the middle of the clip:

No problems with the m2t files, the problems occur after those files get translated into QT files.
Is MPEG streamclip the problem? Is there any other solution for translating m2t to Quicktime other than MPEGstream clip???

So, I take it QT Pro will not handle m2t files? I just downloaded Streamclip today, and it worked just fine for my application (demux mpeg-2 file). If you are desparate, as you say, you could try SnapzPro by Amborsia Software. (I have no relationship with them--other than being a customer.) You can capture the video going to your monitor and save it in any QT format your system can handle. It only works with certain video cards, so make sure you can use it before you purchase--but I'm pretty sure there's a trial version. So why does this Firestore save in m2t format?

Thanks Bro. I have backup. and I did the same thing twice but only 26 contacts appear on the device. Now again yesterday after your suggestion again I restored the device but the result was same. Then I thought a new thing. I restored the device one more time but after restoring I didn't configure the icloud account. After that I saved these 26 new contacts to my device which also saved in icloud but when I tried to backup on my pc it was not happening. the messege coming device disconnected. 2 days back my stolen device came online. Lost mode was activated by icloud. But what I think in between that time the other fellow must have deleted the phone contacts. And as per icloud also deleted the same. Only the 26 contacts which I saved in these 3 months remained in icloud. Now bro can u help me out? What I should do? I have 26 contacts in icloud and < 500 in my device. Go to settings>messages>send and receive at>you can be reached by iMessages at> Uncheck your phone number and you can select your Apple ID emal address if you want to use that for messages.

It should keep asking for the password, because it's trying to check for purchases... As soon as you login, it will see you have pending downloads and create the downloads section on the left below Purchases under the Store section. Then it will start the music downloads there, as they will be listed one below the other.
You could just try to check your account balance or view your account and that will trigger a password request too. You can just click on that and say that now iTunes keeps asking for the password and ask him to help you with that. Trick would be to interrupt him so that he carries on with another task after, so he doesn't notice the download. Or you carry on with email or browsing which you were "busy" with when iTunes interrupted you for the password (stupid iTunes)

hello, it sounds like the library is damaged.
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

I have an iPad Mini Retina with 128GB of storage. I purchased about a dozen apps and it gets stored in the iCloud and I don't know how to access them on the cloud storage. Plus I have many apps from me itouch that I use and they are also stored on the iCloud.
How can I prevent further apps that I buy from gettting transfer to the iCloud?
How can I download my existing apps that I purchase and that are from my itouch that are stored in the iCloud into my iPad?

You make it sound like apps are disappearing from your iPad and uploading to iCloud. That's not how it works. Maybe somebody (or you) deleted the apps and you don't realize it.
You cannot prevent apps from being stored in iCloud. That is one of the reasons for using iCloud. It will store all of your purchased apps and you will be able to download them if you delete them, or if you buy another device that you want to use the apps on.
If you have apps that are in iCloud, just go to the Purchased Tab in the app store, tap on the Not on this iPad button at the top. Look for any of the apps that you want to download and then tap the cloud icon in order to download them to the iPad. You access your iCloud storage in the purchased tabs of the different stores or in the apps themselves. Any data that is being backed up in iCloud is on the device in the corresponding apps and you don't need to access that data in iCloud. It's at your fingertips already,
Purchased apps do NOT count against your iCloud storage. If you have 60GB of apps, they do not take up the alloted 5GB of free storage that you get. The app data would count against the storage but not the apps themselves.

Downloaded ringtones to microSD card but can't figure out how to use them

I downloaded a bunch of ringtones and I can find them if I go to "Files/ringtones" on my microSD card, but when I try to use one in Settings/sounds/phone ringtone they are not there. I can't figure out how to use them. Can anyone help?? Thanks!

When I go to Music app, the ringtones aren't in the list of artists/songs. They are stored in the ringtones folder so I don't think they would show up in the Music app.

I'm sorry, had you already pointed out the rules which stated that lines from 2 separate accounts were eligible??? I don't see anywhere in the advertisement specifically stating that lines from 2 separate accounts would be eligible, so THAT is not what's advertised, either.
As far as I know Verizon's BOGO offers have ALWAYS been for lines on the same account. Possibly someone could chime in where they have received this offer on 2 separate accounts? The ONLY exception to this was someone getting the offer with 2 eligible lines on their account, reactivating the old phone on one of the lines and then giving one of the new phones to someone on another account.

Aha! I have been doing just that. However, what has been tripping me up is that I am also used to clicking the Go Online/Go Offline toggle button on the top menu bar when I manually check for messages on Cox. Apparently when you take one inbox offline, that button switches to Off even though the other inbox is still online. If I just ignore that button and go on or off via the cox mailbox listing, it keeps comcast from being reactivated.

Edited to add: I removed that dang button from my menu so I can stop clicking it.
