Crystal calling an R/3 RFC

Hi folks,
Can crystal handle internal tables commonly found in R/3 funtion modules/bapis? How do you set it up? They look like fields in Cyrstal with the name T_*. And no data is coming back. How do you loop through the records?

Hi,
open the component / view of your transaction history in BSP_WD_CMPWB.
Within the contextnote search for the attribute where the link shall appear.
You need to do two things.
1. change the GET_P method of this attribute to have a link.
CASE iv_property.
    WHEN if_bsp_wd_model_setter_getter=>fp_fieldtype.
      rv_value = cl_bsp_dlc_view_descriptor=>field_type_event_link.
    WHEN if_bsp_wd_model_setter_getter=>fp_onclick.
      rv_value = 'LINKSELECT'.                                  "#EC NOTEXT

2. Implement an eventhandler LINKSELECT to call your launch transaction.

Is it possible to use SAP JRA instead?
We have a Connector deployed on the WebAS 6.40. From an EJB (Webservice) it is possible to lookup the connector, but if i try to lookup the connector from a custom LoginModule, i get the following error:
Path to object does not exist at java:comp, the whole lookup name is java:comp/env/eis/SAPJRA_CRMDC.#
The whole lookup in LoginModule looks

Crystal report connects to BW RFC by JAVA

Dear experts,
I want to wirte a JAVA program for exporting our reports as PDF files.
Reports are designed in Crystal Report 2008 and data source is connect to SAP BW via RFC.
I have checked all the sample codes and there is no datasource for SAP RFC, all for database like ORACLE.
How to set a JNDI for connecting to SAP BW?
Could anyone have any idea for this issue?

Are you talking about calling RFC functional modules from SAP? If yes you can use POJO-objects as datasource. Attributes of these objects will be fields in report.

Error message when calling a Business Connector RFC destination from SRM

Hello all,
We are facing one problem with data Purchase Order transmission between SRM 5.0 (SRM_SERVER 5.5, extended classic scenario) and Business Connector 4.7.
We made needed customizing in order to have "XML / XI" output medium available in tab 'Company Data' in "Manage Business Partners" web transaction (by updating BBP_USE_AI table in SM30 transaction).
Then, we implemented BAdI definition BBP_EBPXML_OUT_BADI with method PURCHASEORDER in order to change XI system type to Business Connector.
In this way, PO transfer data between SRM and BC is done using BC Module Function BAPI_POEC_XML_SEND (TCP/IP RFC connection was defined for Purchase Order in BBPC_RFCDEST table).
Nevertheless, even if method BBP_PO_SEND_XML is correctly triggered when PO is created with a vendor with XML output medium, we have in the document output log ("Process Purchase Order" web transaction) an error message:
' Error (Unknown Partner and Message Type. Routing Rule created. Sender: SMR Receiver:) when calling RFC destination BC '
where SRM is the SRM log. sys. and BC the Business Connector log. sys.
Our EAI team is working on it, but if you have any idea, your are welcome !

Thank you for your help. However, we abandoned this solution between SRM and Business Connector.
So, we followed instructions indicated in OSS note 883693 - "ECS: PO output determination in R/3".
Nevertheless, in order to restrict this behaviour for specific vendors and purchasing organizations, we added some filters.
It is working fine.
However, when the PO is modified in SRM, then order again, PO is modified in R/3 (by the RFC user from SRM) more than once.
As a consequence, we have as much messages as modifications of the order in R/3 (due to multiple RFC access with the SRM RFC user).
Does anybody have an idea to have only one R/3 output message when the PO is modified in SRM ?
One solution could be to check in the NAST table if the time creation of the last output message is lower than, for example, one minute.
If it is the case, we do not allow R/3 ouput message.
Any suggestions is welcome.

SAP adapter giving the merged result set (First RFC call data + Second RFC call data) for second RFC call

I have a WCF Adapter service to call a SAP RFC. When I call the RFC first time, it gives me correct no of result set but when I call this RFC second time immediately after first call, it gives me merged result set (First Result set + Second Result Set).
e.g. We have a RFC which receives vendor number and blank object of result set as parameter and gives back the list of purchase orders as Response in object of result set for that vendor.
Suppose, we have a vendor "a" and vendor "b". For vendor "a" there are 5 purchase orders and for vendor "b", we have 4 purchase orders in SAP. When I call the WCF adapter service for this RFC for vendor "a",
it gives me 5 purchase orders. Immediately after first call, when I call WCF service for vendor "b", it gives me 9 (5+4) purchase order records which is wrong.
In brief, one RFC call is affected by its previous call.
For each new WCF request, a new object of result set is created, connection is opened, rfc is executed and connection is closed.
Can anybody have any idea on this?

Erratic behavior with multiple calls to the same RFC

Hi,
I am running into a strange problem invoking a custom RFC from a .NET application. I would appreciate it if someone has any insight into it.
The steps to call the RFC are straightforward:
1. Open the connection to SAP server
2. Make the call
3. Close the connection
As you can imagine, the code is also quite simple.
In my simulation program, I have a button on a UI form that one can click and execute the above steps.
The problem I am running into is that, on multiple calls, sometimes the parameter values that show up on the SAP side are not right. When the input parameter (a structure) is viewed in the ABAP debugger, the field values are all getting exchanged. For example, first name field contains values for the last name. Also, some fields that are supposed to have values do not have any.
Just before the RFC call is made, when we look at the structures on the .NET side, the field values are the way they are supposed to be.
I have not been able to establish a pattern. Sometimes, it takes two clicks to reproduce this problem. Sometimes it takes five.
One of the team members thinks that this starts occurring right after one call fails for some valid reasons. However, I am not yet convinced.
Having written many custom .NET applications using RFCs an BAPIs, I am fairly conversant with the technology. However, this one just baffles me. It appears something is getting messed up at the RFC layer itself. Does anyone have any idea on what could be happening?

Indeed this is interesting .
The problem is caused by an incompatible change from .NET Framework 1.1 to 2.0. Howerver, the documentation on the 1.1. API was not clear enough to decide if the incompatible change was adequate or not. Now in detail:
NCo runtime uses the reflection API Type.GetProperties to read and cache all properties of a Proxy structure. NCo assumes that the order of the returned properties is the same on each call and especially that it is the order of the properties as they appear in source code. This was the behavior in .NET 1.1. It has changed in 2.0, see e.g. the internet forum discussion in http://www.thescripts.com/forum/thread455492.html .
Calling Type.GetProperty(<PropertyName>) or Type.SetProperty(<PropertyName>) in your code moves the mentioned properties up in the list returned by Type.GetProperties() later inside of NCo.
We found the following work-arroud:
When using late-binding, call a dummy Type.GetProperties() before any GetProperty or SetProperty.

Finding caller program in a RFC call

Hi experts,
We are having lots of CALL_FUNCTION_NOT_FOUND short dumps in one of our systems. The errors are caused because other systems call a function that does not exist, so the dumps are created.
What we would like to know is what program is doing these calls, since all we can see in the short dump is the caller system and the function it is trying to access, but not the exact program where the call is performed so we can fix the code.

What happened?
The function module "Y_EF_DETERMINE_PICTURE" was called, but cannot be
found in the Function Library.
The current ABAP/4 program "SAPMSSY1 " had to be terminated because
one of the statements could not be executed.
This is probably due to an error in the ABAP/4 program.
What can you do?
Note the actions and input that caused the error.
Inform your SAP system administrator.
You can print out this message by choosing "Print". Transaction ST22
allows you to display and manage termination messages, including keeping
them beyond their normal deletion date.
Error analysis
The program "SAPMSSY1 " contains a CALL FUNCTION statement. The name
of the function module to be called is "Y_EF_DETERMINE_PICTURE".
No function module exists with the name "Y_EF_DETERMINE_PICTURE".
All function modules are stored in the Function Builder (SE37).
Possible reasons:
a) Wrong name specified. Particular attention should be paid
   to upper/lower case and underscores ("_").
or
b) Transport error
c) In the case of an enqueue/dequeue module, the lock object
   may not have been activated (ABAP Dictionary).
How to correct the error
Check the last transports to the R/3 System.
Is the program "SAPMSSY1 " currently being changed?
If an enqueue/dequeue module is involved, is the activation
of the lock object missing in the ABAP/4 Dictionary?
If the error occurred in a non-modified SAP program, you may be
able to find a solution in the SAP note system.
If you have access to the note system yourself, use the following
search criteria:

Should we call a transaction within RFC

Hi,
I have a scenario like this.
There is a portal application where in customers can create inbound delivery.
What I am thinking is portal application will invoke a RFC passing the required data. Within the RFC I can write the BDC code for transaction VL31N to create inbound delivery.
I just wanted to know if this is the correct way to do this.
Should we call a transaction within a RFC ? What are the pros n cons associated with this ?
Is there ne BAPI to create Inbound Delivery (VL31N) ?

There's unfortunately no BAPI available to create an inbound delivery. So considering that, what you're doing is fine.
I did not get what you meant by calling a transaction within an RFC in this context. If you're talking about a Portal application, what's the point in calling the transaction in the RFC ? Or did you mean that you want to use CALL TRANSACTION USING... ?

Calling Batch Input within RFC

1) Does the batch input require that the executing user is a dialog user? If so then the RFC user must be a dialog user as well.
2) Does the RFC user have sufficient authorizations to execute the batch input?

Calling a smartform by RFC

Hi, we have developed a smartform in one system and we want to call to these smartform from another system by RFC, Anybody knows if is possible?
We have tried to copy the function module that smartform create and change the attribute in order will be remote function module but the attributes are reference parameters and say that is not possible.

Hi, I have solved my problem.
My scenario:
We want create a smartform with color lines and color shadow box.
SYSTEM1 46C-> Not possible have color lines and color shadow box.
SYSTEM2 4.7-> More easy develope smart form and is possible have colors.
SOLUTION: 1.Have smartform in SYSTEM2.
2. Call the smartform from system1 to system2.
The key is do a rfm that call to the function module of the smart form.

Calling system of an RFC enabled FM

Is there a way of determining which system is calling an RFC enabled function module.

The correct approach would be for your unique ID from that connecting system to be the only one authorized to call your FM.

Why would one possibly want to do this? I am sure there is a better way...

Call BAPI from from RFC

I need to find a way to connect to a sap system from remote in order to reset/change password for the build-in admin users:
(change: user for himself, reset: by some other user)

Do I need to call BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT for each call of BAPI_USER_CHANGE of only once at the end.

I am trying the following scenario

In SM 59 test connection of AI_RUNTIME_JCOSERVER throws error " Error opening RFC connection"
Do I need to activate any service in SICF and do I need to do any IE configuration (sxmb_adm)

You need to create the following RFC destinations with both transaction SM59 (ABAP) and the Visual Administrator (Java):
●     AI_RUNTIME_JCOSERVER
Points from the Integration Server to the mapping runtime. The program ID corresponds to the entry under JCo RFC provider for the J2EE Engine (used for the mapping runtime, value mapping, and the exchange profile).
●     AI_DIRECTORY_JCOSERVER
Points from the Integration Server to the Integration Builder. The program ID corresponds to the entry under JCo RFC provider for the J2EE Engine (used to refresh the runtime cache).
●     LCRSAPRFC
The RFC destination LCRSAPRFC is required for the connection to the System Landscape Directory (SLD). It is used to read the exchange profile.
●     SAPSLDAPI
The RFC destination SAPSLDAPI is required for the connection to the SLD. It is used by the ABAP API.
Depending on your client settings, it may be necessary to log on to your Integration Server host as SAP system user with the authorization to maintain customizing tables and to release transport orders.
User SAP* or DDIC does not have these authorizations
