Crystal Report in NetWeaver portal via option "Based on BW Report"

Hello,
I have searched the forums and read the blog by Ingo but haven't found a solution, that's why I post this new thread.
We currenctly have the following situation:
We are creating Crystal Reports which are stored on the BW server to have the benefit of being able to transport them from DEV to QA to PROD. The Crystal Reports publisher is in place and works perfectly in all three environments, so we are able to open our Crystal reports via the InfoView Portal, no issues here (we have 3 folders for the 3 systems on 1 BO server).
In our NetWeaver portal, we have the integration kit iview available, and we are able to open our Crystal reports via the option 'Standard BusinessObjects Enterprise Report' by using the ID for the Crystal that we find in the InfoView portal.
However, to benefit from transporting also our portal from DEV to QA to PROD, we would like to use the option 'Based on BW Report' to be able to use the technical id which is used in BW and is the same across the 3 systems (unlike, the Crystal ID on the BO server).
I have tried numerous combinations of parameters in the iView, but keep getting "error 404" when previewing the report based on the BW report id.
Could someone indicate if they have had managed to use this option, and if yes what parameters I should use in the iView?
(system = ? (BW or BO?) / application paramaters: (cms_name = <BO_SERVER> ?)
Thanks a lot!
Tom

>> System is the system that you defined. this is the SAP System that you defined in the portal and then you need to enter the properties for the Crystal Enterprise Server for the SAP system as well.
>> CMS Name is the full qualified host name and port for the CMS server of your BOE System.

  • BW report integration in Portal/PC-UI based on a BP at runtime

    Hello,
we have created a BW report "Customer Overview" and want this report to be called from the Account BSP iView (within the context): The selected Business Partner should be automatically transferred to the report, the BW report should receive the BP ID at runtime.
There is the similar standard overview called "Fact Sheet", but we decided to not use it, but instead our own report. We are on CRM 4.0, Netweaver Portal (EP6.0), BW 3.5 and Business Package for mySAP CRM (not the Business Productivity Pack).
We have tried to use the same method "factsheet" for linking to our BW web template using the button "Fact Sheet" in the Account BSP iView. We created therefor a new iView (based on com.sap.pct.crm.bwreport.BWContainer), filled the required parameter and placed it on our own fact sheet page. The resulting test URL of the new iView looks fine:
    http://[host]:[port]/sap/bw/BEx?cmd=ldoc&sap-language=EN
    &TEMPLATE_ID=TPCRM1001&FILTER_IOBJNM_1=0BPARTNER
The object link from the 'Fact Sheet' button to our fact sheet page works, however the BP id is not passed or the BW template does not process it.
How is the business partner ID transferred at runtime from Account BSP?
What have to be done on the BW report in order to receive / require the parameter FILTER_IOBJNM_1 (i.e. BP ID) and display the overview for this particular customer?
    Further questions:
Is this right way to achieve the display of BW data of a particular business partner?
Is there another way to do this?
Thanks for any information on how to integrate BW report that requires a BP ID in the portal...
    Regards,
    Erik

    Hi Gregor,
thanks for your reference to your very good blog. I have read it and understood that I could write a model access class which build the URL including the correct account ID (i.e. object key) as filter value and then use this class to customize PCUI (i.e. tab or button).
But from the Business Package documentation (p.132) I thought that I could use a "standard" method to achieve BW report integration which requires a business partner ID at runtime. I.e. using the BW Report Wrapper iView (com.sap.pct.crm.bwreport.BWContainer) without writing code. Is my understanding correct?
So I tried to use the standard event ACC_FACT_SHEET and toolbar button FACTSHEET to navigate (object navigation) to my custom created page which included this BW Report Wrapper iView (custom).
My problem is to understand how the event is transferring the object key (by clicking the button 'Fact Sheet') so the BW Wrapper iView can generate the correct URL including the correct parameter 'filter_value'.
When I look into the Event definition of ACC_FACT_SHEET, I see that for 'Field->CRM Object ID' the value OBJECT_KEY is defined. However, the BW wrapper iView is not including the parameter 'filter_value'.
Can anyone tell me if my understanding of the BW Report Wrapper iView is correct, and how it is possible to transfer the object_key of the selected account to it?
    Thanks and kind regards,
    Erik

  • Publish Crystal Reports to SAP NetWeaver Portal

We are trying to publish Crystal Reports to SAP NetWeaver Portal.  So far we found that we always have to save to BusinessObjects Enterprise first, and then we found the ID from Crystal Reports in the InfoView.  After that, we put that ID in our iView using PAR template.  Here are our questions:
    (1) After we save Crystal Reports to BW server, how can we run that report from BW without saving to BusinesObjects Enterprise?
    (2) Can we directly publish Crystal Reports to SAP NetWeaver Portal without saving to BusinessObjects Enterprise first?
Thanks a lot for your answers!
    Paul

Thanks for the answers. From your answer, I believe what you are trying to say is that we need to save Crystal Reports to BusinessObjects Enterprise no matter what. We need to save Crystal Reports to BOE first, and then we need to have BOE in order to run Crsytal Reports.
    >> Yes
Then we can publish our Crystal Reports saved in BOE to iVew in SAP NetWeaver Portal. Wether we save Crytal Reports to BW is not necesary.
    > correct. That is your choice but remember that saving to BW does come with benefits such as an integration into transports.
This also means that we cannot just create Crystal Reports, save it to BW, publish it to SAP NetWeaver Portal, and run it from SAP NetWeaver Portal w/o BOE. Please correct me if I am wrong
    >> correct

  • Web Item Report Error in Portal

    Hi Experts,
I am displaying a Report Designer report through BI portal. When i execute the report, instead of the variable screen, it is throwing the below error:
"Tag "band" with name "detail": Tag "axistupleelement": Attribute "characmembername" is missing"
Can anyone help me in resolving this?
    Thank You.
    Regards,
    Murthy.

    Hi Murthy,
Please check whether you have changed the underlying data provider in the meantime. For static queries you can use the option 'check data provider...' in the menu -> report -> 'check data provider'. Are there any red fields displayed?
    Best regards,

  • Filter Based on other report not working

    Hi Gurus,
    I am using OBIEE 10g.
I have a Dashboard page in that i have a prompt and 2 reports,(A, B reports). Report B is using the same columns as prompt where as report A not.
Report A has columns which hold the same data as report B, so i thougt to pass the values based on Report B column using the filter based on other report. I am able to complete it succssfuly but Report A is not having amount of data that i was excepting. When i started investigating i found out that the column which i am using in the prompt and report B have values ( NEW, OLD, NULL) report A able to take the values NEW and OLD but the NULL values are not passing to report A. In report B it is taking null value as it has filter as prompted.
Is it any way to have the values (NEW, OLD, NULL) in report A?
    Thanks in Advance.
    Regards
    Ali

    Hi Deep,
Thanks for taking time to answer my question.
I have to display null. If i Mask with something then i dont get proper data in report A, couse in the table it is null.
    Thanks

  • Report showing labor and machine time based on standard cost estimate

    Hi Friends,
Ours is an Manufacturing organisation & we have a requirement of report showing machine and labor time as per part wise & cost center wise. We need to run the report before saving standard cost estimate [CK11N]  in order to see the part wise or cost center wise discrepancies in machine and labor time. If any one could help in creating such report in SAP  it will be of great help.
    Regards,
    Varsha

    Hi Varsha,
you can jump from CK11N to a own report by
Menu Function 'Costs -> User Exit Display'
         Cost Report 1 / 2 / 3
The own report can be implemented via (SMOD) enhancement SAPLXCKA
The report will be handed over the currently displayed in the program interface.
some example coding is provided for the exit.
    compare SAP Note No. 71146

  • Run a Crystal Report published on BW from SAP NetWeaver Portal without BOE

    Hi all,
We need to create a report using Crystal Reports, save it to BW, publish it to SAP NetWeaver Portal, and run it from SAP NetWeaver Portal. We do not want to use BOE here.
Currently, we are able to save the report on BW.
With Xcelsius, we have seen that we can directly refer to the dashboard's technical name from SAP NetWeaver Portal. Is similar thing possible using Crystal Reports? If yes, how this can be achieved?

  • SAP NetWeaver Portal Crystal Reports PDF Export Problem

    Hallo all,
We are working with BO Edge XI 3.1 with integration on SAP Netweaver Portal. The problem is that integrated in SAP Portal CR reports cannot be exported to PDF or printed out.
I am using an URL iview with the parameter sOutputFormat=P to run the report.
When I want to print out the report I get the warning message from Internet Explorer "The download of files from this page is for security reasons blocked. Click here..." --> Download the file. By clicking on the u201CDownload this fileu201D the report starts to run again. PDF export doesnu2019t happen.
Did somebody have the same problem?
    Thanks a lot in advance!

    Hello Ingo,
thanks a lot for Your help. I have already talked to my IT department and they are looking for the solution of this problem, too.
Is there a documentation  about necessary settings in the browser to work with SAP NetWeaver Portal and Crystal reports?
The problem is that on some clients the PDF export is working and on another clients not. The settings of IE seem to be equal.

  • How to print Crystal Report within SAP Portal iView?

    Hi All,
We are using BOEJ XI 3.0 with integration with SAP NetWeaver Portal.  We are having a problem with printing a Crystal Report.
    - We use the SAP iView to run a Crystal Report.
    - Once the report is completed, we want to click on Print to send the report to a printer e.g. default printer.
    - Then a screen pops up and nothing gets printed.
It seems the print control is not being transferred.
Has anyone had this problem and what the resolution is?
    Thanks,
    Garry

    Hi Ingo,
Thank you for your response.  I have just got off the phone with SAP.  I was given two options.
    - Install ActiveX control on user's PC
    - Or set the user preference to use PDF in InfoView.
Both options seem to work.  Now it is the question of security on using ActiveX.  If this is the concern, then one can use the PDF option.
    Hope this helps.

  • Scheduling Crystal report from Infoview portal doesn't show up data

"The crystal report is based on a SAP BI query. The parameters of the report are basically the parameters(SAP variables) of the SAP BI query. When we run the crystal report in the CR Report Designer tool, it runs fine showing all the data correctly. Then we published the crystal report to the Crystal Enterprise Server from the SAP BI system. Through the Infoview portal, the user clicks on the 'Schedule' link for the report and sets the parameters. When the 'Schedule' button is clicked, it runs successfully but no data is seen in the report except for the template. But under the same report, in Infoview portal, if the user selects "View" link, sets the parameters and then clicks the 'Execute' button, it runs successfully showing all correct data.
Dont understand why it works for 'View' link but doesn't work for 'Schedule' link. Is there any setting that needs to be made for this?"
    Thanks in advance,
    Sri

Once you tick the schedule button the History window opens and you should see your instance. Status is usually pending and after a refersh (scheduled for run now) you should get the status running/successfull or failed. What is your status here and what happend if you tick on the instance once you get the status successfull?

  • Error when saving Crystal Report  to SAP BW (via SAP toolbar)

    Dear Experts -
    Our landscape is:
Backend - SAP BW7.4 with Service pack 5
    Crystal Version - Crystal Reports 2013 SP1 Patch 6
    Business Objects - SAP BI 4.1 SP1 Patch 6
I'm trying to save a crystal report to SAP BW via the toolbar option, but the attached error is being returned.
Also, if I try to create a new report from BW, an error is thrown.  'An error occurred while generating a new report template; No error'.
    Any feedback/pointers would be valuable.

I realize this post is a few months old, but did S. B. O. Shell Business One get this issue cleared up by installing the BW transports mentioned in Josh's reply?  I'm interested in knowing whether this was resolved as we are receiving the same error as the one shown in the initial post.

  • SAP Netweaver Portal - Folder structure and report publishing strategy

    Hi gurus,
I'm working on a project in which we are publishing BW reports in SAP Netweaver Portal (prior to this, we were using SAP Bex Browser) organizing it by Department (workset, 2nd lvl of navigation), Business Processes (workset, 3rd lvl of navigation) and "iview types" (transactions, queries, dashboards and so on). On 1st level we have a workset simply called "Reports".
For each PFCG role we have on BW (ABAP Server), we created a portal role and defined which of the higher navigation tiers is visible to users (delta-linking the top level navigation worksets to the portal role and setting visible accordingly) and then we assigned Portal roles to the appropriated Group (PFCG role) so all users that have access to certain PFCG role can have access to the corresponding Portal role.
    For example:
In BW (ABAP) we have a PFCG Role: Sales PMR Analysis - Administrator, which grants access to Sales Infoproviders, queries and data for PMR analysis. The user that have access to it, should be able to see:
    |Reports|
    |Sales Administration|
    v PMR Analysis
      > Web Queries
      > Transactions
      > Dashboards
      > Workbooks
In Portal we create a workset that has: "Reports" and under it, all Departments (Sales Administration, Financial, Services, Human Resources and so on) set as "not visible". We create a Portal role called PMR Analysis and add the Report/Departments workset, set Sales Administration as visible and add worksets/folders named PMR Analysis, Web queries, Transactions, etc, and all the corresponding iviews under it.
If we assign this new Portal role to the Group of the corresponding PFCG role, the user will see exactly as the example from above.
Pros: The users have a clean view of the reports he/she has access.
Cons: The users doesn't have a clear view of what is available in BW so he can request access. There might be some useful report lost in on of the hundreds of BW roles that he doesn't know it exist.
One of the options would be to grant visibility to ALL departments, business processes and iviews in Portal and let PFCG security roles control user access, but that might be confusing to have an overwhelming amount of links, making it hard to find what the user needs, specially during first access. Not to mention possible security breaches.
So, I'd like to know how other consultants are defining this kind of folder structure and report publishing strategy in Portal. Ideally we would like to be able to have:
    - Visibility of all existant reports even those that the user does not have acess (so he can learn that it exist and request access)
    - Clean view of reports, segmented by department and business processes.
    - Possibility to search for reports, even for those that the user does not have access.
I'd appreciate if you guys can share your experience on this.
    Thanks in advance.
    Leandro

Cons: The users doesn't have a clear view of what is available in BW so he can request access. There might be some useful report lost in on of the hundreds of BW roles that he doesn't know it exist
This is not a refutation: your BW developers/consultants should be able to write reports, which points you in case of insufficent backend rights. EP is not designed to be familiar with ABAP security concept and cant take any influence at it.
One of the options would be to grant visibility to ALL departments, business processes and iviews in Portal and let PFCG security roles control user access, but that might be confusing to have an overwhelming amount of links, making it hard to find what the user needs, specially during first access. Not to mention possible security breaches.
    Yes, bad idea.
    - Visibility of all existant reports even those that the user does not have acess (so he can learn that it exist and request access)
As you already wrote on your own, this would be not good
    - Clean view of reports, segmented by department and business processes.
    - Possibility to search for reports, even for those that the user does not have access.
This is not covered by SAP, if you wanna provide that, develop it on your own.
    cheers

I have inherited an issue with a proprietary web based

The Crystal Report contained parameters that were passed to the reports
    via .asp or SQL.
Both the person who wrote the .dll and the source code of

This process worked great until about a month ago.  Now when a report is edited with Crystal

will not launch or launches with out updating the data in the report.
We believe the issue has to do with one of the many

Up to now I have been a report developer, creating the SQL
