Crystal report Parameter binding issue with Liveoffice

Hello,
I have created a Crystal report on top of BW query. In crystal report when parameter is set to null the report gets all data from BW query.
On inserting the same Crystal report to Live office document on binding the parameter i get the data for selected value for parameter but i am not able to set the parameter to null to get all the data from BW queries.

I was able to solve the issue with the below code. I have added a parameter value as <Not Specifed> in paramter.

This code works perfectly fine in crystal report. But when i bind the parameter with excel in Live office it gives me below error.
Parameter has no value.

Crystal report Export/Print issue with Non default websites

Hello ,
I have an issue and its driving me nuts.
My problem i guess with the crystal reports. Might also be with IIS.
We have developed an website on VS2008. This website is configured on IIS 8.5
The server on which iis8.5 runs is a virtual server.
I have configured the website to run as two different virtual directories as mentioned below;
1) To run under default website (servername/virtualdirectory)
2) To run under complete separate website (www.abc.com/virtualdirectory)
if i run crystal report using the servername/virtualdirectory, then the report is rendered fine and i can export the results also to any format and print successfully.
But when i run the crystal report using www.abc.com/virtualdirectory, then the report renders fine but i cannot export the results nor print. Nothing happens when i click the export button.
Any help will be highly appreciated.

In addition to Don's suggestion. Remember that almost any action in the viewer will cause a post back - including clicking on the export button. If the report is not in session, the post back may fail and nothing will happen. See the following code on how to place a report object into a session:

Crystal Report Dynamic connection issue ORA-04043 Database Vendor Code 4043

HI All,
Ii am getting dynamic connection issue with Crystal Report 2008 and Business View Manager, i have Oracle database,
i have done following steps
1 Creating Dynamic Connection (including two connection XDC & YDC)
2. Creating Data Foundation (Common object available in both connection ie. stored procedure)
3. Creating Business View (with selected number of elements in business element, like firsta name, lastname)
I have verified database connectivity from Business view manager, both the connection are working fine bringing different number of rows from two different schemas (different schema but same objects in two schemas)
4. Database connectivity to different database schemas
5. Connectivity from Crystal Report (done the connectivity from the repository to business view )
6. Report Connectivity with first schema shows records
7 Report Connectivity with second schemas shows error
as follows Failed to retrive data from the database & on clicking of detail i get following error

Database Connector Error: 'ORA-04043: object HR.EXCEPTION_REPORT_SUB1_PROC [Database Vendor Code: 4043 ]'
Q first of all i need to know if dynamic connection using business view manager and crystal report technically possible or not, if yes then please let me know the solution, since we did verified with SQL database and ite work with two different database.
Q if not possible then are there any options to resolve dynamic deployment of crystal report over multiple schemas with crystal report 2008
Any help or suggestion will be appriciated, hope some one might have got similar issue

Hi,
When i use same credentials in Tod or sqlplus it works perfect and gives appropriate results. But when i use same credentials using business view manager, the very first connection works but the second connection does not work
Please suggest!

Databases that Crystal Reports 9 can function with

Hi,
We are going to purchase Crystal Reports for the use with a new financial program that we will be purchasing. The financial program that we will purchase allows report customization within the program if using the Crystal Reports 9 engine. For that reason we are going to purchase Crystal Reports 9. Otherwise we would have to create custom reports outside of this program if using a more recent version of Crystal like 2008.
However we need to make sure Crystal Reports will work with our SQL Server 2005 database. I tried to research a bit on Crystal Reports 9 (of which currently I know nothing about) and came across this document when doing a search https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/202ff507-281f-2b10-78b6-b6bce2668d6b.
We also need Crystal 9.0 to work with Paradox and BDE databases. It looks like BDE 5.1 and Paradox 8 & 9 are listed as supported platforms. I also see SQL Server 2000 but do not see SQL Server 2005. Will Crystal Reports 9.0 work with a SQL Server 2005 database and also what are the plans for Crystal Reports 9.0 working with future versions of SQL like 2008?

Does Crystal Report XI R2 comes with Crystal Data Object (CDO)

Hi,
Does anyone knows if installation of crystal reports include Crystal Data Object (CDO) ? From the article(http://www.dataaccess.com/kbasepublic/KBPrint.asp?ArticleID=2183) it seems like it doesn't comes with the standard installation package in Crystal Report XI R2. Please advise. Thanks =)

You need to pick "Crystal Data Objects" from the list of Data Access options offered by Crystal Reports when you are installing it -- that item is not selected by default.
To add that to your machine:
- Open Add/Remove Programs
- Select Crystal Reports 11 and click on the Change button
- Expand the tree under "Data Access"
- Select "Crystal Data Objects" and click on it
- Select it to be installed -- you will probably need your Crystal Reports CD to proceed with the installation.

A data-binding issue with a combo box.

Hi,
Iu2019m having a data-binding issue with a combo box. The field it is bound to is an integer. The valid values in the combo box are 1, 2, and 3. If I add a record when it is set to 1 or 2, the value gets stored correctly. If I add a record when it is set to 3, it is stored as 1. However, I can bring up the record just added on the form, change it to 3, and click u201CUpdateu201D and it is saved correctly as 3. If I change it so that the valid values are 4, 5, and 6, it saves a 1 regardless of what is selected in the combo box. It looks like the combo box is correctly bound for updates but not for adds. The table is a master type UDO. Any ideas? Iu2019m somewhat committed to the field being an integer. I'm using 2007A PL47.

I tried a few things on my own. The result is that I decided that it was not a good idea to use a combo box bound to an integer (numeric) field. I donu2019t think the SDK can handle it. The reason it was an integer field in the first place is that before I changed it to a combo box it was a group of two option buttons. Option buttons use an integer (numeric) field. This worked just fine until I added a third option; the SDK didnu2019t handle the third option correctly when adding records. I thought that using a combo box instead would fix that. I was wrong; the problem remained. So I decided to use a character (alphanumeric) field instead. This works just fine.
So here is my advice: Never use option buttons if they need to be bound to the database; a combo box will actually work better when bound to the database. But use a character (alphanumeric) field.

Crystal Report - Parameter issue (advanced dialog box)

In our wpf .net application we view the crystal report, the report prompts for entering 2 parameter values i.e 2 dates and inturn these parameters will be used to generate the crystal report.
The parameter panel on the left has a button (show advanced dialog box). This button should again invoke the same parameter prompt dialog box, so that the user can modify these parameters and the report can be regenerated.
Issue is that when I click on the the button, this generates a null reference exception in the code. The call stack is -

Please note, I used the .net reflector to debug the crystal report dll , the isDCP method looks like -

I use crystal reports 2008 sp 2 (also note that my gac contains different version of crystal reports (cannot remove them - tried it) , with windows server 2003. I use web service with proxy to get the report from the local server.
Note I also tried to create sample application in which I specify the local path to reports source , this works. However when I tried to use webservice, i was getting soap exception.
Please let me know how solve above issue

So you found the Report Design forum, if you looked down one more you would have found the SDK forum, SDK stands for Software Development Kit if you did not know.
Or did you not mention you get the same error when you run this report in CR Designer, if so then you were in the right forum.
Try Service Pack 3 also
Move to the SDK forums.

Help with Invalid Parameter Binding issue

let me prefix this with the fact that I'm about as ignorant as can be when it comes to oracle so speak slowly and hopefully I'll catch the low hanging fruit.
I've inherited a project that someone else wrote and I'm trying to make the code base work, but I am getting 2 error messages and don't really know where to start to fix it.
My project is using ActiveReports (yea I hate it too) to call a function into a 10g database. It is returning an error saying Invalid Identifier. When I try to run the function in visual studio I get an invalid parameter binding error message and it says parameter name "" (empty quotes, so who knows).

activereports is a report generator for .net
as for why it's written the way it is, I have no idea. Like I said, I didn't write it, I'm only trying to get it to work. There is far too much of it (and I'm far under-skilled) to go back and re-write everything the way it should be.
this function is pretty simple, it takes a start & end date as a string as parameters to the function. it converts those to timestamps and query's an existing table with data for the number of times condition X is true or false with in that date range. This is what the report being generated reports on.
This one was short and simple which is why I posted it. Others are far more complex and do loop, but for the sake of simplicity I posted this one. I get the same error with all the rest and I figure if I can get one working, the rest probably suffer from the same issue so fixing the rest should be fairly straight forward.
as for priv's the user is granted all priv's (that are available when you create a new user in 10g XE's web admin interface), and it won't let me grant/remove priv's from the visual studio addin for myself.

Crystal report parameter issue in SAP B1 8.8

We are facing following issue in Crystal report SAP B1 8.8 version
Can not open crystal report without mentioning optional parameters.
User is forced to mention all parameters
User should allow to open crystal report by mentioning mandetory parameters
if We set for the parameter value of field [Optional Prompt] to 'True' and then preview in SAP Business One, then although the dialogue is displayed, click 'OK' without populating the parameter value, the report is run
but in our case we are passing parameters through Stored Procedure and this option is block in report to do so.
means that option available to make optional true / false is block and we are not able to do anything.
Pls. provide solution

Crystal Report dialog box issues

I am very new at .NET, and this is my second post to this forum.
I've created a Crystal Report within a project using Visual Studio 2005 Professional Edition, on a Windows XP machine.
The report is handled by a CrystalReportViewer, which has its ReportSource set to the report.
Via a dialog box, the report asks for a signon and password for a SQL Server database. Then, via a second dialog box, it prompts for a parameter required by the report.
All of this works ok, but I have two issues:
1) I would like to set the database signon and password so that the user doesn't have to enter them each time he runs the report.
2) If the Cancel button is clicked on any of the dialog boxes, it renders the report unusable until I shut down the application and reopen it.
I have looked online for two days, but have not been able to find a solution to these above problems. It is probably simple, but I'm not seeing it.
I am attaching the relevant code for the button that runs the report.

Crystal Reports xi r2 integrating with vs2005

Hi,
I'm having a problem getting these two integrated and working properly with all the functionality that I need.
I installed vs2005 and then CRXIR2, and now in vs2005 when I have a report open, I have 2 Crystal Report tabs at the top and in each the options are repeated 4 times for each menu item, makes for a very cluttered menu.
Also, when I an existing report to a vb2005 asp project in the property pages/web config it adds 2 assemblies for each items, one for version 10.2.3600 and one for 11.5.3700. Is there a way that I can eliminate this.
And lastly, I use ODBC connections to a database and with the 10.2.3600 assemblies it was disconnecting right away and closing the session after the queries, while the new 11.5.3700 ones do not seem to kill the sessions and fills up the connections until I manually go out and clear them up.
I know thats a lot to deal with, but I'm sure that they are all related.

Hi James,
Microsoft released an update for VS.NET 2005 which broke the integration of Crystal XI R2 with .NET 2005 when applied. Just do an uninstall/reinstall of Crystal XI R2 and that should fix the multiple tab and drop down issue as well as it putting in both 10.2 and 11.5 assemblies.
You should probably create a new thread for the 2nd problem if it persists after the uninstall/reinstall.

Crystal report parameter problem while uploading in sap business one

I designed a crystal report using
stored procedure
and
Routemas user defined table
in sql server with three parameter
routname,from date,to date
these parameters are from storedprocedure only but not created in report
i set the parameter routename as dynamic and i assigned the routename field from routemas table
when i run the report in the parameter window it displays the list of routenames
upto this is k but
when i upload this report in sap business one 8.81 PL-05 and
run this report in sap environment First it asks parameters there
it didnt display the list of routnames
when the parameter routname is set as static and assign some routenames manually
then it shows the list in sap environment
Can any suggest the answer

Hi Rhaul,
i don't exactly know why this is a problem, but if your not on latest (881 p10) then upgrade and try again.
Or as a workaround,
try saveing from CR to SAP with the CR add-on. That usualy works better then the import.

Crystal Reports for Eclipse issues running under Oracle Jdeveloper.

I am having issues trying to get a small application that I developed in eclipse that uses Crystal Reports to work with Oracle's JDeveloper OC4J embedded server. I agree with Rob that it is likely the OutputStream object throwing the error.
