Hi,Using Crystal Report XI.I have a parameter field with Dynamic values that Queries the company field of an SQL Database.I have around 3500 companies in my DB. But when running my report (Using Crystal), only the first 1300 companies are being displayed in my pick list.I need to see the whole 3500 records. Any idea how to fix that?regards

  • Does BOXI support crystal reports with parameter references in formulas?

    I am designing a report in Crystal Reports XI Developer that contains parameters, which are passed to a stored procedure and are also used within formulas ( in Crystal Syntax ie. {?FORMAT_ID} ) in the report itself.
    I can run the report successfully in CRXI Developer.  The formulas use the correct values from the parameters entered during execution and everything looks good.
    I then deploy the report to Business Objects Enterprise XI.  I do all of the things necessary to manage the report including setting up the proper database connection information and default parameter values.
    When I run the report using the Crystal Report Viewer, I get the following error message:
    Error in File Forecasting.rpt:
    Error in formula <Report Format>.
    'if (not isNull({?FORMAT_ID} ) ) then
    This field name is not known.
    Details: errorKind
    This happens when I press the "Preview" button in the Manage Object dialog from Crystal or when I run the report using InfoView.
    I have changed the formulas and it doesn't seem to matter what the specific content of the formula is; other than the existence of a parameter reference in the formula.  If I comment out the parameter and replace it with a hard-coded value, it gets through the formula fine.
    Does Business Objects Enterprise XI support crystal reports with parameter references in the formulas?
    Thanks,
    Tim H.

    Hi,
       In Crystal Reports under File -> Report Options >check convert Null Values to default > Verify on first refresh > Verify stored procedures on first refresh.
    This corrected the issue by allowing the query engine time to locate those columns and map them to the query being sent by the report.
    The convert null values was added because those field were being used in the record selection and grouping.

  • Prompts with dynamic default values

    I have a request from my client to modify several reports so that two date prompts will have default values populated with the first and last day of the previous month.  All of the reports are currently using custom sql so I have to be able get the dynamic default value in the extended @prompt syntax.  However, I am not able to use any of the sql functions since the functions merely appear as plain text as the default value itself.
    I have found a few work arounds to achieve the functionality of the dynamic prompts, but I cannot get the actual default value displayed to the user to be dynamic.  Is it possible to achieve this by using only the custom sql?

  • Report using Parameter Field

    Hi,
    I have designed one report using Parameter Field which is Cost Code (string).
    When I run my report, I ask to enter cost code. When I enter cost code 30, I get report for all transaction of cost code 30 and 300.
    How could I avoid this problem.
    Thanks
    Mithani

    Try with this
    {Project_cost.EXPENSES_Code} IN {?Cost Code}
    and also
    Check the query formed after giving the input parameter. Goto Database --> Show Sql Query.

  • Initializu00EDng select options field with default values and with NO INTERVALS

    Dear All,
    I have used WDR_SELECT_OPTIONS technology within WD Abap.
    I also have added the fields which have to be taken into consideration.
    lt_range_table =
    wd_this->m_handler->create_range_table(
    i_typename = 'PLANT' ).
    wd_this->m_handler->add_selection_field(
    i_id = 'PLANT'
    it_result = lt_range_table
    i_read_only = read_only ).
    Can I assign two values to this field 'PLANT' whereby the user may take only these values.
    I mean kind of pre initializíng of this select options field with default values.
    Due to this handling it should be prevented that the user can give other values
    except this values.
    Additonally it should be fine whether it is possible to disable the second input field
    of this select options field like NO INTERVALS .

  • Crystal Reports Date Parameter Default Value OPtion Empty

    Is there a way to set a default date value for a Date Parameter? It is shown empty, it only allows to set a fixed date, i.e. 10/10/2013. But it doesn´t allow me to use a formula (which has a CurrentDate inside), so I can set, for example, today's date as default.
    How can I achieve this? I´m not using Crystal for Enterprise. I'm using Crystal Reports, the normal version.

    Hi Erika,
    The feature is only available in CR for Enterprise at the moment.
    If you're OK with selecting the currentdate from the dropdown, here's a workaround:
    1) Go to the Database Expert > Click the Connection Name > Select 'Add Command' > Type in a simple sql query that returns today's date. Example for oracle would be:
    Select SYSDATE from DUAL
    2) Don't link this Command Object with other tables on the report
    3) Create a new Parameter > Select 'Dynamic' under 'List of Values' > Under the 'Value' column choose 'SYSDATE' from the command object > Click create parameter > OK

  • Crystal Report - Set Parameter Value - Case sensitive

    Hi,<br><br>
    We are using Crystal report 2008 CR4E API to implement the crystal report in our application. When we use parameter report with different cases, the code is not setting values for all the parameter fields in the report. Kindly help us in achieving the solution.
    <br><br>
    In Report, SQL Command is used and a parameter is passed to the SQL. The name of the parameter is given uppercase but in the SQL Command it is given in lowercase. The report still pass the parameter to the query and it is running fine in designer.
    But in our application it throws the below exception. If the parameters are defined in same case then it works fine.
    <br><br>
    Code:<br><br>
    reportClientDocument = new ReportClientDocument();<br>
    reportClientDocument.setReportAppServer(ReportClientDocument.inprocConnectionString);<br>
    reportClientDocument.open(reportName, OpenReportOptions._openAsReadOnly);<br>
    DatabaseController dbController = reportClientDocument.getDatabaseController();<br>
    Tables tables = dbController.getDatabase().getTables();<br>
    ITable table = tables.getTable(0);<br>
    IProcedure command = (IProcedure)table;<br>
    ParameterFieldController paramController = reportClientDocument.getDataDefController().getParameterFieldController();<br>
    for (int i=0; i< command.getParameters().size(); i++) {<br>

    Hi,
    Can some one please help with the solution

  • Creating Profile type report that hold fields with multiple values

    Really hoping someone can please help me out as I am very new to Crystal Reports.
    We use Maximizer CRM and we have been in need of some custom reports to rule out risk for regulators. I contacted Max and they suggested the only possible way is to create through Crystal. Its been almost one month already and I still cannot for the likes of me get this report operating properly. I have been inside and out on all sorts of forums, posted topics but no luck! So I will give it one more attempt in hopes that one of you geniuses can show me the way.
    In Maximizer CRM there is date, numeric, alphanumric and table. Our table fields items can be set to either single value or multi-value. So in crystal i did a default join of Client.tbl and the user-defined fields from view and joined the client id and contact number from all the view fields to client table. See Image:
    and I have dragged all the relevant fields in rows (in details section) rather then columns because we would be reporting on more then 1 record at a time. My problem is - If there is a table with multiple items selected (values), the records triple in count and it will show the same record over and over with just single field value changing at a time.
    The formula field you see in the image is from when I posted a discussion and Abhilash assisted me by providing the formulas I should add:
    1) Create a formula with this code and place this on the Details Section:
    whileprintingrecords;
    stringvar s := s + {field_with_multiple_values} + ", ";
    2) Next, move all the fields (except the formula field above) from the Details section to the Report Footer
    3) Create a formula with this code and place this on the Report Footer. This field would replace the existing field that contains multiple values:
    whileprintingrecords;
    stringvar s;
    Left(s, len(s)-2);
    This method is not working out for this type of report. When I add the formula Crystal is still counting my 2 records as 5 records but I can only view it as a single record and the multi-field has all the values for both records and displaying as a single record. See image:
    Can anyone please assist and advise where I am going wrong?
    -Jared

    Hi Jared,
    Thanks for taking down memory lane that is Maximizer.  Nice to see their table structure hasn't been simplified in the last 20 years.
    If I understand what's happening, you should only see 2 records and not 5.  That means your joins are creating duplicate records.  For now I'm going to skip over trying to optimize your query because I still have bad dreams of linking Maximizer tables.
    There are a couple of ways to work around the duplicates, one is to create a group and instead of having your formula in the Detail section, put it in the Group Header.  The question is what would you create your group on that would get you a unique record?
    If you know where the duplicates are coming from, create a Record Selection Formula that will remove the duplicates.
    There is also the menu option Database | Select Distinct Records.  I've never really had success with this one but there's no harm in giving it a shot.
    I would have you try and find which table or combination of tables is generating the duplicates but that requires playing with your links.  Normally I'd start by adding one table at a time and dropping one field onto the report.  If it doesn't repeat then add another table and field and repeat until you get your duplicates.  Once you know where they are coming from then you can either drop that table from your query or create a selection formula that removes the duplicates.
    Good luck,
    Brian

  • Crystal Report not Adopting all possible Dropdown Values from BEx Variable

    Hi all,
    I am having an issue in a Crystal report where the drop down parameter that is sourced from a BEx query variable does not include all the possible values in the cube (or in master data). After learning my lesson the first time of not changing the name of the variable or changing it to dynamic (this causes it to break), I had the understanding that the value list may not be complete when running the report in the Crystal client or in the viewer, however, I thought it should be correct when published to the BOE and run in infoview. I am getting the same incomplete list in infoview. I published the report into infoview using the Crystal 2008 desktop client, not the /CRYSTAL/RPTADMIN transaction.
    I know there are a couple ways of sourcing a Crystal report from a BW query - using MDX vs. not, etc. I created this report using the SAP menu > "Create new report from a query". I don't believe Crystal will easily let you use that menu option to create a report off two BW queries joined together (which is what I am doing), so I built it off one originally (using the SAP menu), then added the other later on. I have the checkbox for "Use MDX driver with support for Multiple structures" checked. In database expert, my "Selected Tables" both are of database type "SAP BW Query".
    Do I have the right understanding of how the value list should work when sourced from a BEx variable? If so, can anyone offer any suggestions for getting the value list populated correctly?
    Here's some info:
    Crystal version: CR2008, version 12.2.4.507
    BOE version 3.1
    SAP BW 7.01 EhP 6
    Thanks,
    Chad

    Hi,
    - in the Crystal Reports designer the list of values is not online and there is a maximum number of values - configured by a registry setting:
    (windows 7)
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Business Objects\Suite 12.0\SAP\BWQueryReportWrapper
    Key: MaxPickListSize
    and correct you can not change the name of the variable or set it to dynamic as the definition is based on the BEx query.
    I know there are a couple ways of sourcing a Crystal report from a BW query - using MDX vs. not, etc. I created this report using the SAP menu > "Create new report from a query". The checkbox on the Multi Structure is not for the option to combine 2 Bex queries - it is for Bex queries with 2 structures and the BW query driver has been deprecated already and you have to use the MDX Driver.
    Do I have the right understanding of how the value list should work when sourced from a BEx variable? If so, can anyone offer any suggestions for getting the value list populated correctly?
    in Crystal Reports Designer the list is static and when you publish the report using the BW Publishing to your SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise system the list becomes dynamic in InfoView.

  • Crystal Reports 2008 parameter panel discrepancy.

    Hi,
    I have a report designed using Crystal Reports 2008. The report has a dynamic parameter called Location which is populated from a table. It is a Value - Description pair so it is:
    Value = LocID
    Descripition = LocationName.
    The Show on Viewer(Panel) attribute is set to Editable.
    The Prompt with Description Only attribute is set to true.
    In the Crystal Reports stand-alone Designer everything works fine. It prompts with the Description. After making a selection, the Parameter Panel shows the selected items(the Description, NOT the value) correctly. This is the desired behavior.
    But  when the report is viewed in the Crystal Reports Viewer that comes with .NET 2008 the Parameter panel shows the Value, which is LocID and not the description which is LocationName. This is NOT very useful.
    I have tried other third party Crystal Reports viewers as well. They all exhbit the same discrepancy.
    How can this be resolved?
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    - Rajan.

  • Strange problem crystal report & used-defined field

    I've a user-defined field in the table OCLG
    this field is alphanumeric linked to a user-defined table
    I've read this field in crystal report
    (at the moment is enough the code)
    when I do the preview in crystal report there is not problem
    but when I do the preview in SAP B1 I don't see any value
    what could it be the cause?
    thanks

    I created it with the follow tool:
    "Tools\Customisation Tools\User-Defined Fields-Management"
    These are the field characteristics:
    type: alphanumeric
    lenght: 50
    structure: regular
    set linked table: <a user-defined table>
    I also did the test to create a rpt with the only table OCLG and 2 field
    - ClgCode
    - U_Incaricato
    the problem remains the same

  • Crystal Reports 2008 parameter panel

    Hello,
    I'm using Crystal Reports 2008 stand-alone application to design reports. I'm wondering is there a possibility to change information display on parameter panel?
    The problem is that I've created a parameter with option "prompt with description only" set to true. This parameter has value and description. When it's prompting for parameter everything goes fine, it prompts with description only, but in parameter panel it's only values (not descriptions) displayed. This is confusing for report users as the value is key (int type) and description is name (string that actually says something to user).
    Maybe there is something to be set in Crystal Reports Viewer component properties?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello Gemi,
    I recommend to post this query to the [Crystal Reports Design|SAP Crystal Reports; forum.
    This forum is dedicated to topics related to the creation and design of Crystal Report documents. This includes topics such as database connectivity, parameters and parameter prompting, report formulas, record selection formulas, charting, sorting, grouping, totaling, printing, and exporting but also installation and registering.
    It is monitored by qualified technicians and you will get a faster response there.
    Also, all Crystal Reports Design queries remain in one place and thus can be easily searched in one place.
    Best regards,
    Falk
