Crystal Reports 11 - How to use group in footer

hello
i have a recordset of multiple branches and that is grouped by customer already. a customer can buy goods from multiple branches so it is summery of customers with their goods. and i need the summery of branches with detail like i have attached an image
in this image it is the record of one customer with 4 goods which are from 2 branches and in footer it is summery of both branches. i'm having issue here while m showing summery of both branches.so how can i show this summary and it is not sure always that there is only 2 branches. it can be 1 or many.
i'm using Crystal Report 11

Hi Amit,
Use a subreport to show the branch wise summary. Here's a bird's eye view of what you might have to do:
1) Insert a Subreport pointing to the same table on the Group Header
2) Right-click the Subreport > Change subreport links > Move the CustomerID or any field that uniquely identifies each customer to the Pane on the right > From the dropdown at the bottom right that reads 'Select data in Subreport based on field', choose the same field. This will link the customer fields from both the datasources.
3) Inside the Subreport, create a group on the Branch Field and place all the required summary fields etc
4) Suppress unwanted sections in the Subreport > Right-click the Subreport > Format Subreport > Uncheck 'Keep Object Together'.

Unable to print crystal report over web using ActiveX Control

We have a problem with printing crystal report over web using ActiveX Control. When clicking print button, it only shows a blank dialog web crystal viewer page without any error. The page just simply hangs. We installed the PrintControl DLL and enable all the security setting for ActiveX Control for IE. It still does not print. Does anyone know why?
Environment.
Bundle Crystal Report v10
Asp.net 2.0
IE 6.0 or higher.
Appreciate for your help.

When Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) is enabled, using the ActiveX control to print reports from a Crystal 10 DHTML viewer results in the following error message:
"A communication error occurred, printing will be stopped."
How can this error message be resolved?
Resolution
This is a known issue with Crystal Reports 10 and Crystal Enterprise 10 viewers and has been tracked. The Track ID is ADAPT00282199.
This error occurs due to the receiving application performing a case-sensitive check for the HTTPS request header value "ON". When a sender application sends the value as "on" in lower case, the error occurs. The update below changes the receiving application to be case-insensitive.
Hot Fixes or Service Packs address this issue as indicated below. With the updates, this issue is resolved.
Unless indicated otherwise, Weekly Hot Fix updates from our FTP site have only been tested with English versions of products.
For Crystal Reports 10 and Crystal Enterprise 10, the update for this issue is included in the Crystal 10 Viewers Weekly Hot Fix (WHF). This is available in English only at the following location:

Hello Experts!
I'm using VS2003 with Crystal Reports for VS2003.
I need to show a popup window clicking a hyperlink text object on my crystal report.
On the CrystalReportViewer I have set up HyperlinkTarget=_blank, and it's working fine.
But when I click on the hyperlink and shows the popup window, how can I show the popup window without menubar, toolbar, directories, etc.
Something like:

Adam is correct. The closest you can get is setting the CrystalReportViewers HyperlinkTarget to _blank. It was seen as a potential security vulnerability to allow you to run scripts from a Crystal Reports. In our Enterprise product you can use a reg key called EncodeHTMLForSingleLineFieldObjects to control whether this can be turned on or off.
Unfortunately this was never ported over to our .NET CrystalReportViewer.

Crystal report from JSP using the JRC

Hi, I am trying to call crystal report from JSP using the JRC.
But i am getting the Error as 'Logon Failed'. my web.xml entry is

I never really had much luck with this approach.
Mind you I was using Crystal Reports 10, and as far as I recall it didn't allow setting/changing of database at this level.
Things to check
- can you create a database connection on your page with this URL/username/password?
- what server are you using? Tomcat? WebLogic?
I found this in your other post:
Connection Information: {Server Name=ee6rpt, Connection String=DSN=s(ee6rpt);User ID=s(ee62test);Password=;UseDSNProperties=b(false), Database Name=, Database DLL=crdb_odbc.dll}That would indicate it is using odbc to connect to the database (crdb_odbc.dll). ODBC is a bad idea with java.
The way I have got it to work for me (after much trial and error) was to in Crystal Reports to connect using the Oracle Driver, and specifying a tnsname - eg define REPORT_DS in tnsnames.ora.
When running through the JRC, it looked for a JNDI datasource under that same name "REPORT_DS".
Don't know if that will help you or not.

How to use "group" in iTunes?

When I look in Edit > Preferences > General tab I find that the Libray name is still one of the old ones
Then you are not opening a new library.
If I rename to the library name it should be it still puts files in the wrong place.
You should not rename the libraries.

in this report....grouping will be parameterized ....and total also required at every stage...
so how can i add the columns dynamically ?
number of columns are not fixed...they may be 20...30....etc

I have a table scn ... where i can make entries any time....assume they are some rules...
I have another table called t1 ... where i need to calculate values of t1 again some specific rules are table scn.
So for each t1 there will be one row with columns as scn entries which I select on interface.

e.g.   one report may contain 4 columns and other 10 ... so do i have to create new rpt file each in order to render the report ?

How do I install UFL for Crystal Report XI for use on BOE InfoView XI 3.1?

I have a Crystal XI Report that uses a UFL that was created by someone else. The library works just fine on my machine but I need to put this report out in BOE InfoView XI 3.1 for users. The library is Java Class.
I have tried to put the library onto the BOE server but the folder structure, etc. is different on the BOE server.
Could use some help on this.

I have a license for Crystal XI on my desktop and that is all.
We have licensing for BOE Repository to store and execute Crystal Reports. When I run a published Crystal Report the view panel in InfoView displays Crystal Report 2008 logo.
Crystal Reports with UFL work on my machine because I can follow the documentation for Crystal Java UFL's (which is the same as the note you referenced), but that documentation is useless for BOE InfoView because Crystal Reports on the BOE InfoView server is entirely different.

Crystal 2008 - How to use the total revenue in a formula

Hi, Experts,
With Crystal report 2008, I created Income Statement in the following steps:
1. select the Journal Entries within a date range
2. group accounts by their father accounts
3. summarize father accounts under Revenue and Expense ( then I got Total Revenue and Total expense in my groupfoot)
Now, I'd like to calculate the percentage of
(Revenue or Expense under each father account) / (total revenue)
When I directly set the formula as: Sum ({@MonthBalance}, {OACT.FatherNum})/Sum ({@MonthBalance}, {@Seg0FirstLetter})
It gives the percentage of (Revenue or Expense under each father account) over (the summary of their group - Revenue or Expense)
Please help how could I use only the total revenue amount in my formula?

Upload Crystal Report to by using Internet Explorer

Hi all visitors
i have crystal report. and in my report, i use group to summary the floor name.
when i click on each floor, my report doesn't link to POS because i use text box covert the group.
when i upload my report to crystal report server and i view it using FireFox, the report show very well and no link.
but when i view it by using Internet Explorer,my report can link and some lines are not correct.
Anybody know how i view the crystal report on IE well as FireFox?

Crystal report: How to concatenate the string whilereadingrecords?

I have description field in the database and I need to concatenate the value of the filed into one line. How to do that? I tried as below

Hi Raj,
I guess you're trying to concatenate the descriptions so that they appear on a single line, perhaps, on the report footer?
Try this formula:
whilereadingrecords;
stringvar strtitle;
strtitle := strtitle + ">" + {description_field_from_database}
The ">" sign is to separate the records from each other; you may choose to remove this from the formula or use another separator.
Place the above formula in the details section and suppress the section.
Create this formula to display the result and place it in the Report Footer section:
evaluateafter(@Name_of_the_above_formula);
stringvar strtitle;

Some Crystal Reports are not using the Cache Server

Hi...we are currently running BOE XI R2 SP2. I setup a server group with a Cache Server and a Page Server. In the CMC, I set this cache server to keep reports cached for 15 minutes. On the Process tab of some reports, I specifically set the report to use this new server group. On some of the reports this works as expected. For others, it does not appear to be since the cache folder's Date Modified date does not change. So far the only similarity between the reports that do not use cache is that these reports have sub-reports. Has anyone experienced this before? If so, how did you resolve it?

the connectivity on the Designer an don the BusinessObjects system is identical. Is region the only characteristic being used in the report ? which connectivity did you use in Crystal Reports ?

Crystal Report XI - Mulitple Columns Grouping

Hi,
I created a report in crystal report XI having the following structure:
Main Report Structure
Page Header (Report Title, Date and displayed Columns Title)
Group Header (Group header will be displayed)
Details - a (Records List will be populated)
Group Footer (Sub Report which displays the Notes in tabular format)
Page Footer (Page number will be displayed)
I kept 'keep together' for 'Group Footer' section.
Sub Report Structure
Group Header (No contents will be displayed here)
Details - a (Header)
Details - b (Content)
Group Footer (blank section)
In the sub report, the Details section was set for multi columns with across and then down property. The Details section width was set such that at max 3 columns will fit. Also 'keep together' property was set for the details sections so that both header and its content will always stay together. (Assume that the sub report data will be displayed like rows of data with each row having 3 cells.)
Both main and sub reports picks the required data from database stored procedure.
My Problem
As 'Group Footer' section in main report was kept 'keep together' some times more empty space was leaving at the bottom of the pages in the main report.
So i tried to remove 'keep together' option for 'Group Footer' section in the main report. By doing this the empty space was now reducing by splitting the subreport rows in multiple pages.
So far fine but the problem arises when the first row second cell or first row third cell data is large enough so that it can't fit at the bottom of the page in the available space. So because of this, the cells in a row are splitting between the pages.
Either i want to display the entire row with all the 3 cells at a time or blank in the pages' available space for 'Group Footer' section in main report.
(I don't want to split the cells in the rows. I want entire row with all the 3 cells to be displayed at once.)
Can any one suggest me how can i fix this?
I hope i clearly presented my problem. If not, let me know where you want more clear.

But the thing you mentioned won't solves my problem.
If i choose your option then suppose there are 3 rows and 3 cells in each row in the sub report.
For all the 3 rows, beside the title(for each cell) contents may also present(which i already mentioned).
Now assume that content in each cell varies from 0 to 25 lines within in the row cell.
So by keeping all the rows in the group together, the page is leaving with much empty space whenever the entire section (even the last line in the last row of the group) can't fit in the remaining space in the page. Which i want to avoid by splitting the rows (rows only not the cells in the rows) between the pages.
Hope i make the point much clear...
