Hi,I'm trying to integrate JSP and crystal report.
can you give me a sample code to display crystal
report in JSP using activeX viewer(not pure HTML)
I'm using crystal report 9,there are ASP sample come
with CR9,but no JSP.also I don't want use Crystal
Enterprise9 even I know the URL reporting may be the
eaier way.Hi, did u manage to get the ActiveX Viewer up with JSP? I'm also trying to do the same thing. If you could, pls kindly email me the basic source codes to [email protected]? Thanks

Unable to print crystal report over web using ActiveX Control

We have a problem with printing crystal report over web using ActiveX Control. When clicking print button, it only shows a blank dialog web crystal viewer page without any error. The page just simply hangs. We installed the PrintControl DLL and enable all the security setting for ActiveX Control for IE. It still does not print. Does anyone know why?
Environment.
Bundle Crystal Report v10
Asp.net 2.0
IE 6.0 or higher.
Appreciate for your help.

When Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) is enabled, using the ActiveX control to print reports from a Crystal 10 DHTML viewer results in the following error message:
"A communication error occurred, printing will be stopped."
How can this error message be resolved?
Resolution
This is a known issue with Crystal Reports 10 and Crystal Enterprise 10 viewers and has been tracked. The Track ID is ADAPT00282199.
This error occurs due to the receiving application performing a case-sensitive check for the HTTPS request header value "ON". When a sender application sends the value as "on" in lower case, the error occurs. The update below changes the receiving application to be case-insensitive.
Hot Fixes or Service Packs address this issue as indicated below. With the updates, this issue is resolved.
Unless indicated otherwise, Weekly Hot Fix updates from our FTP site have only been tested with English versions of products.
For Crystal Reports 10 and Crystal Enterprise 10, the update for this issue is included in the Crystal 10 Viewers Weekly Hot Fix (WHF). This is available in English only at the following location:

This issue is addressed in the following components (and later versions):

Crystal report from JSP using the JRC

Hi, I am trying to call crystal report from JSP using the JRC.
But i am getting the Error as 'Logon Failed'. my web.xml entry is

I never really had much luck with this approach.
Mind you I was using Crystal Reports 10, and as far as I recall it didn't allow setting/changing of database at this level.
Things to check
- can you create a database connection on your page with this URL/username/password?
- what server are you using? Tomcat? WebLogic?
I found this in your other post:
Connection Information: {Server Name=ee6rpt, Connection String=DSN=s(ee6rpt);User ID=s(ee62test);Password=;UseDSNProperties=b(false), Database Name=, Database DLL=crdb_odbc.dll}That would indicate it is using odbc to connect to the database (crdb_odbc.dll). ODBC is a bad idea with java.
The way I have got it to work for me (after much trial and error) was to in Crystal Reports to connect using the Oracle Driver, and specifying a tnsname - eg define REPORT_DS in tnsnames.ora.
When running through the JRC, it looked for a JNDI datasource under that same name "REPORT_DS".
Don't know if that will help you or not.

How to use activeX viewer with java( CR XI)

Hi
I could find any sample source or refference about usging activeX viewer and java (CR XI R2 sp3).
Because of downloading excel(export function), I can't choose JRC viewer . So I think activeX viewer is only way to solve my problem.
Can anyone let me know how to coding it with jsp? ( there are saveral samples in asp code, but not jsp)

The limitation of not having Excel exports is specific to the Crystal Reports Java Reporting Component, and not with the viewer.ActiveX viewer is supported with the Report Designer Component, which is not Java but COM based - the RDC furthermore is deprecated, and not supported starting with Crystal Reports 2008. The ActiveX viewer is also supported with Crystal Reports Server and BusinessObjects Enterprise.If you use CR.NET, then Excel export is supported - however, as its name implies, it uses a .NET-based SDK.Sincerely,Ted Ueda

Using Crystal reports in JSP

I want to use Crystal report in jsp . I am running the jsp files in tomcat apache4.0 server.
while executing the jsp files in tomcat , following class files are not being found:

The jars should be in your installed Crystal Reports folder( \Crystal Decisions\..\java\lib or something like that...). The problem is that your server (Tomcat and others) ignores the system classpath completely (it sets its own in its startup script).
Therefore, in order for Tomcat to find the jars, those jars have to be placed in in %CATALINA_HOME%\common\lib\. There, they will be available for all your applications. If you don't want them available globally, put them in your particular webapp's WEB-INF\lib directory.

Printing Problem in Crystal Report From JSP

I think ScreenRaghu is right. If you look at the generated source, your jsp becomes an action and processHttpRequest() method is invoked everytime some action happens. So when you click the export button, request object no longer has the values your report needs. Either put the values in session or via link or db or whatelse.

Crystal reports and JSP

Hi there, I would like to call crystal reports from JSP. How can I do that?
My system is:
Webserver: iPlanet 4.0 SP4
Crystal reports: 8.5 Developer version
Database: Oracle 8i version 8.1.6
S.O.: Solaris.
I tried the documentation from Seagate but there isn't examples and explanations in how to do this.

IE8 on XP shuts down on first print of Crystal Report using ActiveX Viewer

Environment:
u2022 Business Objects Enterprise XI 3.1 SP3 FP 3.5
u2022 Tomcat 5.5
u2022 Windows Server 2003
u2022 JDK Version: 1.6
u2022 Internet Explorer 8 - compatibility mode
u2022 client machines Windows XP Professional SP3
Issue:
The browser shuts down after last page is queued for printing upon installing ActiveX print control for the first time in all XP SP3 environments. Issue does not occur when using Vista or Windows 7. Subsequent printing works fine after ActiveX print control has been installed once.
Steps Taken:
-"Enabled memory protection to help mitigate online attacks" option in IE and turned on DEP on OS - this is mandatory for company security policies. Issue does not occur if this option is turned off.
-Not reproducible on my end under same environment
-PDF printing works, however this is not a feasible solution
-issue does not occur for IE6 and IE7 in XP, and IE8 on Windows 7
-disabling DEP via boot.ini also removes issue
-upgrading client workstation to Windows 7 also not a viable solution
-validated version of \Business Objects\common\4.0\crystalreportviewers12 \ActiveXControls\PrintControl.dll on the BOE server as 12.3.1.684
-on client machines, added to Trusted Sites the web site of report origin. Open internet explorer >Tools>Internet Options>Security Tab>Trusted Sites Security Zone >Click Sites> Add Site by typing the web site address---> Click Add -->OK then close the internet Options dialog box.
-not applicable solution, BO XI R2 - "Blank "Crystal Reports Viewer" window - attempt to print report

It's already been validated that turning off DEP works. however, DEP is mandatory for this customer.
I did come across the release notes for IE8 at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/ie/dd441788, indicating the following,
Turn off Data Execution Prevention group policy
The Group Policy setting, Turn off Data Execution Prevention (Windows Components | Internet Explorer | Security Features), does not currently function as expected. While the Internet Control Panel option will appear to be disabled, Data Execution Prevention is still turned on. This is a known problem and will be corrected it in a future update.

Unable to view Dynamic Prompts in Crystal Reports through JSP

Hi,
We are using Crystal Reports, SQL Server and Java in our application. We are using JSP to access Crystal Reports from another machine, get them as "ReportClientDocument" objects and then display them using "CrystalReportInteractiveViewer" object. We are able to view reports with Static Paramter values, but when we try to access reports with Dynamic Parameter values the parameter fields are not visible. It doesn't show any error but we can't see the parameter values.
Any help in this regard will be great. Thanks in advance.

We are using the JAVA SDK to fetch the report. These are the steps we do using java.
- Log in to the Crystal Enterprise
- Get the Report Application Factory from Crystal Enterprise
- Get the InfoStore service from Crystal Enterprise
- Retrieve the report by name from Crystal Enterprise
- Open the report in a ReportClientDocument
- Instantiate a CrystalReportInteractiveViewer
- Get the report source from the ReportClientDocument and set it as source for the CrystalReportInteractiveViewer
- Process the HTTP request to view the report

Cannot view Crystal Report in JSP page ( error loading ? )

          Can someone please help or pass on any suggestions,
          I am trying to view my crystal report (test.rpt) in my JSP page but get the following error and im having trouble sorting it out. I am using Crystal 10 with weblogic. My report is just a simple report ( no data connection needed) with just some hard coded text. I simply want to view it through a JSP page. Can anyone shed any light on the error. The error message is shown below. In my browser i get the message

I am getting the same error... Is there any one who can help us... Or is the problem solved, if so please let me know How did you do that...

Crystal Report 9 on IIS6/ActiveX: Blank Screen

We have used Crystal Report Web Viewer on ASP pages (using ActiveX), and it works perfectly on Windows 2000 machine with IIS 5 and SQL 2K. Now we already migrated the applications to Windows Server 2003 running IIS6, and still SQL2K. All the application works perfectly, except for the Crystal Report. Everytime the report in ActiveX shown blank, only the toolbar and the frame shown, which means that the ActiveX is loaded but the report cannot be shown. I check through the Windows Event Viewer: there're warnings said:
A process serving application pool 'DefaultAppPool' suffered a fatal communication error with the World Wide Web Publishing Service. The process id was '3580'. The data field contains the error number. (the
number is 0000: 8007006d).
A process serving application pool 'DefaultAppPool' terminated unexpectedly. The process id was '4708'. The process exit code was '0x80'.
Check through log file in C:\Windows\System32\Log Files\httperr log file:
Date/Time IP 80 HTTP/1.1 POST URL Connection_Abandoned_By_AppPool DefaultAppPool
I have try to create new app pool, and grant to Network Service or even Local System, but the report still shown blank. Anyone has idea/experience? Thank you.

CR9 does not work in IIS6, you have to run it in IIS5 compatability mode.

Show CRYSTAL REPORT in JSP

Hi,
I have to investigate using Crystal Reports out of our J2EE application.
So I try to find out about versions of Crystal Reports, how we can use them in our environement....
And I'm absolutely stucked with it.
Environment should be BEA WebLogic and an oracle database.
The users of the application should be able to view reports and edit them (if this is possible).
I installed the eval version of Crystal Reporst XI, created an example report with it and now I want to show it on my JSP site
(following the crxi_startup_guide_for_j2ee). Doesn't work because of the error:

There is no server specified.---- Error code:-2147217390 Error code name:serverNotFoundSet up all parameters in the web.xml, CRConfig.xml and clientSDKOptions.xml and nothing...
Am I using a wrong version of Crystal Reports? What else could be wrong? I guess, I'm missing out any point, which could it be?

I installed the eval version of Crystal Reporst XI, created an example report with it and now I want to call my report from JSF Page.i followed the crxi_startup_guide_for_j2ee.i got the error in 'web.xml' file.the error is:
"cvc-complex-type.2.4.a: Invalid content was found starting with element 'env-entry-value'. One of '{"http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee":env-entry-type}' is expected"
here i shows my entry in web.xml file:
