Crystal Reports 2011 cannot connect to Salesforce - Unexpected Error

I am unable to connect to salesforce from Cystal Reports 2011. I get a dialogue saying
Failed to Open the connection
Details:Unexpected Error
-I have increased the JVMMaxHeap in CRCONFIG.XML to 512000000
-I have appended the security token to the password
-I am not going through a proxy server
I am able to login successfully to the salesforce account using Crystal Reports 2008.
In order to narrow the issue down and exclude any issues related to custom objects on our corporate acount I created a clean , out of the box dev account on salesforce. Again I can connect to it with 2008 but not 2011 on whcih I get the same error
I can verify that a login succesfully occured in salesforce, the login in history shows the connections are being made.
In order to reproduce simply create a salesforce dev account, install CR 2011 SP02 and attempt to create a database connection to the salesforce account

Any other ideas on what I can try here?

Hi Vitaly
I did some further playing based on the information you provided; that it should not differ between 2008 and 2011. I currently have both Crystal 2008 SP3 and 2011 SP2 installed so I went through and looked at the CRConfig files for both applications and could not see any major differences other then where they configure as the JVM and classpath.
I have managed to get Crystal 2011 to connect to salesforce after making one small edit to the 2011 CRConfig, changing the classpath to use the 2008 version of CRDBSForceServer.jar
I removed the entry within classpath for the CR2011 CRDBSForceServer.jar
F:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects 4
SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\java/lib/CRDBSForceServer.jar;
and replaced it to point at the 2008 version
F:\Program Files (x86)\Business Objects\Common\4.0\java/lib/CRDBSForceServer.jar;
When I do this I am able to establish a connection to the salesforce DB without any other changes in the CRConfig. This does not solve my problem as I am still unable to run a deployed version of the report as I assume the latest 2011 version of the JAR is also part of the BO4 server and is getting the same connection problem on the server side but this may narrow it down enough for you to be able to provide further clarification on what the issue is.
thanks,
Brendan

  • Crystal Reports 2011 cannot see Excel 2007 as an export type

    I just installed/updated to cr2011.  Installation went fine, and i did not get any problems. I am able to run all my previous reports, and if i makes chamges to a report and save, i do get asked "do you want to save it with the latest report format"
    My version is 14.0.2.364RTM
    When i click export, i do not see EXCEL 2007 or any other new types, i know are included for cr2011.
    Is there anything else i need to download ? cr2011 runtimes ? or remove or configure ?
    thanks

    Abhilash, thank you.
    I have another quick question, and if i need to open a new post i can.
    I have CRD by ChristianStevenSoftware, which we use to automate and schedule/deliver our reports.
    When i upgraded to cr2011, i was told by CristianSteven software, that i had to select the correct CRYSTAL RUNTIMES.
    They have a gui to use for the user to "Chang Crystal Version".  when i used it, i was presented with a dialog box, which
    had Crystal Reports 2011(13.xx) as the latest.  I slected this option as i assumed they though 13.xx was correct for 2011( i know 14.xx is what i have installed.
    Anyway i did not get an error when upgrading to 13.xx, but when i started CRD, i got an error.
    The CRD developer says :-
    The install that is in the picture looks like the installation of the crystal reports 2011 applicaton,
    not the runtimes. The runtimes should be a seperate installation, please let me know if you
    see any installations under add/remove programs that is labeled:
    --SAP Crystal Reports runtime engine for .NET Framework 4
    That should be the name showing for the 2011 runtimes. If you cannot find it in the add/remove programs, you should be able to download the runtimes from the SAP.Com website.
    I do not see SAP Crystal Reports runtime engine for .NET Framework 4
    Can i download them from SAP site as he suggests ?
    Thanks in advance, John

  • Crystal Reports 2011 and connection to Universe or repository

    Hello,
    i have CRW2011 Beta and Interactive Analysis and want to connect to a created universe (which i created with the univrese designer from Interactive analysis).
    I don't have any SAP Business Objects server etc...
    How can i connect to my created univers. If i try to do, CRW2011 he asks me for a server.
    As i remember a SAP technologist do a statement, that this is possible in CRW2011 but was not possible in earlier versions.
    Or what is the minimum installation base a need on a local machine?
    I need this solution, that i must not declare Business logic for every report again. And this solution should be for
    small-size customers.
    Customer side environments
    - Crystal Reports Server 2008 (if available 2011)
    - Crystal Reports Designer / Viewer
    - Pervasive SQL DBMS
    Regards
    Andreas
    -SysTek GmbH-

    Hi Andreas,
    Universes can only be connected to by logging onto a BOE Server. It's always been this way and I don't recall anyone saying that has changed. BOE 4.0 is using a new Universe file name and format so any older Universes will be upgraded.
    As for off line Universe support that won't be supported in the current release and I don't recall anyone telling me it will ever be.
    Who told you you could?
    Thank you

  • Error installing crystal reports 2011

    I am trying to install crystal reports 2011 and I keep getting an error that I need administrative priviliges to continue.  I am the administrator and i have tried running as administrator.  Why does this keep giving me this error.  I am running the 32 bit version of windows 7.  I have .net 4 installed.

    Ah, worth a try.... Likely your IT guys burn images all from the same master or using the same CD's DVD's to install from. I have installed it on various OS, XP, Windows 7, Vista, 2008 32 and 64 bits and no problems. But they are clean also, no third party app's pre-installed other than Visual Studio 2010. And My PC at home has just about everything on it an no issues with it either...
    I can't say why then. I suggest you purchase a [support case|http://store.businessobjects.com/store/bobjamer/DisplayProductByTypePage&parentCategoryID=&categoryID=38156200] and get into the Report Design queue and get them to get more info from you. Logs and other files cannot be attached to Forums.
    It appears to be known issues and they are working on getting it resolved. It likely is a missing dependency or some version specific dependency we and you may have a newer version. In either case you can get a refund.
    Or wait until SP 2 comes out and hope your specific issue is fixed.
    Thanks again

    Yes, I asked them to make note also, there have been delays, it was decide to hold off after the info was released and by then it was too late. Once it gets out everyone seems to be able to get it....
    So are you having problems installing still or just exporting? If exporting what code are you using?
    Have you set your Project for 32 or 64 bit, not anycpu?
    What framework are you using, Any of the FULL versions is a must.
    Try this sample:
            private void ExportToStream_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
                CrystalDecisions.Shared.MicrosoftMailDestinationOptions mailOpts = CrystalDecisions.Shared.ExportOptions.CreateMicrosoftMailDestinationOptions();
                CrystalDecisions.Shared.DiskFileDestinationOptions diskOpts = CrystalDecisions.Shared.ExportOptions.CreateDiskFileDestinationOptions();
                CrystalDecisions.Shared.ExportOptions exportOpts = new CrystalDecisions.Shared.ExportOptions();
                CrystalDecisions.Shared.CharacterSeparatedValuesFormatOptions csvExpOpts = new CrystalDecisions.Shared.CharacterSeparatedValuesFormatOptions();
                CrystalDecisions.Shared.HTMLFormatOptions HTMLExpOpts = new CrystalDecisions.Shared.HTMLFormatOptions();
                rpt.Load(@"c:\reports\b.rpt");
                diskOpts.DiskFileName = @"c:\reports\worldsales.pdf";
                exportOpts.ExportDestinationType = CrystalDecisions.Shared.ExportDestinationType.DiskFile;
                exportOpts.ExportFormatType = CrystalDecisions.Shared.ExportFormatType.HTML32;
                exportOpts.ExportDestinationOptions = diskOpts;
                HTMLExpOpts = new HTMLFormatOptions();
                HTMLExpOpts.HTMLEnableSeparatedPages = false;
                HTMLExpOpts.UsePageRange = false;
                HTMLExpOpts.HTMLHasPageNavigator = false;
                System.IO.Stream oStream;
                byte[] byteArray = null;
                oStream = rpt.ExportToStream(CrystalDecisions.Shared.ExportFormatType.PortableDocFormat);
                byteArray = new byte[oStream.Length];
                oStream.Read(byteArray, 0, Convert.ToInt32(oStream.Length - 1));
                // this is used to verify the file so I saved it to disk
                System.IO.File.Create(diskOpts.DiskFileName, Convert.ToInt32(oStream.Length - 1)).Close();
                System.IO.File.OpenWrite(diskOpts.DiskFileName).Write(byteArray, 0, Convert.ToInt32(oStream.Length - 1));

  • INTERNET CONNECTION NOT DETECTED message with Crystal Reports 2011

    Hello:
         We upgrade from SQL 3008 R2 to SQL 2012 SP1.   Had trouble with Crystal Reports not opening reports.  Information on the internet indicated that you had to reinstall Crystal Reports after upgrading SQL.  We did a repair of Crystal Reports 2011.  I have the box checked to check for updates when Crystal Reports starts.  I am now getting INTERNET CONNECTION NOT DETECTED and the application will not check for updates.  We have tried turning of the firewall and almost everything else we can think of.  I have access to the internet from that server and IE9 works just fine.  Can anyone help, please.
    Thank You,

  • Crystal Report 2011 SP4 APPCrash on Create New Connection

    Hi Guys!
    I've experience a problem with Crystal Reports 2011 for SAP B1 9.0 PL11. CR crashes everytime I create new connection folder.
    I'm running Windows 8.1 x64.

    Hi Pieterjan,
    CR 2013 for B1 can be downloaded from Software Download Center : https://websmp106.sap-ag.de/support
    Choose SAP Business One from menu "Software Downloads" > expand from left side "SAP Business One Products" > Installations > SAP CRYSTAL REPORTS FOR B1   > CRYSTAL REPORTS 2013 FOR B1
    Just keep in mind that, to make CR preview in B1 works fine, please check if correct CR runtime (.NET 32bit or 64bit) is installed. 32bit client will install 32 bit runtime automatically and same for 64 bit.
    To make SAP Business One connection and Add ins menu works, please make sure correct version of Integration Package together with correct BOE runtime are installed. Install Integration Package will install BOE runtime automatically. ( We only need 32bit BOE runtime in CR for B1). Of course you can also install them seperately.
    We have relevant  Note 1815476 to explain this.
    Hope this clarifies some points.
    Thanks,

    After I click OK to clear this 2nd error pop up box, I go to my programs and it is not there to use.  I don't understand why.  Has anyone experienced this?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hello,
    Have a look in the install log file, it is under this tree:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects
    Anything in the install log? You can open it with notepad.
    Also have a look at this post: SAP Crystal Reports 2011: Error INS00140 and other install errors
    And you also need 2.0 Framework as well as MS VS 2005 C++ Security installed.
    Interesting name for a PC...

  • Crystal Report 2011- SAP Data Sources: CL - no items found

    Background:
    SAP ECC 6.0 was purchased three years ago with DSD package. Only FI and SD modules are in use. Accounts download data filesfrom SAP to produce spreadsheet reports. Few user trust these numbers. We are setup as "SAP in the Cloud" model- Listening to constant user complaints, it seems SAP is broken. Interim solution: Crystal Report for everyone.
    Encouraged by Ingo Hilgefort papers and Crystal Report Forum:
    We decided to deploy Crystal Report 2011 and Business Object XI 3.1 with SP4 for our small user community. These software are installed on local XP laptop and Business Object XI 3.1 installed in the SAP server as well.
    Problem Description:
    The desktop user cannot see SAP infosets or tables contents. When connect to the data sources. After user login, she can navigate to expand the data source CL.- displays "no items found ". I can reproduce this error. Using the Crystal Report wizard and selecting various data sources such as: SAP Table, Cluster and Functions: CL, DD and FN category only DD and FN display items.
    Current Environment: SAP in the Cloud.
    SAP Server::ECC 6.0 EhP3 dual stack. Database MSSQL, OS 2008 Server, Business Object Intergration Kit 3.1, Remote Acces VPN.
    Desktop Environment: Crystal Report 2011: SP1, Business Object Xi 3.1, XP SP3
    Surprise: Clicking on either DD and FN tab inside the connector window in Crystal- it expands and displays tables and content reference but not CL.
    Questions: Do we have to move to EhP5 for the CRX 2011 to work ? What is wrong: ? Any help will be appreciated?
    This question is for Ingo H. How to convince SAP hosting company otherwise to solve our problem ? Is is desktop problem or Host side configuration ?

    Ahmad
    K900687 is Open SQL Connectivity transport and required for direct SAP tables connectivity, so you need it, but I am not sure if the warning message relevant to your problem. Sometimes warning is just a warning.
    You can see other objects in DD, but not in CL, it means the connection works. You probably do not have required authorisations to see objects.
    I would suggest to review the Authorisation section of SAP Integration Kit Installation Guide here:
    [http://service.sap.com/~sapidb/011000358700000559912010E/xi31_sp3_bip_sap_inst_en.pdf ]
    You may also check what is the differences between DD and CL in terma of authorizations.
    If you think CR 2011 is broken, then test CR 2008. Is still available for free 30-days trial download here:
    [http://www12.sap.com/solutions/sapbusinessobjects/sme/freetrials/index.epx]
    , but you would need to add SAP Integration Kit to it.

  • Xcelsius - Crystal Report Data Consumer connection Issues

    Sorry for the long post but i hope with the full explaination, i can get a quick answer & solution.
    Using Crystal Reports 2008 and Xcelsius 2008 Engage, SQL 2008 stored procedure.
    I have tested the Crystal Reports Data Consumer connection within the Xcelsius program, using the following steps :
    1. Create a stored procedure that returns the Continent Name and the Count of Projects within each Continent.
    2. Create a Crystal Report using the stored procedure, 2 columns in the Details section, column names in the Page Header section.
    3. Save and export this as an Excel spreadsheet.
    4. Open the Xcelsius program, new file and import spreadsheet. Column A is the Continent Name, Column B is the Count.
    5. Without altering the spreadsheet, I created a graph using the data imbedded. i.Bar Graph, series and row selections. Ii. Pie chart with row data selection. Iii.Column data as series and row selections.
    6. Created a Crystal Report Data Consumer connection using the data imbedded within then spreadsheet. The column A as the u201CRow Headersu201D & column B as the u201CDatau201D. Took quite a while to get the right combination of selected components so that the preview actually showed the data and the corresponding data labels. The Legend still hasnu2019t shown up.
    7. Save and Export as Flash (swf) file.
    8. Close Xcelsius and open Crystal Reports.
    9. Open the same report used to create the spreadsheet and Insert -> Flash, choosing the newly created swf file.
    10. Link the data displayed On the Crystal Report to the Flash file now embedded, using the Flash Expert. Have tried both with the data listed on the Report, and the data listed as the result of the stored procedure.
    11. Previewed and the Data shown on the Graph does match the data listed within the Details section of the Report.
    12. I then altered the stored procedure to add u201C1u201D to all counts, and refreshed the Crystal Report. (I cannot add new data to the underlying database/tables, due to various other folks & projects using that same database.)
    13. The listed data does change to match the changes within the procedure.
    14. The Data labels on the Graph do change to match the changes within the procedure.
    15. The Actual Displayed Data within the Graph Does Not change to match the changes within the procedure.
    I have attempted this with a pie chart, a bar and column charts with the same affect.
    I have searched the web, printed out 4 different examples on how to make this work and still it is hit or miss. I still can not get the legend to show up, either in the preview or the within the Crystal Reports. When I preview the graph before adding the Crystal Report Data Consumer connections, it does work.
    Please someone tell me, What am I missing here ?
    Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi,
    Thanks for your reply.  I followed the other link and it didn't help my current situation.
    Is there a link for paid support .. all I need to do is the following for a client:
    1) Install Crystal report 2011 on a Microsoft 2008 Server R2.. my error message is above.
    Resolve the error on start up of Crystal reports..
    It's already been over 1 week .. and I can't seem to get a live person on SAP that can help me... once this is resolved I think I will be ok.
    I have CR XI on running on another server with no issues.. I don't know if the above is due to a service pack issue, security issue on installation, ...  its a production server so I just want to resolve this quick.
    Any help you can give me on getting alive person that I can talk to will be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.

  • Merge files or redist installer for Crystal Reports 2011

    I cannot find packages for merge files or installer for the redistribution files for Crystal Reports 2011. I have found them only for older versions. In the download section there is somewhere a hint that they are at a different position but no information where.
    Can anyone help me?
    Thank you

    Hi Don,
    thank you. It is ok using the files you indicated me. But there are still some doubts.
    What does happen on a machine where a designer 2011 (internal version 14) is installed and an application that uses the dlls for Visual Studio 2010 (internal version 13). Does this work without problems?
    In a readme for the redistributables for Visual Studio 2010  I have found the following text which I cannot interprete:
    If you have installed Crystal Reports 2011 or any of the SAP BusinessObjects XI 4.0 products,
    you may notice that their installation contains the same "Crystal Reports 2011" and "SAP
    BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0" folders as you see in this folder.  Please note that the
    folder/files names may be the same but most files have a different version, and are not
    compatible with the Crystal Reports 2011 or SAP BusinessObjects XI 4.0 products.
    Currently we want to upgrade our programs from Crystal Reports 9 to 2011 and we have many installations where for one machine the Crystal Reports Designer is needed together with our applications.
