Crystal Reports Distribution

I need to distribute the Reports made with CR XI Devel. edition in one enviromente without other application program in one Windows enviroment with .Net Enviromenti installed.
How can I do this distribution?
What type of run time I need to deliver to have the Report working in all the functionality?
I have discarded this Crystal Reports Viewer environment in how much it allows only to display the reports with the data saved.
I need to have all the Report functionality available.

For a user to be able to view a rpt file they will need either a custom application using the crystalreportviewer control to view the report, or use the Crystal Report Designer. Deploying a custom application is dependant on which SDK that you use. If you refer to our sample applications, they have information on how to deploy.
The viewer control is not limited to only displaying saved data. It will only show the saved data when it is not able to connect to the database to retrieve new data.
If you are looking to have all the design aspects involved you will need to use the RDC embedded designer, which is a COM SDK.

On Production server, we use window 2008, 32 bit machine, the application is visual studio 2010, sql 2012, what version of crystal report should I install for this production server?

On test server, we use window 2008 R2, 64 bit machine, the application is visual studio 2010, sql 2012, I install both version in order to make the crystal report working correctly on the application. if I miss one of them, there are some crystal report function doesn't work..
For production server, we want to install only one, so, could you give me suggestion which version is correct version to make the crystal report work totally correctly on the VS application?

Hi Kelvin
First, you should really be using SP 10.
next, if your app is compiled as 32 bit, deploy 32 bit runtime.
If it is compiled as 64 bit, deploy 64 bit runtime.
If it is compiled as Any CPU and deployed to a 64 bit OS, install 64 bit runtime.

Infoview Discussions and crystal report distribution

Hi Everyone,
I have a two part question
1) I was curious if anyone knows if it is possible to integrate infoview discussions into the SAP portal?
2) I know you can distribute reports either using business objects and SAP's tool, is there any documentation out there which explains the differences or provides some guidance in making a decision.

Regarding Crystal Reports 2013 SP1/SP3 runtime distribution clafrifications

Hi,
We are in process of migrating exsisting Crystal Reports from CR 2008 SP4 to CR 2013 SP1/SP3.
Iam unable to find the corresponding msms for the same for runtime distribution (to install on end user Boxs).
Can see latest as v.13.0.13.1597 (_http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-7824)
Please help out link where I can download msi (or msms) for Crystal Reports 2013 SP1/SP3 runtimes that need to be deployed on user PCs.
Also need advise
( i ) Can we install both runtimes (CR 2008 SP4 and CR 2013 SP1) on user PC at same time?
( ii ) We have already deployed CR 2008 SP4 runtimes on user PCs, is that sufficient? or do we need to install any other runtime?
( iii ) Will CR 2013 SP1 support old CR 2008 SP4 ?

Crystal 2013 does not come with the SDK, instead you have to download Crystal for Visual Studio AND update your code to use it. You can't just install one of the .msi files or the .msm file (which are all available at the link you show above) and expect it to work with existing code.

Crystal Report 2008 Distribution

Hi,
Recently we have installed Crystal Report 2008 with developer licence in our PC. I have developed some of the reports for our each departments and needs to distribute to its them. So please let me know how i can distribute this reports to the user and they can run this report at any time with out my help (users do not have crystal report in their PC).

Crystal Report Missing SAP InfoSet, SAP BW Query Connector

Hi,
I have installed SAP GUI for Windows 7.2 (Compilation 2) and Crystal Report 2008 SP2 then following by installed SAP Integration Kits 3.1 SP3 on my workstation. However, when i launch my Crystal Report designer, it do shows SAP toolbar however when i click on one of the icon (eg: Setting) the entire CR will hung and prompt me error and exit automatically.
Beside that, i could not find any connector for SAP (Eg: SAP InfoSet, SAP BW Query and etc) when i create a new blank report by click on the New Connection.
Appreciated anyone know this could assist on this.

By the way, i saw your post regarding the Integration Kits installation and configuration. However, i still need some clarification; appreciated you could assist me on this.
I have installed SAP BOXI3.1 SP3 on an LINUX machine (Redhat Enterprise 5) and the server was running fine without connecting to BW or SAP eCIBS.
Now, i have to establish the connectivity to BW (InfoCuve and BW Query) and SAP eCIBS system. As my customer requirement was required to using WEBI, CR and Xcelsius for connecting to BW for getting the data and then using scheduler in BOE for performing report distribution. Some of the report will connecting to SAP eCIBS directly and that will using our Client's machine for creating the report (using CR2008) and then publish to the BOE platform for report scheduling and distribution.
My question, i wish to install SAP Inter Kits and downloaded Inter. Kits for SAP Solution 3.1 SP3 from service market place. When i refer to the document from help.sap.com; there are couple of section but i wish to know which are the perquisite section that i wish to install and configure?
Eg: System Requirement which are installing SAP RFC SDK and SAP JCO SDK into my BOE server, then following my create a logon token. How to to that? It also require to install SAP Java Connector and SAP GUI, does these two available for LINUX OS as well?
The steps in doc was confuse, appreciated your kind help.

Crystal Report Viewer Control error

Please Help, I have a web application developed in .net 2005 which is using crystal reports developer product version 10.0.0.533.
This web application with crystal is working fine on my local machine with OS windows xp, but on the windows server 2003 the application web form is running into "couldnot load file or assembly 'CrystalDecision.VSDesigner, Version=10.0.0.3300' or one of its dependencies"
I have compared the assembly information of my local machine with that of the server and could not see the crystaldecision.vsdesigner version 10.0.0.3300 on the server 2003. I have uninstalled microsoft .net 2005 and crystal reports and installed crystal first and visual studio .net 2005 next and vice versa but still could not see that particular assembly available in the windows 2003 server.
Please suggest as what to do for the assembly to be available on the server so crystal report viewer control can be created with out error. Thanks for any help.

Visual Studios 2005 ships with a bundled edition of Crystal Reports. This bundled edition is based on the v10 code stream, but it is not CR10. It's CR.NET for Visual Studios and it's v10.2. Crystal Reports 10.0 and the bundled CR.NET 10.2 for VS2005 are not interchangeable.
The stand alone version of Crystal Reports 10 is not expected to integrate correctly into VS2005. If you have CR10 Developer installed on your VS2005 machine you can force VS2005 to use the CR10.0 assemblies, but it is not supported.
You need to clean up your application so that it's referencing the 10.2 version assemblies and then deploy the 10.2 runtime files. Crystal Report 11, List of Runtime DLLs, Runtime.hlp File

I am using Crystal Report 11 with my Delphi 7 application.
I need the list of runtime dlls which I will need to distribute with my application.
The Help file which comes with the Delphi 7 VCL Component (UCRPE32.hlp) says :

check RUNTIME.HLP in the Program Files\Seagate Software\Crystal Reports\Developer Files\Help folder
and make sure you have all the files.

I could not find the RUNTIME.HLP file in any folder/subfolders on the machine where Crystal Report 11 has been installed.
Can somebody tell me where I can find RUNTIME.HLP file or the list of runtime DLLs which is required to be distributed
along with my application(which is written in Delphi 7).

Hello Ramesh,
Business Objects does not support manual deployment of their runtime files. This started with the release of CR XI (v11.0). Please see [Business Objects Note 1218571|https://bcp.wdf.sap.corp/sap/sapnotes/display/0001218571] - How to distribute the Report Designer Component (RDC) in Crystal Reports XI for more information.
You may also want to review the RDC deployment article - [Creating an RDC Distribution Package|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/901c0761-cf1d-2b10-dea4-8e83937a9337] - that can be found on the SAP web site as well.
The RDC merge modules do not include the CRPE32.dll. Since you're using the VCL you'll probably have to add that file manually to your deployment package.
The merge module links in these articles have probably changed. Go to the [Business Objects Support Software Download|https://websmp230.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/bobj_download/main.htm] page to find the RDC merge modules.
Change the Selection Criteria to this:
Software Product: Crystal Reports
Product Version: XI, XI Release 1, or XI Release 2 (depending on your version of Crystal Reports)
Software Type: Utility
You should also be aware of the fact that the VCL is not being updated any longer. I think the XI (v11.0) version is the last one that will be available. Additionally, the Report Designer Component (RDC) has been retired with the release of CR 2008. Going forward you'll have to migrate to .NET SDK or the Crystal Report Java SDK.

Vista/Adobe 9/sql image Error in Crystal Report:Failed to Export the Report

When I try to export my Crystal Report (v2008) from a Vista machine (using Crystal RDC export methods) as a PDF, I get the following error:
Error in Crystal Report: Failed to export the report.
This only happens when a particular subreport (that contains a sql image) prints (based on an input parameter). We have other subreports (within this same report) that print a sql image just fine. But, when this subreport prints, the above error appears.
I can run the same report on an XP machine without error.
Exportmodeller.dll and crtsv.dll are both installed and registered to the
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Business Objects\3.0\bin folder
I have tried opening the report, removing the image, and then adding it back in again to the subreport.
Still receive the same error.
Any suggestions?

Can you please clarify?
Our VB6 app that uses Crystal XI RDC runtime components. Our Crystal reports are edited in CR2008 SP1 developer edition (not through the VB.NET embedded report designer). We have deployed the CRXIRelease 2 runtime components (via the merge module) to our client machines in order to execute the RDC.
We can print/preview/export to excel, but the pdf creation is failing with this error.
We are only using the RDC (which we know is no longer supported) because of huge issues with the Crystal for .NET methods we are having with our customers (I have an active case for this issue). Therefore, we have to rollback our .NET product and revert to the RDC code.
Vista is failing to create a PDF for a report developed in the CR2008 SP1 developer edition when using the RDC.
When you say "Also, those old dll's will not work in CR 2008. Last patches will give you the option to export to Excel in Legacy mode. We built it into our export dll.", what do you mean by "will not work in CR2008"?

I too need a keycode for crystal reports 2008

As you can see by the string of emails below I have been trying to get a valid key code to install the software for two or three weeks. Why is it so difficult to use something you already paid for. This is not very customer friendly.

Crystal Report Fails on Large Jobs

We have developed user software in VB6 using Crystal 8.5. We use SQL Server for the database and a DSN for the report connection. Our problem is that when a large print job is sent to the printer, it sometimes lock up. The report we have specifically been testing prints a check and has two sub reports which print the detail invoices being paid. From some of our development machines it works fine producing 30 - 50 checks with no hitch, from others only the first 1 - 6 checks are printed and then the windows printing system hangs as well as the application. We did have a customer using the software and the driver for the printer was HP PCL6. We found that changing the driver to HP PCL5 larger data can be printed. This, however, didn't solve a client who had HP Laser Jet 4350. The PCL5 didn't change the situation. Our software has been in distribution for about three years and these print issues have only cropped up in the last few months. We have seven different databases, applications and hundreds of reports. This type of situation is occuring in all seven. We have been fighting this for a while. Have you found a solution to this problem? We are having the exact same issue. Crystal 8.0 with a VB6 app. When the print job is being spooled it simply locks up. I'm trying to get back up to speed on Crystal Reports after 10 years away. I'm running Crystal Reports 2008 Standard with the just-released Service Pack 3 (same symptom with SP2).
So I downloaded the demo database and tried creating a new report. No problems creating a simple customer list. When I add the Orders table and link the CustomerID columns and then add the OrderDate column to the report, everything works fine. But as soon as I add the OrderID or OrderDate column, the application crashes.
Culprit seems to be MSVCR80.dll. Here's the log:

Hello,
It may be that something was "fixed" and our default xml file falls out of the Standards now.
Are you wanting to connect to SQL or XML?
Go to Microsoft's site and search for C++ distribution and download and install the recommended one for windows 7. It may be that part is corrupt or our installer thinks it is there. Try doing a Repair install and custom options to select all of the DB drivers and exports types to see if that resolves the issue.

Crystal reports no longer working in VS Studio 2005

I'm using VS Studio 2005 SP1. I can no longer create a new Windows Form solution using the Windows crystal reports application template.
The following message is displayed.
A error has occurred while attempting to load the crystal reports runtime.
Either the crystal reports registry key permissions are insufficient or the crystal reports runtime is not installed correctly.
Please install the appropriate CR redistributable....
This is occurring on the PC I use for development. In the past I've been able to create these apps with no problems
ALso, I have an existing program that has CR reports. That app is no longer compiling.
Furthermore, the CR runtime is no longer available in the publish/prerequisites list in the existing application.
I've reinstalled VS. What should I do to have access to CR again?
I want to use the CR basic that is part of VS. I don't want to use a version of CR that is purchased and installed separately from VS. I cannot find on the pc CRRedist2005_x86.msi. Shouldn't I have that file on my since it is part of VS?
Where can I find that file? Also, is this the file that is used on the client machines. Some of the searches I've done imply this file should be installed on the development machine.

See if rather than doing repair or reinstall, you can do a custom install of CR only.
The CRRedist2005_x86.msi should be in c:\program files\microsoft visual studio 8\sdk\v2.0\bootstrapper\packages\crystal reports\
You do not install this msi on the dev box. It is for runtime distribution - mostly for web apps, but can be used for win apps too.
Check to see if the CR assemblies exist inthe GAC. These should have a version of 10.2.3600.0.
Check to see if this directory structure exists:
c:\Program Files\Business Objects\2.7\Bin and is there are dlls in that directory.
Check to see if this registry exists:
HKLM\software\crystal decisions\10.2\crystal reports\keycodes\cr ent
The above registry folder should have your keycode in it.
If all of the above checks out, the install is good and you are down to permissions. Use Process Monitor to find out that's up there. Process Monitor can be downloaded from here:

Add-on de Crystal Reports para b1 2005A

Saludos, necesitaría instalar el addon de crystal reports para sap b1 2005A, pero no encuentro el addon en "Software Distribution Center". Quería saber como podía obtenerlo, he visto algunos mensajes sobre el tema pero referentes a la versión de 2007.

Ese add on va con 2005, 2007 y con las que vengan.
No hay ningún problema.
No lo tienes en el distribution center de SAP, tienes un post en este mismo foro en cabecera de los más frecuentes que te lleva a todos los enlaces.
Muchas veces es mejor o lleva a la información correcta, leer o buscar respecto de lo que estamos buscando.

Crystal Report XI R2 version 11.5 not run on Windows Vista 64 bit OS

We have created the Windows Vista 64 bit Development Environment with u201CCrystal Report XI R2u201D version 11.5 . When we try to run report it gives following error
"An error has ocured while attempting to load Crystal Reports runtime.
Either the Crystal Report Registery key permissions are insufficient or the Crystal Reports runtime not installed correctly.
Please install the appropriate Crystal Reports redistributable (CRRedist*.msi) containing the correct version of the Crystal Reports runtime (x86, x64, or itanium) required. Please go to http://www.bisinessobjects.com/support for more information"
Then we Installed Crystal Reports redistributable from u201CC:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Crystal Reports\CRRedist\X64\CRRedist2005_X64.msiu201D
and run the report we got same error.
Its working properly on Windows XP 32 bit Development Environment.
Please advice.

Couple of things to consider;
1) CR XI r2 is not 64 bit
2) The MSI you installed is for CR 10.2 which ships with .NET 2005, not CR XI r2.
3) To use CR XI r2 on Vista, you must have applied at least SP 4
