Crystal x and iis7 windows 2008

I am upgrading to a new box that haas windows server 2008 and iis7.  My sql 08 backend server is on another box running windows 2008.
I currently have my live environment working which is using iis 6 with the same backend sql server and all is working fine.
When I run the crystal report x from the crystal designer on the new 08 box I am able to generate the report no problem.
However, when I run my application with a crystal report viewer I am getting the logon prompt (no matter what credetials i use I can't continue).  The rest of my app works fine and i am able to retrieve data from my sql server.
Is there something I have to change about iis 7 like with sql reporting services in order to get crystal to work with iis 7.

Only CR 10.5 and CR 12.x is supported on Win 2008. See [this|https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/BOBJ/CrystalReportsassemblyversionsandVisualStudio+.NET] wiki for more details.

    To Anyone That Can Help,
I'm on a set of WSUS enabled Windows 2008 R2  servers with no network access to the Internet and I am unable to  install the following:
Update for Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Tools for Office Runtime
    KB's 300162, KB 2961149. and KB 2796590
Equally as painful, I am unable to find anything that helps.
    Any ideas...???

The above from Don Pick pointed me to the answer!!!!
    1) obtained the actual update files (KB2796590,KB2961149,and KB3001652) from my Infrastructure Team WSUS Administrators (download is also available from Internet)
    2)
Ran the update, which of course blew an error
    3) Clicked the error log file which gave me the following:
Summary:Failed with error 0x800B010A (A certificate chain could not be built to a trusted root authority)
file signature could not be verified

    6) Executed the repair from step 4
    7) All updates (KB2796590,KB2961149,and KB3001652) installed without incident!!!

  • Crystal Report and Terminal Service 2008 (registry trouble ?)

    Hi to everyone,
I develop an account software that use Crystal Report to obtain reporting capabilities. My software supports three runtimes of Crystal Reports: release 8, release 9 and release XI.
The user can configure the application and choose which to use.
Some installations (of our customers) use Terminal Server features: the application is installed on the host pc (usually Windows Server 2003), and the clients (running XP) connect to the host and use the software via Terminal Service, and all works fine.
Recently one customer of ours has set up a Windows Server 2008, and troubles began ! ... the Crystal Reports runtime failed to function. Let me try to explain the scenarioes:
    - Host PC with Terminal Service 2008
    - User A on a PC with Windows XP
    - User B on a PC with Windows XP
scenario 1, my application uses Cristal Report Runtimes XI
User A and B can correctly install the runtimes.
Both of the user cannot print reports due to a failure instantiatìing the COM components of Crystal Report.
scenario 2, my application uses Cristal Report Runtimes 9 ... the most funny
User A connect to the host, install the runtimes and start to use the application. All works fine.
User B connect to the host, install the runtimes and start to use the application. User B can use the application (and print reports) but suddenly the User A failed to print (failure instantiatìing the COM components of Crystal Report).
Well ... User A reinstall Crystal Reports library and newly register COM components, and the application newly works fine (and print reports correctly) ... but User B suddenly stop printing reports (the same error).
User B reinstall Crystal Reports library and newly register COM components, and the application newly works fine (and print reports correctly) ... but User A suddenly stop printing reports (the same error) ... and so on.
scenario 3, my application uses Cristal Report Runtimes 8
User A and User B can correctly install the runtimes and the software works fine !
Very funny beacuse ver. 8 of Crystal Reports Runtime are quite old, but they works properly instead of rel. XI (more recent) that doesn't work at all !
Crystal Report runtimes use heavily Windows Registry, and setting up those runtimes require a lot of registry update (due to COM interfaces); maybe there is some registry issue/trouble that scramble Crystal Report runtimes configuration ... the scenario 2 is quite bizarre and counfuse me !
Shall I need to configure some setting on Terminal Service 2008 ?
any idea ? thank you very much.

  • Crystal XI Runtime with Windows 2008 Server

    Hi all
We have been using Crystal for many years with our application, distributing Crystal Runtime with it.
We have our own DLL which interacts with Crystal to display a setup screen to get the user to enter values for the parameters within the report and then runs the report.
All works fine except for running on Windows Server 2008. We have Crystal Reports 11.5 and the runtime on the server is also built with the 11.5 merge modules.
Where the application fails is during a call to the TApplication.OpenReport. Windows isn't giving much information apart from an error has occurred.
Can anyone tell me if there is a known issue running under Windows Server 2008 and whether there is a fix.
I have posted in a different forum, but trying here as well. Getting desperate.
    Many thanks.

  • Windows 7 64bit and Joining Windows 2008 domain

just installed Windows 7, 64bit. When I tried to join it to the domain I'm getting "network path not found". I've tried to manually add a host record for the computer in DNS but that doesn't work. I've even set the IP static and then registered
it in DNS. When I do this, I see the host record with the IP (static) but still can't join to the domain. What's the problem and how can I resolve it?

    Hi HawaiiKai,
What is your Server operating system version, Windows Server 2003, 2008 (R2) or 2012 (R2)?
You may take a look at the KB article below:
"Network Path Not Found" Error Message When You Try to Add Workstation to Domain
Also, please make sure you have Client for Microsoft Networks
    checked on the NIC properties.
Or you may consider to update the NIC driver.

  • Crystal Reports 2011 not working in windows 2008 server CITRIX

    Hi All,
We are using  Crystal reports 2011 in windows 2008 server which is CITRIX farm., having crystal reports 2011 runtime in it..
We are using .net applicationton to run the reports.
The crystal reports parameter popup is getting opened. But the calendar icon is not fuctioning ..clicking on the calendar control no pop up appears. no error too..
OK button is not responding. Cancel button too.
Can you please help us why we are facing this issue in CITRIX only. When we are using the same version in desktop, Crystal report is working fine.
Please feel free to ask if required any more details about my problem.
    Regards,
    Venkat.K

Ido's idea is excellent, only addition I'd like to make is the following:
You are trying to run a .NET app. However, CR 2011 does not install any SDKs. So, the directory specified by Ido is not correct. Assuming that by CR 2011 you actually mean "SAP Crystal Reports, Developer Version for Visual Studio .NET", then the directory would be:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\Crystal Reports for .NET Framework 4.0\Common\Crystal Reports 2011\crystalreportviewers\prompting
If that does not help, use Process Monitor and see what the logs tell you (look for Access Denied messages).

  • MII 12.1 and NW CE 7.1 on Windows 2008

    Hi ,
I just need to find out if any one has installed MII 12.1 and NW CE 7.1
        on Windows 2008 R2 and/or Windows 2008 on 64 bit.
Looking at the PAM for NW CE 7.1, it has both the 2008 versions listed but i'm not sure if I'm reading it correct
that it is supported or not.
And has anyone had any issues on these two systems. Otherwise is there a SAP Note somewhere which details this
    Thanks

    Hi Fstoian,
    Thanks for information.
I want to install MII 12.1 on windows 2008 R2 SQL 2008 R2. I think it is supported as ustated in the last post. Please confirm.
one more thing i would like to clarify.
As per SAP note 1229080, its mentioned that navigation path for downloading NW CE 7.1 EHP1 is wrong in installation guide.
correct path for downloading NW CE 7.1 EHP1 is :-
    hhttp://service.sap.com/swdc -> Installations and Upgrades -> A - Z Index-> N -> SAP NETWEAVER CE-> SAP NETWEAVER CE 7.2 -> Installation -> Platform(Phys. Delivery) -> <operating system> -> <database>
Here you can see its saying to download from path of 7.2
could you please through some information on this that i can install MII 12.1 on NWCE 7.2 using SQL / WINDOWS 2008 R2.
    Regards,
    Abuzar.

    2. Windows Server 2008 is not yet officially supported by CA Wily for the Enterprise Manager. If you want to install the Enterprise Manager anyway, set the "Windows 2003 compatibility mode" for the installer before launching it. To activate this mode, right click on the installer.exe file in the Windows Explorer, select tab "Compatibility", activate the check box for compatibility mode and select Windows 2003. If you do not set this, the installer will consider your OS as Unix and install shell scripts (no suffix) instead of batch files (.bat) and leave out some files for Windows Service registration.
If the windows service still fails to start please check if files ServiceWrapper.jar and ServiceWrapper.dll are present in folder lib. If not download them from attachment of this note.
The service should start although giving an error message regarding the ServiceWrapper.dll. You can ignore this error.

  • Does Windows 2008 Server run ok under Mac Mini Bootcamp?

Does anyone have any experience of installing and running Windows 2008 Server on a Mac Mini (of which has either Mac OS or Mac OS Server installed), under Bootcamp?
I currently have an old Dell with Windows 2008 server which acts as my Domain Controller, Exchange Server for a small home-office network. It's due an upgrade as the hardware is so old (and noisy!) and like the idea of having a nice compact, quiet Mac Mini, but want to make sure it can carry out the same duties under bootcamp on Win2008?

Windows 2008 can be installed in Boot Camp.  However I don't believe it is officially supported by Apple so there may or may not be issues with installing the Boot Camp Drivers (or future updates to the Boot Camp drivers.)  Not something I'd be recommending for a "production" environment.  If this is a test/dev system, then probably worth trying, depending on how critical your network uptime is.
Also, you didn't mention if your Dell came with Windows 2008 preinstalled, but if it did, then likely it has a "branded" version of Windows that won't activate correctly on non-Dell hardware.  (If your Windows disks have "Dell" on them, they won't work with the Mac.)  So you may need to purchase a retail or volume license copy of Windows 2008.
In general, for a server running as a DC & Exchange, you'd want RAID1 as a minimum so that would be the Mac Mini Server, not the "desktop" Mac Mini.  Unless you have one lying around, you're looking at something around $1500-$2000 to start, depending on whether you can transfer your existing Windows 2008 & Exchange installations.  (Another $500-$2000 depending on what vesions of Windows & Exchange.)  And probably 8GB of RAM since Windows 2008 & Exchange on 4GB is pushing it.  Considering the costs, I suggest you look at the Dell T110 series or the HP Proliant 110 series.  Both lines are very quiet and are supported for Windows 2008 from the factory, including Windows Small Business Server, which includes Exchange.  While not as small as a Mac Mini, they are mini towers and about the size of a typical PC desktop.
If you really wanted a small footprint, then HP has a "microserver" series.  You'd probably need to call HP to get the build you want as the online ordering is limited for that model.  From Dell, there is the Zino model desktop.  Again, not supported for a "server", but you were going to consider a the non-server version of the Mac Mini, then the Zino has at least a chance of you reusing your existing versions of Windows if they're Dell branded, thus saving your something in the range of $500-$2000 for new software.  (But I would NOT recommend a non-server chassis without RAID1 hard drives, so the Zino is not my choice.  I just offer it as a possibility if you accept the risk of an unsupported installation, as would have been installing Windows 2008 in Boot Camp.)
So yes, it will work.  But I wouldn't recommend it for a production environment, especailly if you have the "desktop" computer without RAID1.

  • Dism command in windows 2008 SP2

Ho do I run the command
dism /online /cleanup-image /spsuperseded to clean up winsxs folder in windows 2008 SP2.I got message /online command works only in windows 2008 r2,and in windows 2008 sp2 it needs to be run in offline, can any one give idea how i run this command
    in windows 2008 sp2

    Hello,
Firstly, please keep in mind that WinSXS folder is an important directory that keeps the shadow copy of the important system files, which gets changed during any installation of Patches or Updates or software. With the use of WinSXS Folder all system files
can be reverted back to the stage where it was before installation of Patch/Update. Hence, it’s not wise to wipe the WinSxS folder.
Secondly, just like the warning message suggested, DISM can only be used in Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 (Not in Windows Vista or in Windows Server 2008). For Windows Server 2008 SP2 or Windows Vista SP2, there is tool called Windows Component Clean
    Tool (COMPCLN.EXE).
Refer to: Windows Component Clean Tool
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd351467(v=WS.10).aspx#BKMK_COMPCLN
•Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 1:  VSP1CLN.EXE
•Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2:  Compcln.exe
    •Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1:  DISM /online /Cleanup-Image /SpSuperseded or Disk Cleanup Wizard (cleanmgr.exe)

  • Will xcelsius/dashboard 4.1 run on Windows 2008

Hi: I have deployed crystal server 2013 on Windows 2008.  Apparently, there is a Dashboard component involved.
The install doc  xi4_dashD_install_en.pdf (20120-3-16), on Page 15 mentions System Requirements.
Many windows systems are mention, however Windows 2008 is not mentioned.
What are the odds that  xcelsius-dashboard-4.1-sp03 or better will run on Windows2008?

Have you checked the PAM for the dashboard 4.1, it states it supports windows 2008.

  • X200 with Windows 2008 64bit

Can someone give me some hint on how to resolve this issue?
I bought the X200 and installed Windows Vista 64 bit without a problem. I am now creating a VM with Windows 2008 64bit but received this message after installation and reboot: "Attempting to load a 64-bit application, however this CPU is not compatible with 64-bit mode."
The CPU is Intel P8600 which is 64-bit compatible. Why did Vista 64-bit install and run properly and not Windows 2008?
    Thanks !

I found the answer to my question on this blog...
    http://www.aspdeveloper.net/Virtual_PC/rn-739-53140_Does_VPC_support_64_bit_OS.aspx
Basically, yes with VMWARE only, not MS VPC...
