Crystal XI R1 (version 11) report viewing problem

I am using a custom DLL to display 128 barcodes in a report using the Additional Functions feature. The majority of the time the report displays correctly with the barcode, but there is a problem where the report displays without the barcodes being displayed. The problem occurs in an all or nothing fashion, either all barcodes are displayed or none are displayed.
This custom dll has been used successfully with Crystal 8.5 for several years, and I have failed to reproduce this issue using that setup.
I've also exhausted the possibility that the problem lies within the custom DLL itself. I've added debugging to the DLL and determined that the DLL is never called when barcodes do not display on the report.
I believe the problem is occurring within Crystal's functionality of displaying the report.
The setup is web based reporting within an ASP.Net application and can be reproduced on two different web server setups:
Windows 2000 SP4
Windows 2003 SP1
Is there a way to further debug into crystal runtime to see what is and what is not being execute?
Are there any known issues in Crystal XI v. 11 interacting with 3rd party / custom dlls?

Crystal report viewer problem

Hi,
We have CR 2008 SP2 license version and We are using visual studio 2010 and downloaded CR for visual studio 2010. After upgrading when we run the application, report displays successfully with new report viewer but when i try to open another report it displays in new window rather than in current window. This issue occurs in Internet Explorer only. When i run this apllication in firefox it works....!!!! In firefox, it does not open new window for each report.
So, can you tell me this issue is related to browser or report viewer and what should we do to solve this issue?

I got the exact problem which was occurred. We do have 3 frames in an aspx page. From the link given in one frame (left frame), we are loading new form in another frame(main frame) by giving the "target=main" in link. Suppose in left frame i have given options to load different reports. Report is loaded in main frame after clicking on one of the link given in left frame. Report is displayed successfully in main frame but after that if i click on any of the links given in left frame, page will be loaded in new window. That is the exact issue occurred over here.
By searching the solution for this problem, I got to know the reason. It is specified in community forum that in frames concept, frame name is taken "filter" by default. So i have to chahge my main frame id and name to "filter". I did that and the isuue is resolved...!!!! But for this reason, i have to change frame name in the application. May i know why this was happened..??? In earlier version i did not face this problem then why in upgraded version ...???

SAP LVS Report Viewer Problem?

I installed the SAP LVS Service and SAP LVS Client AddOn to all Workstation Successfully, but when i generate the SAP LVS Report Viewer, there was no report Generated.

Bonifacio,
The report viewer gets information from the LVS database and the database by default is only updated each day at 23:00 hours. You can change this in the ReportClasses.xml file that is located in the "LV Service" folder. If you change the time to update the LVS Db, you will also need to stop and then restart the LVS Service. Also, be careful as the LVS Db will grow in size the more often it is updated.
You may want to wait until you hit the 23:00 hours mark and then try the reports. Also, verify the Business One clients add-on is running or information will also not be collected.

Pdf report viewing problem using Sun appserver9

i want to generate a report from my web application.if i use appserver8.2 it can view report in pdf ,html and csv format.but when use appserver 9 it cant show the report in pdf format.message is shown as File is not a valid postscript document.i am using fedora core 4 and mozilla firefox.pls help someone

Report viewer unresponsive while loading

Hi,
I am loading a server report on Report viewer web version 10.0.0.0 in an asp.net web application. It is set on async mode. When loading the report, the loading progress bar rotates for a while and then it stops and the whole page becomes unresponsive. After
sometime, suddenly the report appears. But when running this report on Report server page (http://serverAddress/Reports/Pages/Folder.aspx?ItemPath=%2fReports&ViewMode=List), I don't see this behavior and the report loads very quickly. Also I tried
to use different versions of report viewer control. In Report viewer 9.0.0.0, it works as expected. but all the greatest and latest versions the problem exists. How do I solve this?

According to your description, when you loading report from ASP.NET reportviewer 10.0, the loading progress image rotates for a while and the whole page becomes unresponsive, the report shows after a period of time. The report works fine in report manager
and reportviewer 9.0.
From Visual Studio 2010, Asynchronous rendering no longer renders the report content in an iframe. Instead, it uses ASP.Net AJAX to perform an asynchronous postback to get the report data. The new communication sequence is:
Browser makes a GET request to the ASPX page to get the page content and a loading indicator for the report.
Browser makes a POST request to the ASPX page to get the HTML for the report (this content is in an UpdatePanel).
Browser makes GET requests to the HTTP handler to get all the images in the report.
To solve the problem, please refer to the following steps:
For a WinForms application, we can use <NetFx40_LegacySecurityPolicy enabled="true" /> in the configuration -> runtime section of the app.config file which forces the usage of the current AppDomain.
In an ASP.Net application, we can set <trust legacyCasModel="true" level="Full"/> in the system.web section of the web.config file to achieve the same result.

It was working fine with Crystal Report version 13.0.5. Only change is uninstall Crystal Report version 13.0.5 and install Crystal Report version 13.0.10

Problem on using Crystal Report Viewer on windows application ("specified type is not valid ")

I am having problem on using Crystal Report Viewer on one of my windows application.
I am not sure how to put the Crystal Report Viewer 11 Control onto the tool box.
I could found a Crystal Report Viewer control on my computer, but it is version 8.5.
I have also found another one which is Called Crytal ActiveX Report Viewer, i don't think it is the one I can use. As when I try to load a dummy report on to the Crytal ActiveX Report Viewer, It return an error. "specified type is not valid"
Please see the Code sample below.

VS 2005 Standard and Express editions do not come with Crystal Reports; only the Professional and higher editions will have CR bundled. However, I believe you can purchase CR XI R2 Developer and it will give you the components you need to create a VS .NET 2005 application using the Standard edition.

Problem in Crystal Report Viewer 2008

Dear all,
I found that the crystal report viewer 2008 (Windows XP) could not display report properly when the file extension is in upper case. (report.RPT). In order to view this report, I must launch the viewer and click file --> open --> select file name.
After rename the file name to report.rpt, I can the report by double click report file.
This problem does not exist in Crystal Report Viewer XI. Any people encounter this problem?

Windows 2000 is not supported in current versions of CR. Check the platforms PDF file.

Problem showing the crystal report viewer in form after added the component on it

I have a problem running a program. I created a form which I added the component Crystal Report Viewer perfecty but during program execution when I call that form my VS 2012 Ultimate show the following error:

Failed to create the form. See Exception.InnerException for details. Error: An exception occurred in the type initializer for 'CrystalDecisions.Shared.SharedUtils'.
Note: If I remove the component from the form. the applications runs fine when calling the form without the component CrystalReportViewer
It is something related to my VS? o just that the actual version 13.0.9 is not yet compatible?

Crystal Report Viewer (SmartViewerActiveX/ActiveXViewer) barcode problem

I am using the crystal reports viewer to show my reports in my asp website.
In the reports, I have a barcode using the font source IDAutomationHC39M.ttf.
This code must be a certain size that I indicated in my report design.
The problem is that the viewer appears in the browser with the barcode expanded to full size, and not with the size that I indicated in report design.
If I print from the program Crystal Reports, it appears according to the size indicated.
It seems that this is a problem of the Viewer in the browser.
Someone can help me? this matter is very urgent.

Crystal Reports Viewer - pdf, prompts, icons problem

I am a new in BO.
I have some answer about Crystal Reports Viewer (not about setup.exe but about CRV application that I uploaded on Tomcat)
1) The old version (11.5) works good, only Export to PDF functionality is wrong. There are in the pdf file wrong display of specific czech characters (charset)
2) A new version, Crystal Reports Viewer 2008, show the same pdf mistake. I have J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 4 and Apache Tomcat 5.5.9.
I upload application on Tomcat, configuration (web.xml, crconfig.xml and context.xml) is the same with version 11.5.
Crystal Reports Viewer 2008 displayed reports, but the problem with PDF is present. The second problem is the look of CRV. First one, the icons (for export, print...all icons) are not displayd. I can copy old jar files into java (in application folder C:\WebReports\WEB-INF\lib), but then CRV looks like old version.
And CRV 2008 doesn't display listbox in dynamic prompt on crystal report. What shall I set to displaying prompts in CRV 2008 (on CRV or on report in Crystal 2008)?
Have you some idea? What and how can I set and configure application and where?

To confirm, are you talking about "Crystal Reports Viewer 2008" http://www.sap.com/solutions/sapbusinessobjects/sme/reporting/viewer/index.epx
I suggest sending in the report, in the viewer, select "Help" - "General Feedback" and then pick the option to attach the report. In a couple of months there will be a refresh version of this view which will have Czech language support so it would be good if we could test out your PDF issue.
As for showing parameters in the prompt panel in Crystal Reports Viewer 2008, since the viewer cannot refresh the data, make sure the parameter does not used in the record selection formula but only in the saved data selection formula.

Problem in crystal report viewer control's toolbar "export"button using SSL

I would like to ask. My project is using BO XI Release 2 and VS-Studio 2005. Initially my project doesn't use SSL... At that time when i view the report with crystal report viewer control and can export (using built-in toolbar "export button"). Now project is using SSL and canu2019t export the error is

Actually this error can solve "Cache-control" change to "no-cache". But I donu2019t know in crystal reportu2026

In Internet Explorer, go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced and ensure "Do not save encrypted pages to disk" is unchecked.
Default is to have that option checked.
It was considered a IE security issue that IE saves all content to temp disk location unencrypted, even those pages served by HTTPS (for example, let's say you use HTTPS to download your bank info, and it's stored to temp disk for someone else to retrieve later). So more recent versions of IE implemented that option setting.
How that option setting works is strange - it downloads the file, saves to disk, then deletes the copy from the disk immediately, before passing it to the application responsible for the MIME type. So the application tries to open a directory path to a non-existing file.
Issue is specific to IE, and it's not something you can control via the SDK.

Paging problem with Crystal Report Viewer in VS 2013

I am attempting to upgrade a VS 2008 project that uses a dozen plus Crystal Reports to display data for our owners.
The problem that i am having is with navigating to other pages of any multiple page report using the paging buttons of the Report Viewer control. The report will load fine and display the first page. If I try and go to page two an overlay covers the screen and a progress graphic displays and will never go away. I have to stop debugging the project and restart it. I have been able to get the paging buttons to work if I click on one of the asp.net buttons that I have added to the page that run the .ShowFirstPage(), .ShowNextPage();.ShowPreviousPage(); or .ShowLastPage(); methods of the ReportViewer control. When in click on one of these buttons an error displays within the ReportViewer control that reads simply "ERROR". From there I can click on one of the asp.net button described above and the report displays and at this time the navigation buttons work as expected.
The parameters are being set via a series of asp controls and then stored in ViewState then passed to the ParameterFieldInfo of the ReportViewer control.
This all works just fine in VS 2008 project but I have not been able to resolve the paging issue since upgrading.
Does anyone have any ideas as two what may be causing this behavior?

I moved the block assigning the report source of the ReportViewer to the Page_Init method, but that did not change anything.
The reports are loaded when the user clicks on a link button specifying the report that they wish to view. In the click event of the button a method is called to set the LogOnInfo for each table of the reportsource;

If I change the user agent string in Firefox to that of Firefox 7.0.1 everything works as expected, this implies there is some logic in get_IsNetscape6Up() which is failing because the major browser version as reported by the user agent string is two digits instead of one.
We encountered a similar issue for our legacy pages containing Infragistics 2007 controls but were able to fix that by overriding the System.Web.Configuration.HttpCapabilitiesBase.BrowserCapabilitiesProvider and faking the browser version to 9.80. Crystal Report Viewer is apparently not using .Net's built in HttpBrowserCapabilities object, is there anything else I can adjust to stop the viewer failing?

of Firefox at every service release. We do our best to test the released versions of Firefox
that align with our releases. I donu2019t know the details but Iu2019ve heard there is a plan in place where
the support team(s) (?) will test the most recent releases of Firefox with whatu2019s currently
shipping by SAP and log bugs as necessary.

The current plan for CR for VS2010, the SP3 release (expected in April) will support up to
Firefox 9. If there are reproducible bugs in Firefox 10 (or higher), then please enter a bug
and escalate and it will be investigated for the next available release.
I'll revisit this once SP3 is out there and do an escalation for Firefox 10 - ok?
