CS Review (client perspective) is 'sticky'

I have just moved from CS2 to CS5, noted the client review tool was missing from premiere pro but pleased to find CS Review.
For a test, I used P.Pro CS5 to export/upload a 16 second SD video sequence at the lowest pre-set rate of 1 mbps and emailed it to myself, as if I was a client.
On opening the recieved email/link, it plays well from start to end, but when clicking on the bar graph to navigate sooner/later in sequence, it freezes.
I put several comments in, and sometimes the 'jump to' commands work and sometimes they don't. On other occasions it seems to jump, but not display the red rectangle.
I am patient between keystrokes and have a broadband connection, and have tried it on both a dual core laptop and windows 7 64bit pc via the web browser (firefox).
Given that this is to be used by clients, who by nature are not always technically minded, it needs to be fluid and easy.
If this 'freezing' and non-responsiveness is typical for video content, it would quickly annoy the client.
Is this a known bug, and is there a fix in the pipline?
Second question - I set up CS live/review within the CS5 software set-up using a personal hotmail address, rather than my business email address.
As this address is used for emailing the workspace, I need to change it to a 'work' email address. I note it can be changed via Home/settings, but as I note it forms part of the logon ID, I don't want to create a conflict and lock myself out.
Best wishes.
David Smith

Hi David
The rough playback could be a number of factors, but we've seen this issue before with the 10.1 version of the Flash Player that is installed with CS5. Try updating to the latest 10.1 version to see if that smoothes things out.You can get it here: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
You can update your Adobe ID (email address) from using your home to work email.  The best place to this is here:https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/membership/index.cfm?loc=en_us&nl=1
After you login with your home email address, this page will allow you to update Adobe ID and password, view subscription information and much more.
Note- if you already have a Adobe ID for your work email address it will prevent the conflict since it's already in use. To work around this login using your work address and change the email to one that's not in use. This will clear your work email from the Adobe ID database.  Logout and login again with your home address and now you can change it to your work address.
Thanks again for taking CS Review on a trial run. Let us know how it goes.

  • How to improve client handover and roaming between AP's

Improving client Handover and roaming between APs
There are a few standards and methodologies available to use to improve handover of clients between APs. Most are focused on VOIP technologies, but it must always be remembered that we cannot control the client Handover (especially with legacy clients) we can only encourage them. Some Standards and methods work well for some environments and some do not - test the recommendations extensively before implementing in a live Production environment. It must also be noted that all settings take effect immediately once applied, however from a client perspective it might need to re-associate for the changes to take effect client side.
As with everything else in IT, if a perfect method/solution existed there would only be one - try them all and keep the best.
    The Standards and Definitions
    802.11k
IEEE 802.11k allows a device to quickly identify nearby APs that are available for roaming. When the signal strength of the current AP weakens and the device needs to roam to a new AP, it will already know the best candidate AP with which to connect to.
    802.11r
IEEE 802.11r specifies fast Basic Service Set (BSS) transitions between access points by redefining the security key negotiation protocol, allowing both the negotiation and requests for wireless resources to occur in parallel.
When a device roams from one AP to another on the same network, 802.11r streamlines the authentication process. BSS allows a devices to associate with APs more quickly. Coupled with 802.11k's ability to quickly identify the target AP, BSS's faster association method may enhance application performance.
    Handoff Assist
The AP monitors the RSSI for every associated client. If the RSSI for a specific client falls below "low-rssi-threshold" and continues to fall for the "rssi-falloff-wait-time", then the AP will send a de-auth to the client.
The de-auth is meant to kick the client away from the current AP and get it to re-authenticate to a nearby AP. This will have the effect of helping a client handover between 2 APs.
BUT (Big But), if the client gets de-authed and takes a while to re-authenticate (if it even does re-authenticate automatically after a de-auth), then this will have the effect of destroying communication instead of helping it -- mostly found with legacy clients.
    Remove Lower Transmit Rates
Removing lower transmit rates is a way to promote better roaming, BUT not all clients respond well, or even respond to it.
The practice is that the basic rates are a subset of the transmit rates. If you only want to allow speeds 9 and up, you would select only the transmit rates of 9 and up, and the basic rates of 9 and 11. If a legacy client expects the rates of 1 and 2 it will not connect.
    Local Probe Threshold
Local probe Threshold prevents a client from connecting to an AP with a too low a signal - helps more with initial connection than roaming.
The local probe threshold parameter is not supposed to force clients to roam as soon as they pass near an access point with a good signal, but rather to NOT hold on to an access point with a weak signal (avoiding sticky clients).
    PMK Caching
Defined by 802.11i and is a technique available for authentication between a single AP and a station. If a station has authenticated to an AP, roams away from that AP, and comes back, it does not need to perform a full authentication exchange. Only the 802.11i 4-way handshake is performed to establish transient encryption keys.
    Opportunistic Key Caching (OKC)
Is a similar technique to PMK, but not defined by 802.11i, for authentication between multiple APs in a network where those APs are under common administrative control. An Aruba deployment with multiple APs under the control of a single controller is one such example. Using OKC, a station roaming to any AP in the network will not have to complete a full authentication exchange, but will instead just perform the 4-way handshake to establish transient encryption keys
    Implementation and Configuration
    802.11k
802.11k is configured in your VAP profile. Tick the option to “Advertise 802.11k”. There after set the Handover Trigger Feature Settings.
Tick the “Enable Handover Trigger feature” and then set RSSI threshold by specifying the -dBm level at what the hand over trigger should be sent to the client
    802.11r
802.11r is configured under SSID of your VAP profile. Tick the option to “Advertise 802.11r”
    HandofF Assist
Station Handoff Assist is enabled in RF Optimization under the RF Management section of AP configuration.
Tick the “Station Handoff Assist” option to enable it, next set the Low RSSI Threshold – the threshold determines above what level no deauth gets sent
    Lower Transmit Rates
Transmit rates can be adjusted in the Advanced tab of SSID under your VAP profile.
Remember that the basic rates are a subset of the transmit rates. If you only want to allow speeds 9 and up, you would select only the transmit rates of 9 and up, and the basic rates of 9 and 11
    Local Probe threshold
Local Probe threshold can be adjusted in the advanced tab of SSID under your VAP profile.
Depending on the density of your APs consider values between 20 and 40 -- 40 being aggressive in an AP dense area.
    Deny Broadcast Probes
Denying Broadcast Probes can cause problems with Roaming especially if the SSID is hidden – leave option disabled.

Hi, thank you for the helpful guidance.  I have a basic question, if the device roam from one AP to another AP with the same SSID.  Is there a need of re-authentication given a) the network uses EAP based authentication; b) the network uses MAC address authentication.   If there is no need of EAP re-authentication, how the 802.11 keys are moved to the new AP.  Thank you very much if you could help me clarify my thought.

I do not know about the oracle 10g client that which version is that on.
For your information actually error is ORA-03134: connection to this server are no longer supported.
The error which i am getting is on SSMA a tool by microsoft to migrate oracle to sql 2008. So that tool is displaying this error when i am trying to connect to oracle by the help of SSMA.That tool may be displaying the error, but it is only passing what it was given by the underlying Oracle client. The MS product really has nothing to do with the underlying problem, and can do nothing to fix it.
I believe Schavalli is right, you may need to get a 9.2 client in there as an intermediary. I once had a system where the app was built in pro-C and the source was lost so could not be recompiled/relinked. We had to host the db on 10.2 to take advantage of certain security features. Ended up having to have an intermediate 9.2 database for the 8.1 client (and there's where we had to patch up to 8.1.7.4) to connect to, and all of the "tables" in the 9.2 were really just public synonyms to db_links pointing on to the 10.2 database.
    please suggest sth?

  • Advice Required : Unusual website client request.

    Hello,
    This isn't a joke!
I have been asked by a client to build a website that satisfies the following criteria.
    1. All webpages must end with .html
    2. The webpages must not require any particular web technology behind the scenes to work.
    3. It's fine if website requires javascript.
They have some good reasons for this.
    1. If all the webpages end with .html then any future change in backend technology would not adversely effect search engine indexing.
    2. Similar to 1 in that they don't want changes in back-end technology to require any significant change in the existing html.
I have a rough idea how to deliver this and I would welcome any advice or comments anyone may care to offer.
    My plan is to...
    1. Develop the server side of things using java - but not .jsp's
    2. Develop the client side of things using html and javascript so ending in .html
    3. Connect the server and client side using AJAX approach, so seperating client from server.
Is this a foolish approach or am I thinking along the right lines?
Is there a java technology I should use?
    Thanks

    Hello Steve,
    Thanks for your thoughts.
re: #2. They are more concerned that there (client-side) web pages are 'clean' of any (server-side) code. I think what they mean is that say their website was made using JSP/Servlets and then (for some reason) they wanted to switch to .NET, then they want (ideally) such a change to have almost zero impact on the client-side web pages. This could mean two things:
    1) The code sent to the client is pure HTML/Javascript
    2) The code that makes up the View is pure HTML/Javascript
If 1) then a full use of JSP is no problem, because JSPs generate regular HTML, nothing special about it.
But the JSP would be the View, so if they want 2) then you would not be able to use JSPs. You would end up doing a lot more work and use a lot more servlet code to do what essentially JSPs already do.
    >
Mapping .html as you suggest in order to continue using JSP's is really interesting. I have just set up a sandpit java web app using SSI filter mapped to .html, so that #include virtual="" can be used in the html to import headers, footers, nav links, javascript files, etc. Maybe your suggestion is a simpler approach?
What do you think?I think using JSPs for this is the better choice, because you get a lot more functionality and a lot simpler/easier to maintain code.
Coding for a maybe change to a completely different architecture is a nightmare. From the client perspective I agree, searched/bookmarked pages should the same, and with a well designed View layer, this is no problem. But the server-side should leverage the entire servlet architecture or is a waste.

  • Ability to print CS review file

Our team received a question from a client regards to being able to print a CS review file. The client does not have any adobe product installed other than Acrobat.  What would you recommend as the most efficient way for the client to print their CS review file? I Look forward to your response.

    Hi Ken,
I'm happy to hear you are discussing CS Review with your clients.  Their configuration is common and supported with the use of the CS Review web client.  You can find more details about this aspect of the service at:
    https://acrobat.com/csrlive_features.html#ShareReviews
In summary, this is a review client hosted within the Acrobat.com environment.  Use of this client is free for as many clients as you wish to invite to reviews.  Within this context they can look at the review you have posted and share comments with you.  As such we've not yet undertaken the task of providing other mechanisms to print or export review content.
I look forward to hearing your thoughts on how well this will work for the clients you are working with.

  • ACE Module: How do I confirm that sticky is working?

    Greetings,
I have implemented stickiness using source and destination IP address.  It doesn't seem to be working consistently.  When a client connects to the VIP, I see the connection when I do 'show conn' but when I do 'show sticky database' the database is empty.  I've used multiple forms of the 'show sticky database' including but not limited to 'show sticky database client ipaddress', 'show sticky database type ip-netmask both', etc.  Am I looking in the right place?  Are there other commands that I can use to confirm that stickiness is working?
    Thank you,
    barb

    Hi Barb,
As a first step in troubleshooting your issue of stickiness you can issue the following command:
sh resource usage all. The output should look as follows:
    sticky                   118303
The 11803 is the current amount of sticky entries in use.
Do it before you attempt a sticky connection and see what the count is.
Then attempt a connection and do the command again and see if the count has increased.
If it has than the feature is working. If not than you may have a configuration issue.
Please post your configuration of the sticky and the policy map associated with it.
    Hope this helps.
    thanks.
    Jack.

  • Perspective - designed paper on a table

I would like to take designed invitations (some have photos, some graphics, all have text) and give them a perspective to look as if they have been printed and are sitting out to be viewed, like on a table.    I have reviewed some perspective tutorials, and understand that feature somewhat.  A few problems I'm having.
When I place the invitation on the horizontal plane it angles it to the left or right, when I really just want it to lay directly in front (without a rotation).
Invitations with jpgs won't go into perspective.
What is the best way to accomplish this look?  Is it best done in photoshop?  I prefer illustrator--because I'm more familiar with it, but will do it in whatever program will give me the best look.

    You are welcome, shjaredarj.
Wrapping it in an Envelope should enable you to send even a raster image to the table surface (I was too slow editing post #2).
My description may have been a bit too woolly:
You should ClickDrag horizontally towards the middle of the top segment of the rectangle, not the centre of the rectangle.
And let go of the mouse before letting go of the keys
I hope you will report your findings.

When I am trying to configure a Dialed Number in Configuration Manager, the Routing Client field is empty, it doesn't show the UCM option.
Kindly can someone help me on this issue, what should I check? is there something missing in the configuration?...
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you see a PG and PG Peripheral for UCM? If so, select the Peripheral and go to the Routing Client tab. I've attached a picture of what a healthy functioning PG and PG Peripheral would look like from the Routing Client perspective.

  • Client submitted Projects/Enhancements/One-Offs

Greetings amazing Project Server 2013 Gurus!
Our institution will have MS Project Server 2013 with SharePoint 2013 in the next two months.
I need to start designing the project processes now to get a head of the game so......I will start with the most basic because I can do almost everything else.
How do I go about creating a client initiated submission form for everything that is not break-fix. How will the requests get routed? From the client perspective is there a "Where is it in the request pipeline" tracking?
Is it possible to create a specific form that will help identify specific types of projects/enhancements/One-Offs(standalone tasks)?
If this is possible for the client (project requester) side then how detailed can I get with criteria/routing/ect?
    Thanks,
    Bill

    Hi Bill,
As far as I understand, your need is to design a custom workflow with stages and phases. From the submission to project approval, planning, execution and closing, you can propose at each phase/stage web forms with project attributes, adding eventually approvals
to go forward to the next stage.
Project Server has various reporting features that will give you an overview of your project pipeline based on your attributes.
You also can define various project types (EPT) to which you can attach specific governance such as WBS, workflow, project site template, webforms (called PDP).
To resume, I'd say that implementing Project Server requires a good knowledge in Project and Portfolio Management but also high skills on the product itself. I'd strongly recommend that you take support from one of the expert firm on Project Server.
Feel free to ask for more details, links or anything. Since your question is quite high level, my reply is so but I'll be glad to provide you links, either technical or about methodology.
    Hope this helps,

  • WLAN Client Roaming

I have a WLAN deployment with around 40 APs and dual WLC4400's. For some reason the clients seem too "sticky" to their first associated AP and don't roam. How can the system be tuned to make them roam to other AP's better?

    Ok Rick,
I have seen similar problems before when utilizing client server applications such as Citrix or SAP. I do need to know if the APs are actually providing good coverage so I am assuming you had a good survey done here. There are several client sticky conditions that have been found to be caused by 11mb beacons and eap issues. Try these settings:
Security => Credentials cashing enabled (eap credentials)
    Improves roaming performance
    Wireless => Global RF 802.11b/g
changed 11Mbit from mandatory to supported
Apparently there is a known issue with 11Mbit beacons,
disabling them also assists in better roaming.
If you would like me to look over your physical network of APs and coverage, send me a copy of your current survey. One other thing, which APs are you using and what antenna configuration. Noise and multipath can also contribute to longer roam times but I am betting on the thin client being the problem here.

  • OWB Slow Response at logon and General Client Performance

Hi all wonder if anyone confirm what i am seeing is normal. I am relatively new to OWB but we are running with 10G R2 but have noticed very poor response from a client perspective particular at logon. It take around six minutes for the design center logon box to appear after you have clicked on the icon which seam very slow. Also noticed that performance reduces within the client the longer you use the product in one session.
Question: Is what i am seeing just normal performance or can the OWB performance be improved by some form of configuration either client or java settings. My PC spec is detailed below and has 2GB of memory which was recommended by Oracle
OS Name     Microsoft Windows XP Professional
    Version     5.1.2600 Service Pack 2 Build 2600
    Total Physical Memory     2,048.50 MB
    Available Physical Memory     1.02 GB
    Total Virtual Memory     2.00 GB
    Available Virtual Memory     1.89 GB
    Page File Space     2.82 GB

Hey all thanks for you responses, think you might have identified the problem with the Anti Virus, rebooted machine and just start OWB on its own. Mcafee was hitting the CPU hard for five minutes and then suddenly logon box appeared so looks like thats the issue. Note sure i will be able to get that changed as it is centrally administered global setting for all machines i think. At least that explains why it took so long.
    Many thanks
Will double check the DB side of things as well

  • Development API/SDK?

Is there a way to develop against CS Live, specifically CS Review?

    Mike,
I'm also fond of this idea. The CS Review workflow is really nice, but it'd be awesome (as a content creator) to re-skin and customize the user experience for my particular workflow. Our current proofing process has clients logging in to our website where we have full control of look and functionality.  The collaborative tools are hugely useful, but from the client perspective, they are being sent to Acrobat.com where their proof is being hosted.  In some cases confidentiality agreements prevent us from hosting materials on a 3rd party site like this.

Your Template code is incomplete / corrupted.
That's why you can't edit it.
Try opening your .dwt file in a plain text editor like NotePad.  Remove the editable regions from code.  Save.  Open in DW.
You will need to SaveAs Template (same name as the one used by your child pages).  Add editable regions to match the ones in your child pages.  Save.

  • In Excel 2010, can you have a pivot table pull the actual text that is in your worksheet?

    Hello there,
In other words, I have two worksheets in the same workbook and the column titles are the same in each.  They both include columns such as Ticket Number, Description, PM Update, Dev Review, Account Update, Client Review, Client Approval. I need to indicate
the following in the pivot table...
PM Update, Dev Review, Account Update, Client Review - This needs to show either In Progress, Complete or it should be blank if neither.
Client Approval needs to show Yes or blank
Ticket number needs to show the actual ticket number (which is alpha-numeric) that's displayed in the worksheet. Currently I have this setup as the first column in the worksheets so it is displaying properly.
Description needs to show the actual description that is displayed in the worksheet
Is this possible??  I've been working on trying to do this for quite a while. Please, please help.
    Thanks so much in advance!
    -Lori

    Hello Lori,
I think that is possible :) one question - you want to merge those two worksheets into one pivottable report? That would be little more complicated.
If not, just try to put all your wanted columns into pivottable "row field" part - Excel won't treat the data as a calculation and will just display according to outline. One nice tip - you can always change the report layout from "compact
form" into "tabular form" (using - PivotTable Tools/Design/Report Layout). That would display the data in separate columns so you can filter easily.
Let me know, if it works :)

  • Question about WLAN Site Surveys with 802.11n APs - 1142s

I do site surveys a little differently that everyone else nowadays, I believe.  In the past, I used an autonomous 1230 or 1240, but now I use a lightweight 1142.  I configure a port in a room to be on the AP VLAN and I connect my 1142 to the port and hang it where I want - it then gets on the controller and start broadcasting just like the finished product will.  This works well except for the time it takes me to configure a port on the switch and the bootup time for the AP.  I'm one of the Networks Architects on a campus of almost 200 buildings, so I have access to all the routers and switches and can configure anything I need while onsite.
Now I want to have someone else (in-house) to do our surveys - but this person(s) does not have access to switches and routers, and that won't ever change.
I tried configuring a lightweight 1142 in HREAP mode to handoff to this person, but it appears the power and channel settings don't stick on the 5 GHz side.
Scrapping that idea, I now have to build out an autonomous 1142 for site surveying.  I missed out on this step because I went from buying 1242s (can jump between lightweight and autonomous) to 1142s (which didn't have an autonomous image at that time, I believe).  This is why I started surveying with lightweight 1142s.
I'm curious if anyone has gone through the configuration of an autonomous 1142 and wouldn't mind sharing their "lessons learned".  I haven't seen a matrix of features that are supported/not supported on 1142s when configured for lightweight vs. autonomous.
I currently aim for designing around the 5 GHz radios set to 10 dBm, 20% cell overlap.  I also turn on 40 MHz channels in 5 GHz range.  This usually ends up with an AP in every other or every third classroom, depending on how old the building is and how many times it has been renovated.  I can't "just throw APs out there" since each building is different - some are thin concrete block, some are poured cement, and some are block with metal mesh and stucco.  Those usually end up with on AP per classroom.
Does anyone have a matrix on what can and cannot be turned on in an autonomous AP?  I would like to get my config as close to the lightweight scenario we deploy for all of our production WLANs.

There is no matrix as to what you're asking for. I've done conversions and configurations of AP's from Lightweight to Autonomous and vice-versa. The configuration of the autonomous AP can be identical to the Lightweight AP from a client perspective.
My current setup has 3 SSID's (VoIP, Data, and Guest) on the autonomous AP. Couple things I do:
    1. PoE powered AP through a Tessco power pack.
    2. VLANs have to be enabled on the AP (1 for each SSID)
    3. The SSID's will have to be created and each AP mapped to a VLAN
    4. The SSID's will be need to be enabled on both radios if desired.
The easiest way to configure the AP is to power it with either the power cord.
Console into the AP and let it boot. Assign an IP address to the BVI 1 interface.
Assign an IP address on the wired NIC of our laptop and plug an ethernet cable into the AP's ethernet port.
Configure the AP as listed above via the web gui.
This is by no means a complete answer, but your questions were all over the map.
    Regards,
    Jerry
