CS4 is shutting down computer

I am on a Mac and run 10.4.11 - I have tried re-installing the entire CS. I have also had to re-install every single thing on my computer. I am still having the problem that when I use the transform tool (Edit>transform) the entire system freezes, a gray film rolls down the screen and then I get the message that I have to re-start my computer by holding down the power button for 5-6 seconds. I have tried running CS4 without any other CS versions installed and I am still having the problem.
As soon as I uninstall the entire CS4 and install CS3 - everything if fine. What gives?

This isn't a new RAM issue as I haven't installed any. When I re-installed all of the software from the ground up, I did an erase and install, so the whole thing should have been basically wiped before I installed the Mac software.

iPhoto works best when the source (Pictures folder) is on a different disk drive than the iPhoto Library is on.
And you need to have enough free disk space to work with, the faster the better.
Also, do not keep your media folders and those in your home folder on the same drive as the system, also another bottleneck.
Until or unless you have everything on 1400MB/sec SSD PCIe controller, you want

Media and data folders and such
scratch
backup
etc
I put iPhoto on an SSD off an SSD PCIe Sonnet Tempo card
If you stop- it, you will need to trash the Library it was creating.
Reading and writing to/from the same hard drive will be slow.
You don't mention which Mac, or how large you are trying to import etc

Take a look in Activity Monitor. See what the % being used for iPhoto, how many pageouts, how much free space on the various disk drives, and how much RAM do you have installed?

My CS4 keeps shutting down when I try to use it,why?

How can I stop my CS4 from shutting down when I try to save or even open a file in it?
I have tried resetting the preferences file. This worked once but so far has not worked again(I found this solution just by googling). It is obviously a common problems but I cannot find a solution that works or an explanation as to why it happens.
Please could someone at least explain what causes it? And preferably how to fix it?
It cost a lot of money and I don' yet understand why I should lose the right to have a functional programme. I'm not interested in having any new features etc. It takes me ages to work out how to do easy thing each time a new programme comes out!

Not using any mouse pad, I have a very smooth desktop. But I just tried to use a sheet of A4 printing paper, but no result, the problem persisted.
Someone on this forum suggested, that USB3 may interfere with the magic mouse.
I have 2 LaCie HDD's about 70 cm away from the mouse, I use them on Thunderbolt. But in operation or not - the result is the same, the mouse plays up! Just now I was clicking the desktop and the mouse created a new folder!!

My Illustrator CS4 keeps shutting down everytime

Helo my Illustrator CS4 keeps shutting down everytime I tried to click on the "OPEN" icon on the startup screen which ask what you want to do.
please provide me with a solution, I recently re-installed the entire CS4 suite on my windows 7 for a second time. The first installation most of the applications had just dissappeared.

I did the cleared the entire folder as shown below and still get the same problem...it is terminating when I create a new file and tried to save it

AutoTrim & Include Subfolders From A Folder & Preserve Subfolder Structure & Auto Shut Down Computer - ALL In Batch Processing Mode And Match Volume Mode ?

Hi! I salute you all!
First of all I want to excuse my english (it's not my native language)!
In 2014 we are dealing with thousands of files (video, audio, etc.), because of the present powerful technology, still... we are missing very important and useful parts for doing our jobs properly and very quickly!
In this case is Adobe Audition too, in my oppinion!
Adobe Audition is a great program, which help us to edit in many ways our audio files, but... unfortunatelly has major missing parts, which would be nice to be implemented as soon as possible!
Some of them are are right below this line:
1. AutoTrim (for removing silences from audio files, before and after)
2. Include Subfolders From A Folder (when adding a folder for working with, we should have the possibillity to add its subfolders too)
3. Preserve Subfolder Structure (when exporting a folder with its all subfolders, we should have the possibillity to export the exact structure like the original)
4. Auto Shut Down Computer (when all the tasks/jobs are done, we should be able to auto close the program and auto shut down our desktop/laptop as well)
When you will add these features which are so wanted, to have them all in Batch Processing mode and Match Volume mode as well, please?!
Many other audio softwares have all of these "old" possibillities, like "GoldWave" for instance (I am not advertising it at all), but the Adobe Audition which is more complex...doesn't so far!
I thank you all and I really wait for these very next future feature requests!

Firefox is starting up on its own. I don't want it to because sometimes I don't need it, and when I go to shut down, computer won't let me because Firefox is running and I didn't know it. What to do?

I used to be in control of whether or not Firefox would load for any particular session on my computer. Now, probably after some update I got in the recent past, Firefox has a mind of its own. It opens every time I turn on my computer. There are times I don't want to use any browser, including Firefox. For example, sometimes I just want to look at my mail. Don't have time for anything else, but my computer won't let me shut it down. Why? Firefox sneaked in. So I have to find it and close it before I can shut down the computer.
HELP!!! How can I stop Firefox from automatically loading?

Welcome to Apple Support Communities
First, when you are going to turn off or restart your Mac, you will see a box called "Reopen windows when logging back in" in the shutdown or restart window. Untick this box and see if the App Store opens automatically in the next startup.
If it starts, open System Preferences > Users and Groups > Login Items, and see if the App Store shows up. If so, remove it from this list

Firefox crashing when playing Zynga games (farmville, frontierville, farmtown, etc) and shuts down computer

Why do you have to keep adding new items to farm town when the servers you have cant cope now?? No wonder so many people left, but now i see you are adding new items to get them all back, well all my friends have stoped playing because of all the problems. The main problam i have is that i cant work on other people farms therefore i cant earn coins ect ect, I keep getting this bloody sign saying connection to server timed out please tick the tick to reload the game, and as you know thats the end of that job. I've had this macbook since August of last year, so it is still relatively new. For about a month the 'beach ball of death' has frozen my computer at least a couple times a week, which then I am forced to shut down the computer. What could be a reason for the constant freezing??

These instructions must be carried out as an administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Step 1
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
Enter "BOOT_TIME" (without the quotes) in the search box. Note the timestamps of those log messages, which refer to the times when the system was started. Now clear the search box and scroll back in the log to the last boot time after you had the problem. Select the messages logged before the boot, while the system was unresponsive or was failing to shut down. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V. Please include the BOOT_TIME message at the end of the log extract.
If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message.
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
Step 2
Still in Console, look under System Diagnostic Reports for crash or panic logs, and post the entire contents of the most recent one, if any. In the interest of privacy, I suggest you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if present (it may not be.) Please don’t post any other kind of report—it will be very long and not helpful.
