CS4 replace image issue - Windows 7

New laptop - Dreamweaver CS4 - Windows 7...
If i insert an image to a document it puts the image in fine.  But if I want to change that image I select that image and hit the "browse for image" (little folder icon) and select a different image in the" Select an image source" dialog box and click ok - nothing happens.  The dalog box disappears and the old image remains. Almost as if i clicked cancel instead of ok.
Since this is a new laptop I'm not sure if it's a hardware or software issue.  Never experienced this on my work coomputer on Win  XP and CS4.
Any ideas?
John

I'm not the only one... found this thread after I started my own (murphy's law) - same issue I'm having... http://forums.adobe.com/message/2511455#2511455
So I guess it's not the same issue??
sitewidecf: i know you only work in code view - but could you humor me and try to replace an image in the design view as I described and see if you can replicate the issue.
thanks
John

  • Imaged (OSD) Windows 8.1 (HYPER-V) computers do not have a functional Client Certificates in personal store

    Hi! I have posted some of this in the ConfigMgr 2012 forum. As indicated above, I seem to have either a group policy/autoenrollment problem getting my Configmgr 2012 OSD images of windows 8.1 to enroll for a client cert.
    The imaged machines function fine when they are finished imaging, and the Configmgr 2012 client is fully functional. However the MMC-->Certs-->computer account-->personal. Shows no certs.
    Physical machines have the client cert. They are both created in the same OU. If I try to manually import the cert it works just fine, however I want autoenrollment to do this.
    the Autoenrollment GP's are setup and functional on the Default domain policy
    I recently created a new client cert from a duplicate of the workstation cert and it installed just fine doing a GPUpdate /force on my domain joined computers.
    I do not see any negative events in the eventvwr on the hyper v machines. I have built a few.
    suggestions?  thx

    Frank

  • Script for replacing Image from a frame into InDesign document file

    Hi All,
    I am having an indesign document (indd) file with images and texts. I am using InDesign Server CS4 to run the scripts via SOAP.
    My requirement is to replace any of the images from the required frame/s of indesign document through scripting (I already have frame id of which image needs to be replaced). I have written written java-script file (as given below): but when I execute this java-script on InDesign Server via SOAP, I get follwoing error into InDesign Server:
    10/03/09 15:15:54 INFO  [javascript] Executing File: \\Server_IP_Address\JavaScript_File_Path\JavaScript_File.js

    Following is the java-script that is being used for replacing image from indd's frame:
    var myDocument = app.open(File('//Server_IP_Address/InDesignDocument_File_Path/Sample.indd'));
    var tmp_frmid="1339"; //frame id of which image needs to be replaced.
    for (var i=0;i<myDocument.pages.length;i++)
    var objPage=myDocument.pages.item(i);
    var objPageitems = objPage.pageItems;
    try
    var obj = objPageitems.itemByID(tmp_frmid);
    obj.images[0].remove;
    obj.appliedObjectStyle = null;
    var myImage=obj.place(File('//Server_IP_Address/Images_to_be_reolaced_Path/ImageFile.jpg'));
    var old_height = myImage.geometricBounds[2] - myImage.geometricBounds[0];
    var new_height = obj.geometricBounds[2] - obj.geometricBounds[0];
    var old_width = myImage.geometricBounds[3] - myImage.geometricBounds[1];
    var new_width = obj.geometricBounds[1] + ((new_height / old_height) * old_width);
    myImage.geometricBounds = [obj.geometricBounds[0] + "mm", obj.geometricBounds[1] + "mm", obj.geometricBounds[2] + "mm", new_width + "mm"];
    var diff = obj.geometricBounds[1] - myImage.geometricBounds[1];
    myImage.move( undefined, [diff,0] );
    break;
    catch(e)
    myDocument.save('//Server_IP_Address/InDesignDocument_File_Path/Sample.indd');
    var previewFile = File('//Server_IP_Address/Images_to_be_reolaced_Path/ImageFile.jpg');
    app.jpegExportPreferences.jpegQuality["JPEGOptionsQuality.low"];
    app.documents.item(0).exportFile(ExportFormat.jpg, previewFile);
    myDocument.close();
    I have very urgent requirement; if anyone have any idea; please suggest me. \
    It would be highly appreciable.
    Kind Regards,
    Prashant.

  • Editing in Photoshop CS4 rotates image

    After making adjustments in Lightroom 3.2, if I then edit the image in Photoshop CS4, the image rotates slightly clockwise and affects any cropping and adjustments to the vertical I have already done in Lightroom. The rotation occurs as the image is opened in Photoshop so that when I return from Photoshop to Lightroom my image has changed (not counting those made in Photoshop). Why is this happening? I am working in Windows 7.

    Thanks, Dorin, for your response. That sounds like the right explanation. Would CS5 handle the perspective adjustments and lens corrections correctly?
    The files I am editing in Lightroom are pef (Pentax) or dng converted from pef by DxO. Right now I am right-clicking the image in Lightroom and selecting "Edit in Adobe Photoshop CS4". I get the same result with Ctrl+E; but Ctrl+Alt+E does nothing for me. Nothing happens with the latter. That may be because I am already using Topaz's tlfusionexpress2 as Lightroom's secondary editor.

  • Process for replacing images

    I would like to get our opinion on how I am working when replacing images.
    The help-project has not been updated since it first was generated but much has been done to the system. So there are a lot of images to replace but I have very limited time and the customer want as much as possible to be done. This means that I have to do some things in a way that might not be the best way but is the fastest. But I don’t want to work in a way that we later regret because it causes some problem that I haven’t realized yet. I don’t have much knowledge of the updates of the system or of the RoboHelp-project (what is described in the help, where in the help is it described).
    I capture the image with IrfanWiew.
    I delete the old image in the Design Editor. (I’m aware that the image is not removed from the project but I will deal with this later.)
    I paste the image in the Design Editor. (I find this the fastest way to get the new pictures where they should go.)
    When I have finished replacing images I create a folder and drag the images there (either in RoboHelp or in Windows Explorer).  The old images are in a separate folder but I don’t want the new images in the same folder because it might be some name conflicts.
    I remove unused images by looking at the report Unused Files.
    Is this an ok way to work?

    If you are replacing one image with another, you could could save them with the same file name and in the same location. Your project should then pick it up. However there is a proviso that the old and new images are exactly the same size. If they are not, you may have to reset the image size inside the Design Editor for each image.
    If you use your workflow, I would not paste the image in. Whilst this is acceptable, you'll end up with image file names that bear no resemblance to the image (e.g. image001.png, image002.png, etc.) which may create future difficulties. Also ensure you drag your images from INSIDE your project. If you do this in Windows, your project will be unaware you have moved them and report them as broken links.

    I have a Windows server 2008 R2 and I'm using backup feature to backup all computers in the network on it. Recently I ran into an issue and had to re-image my Windows 2008 R2 server  and had to restore 2 of my client computers but now I can't restore

    Anyone out there to help me with this issue?

  • Can an image of Windows 2000 using NI-VXI 3.5 with a PXI-MXI controller be fielded for multiple computers using sysprep?

    I am trying to field an image of Windows 2000 using NI-VXI 3.5 with a PXI-MXI controller.  Can I set the system up to retain to original settings for VXI?  Some of my computers use a PCI-MXI controller.  Although Windows always finds the MXI controller, the original VXI System 0 is not used.  I have several VME instruments set up and the target is about 85 different computers.  Also the NI-GPIB interface does not show in MAX.  Is this supposed to work?

    Hello,
    Here's an update regarding the gpib error. There has been a Corrective Action Request (CAR) ID:3BI8A578, filed due to a similar issue of error gpibpnp.exe with NI-488.2 v2.2 on Windows 2000 and Sysprep. This issue's workaround involved going back to install NI-488.2 v2.1 or installing the v2.3 release in order to eliminate the problem. Currently, NI-488.2 v2.3 is no longer available for download, however, all operating systems and hardware supported by NI-488.2 v2.3 are also supported by NI-488.2 v2.4 (see link 1).

  • CS4: Fit Image Problem

    Recently had a very bizarre issue that just happened. Not sure why, but it won't go away.
    I use the Fit Image script quite a bit. For sizing images that will end up on the blog, batching out files for proofs, etc. I have it written into many of my actions.
    Up until a few days ago, if you opened any action that I've recorded and expanded out the Fit Image step, you would see the dimensions (in pixels) that were recorded. Then, I started getting an error message for any action that used Fit Image. The error message was "Javascript code was missing".
    I checked my scripts folder and the Fit Image script is there. Nothing has changed. I even used Time Machine to go back a few weeks and see if anything had been deleted. Nothing.
    I tried to write a new action using Fit Image and now, instead of the expanded view showing the size in pixels, it's showing in inches! When I manually use Fit Image, the dialog box comes up with pixels ONLY, so why is it that the recorded step is shown in inches?
    I've gone so far as to uninstall CS4 and reinstall it. The first thing I did was record an action and I'm getting the same results. Why would this just change and does this mean I have to re-record all my actions that use Fit Image?
    Any ideas or insight?

    The problem come down to the fact the the way scripts are recorded in actions the full path of the script is recorded. If you un-install CS3 its script directory will be deleted so the script is gone CS4 script is in a different directory.
    CS2 and prior recording of the plug-in fit image were recorded as step Fit Image not as a script path step.  These actions should still work for when Photoshop starts up the CS4 Fit Image scripts register as the plug-in Automate>Fit Image.  When these action  are played and the plug-in step Fit Image get played it is looking for the registered Fit Image Plug-in Photoshop should run the CS4 Fit Image Script.
    The bug in Fit Image is very minor.  One day I used fit image on a image that was 1080 x 1080 and fit image was set to 1200 x 1200 the resulting image turned out to be 1201 x 1200 one side was one pixel off there were 1200 extra pixels.
    Reading the CS3 Fit Image Script I saw this:
         docRatio = docWidth / docHeight; // decimal ratio of original width/height
         // NOTE - ccox - 17 Aug 2004 - I added the rounding by 0.5
         // this should solve reported cases of fit image being off by 1 (always under)
         // NOTE - elr - 3 May 2006 - keep original aspect ratio
         newWidth = width;
         newHeight = ((1.0 * width) / docRatio) + 0.5; // decimal calc
         newHeight = 1 * newHeight; // make integer
         if (newHeight > height) {
              newWidth = 0.5 + docRatio * height; // decimal calc
              newWidth = 1 * newWidth; // make integer
              newHeight = height;
    Someone fixed fit image not to be one pixel under.  I thought this fix most likely cause my one over problem so I stuck in some alerts to see the numbers. Looked like the multiply by one to round did not round and I thought the .5 value perhaps would work better if it were .4.  So I changed to code to
         docRatio = docWidth / docHeight; // decimal ratio of original width/height
         // NOTE - ccox - 17 Aug 2004 - I added the rounding by 0.5
         // this should solve reported cases of fit image being off by 1 (always under)
         // rounding by .5 seem to make some sides 1 Px large change to .4 and used math round to round JJMack
         // NOTE - elr - 3 May 2006 - keep original aspect ratio
         newWidth = width;
         newHeight = ((1.0 * width) / docRatio) + 0.4; // decimal calc
         newHeight = Math.round(newHeight); // make integer
         if (newHeight > height) {
              newWidth = 0.4 + docRatio * height; // decimal calc
              newWidth = Math.round(newWidth); // make integer
              newHeight = height;

  • Replace image in frame

    Hello,
    CS3 vs CS4
    I place an image in Indesign CS3 and scale it to 50%
    Then I replace the image with an other one and this new image  also automatically resizes to 50 %. That's how i want it.
    If i do this in CS4 the image fits to the frame. I can change it to 100% but I don't get the 50%.
    What't the trick?
    Bertil

    Thanks Ken,
    This works!

  • How to get back default Lock Screen Image of Windows 8.1

    I recently upgraded windows 8 to Windows 8.1, but it reset my custom lock screen image .  I tried for default lock screen of windows 8.1.I can't find any default lock screen
    images of windows 8.1 (Only custom images are available). How to get default lock screen images? Does any any one know? please help me..

    The last "solution" works only for pressing Ctrl+Alt+Delete and clicking
    Lock. If you sign out of Windows and sign back in, that ghastly Windows 8.1 lock screen picture will come back.
    You can delete the img100.png file from your WinSxS folder: right lick on this file, click Properties, click the Security tab, click Edit, click Add, type your Windows user name in the white rectangle under "Enter the object
    name to select", click Check Names, click OK, then click Advanced, click Change, take ownership of the file, give yourself Full control over this file, click Apply and then OK. You may see your name three times in the Security tab (as user, administrator,
    and yourself). Make sure that each instance has full Control
    If this does not work, you can disable the Lock Screen: press Windows+R, type
    gpedit.msc, click OK, in the Local Group Policy Editor window that opens click on Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Control Panel > Personalization, right click on the "Do not display the lock screen" option, click
    Edit, check Enabled, then click Apply and OK.
    This, however, is a workaround rather than a real solution, which, it seems, Microsoft does not have.
    I have exactly the same issue with the horrid stripey thing. Furthermore, in Settings, Lock Screen Preview is completely blank both on current and past images.
    I've tried all the tips I've found around the web with no success. I get the horrid stripey thing back.
    I found this freeware called Lock Screen Customizer. Seems to work so far but time will tell. (Note that the download includes both win8 and win8.1 versions.)

  • Replace images on specific layer

    Hi,
    till now i used the Script-function in InDesign only for "findandchange"-Actions. It works fine and is very time-saving.
    Now I would like to replace images on specific Layers, like I do this with textcontent with the "Findandchange"-Script.
    Is this possible?
    I try to explain...
    Example:
    - Find all images "image-a1.tif"(path:folder/folder/image-a1.tif) on specific layer "mylayer"(or only activ and not locked layers)
    - Replace all this images with this image "image-a2"tif(path:folder/folder/image-a2.tif)
    - Find all images "image-b1.tif"(path:folder/folder/image-b1.tif) on specific layer "mylayer"(or only activ and not locked layers)
    - Replace all this images with this image "image-b2"tif(path:folder/folder/image-b2.tif)
    - Find all images "image-c1.tif"(path:folder/folder/image-c1.tif) on specific layer "mylayer"(or only activ and not locked layers)
    - Replace all this images with this image "image-c2"tif(path:folder/folder/image-c2.tif)
    Background Info:
    These images have all the same size and resolution. They distinguish only in content (english-/france/german elements).
    It's a "multilanguage" InDesign-Document. Every "Languagecontent" have its own layer.
    Thanks for helping...

    Hi,
    Yes you can. I.e using dialog box.
    It could be like this:
    myDoc = app.activeDocument;
    myGraph = myDoc.layers.item("graphic").allGraphics;     // modify layer name
    for (k=0; k<myGraph.length; k++)
         oldLink = myGraph[k].itemLink.filePath;     //whole path
         oldFileName = File(oldLink).name;              //only file name
        newFileName = myDialog(oldFileName);     // new name is read from dialog
         if ( !newFileName ) continue;                         // if user press "cancel" button - no action
         newLink = File(oldLink.replace(oldFileName,newFileName) );    // replace file names within path
         if (File(newLink) instanceof File)                     // if wrong newLink - no action
            myGraph[k].itemLink.relink(newLink);     //relink graphic
    function myDialog(oldName)
        var myWindow = new Window ("dialog", "Replacing images");
        var myInputGroup = myWindow.add ("group");
        myInputGroup.orientation = "column";
        myInputGroup.alignChildren = "left";
        myInputGroup.add ("statictext", undefined, "Old Name: " + oldName);
        myInputGroup.add ("statictext", undefined, "New Name:");
        var myText = myInputGroup.add ("edittext", undefined, ".eps");
        myText.characters = 20;
        myText.active = true;
        var myButtonGroup = myWindow.add ("group");
        myButtonGroup.alignment = "right";
        myButtonGroup.add ("button", undefined, "OK");
        myButtonGroup.add ("button", undefined, "Cancel");
        var OKbutton = myWindow.show ();
            if (OKbutton == 1) myRes = myText.text;
            else myRes = false;
        return myRes;

  • Question for Anyone Using CS4 Production Premium with Windows 7

    I'm testing Windows 7 at home with CS3 Production Premium and have not had any issues. Of course CS4 is quite a bit different.
    Anyone using CS4 Production Premium on Windows 7 regularly? Any issues to report?
    Thanks

    Thanks for replying to my post:

    This is on Windows 7 RC 64bit."
    On our systems at work that have XP and Vista + CS4 Production Premium.  I've noticed this with preview files in particular and possibly some others, I don't remember. The "show only exact file" checkbox is greyed out. This is somewhat annoying because projects can have a huge number of preview files with long  cryptic names making it a pain to locate the correct one manually to get the ball rolling. If I don't think it'll take too long to re-render, I just select "skip preview files".
    We bought 3 licenses for Windows 7 and I'm encouraged by the performance, reliability and features on my home test system (RC 64) that has CS3 installed. Can't wait to get rid of XP and Vista.

  • Update or replace images

    How to update or replace images in Pages without placing them again?

    The sizing should work to make it fit the way you had it, cropping is a whole other issue however,
    I understand what you are after, because you want to update an edited version of the same image.
    Pages is not that co-operative and whilst it tends to repeat styling I am never quite sure how it decides what it will include or not of the properties.

  • Image a Windows 2003 Server on a PXI - 1042 with a 8108 controller

    Hi,
    I have installed Windows 2003 Server on a PXI - 1042 with a 8108 controller. When I try to take an image of this it fails and I have to remove the hard drive. Then I have to hook it up to a SATA interface and use Ghost 11.5 to image the hard drive.
    Is there a easier way to do this with the Acronis software?
    Thanks,
    John P

    Hello John,
    When you fail taking an image, are you using Ghost or Acronis?
    If it is Acronis you are using, are you using the version that comes on the controller, or are you using the upgraded version, Acronis True Image Home 2009? If you would like to replace the image that is present on the NI PXI controller you will need to use  Acronis® True Image Home 2009 which is available from Acronis.
    Note: If you would like to create a locked factory controlled partition on your PXI controller as National Instruments provides, the Acronis® True Image Home 2009 will allow you to do this. This additional functionality would then be supported by Acronis and not National Instruments.
    This version should allow you to successfully take an image of Windows 2003.
    Thanks,
    Ryan F.

  • Why can't we replace images in photo stream?

    Shared photo streams could be great, but it has a big downside because we cannot replace images in it. How many times haven't I uploaded images that I later wanted to edit? But the only way to replace an image is to delete it and upload a new one. It will appear at the end of the stream as a new project, and all comments will disappear.
    Please give us a better way to replace images, that makes it possible to keep the original place in the photo stream, and keep the comments.
