CS6 Live View Rendering Problem

I recently upgraded from CS5.5 to CS6. Since that up grade I notice that Live View no longer renders the CSS slider color for a DIV box correctly.  I am using the following: scrollbar-face-color: #1FFF40;   CS5.5 does render it correctly, CS6 does not. Anybody else seen this?

scrollbar-face-color is not a standard part of CSS. It's supported only by Internet Explorer and Opera.
Dreamweaver's Live view is based on the WebKit browser engine, which is the same as used in Safari and Chrome, which don't render scrollbars on Mac OS X. The browsers in most mobile phones and tablets also use WebKit, and they don't display scrollbars either.
I suspect that the new version of WebKit in Dreamweaver CS6 Live view simply doesn't support scrollbar-face-color, and is unlikely to do so in future unless it's adopted as part of CSS3 by the W3C.

    Hi, is it possible to view JSQuery (not JQuery Mobile) in the Live View within Dreamweaver CS6?
    If so how.
    Thanks in advance.

    I know what jQuery is but what is JSQuery?
    What are you expecting to see in Live View that you can't?

  • HELP! After Effects CS6 "Background Color" Rendering Problem!

    Of all my years of using Adobe After Effects, I have never encountered this problem before. First of all, this is what it looks like when I'm normally editing in my composition.
    Click the image to view in a higher resolution.
    When I add this composition to the render que, with all my settings ready, I hit render.
    But while it's rendering, I just get a red screen.
    In case you're wondering, these are my basic rendering settings.
    These are my output module settings.
    And these are my composition settings.

  • Live view css3

    Hi you guys. I am looking for some input.  I am playing around with some of the new properties in CSS3. There is some really great stuff out there now that you can do with CSS3. One of the properties I am playing with is
    -moz-transform:rotate(30deg); (NOTE IT IS FOR FIREFOZ ONLY)
    If you assign  it to an ap div, it turns that div at a 30 degree angle. Pretty cool.
    But what I am finding out is, when I hit the live view button, the Live view browser does not appear to be the Firefox browser and that property is particular to firefox In other words when I click live view, I can not see the box turned at a 30 degree angle. I have to actual hit F12, to see it in my primary default browser, Firefox. I don't want to have to hit f12. I want to be able just click the live view and see  the page as it would be seen in a FireFox browsers. Is there anyway I can change the browser live view renders in?
    Please let me know. Thanks for all your help.
    -moz-transform:rotate(30deg); /* Firefox */
    #apDiv3 {
    position:absolute;
    width:200px;
    height:115px;
    z-index:4;
    left: 394px;
    top: 78px;
    background-color: #99CCCC;
    -moz-transform:rotate(30deg);

    Hello, Thank you for your quick reply.
    I did try changing the property to a webkit property and live view did display it then, however I want live view to display the Mozilla Firefox property.
    There must be some way to change that live view browser  from webkit to firefox, don't you think? Let me ask you this, how did you find out that dreamweaver live view uses web kit. Was it in the help manual? or did you just figure it out by process of elimination?
    Adobe has openly said in blogs and in the release notes that the Live View uses the Webkit engine.  This was primarily targeted because of how they were perceived as being slow and hanging onto Flash.  Webkit is the engine that powers Safari and Chrome on the desktop as well as iOS and Android on the mobile front.  Unfortunately, because of how Webkit is tied into DW there is no way to "swap out engines".  Believe me when I say, Mac users would have loved to have been able to "swap in" the IE rendering engine and Windows users could say that as well with the IE6, IE7, IE8, IE9 and IE10 engines (the last 2 are the least problematic).
    If you are truly developing for CSS3 and cross-browsers, using the -webkit and -moz prefixes in addition to standard CSS3 is recommended since IE falls under neither prefix, and the same should go for Opera as well.  While it may seem bothersome, I can assure you it is no where near as bothersome as HTML5 video where the big players (Apple and MS) currently support the proven MPEG-4 video technology whereas Firefox currently supports Ogg and Chrome wants to move from MPEG-4 to its own propriety format WebM.  So not only in this case do you need extra code in your pages but you need to re-encode your video multiple times.
    So the short answer is that it's best not to develop for just one browser.  It will be a bad habit that will be hard to break.

  • Problem with Css styles not showing in live view or when i browse

    I am using Mac osx 10.6 and building website with Dreamweaver CS5.  Sometimes div tags i create not showing styles or rendering in live view or when I browse but  showing in design view. I looked in dreamwever faq and they talk about not showing in design view to toggle the display styles. That is not the problem becuase it is check marked and I tried turning off and turning on and made no difference.I am using firefox browser.
    It happened before the other day too. But all of my other pages in this site that i have created the same way building with div tags and css styles. So not sure what the problem is. Maybe someone has a suggestion here.

  • Dreamweaver CS6 crashes when clicking live view after Yosemite upgrade

    Been using Dreamweaver fine for a while now, upgraded my Mac to Yosemite yesterday, all CS6 app work fine, however opened an xhtml file in Dreamweaver, loads fine, but the second you click the live view button to preview the changes it crashes every time. Tried resetting the prefs for DW. Any known fixes? I need this function to be working ASAP.

    sschroeder2013  You are not alone. I updated a while ago and went into Dreamweaver to update a site and I see the same problem above.
    Please let us know when you have repaired the problem.

  • In accurate live view with Phone spec rendering?

    I find the live view iphone rendering to be basicly unreliable. Can not use it. It renders at 2x or 1/2 size? Is this a retina issue  for iphone 5? I also tried it in the X code with  lphone simulator and the physical phone itself with my Apple provision certicate. Same effect? I re-booted and started from scratch, it worked for one iteration. then the issue re appeard?. Desktop renderings are rock solid. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks
    Tom.

    Hello Tom,
    Does the phone layout looks cornered on one side of the screen, with blank space on the other side?
    If that is the case, can you check if it is a problem with some content lying there on the side which appears blank as explained in this thread: http://forums.adobe.com/message/5697311#5697311
    Hope this helps.

  • Problem with Live View being slow

    Since the latest update it now takes up to 20 seconds for the live view to appear in Dreamweaver. Is this usual - anyone else having this problem, How can I solve it? it's like working in mud!

    It may just be a temporary issue on their server. That's one of the main problems with referencing files you don't own, you are at the mercy of the owner's server status.
    If you can, I would suggest getting a copy of the font files you are using and keeping them on your own server to reference instead, it may cost you extra, but it's worth it.
    To be honest, I've never used Typekit and don't even know if that's possible, but I've had similar issues with Google Fonts in the past and will download fonts to be stored on my own systems now whenever it's critical that they are available whenever the website is (doesn't happen often, but).
    You just need both a .ttf and .otf version of the font to ensure it works when using the @font-face css rule. Converting a .ttf to .otf is pretty simple and can be done in a lot of places online. You would need to check with Typekit's user agreements to see if that's possible, but Google's are all open source and can be modified however you see fit.

  • Live View not rendering in CS5

    I have tried to use Live View to test my php code and have literally only put a line of php code in the body of my html which is
    <?php
    echo "This date is generated by php code ";
    echo date ('d F, Y');
    ?>
    Live View is processing but does not render the output but when I preview in browser it works just fine.   There is nothing to it ie. no pictures or css etc so I cannot understand why it does not output.  Please can anybody offer some advice, I am using CS5?  Thank you.

    Hi Randy, thanks for your reply.  My file and extension is index.php with only that one line of code in for me to test.  I am using MAMP and my servers are on.  I have noticed that when I select the Live View Button, my page begins to render in the bottom right corner of the screen and the Address Bar changes from
    localhost/testSite/index.php
    to
    localhost/testSite/TMPNZA6CQ.php
    but then nothing appears in the Design Window to show the result of my php code ie. The Date.
    However, when I preview in browser - the page displays as it should.  It looks like there is a bug with my Live View in DW CS5.
    Has anyone else had this problem?
    Your help is greatly appreciated.

  • Live View Not Rendering Page Properly

    Can someone explain why the LIVE VIEW in DW5.5 wouldnt render the page properly?  I have a site that I developed, and when I view it in every browser... FF, IE, Opera, Safari, etc there are no errors and the page renders properly.  However, when I view a page in the Live View, my footer section (which is done by a server side include) renders skewed far to the right.  It must have something to do with that SSI, because I have other SSI's on the page and they are fine. It's just that one single one (the footer).
    As I said, the site renders perfectly in all browsers, just not in Design View.  I am evaluating DW5.5 for use using the trial period, so perhaps there is some feature that's turned off?  The code for the site is a bit too much to put here, but right now I'm just looking for reasons that there would be such a drastic difference.
    Thanks.

    To paste code, go to the web forum (email doesn't work for this).
    Click on 'Use advanced editor'

    Paste your CSS & HTML code into the box.

  • Live View not rendering CSS

    On  a Mac OS Mavefrick, DW CC.  Mostly working fine until recently.  Now CSS changes shown in Design View not seen in Live View.  Checked syntax, made changes in CSS Designer to no effect.  Could not uninstall DW CC (alias corrupted?) but reinstalled DW CC.  Re-install had no effect. Suggestions?
    RJL

    Thanks for your suggestion but this has been a sudden, recent change.  Never had this problem before using DW CC.
    Today, I tweaked the CSS and got to a point on one of my pages (calendar.htm) where everything in Design view and Live view looked just as I wanted it.  Tested in Firefox and Chrome, still fine.  Uploaded the file to the server, opened the page in Chrome, still fine. An hour or two later I went back to calendar.htm and whereas everything was fine in Design view the CSS styling on the h4 tags were not present in Live view.  Checked the web again and the calendar.htm looked as I expected it to look (serrakck.org --> Calendar).
    Still need help.  I have a bunch of CC apps on my Macs and maybe there is some comflick with them.  Don't have any other version of DW except DW CC.

  • Design View differs from Live view problem

    I have Dreamweaver CS5.5 with Mac OS 10.7.3 on an iMac. I have the same set-up on a Macbook Pro 17
    The problem is that the Design view is showing different fonts and not picking up layout as per CSS style but the Live view is all correct.
    All is fine on the laptop so it is my iMac specific glytch
    I have checked the settings for diplaying CSS styles and they are ticked
    I have switched off the activation settings for Suitcase Fusion 3 in case of conflict there
    I have uninstalled and reinstalled Dreamweaver
    I think it a font-related problem as the design view only seems to want to display non-serif fonts.
    Am I doomed to only use the lap-top in my web work?
    I hope someone can advise as I am rather frustrated

    I think that's just the way it is...

  • Design view problem, live view fine

    I'm having a design view issue in Dreamweaver CS4. If you look at the images here:
    http://www.honestcontractors.net/temp/index.html
    You can see that design view (top image) cuts off the bottom CSS and the right area. But everything looks just fine in live view (lower image). Anyone have any ideas why this is going on?
    Thanks!

    Me too!  I also have upgraded from DW8 to CS5 and have this problem and it is driving me crazy.  I have run my pages through the W3C validator and they passed, so I know there is nothing wrong with my code.  But the XHTML pages are all displaying flush left in Design View, and intermittently so are some of the HTML pages.  They display fine in Live View, but of course, you can't do any editing in Live View.  This to me disables one of the key features of Dreamweaver since it was launched by Macromedia years ago -- the ability to switch seamlessly back and forth between Code View and Design View!  I've been working with it like this for several years and this has thrown a monkey wrench into my workflow and I'm really depressed.  The Adobe phone tech in India was trying to tell me it was my fault!  I showed him that the pages passed the W3C validator test and displays just fine in Firefox and Safari when uploaded to the server.
    Meanwhile, there are other bugs the Adobe phone tech basically threw up his hands about: browser preview works with Safari but not Firefox (it just doesn't open at all, nothing happens).  Also, sometimes after interacting with the server, the dialog box doesn't close on its own, so you go to open a file a minute or two later, and you are told that "Dreamweaver is currently interacting with a server."  Since the dialog box is hidden, this has also been driving me nuts for the past week until I realized what the cause was.
    I am SO frustrated right now.  This is a very, very expensive program, and it should be working better than DW8 not lacking key features.  Any other suggestions?  And what's with Adobe's current phone techs?  I've talked with 3 of them about this issue.  The first one spoke fractured English, the second one seemed competent to a point, the third one had decent language skills but I felt as if I had better reasoning skills and knew more than he did -- and he was the one who punted and said "Must be the fault of your design," even though he could see my screens and I showed him that the design passed validation.
    By the way Tech # 2 had me delete the configuration files and preferences and uninstall and reinstall DW CS5 to no avail.  And I'm running the latest update of Snow Leopard on a Mac Mini purchased in November 2009.

  • "Code & Design" and "Code & Live" view problem i  am getting in Dreamweaver CC 2014

    Please anyone help me.
    I have 2 webpages, one is with 12 columns fluid grid based and another is without fluid grid based.
    Both are open in same site folder in Dreamweaver CC 2014.
    I want to resize/edit  my fluid grid div column in design view.
    But i m not getting the proper menu (view-->Code and Design)
    why the problem is happening ?
    If my non-fluid page is active for edit purpose than i am getting the "View"-->"Code and Design"
    if my fluid page is active for edit purpose than i am no getting the  "View"-->"Code and Design"
    but i am getting "View"-->"Code and live"
    i am unable to resize my fluid div using the resize handler.
    this is fluid based, i need "code and design view"
    this is non-fluid based

    There has been much discussion about this lately.  You can add your vote for a return of Design View below.
    Provide "Design View" for Fluid Grid Webpages
    It's an "improvement" made to the October release to promote more people to use Live View editing in FGLayouts.  As we're finding out, the removal of Design View in FGLayouts is severely impacting people's workflows.
    Workarounds:
    Step back to CC June release from links below
    Win: http://download.adobe.com/pub/adobe/dreamweaver/win/cc/Dreamweaver_14_LS20.exe
    Mac: http://download.adobe.com/pub/adobe/dreamweaver/mac/cc/Dreamweaver_14_LS20.dmg
    or put an X in the FGLayout CSS comments
    Change this:
    Dreamweaver Fluid Grid Properties
    dw-num-cols-mobile:        5;
    dw-num-cols-tablet:        8;
    dw-num-cols-desktop:    12;
    dw-gutter-percentage:    25;
    to this:
    Dreamweaver Fluid Grid Properties
    dw-num-cols-mobile:      X;
    dw-num-cols-tablet:        8;
    dw-num-cols-desktop:    12;
